A Suitable Affair by Erica Taylor is the first book in the Macalisters series. This regency era book tells the story of Ian Carlisle, the Earl of Westcott and Lady Susanna Macalister. Susanna is accepting a marriage proposal from someone from Ian’s past. Can he help her before it’s too late?
I love a historical fiction story and this was good because it incorporated in some mystery and suspense which I prefer over just a romance. The characters are interesting and I can see that this series will be interesting since the Macalister family is so large. Overall the story was solid as well as the characters. I liked that there was some backstory and how the stories melded with one another. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.
