This is not the first book that I have read from Ms. O’Malley but I have to say it is one of the better ones. The story takes place on an island mainly in a lighthouse. The book flips between the 1800’s, with Adelia and Augustus to present day with Hope and Clooney.

Adelia tells her story of love and betrayal from her husband Augustus. They moved to the island as newlyweds excited to start their new lives together. The isolation of the lighthouse on the island brought Augustus to the brink of insanity. What should have been a beautiful time for Adelia turned into a stressful life full of lies.

Hope is the young woman who lives in the lighthouse now and has a serious case of agoraphobia. She has nightmares connected to the lighthouse. With the help of her friends Tracy and Clooney, she tries to unravel the mystery plaguing her.

Like in all of her books, the author throws in a cool twist to the story. It took me a lot longer than usual to figure it out. I tip my hat to her, she did a good job writing this book.
