This is definitely an original story. It was kind of like Dungeons and Dragons, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and the Wizard of Oz all rolled into one story. It is a fantastical journey into the imagination.
Caitlyn promised her Aunt Petunia that she would house sit while she went away for the weekend. Caitlyn’s friends pressured her to invite some guys over as well. Unexplainable things happen and they accidentally stumble upon a real live fairy. Having to save the fairy, they need to believe and take a leap of faith into a magical realm.
The action starts pretty much from the beginning and is quick paced. I did feel like the story was rushed at times. It would have been nice if the author incorporated the fairy a little more. I liked the underlying anti bullying theme that was happening. I enjoyed the book though I think it is better suited towards a younger audience.
