Wish I Had a Nickel (The Sand Dollar Series Book 2)Wish I Had a Nickel by J.D. Boudreaux
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

You know that moment when you are reading a book and you realize that there isn’t enough time left in the story for everything YOU want to happen in it? Yeah, that happened to me with “Wish I Had a Nickle” by JD Boudreaux. This story is about Alex and Leigh, born two days apart and best friends since birth. Their mothers met in the hospital and became friends, and the children became very close. I don’t want to give anything away but time passes and Alex and Leigh reconnect, and that’s mostly where the story takes place. I love how JD Boudreaux laid out the story. It isn’t your common boy meets girl story told from each person’s side either. There are flashbacks and details that get sprinkled in that surprised me as a reader since most authors I’ve read don’t write like that, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! “Wish I Had a Nickle” was one of those books I didn’t want to end, as I loved being wrapped up in the story of Alex and Leigh. This is the second book in the Sand Dollar series. I did not read the first book and I do not think that hindered me at all while reading this one, but it is good to know and read in order if you feel you need to. I give “Wish I Had a Nickle” five stars, even if I wish it was longer! Fortunately for me, the next installment “The Broken Sand Dollar” comes out in February! I know I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for it!!
