My first book by Brittany Anne and what a great start to the Can’t Resist You series! The opening scene sets the stage, proving how evil and wrong, the group called UNR, really is.
The story line is set for after the fall of America and life as we know it. UNR is a group of power-hungry, evil people bent on destroying and enslaving any one against them. The Resistance is the group of people, hiding from the UNR because they are against everything the UNR believes in. The Resistance will fight to make things right while freeing mankind.
Rain is our main female character. Rain has a secret but after being completely alone for 2 years she doesn’t know who to trust or what to believe. Hunter is our main male character. He is one of the leaders of the Resistance. When Hunter is left for dead and Rain finds him and nurses him back to life, they both begin to hope for a different future. The only question is, can their future be better together? Or will her secret destroy everything.
I liked this story. It was easy to read and follow. The characters, even the secondary ones, were sassy, smart and likeable. I truly hope the rest of this series is just as good.
