She’s A Keeper by Lee St. John – Review by Angela Hayes

4 Stars

She’s A Keeper! Is a collection of anecdotes, thoughts, opinions, pranks and memories from the pen of Lee St. John. This is my first read by Ms. St. John, so I really didn’t know what to expect going into it. All I had was the blurb, which appealed because it sounded like a funny, light-hearted read- and promised to be a little different from what I normally read. Having come out the other end, I can honestly say that I am happy to have read it, in fact I am pleasantly surprised by how much I did like Ms. St. John’s point of view on the many and various topics she covers. There are over 80 chapters worth of various interesting thoughts- but don’t worry each chapter is only a few pages long- which makes the whole book a quick and easy read. Ms. St. John has a bit of a sassy, southern inflection to her writing which makes everything she writes quite entertaining. At the same time her stories invite you to sit a while, relax, laugh, shake your head, grin, and all the while fall under her spell.

So, if you are looking for something a little different to read- that will hold your attention, entertain you, make you laugh, and give you plenty to think about- then this is definitely the book for you. This was a great introduction to Ms. St. John’s work and I look forward to reading more of her book s in the future.

Thank you, Ms. St. John!
