WTF, God?: Understanding God in the Midst of Transition by Michelle N. Onuorah

5 Stars

My first read by this author and Holy Moly what a read…I’m not a deeply religious person as far as the different religions, but I’m a sincere Christian and I completely appreciated this author sharing this story. It had me asking myself a lot of questions, some I really didn’t have answers to and others I felt like I was on the same page as this author.

I read this in about an hour and spent a bit of time after with many thoughts going through my head. As far as the writing style this author has, I loved it…Every word flowed perfectly and smoothly and I’m really looking forward to looking into her other books especially Jane…I really must read that book.

Thank you Miss Onuorah for sharing this story, I can not imagine it was easy to write but I am so thankful I was able to read it!

Awesome!

5 out of 5 stars

The book WTF, God?: Understanding God in the Midst of Transition by Michelle N. Onuorah is a story that is inspirational. I could feel that it is written from the heart and enjoyed the lessons that it gave. It is a story that is honest and beautifully told. It is a book that takes you through a period of the author’s life. It is a story about faith and includes the power of prayer in a person’s life. I enjoyed how the author told things that way they are and didn’t beat around the bush or try to minimize things. I found myself looking at my faith and relationship with Him in a different way. I enjoyed the personal experiences that the author gave and how she reacted to the good and bad times. It is a story that held my interest from the start to the ending page. It is a story that I would recommend reading. It was a joy to read.

What She Lost and Found
By: M.L. Garcia
5 out of 5 stars

The story What She Lost and Found by M.L. Garcia is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It is a story that hooked me in from the beginning and didn’t let go until the ending page. It is an emotional journey that I found both heartbreaking and heartwarming. I loved reading about the character of Daniela Franco. She is someone who because of the past doesn’t trust easily and is careful who she lets into her life. Her journey has her taking chances of building trust and includes the possibility of finding love. Reading about how Daniela feels is at times sad however there are other times that have her experiencing happiness. How will Daniela cope when secrets from the past begin to resurface? Read this book to find out. This story includes emotional dialogue. My emotions went up and down the entire time I read the story. I found myself angry and sad about some situations that happen. There are other times where you can’t help but feel the good emotions and hope that Daniela has. The story has additional characters that are introduced and I enjoyed reading about the part they play in Daniela’s life and their interactions with her. The story flows smoothly and was a joy to read. This is a book that touches the heart and has amazing characters. Don’t miss out on reading it. I would highly recommend it.

By: Jen Talty
5 out of 5 stars

The story Trouble’s Wedding Caper (Familiar Legacy Book 8) by Jen Talty is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It has both mystery and romance. It hooked me in right from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Annabel Wilder and Sheriff Ethan Farris. Annabel is a woman who is beautiful and independent. She is a treasure hunter and has found wonderful things when she bids and wins a storage unit. She soon finds herself caught up in an investigation headed by Ethan. Ethan shows himself to be protective of Annabel. Danger follows the investigation into a rash of wedding burglaries. Will Ethan be able to solve the burglaries? How much danger is Annabel in? Will Trouble, the black cat, help Ethan with his investigation? There is an attraction between Annabel and Ethan. Will they act on their feelings for each other? Read this book to find out. This is a story that at times had me wondering what was going to happen next. I felt like I was putting together a puzzle in order to find out the guilty one. I felt a connection with both Annabel and Ethan and grew to care about them with each chapter that I read. I wanted them to find happiness. I also loved the character of Trouble. His quick thinking and wit brought a smile to my face. Don’t miss out on a wonderful story that has amazing characters. I would highly recommend reading it.

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3) by Alicia Street – Review by Karyn Taylor

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3)Rainy Day Lovers by Alicia Street
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rainy Day Lovers is the 3rd book in the Rocklyns series by Alicia Street. Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone. This is the first book I have read by this author and if this book is anything to go by, I’ll be reading more.
Rainy Day Lovers is a short read (120 pages) but there’s so much packed into those 120 pages. It’s a heart-warming story which shows that if someone really believes in you and encourages you, you can achieve great things.
Raina (Rainy) Rocklyn has a heart of gold and will do anything to help others. One such act of kindness totally changed the life of homeless teenager Robbie Malako when she saved him from a brutal attack. Robbie had been badly burned in a fire and was badly disfigured which lead him to be the subject of abuse and attack.
Years later Raina meets handsome plastic surgeon Roman Blake at a family wedding. There is an instant attraction between them but Roman brushes her off and acts very coldly towards her. Life has other plans and the 2 are forced to spend time together. Unknown to Rainy, Roman is actually Robbie. Not long after the incident with Rainy he was adopted by a plastic surgeon who totally transformed his life.
This is a beautiful story with 2 characters that I adored. If you are looking for a quick read that will make you all warm and fuzzy inside then Rainy Day Lovers is the book for you.

Crossroads are an inevitable part of life. But how do you navigate them when your life is not your own?

At 22-years-old, Michelle Onuorah was a bestselling author, former runway model, and recent college graduate with the world at her fingertips…Or so she thought.

In a matter of weeks which turned into months…and eventually most of her twenties, the God of the universe systematically revealed that He was also the God of her life – and she was not. With breathtaking candor, razor sharp humor, and bold vulnerability, Michelle shares the ten key lessons she’s learned about God, life and understanding both in the midst of ceaseless transitions.

In her words, “This book is for those of you who believed with all your heart that you would end up in one place and somehow, despite following God – or maybe even because of it – ended up on a completely different path. This is for those of you who, though you love God, sometimes wonder who He even is. This is for those of you who choose to believe He’s still good.”

This book is for you.

Rule #1: Don’t fall in love.
As a single dad, my life revolves around my daughter. No complaints…until my ex-wife forces my hand over custody.
I needed a cover story. In steps Katharine Morello. My best friend’s sister is ready and willing to be my fake fiancée.
Overnight we’re engaged. A temporary arrangement.
No sex.
No strings attached.
No complications.
Easy, right?
Not quite. The last few months, I’ve been doing dirty things to her in my imagination. But that’s all they’ll ever be. Fantasies.

Rule #2: Don’t give in to temptation.
Neither of us is looking for a relationship. Been there. Done that. Even drank the Kool-Aid.
So, you see, I can resist beautiful, sexy Katharine. It doesn’t matter she’s hot as f*ck with an amazing personality to boot. All I have to do is NOT touch her.
I’ve got this.
Spoiler Alert…One night make-believe merges with reality. Sparks fly—and burn.
Now I want her. All of her.

Nothing But Trouble (Irresistible Billionaires Book 1) by Ashley Bostock – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Nothing But Trouble (Irresistible Billionaires #1)Nothing But Trouble by Ashley Bostock
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nothing But Trouble is book one in the Irresistible Billionaires series by Ashley Bostock. I adore a good billionaire romance and I can say this author produces some of the most memorable ones. The story just flowed along, with many bumpy sections, many glorious sections, many tense sections, and endless feelings of love, even when the chips were down.

Sophia is a character I admire. She did what she had to do. She loves with her whole being, and isn’t afraid to get dirty while doing what she needs to do. She didn’t have a lot of choices, but she accepted her lot in life, gor on with it, and dreamed for the future. No way did she accept that she didn’t have option. She just had to bide her time. Her heart was huge, and she just would not cave and wallow. She would rise and be who she wanted one day.

Michael was a mega rich man who had it all. Even things he didn’t want. Like shallow people trying to gain a free ride. He just wanted to find the “one”. When he was  burnt too many times, he decided to take what he needed and leave the emotional stuff to others. Not his angle, anymore. When he meets Sophia, he is a little blindsided. From her looks, her manner, her gentleness, and her innocence. Funny events occurred, and before he knew it, he had a fiancee!! Getting to know these two getting to know each other was enlightening and sweet. But secrets are revealled and their foundation shaken to the core.

Nothing But Trouble was a complete and dramatic romance. It had so much, and the author delicately unveiled each snippet so achingly alluring, I was hanging off every word. So addictive. So tantalising. Reading this story was unforgettable enjoyment. 5 stars.

By Meghan O’Flynn

I have read all the books in the Ash Park series and they were wonderful twisted stories. I was so excited when this one came out, and I’m glad to know I wasn’t disappointed. The author did another amazing job weaving suspense into her story and I loved getting to know Petrosky better. This book gave me more backstory into the horrific and heartbreaking things that Petrosky has been through and what makes him who he has become. I was sucked into this story from the beginning and on the edge if my seat throughout. The ending completely caught me off guard and I wouldn’t expect anything less from this exceptional author. This is a definite must read!! I give this book 5 stars and highly recommend this book

Salvation: An Ash Park Prequel Novella by Meghan O’Flynn is a five star novel. I love that this author has taken us back to the beginning with Ed Petrosky so that we could see exactly how he turned out the way he did later in life. We are taken on a journey of discovery when Ed’s girlfriend, Heather is murdered. The other detectives in the office thinks that she is not worthy of figuring out what happened to her but Ed can’t get the bloody images out of his dreams. He knows he needs to figure out what happened and he never expected the dark and twisty road his work would take him down. This book was a page turner and I could not put it down!

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3) by Alicia Street – Review by Jana Teppih

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3)Rainy Day Lovers by Alicia Street
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rainy Day Lovers is the third book in Alicia Street’s The Rocklyns’ series. As the writer says, you can read all the books in the series as standalones so that is also what I did, I started with book three! I have not read anything else by this writer so I was curious when reading the blurb so I decided to pick up a copy!
I was right! Alicia has given us a beautiful contemporary love story with two amazing characters – Raina and Roman. They were so realistic, you could simply close your eyes and picture this story in front of your eyes, like walking along them … I loved the complexity of the characters and how the wrier spun the story, there was something about the two of them, the way they met, the paths the life took them down on … the sadness, the tension, the attraction, the passion …
I loved the split point of view telling of story that added another layer of reality to the characters as it pushes us deeper into who they are … ALSO, let’s not forget about all those secondary characters that make us wish for their own story so it means I need to go and read the other stories in the series and keep an eye on the next one!

Four Stars

Caught in the Spin is the second book in the Caught series by Sharleen Scott. Although you can read this book asa standalone, I would highly recommend you read the series in order, there are recurring characters and some spoilers to the first book if you don’t read them in order. Plus they are both excellent reads. This story had me hooked from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. It is filled with action and suspense that had me guessing what would be coming next. Tom and Tallie are relatable characters, with trust issues and Tallie has a dangerous past following her. I love how Ms. Scott brings the stories together with well defined characters and emotional twists that will have you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend this book, series and author. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This was my first read by this author and I really enjoyed this story! It may be book 3 but i was able to read this as a standalone.
While I enjoyed this book, I also felt the two main characters were kind of rushed. We got a little back story, and then they’re kind of thrust together and there wasn’t much “woo-ing” they just sort of were. I just wanted a little bit more from that otherwise this was a realpy great storyline and something different that I haven’t read before.
Will be reading the rest of this series now!

Caught in the Spin (The Caught Series Book 2) by Sharleen Scott – Review by Michelle Austin

Caught in the SpinCaught in the Spin by Sharleen Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Caught in the Spin was a thrilling 5 star read and book two in the Caught Series.
I loved book one and was excited to get my hands on this one.

Tallie meets Tom when she goes to deliver some paperwork to Clay. She recognizes him as one of her favorite bull riders, which affected Tom in a negative way and brought back memories of not being able to bull ride anymore.

Tom suffered severe injuries that cost him his riding career. He also has suffered a heart break that he’s trying to get past, and when he gets some shocking news his world is turned upside down. When he turns to Tallie for help they end up growing closer.

When Tallie gets some disturbing news herself she’s ready to run. She confides in Tom who offers to help her. Can he keep Tallie and her son Cody safe?

This story had so many emotional levels, both Tom and Tallie had their own issues that brought them together. Having each other really helped them work through things. I loved both Cody and Mike as well these two boys connected on such a level that really tugged at my heartstrings. All of the secondary characters were great and I really liked seeing Clay and Harlie again. The ending is great and I hope to see more from these two. If you’re looking for a great read than I highly suggest reading this series. You can read this book as a stand alone but I suggest starting with book one.

The Monster’s Lover (The Fenris Series Book 1) by Samantha MacLeod – Review by Erica Fish

The Monster's LoverThe Monster’s Lover by Samantha MacLeod
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Monster’s Lover by Samantha MacLeod is an excellent addition to the books I have read by Ms. MacLeod. This story has a mythological component that makes me even more interested in the story. This tale is based on the Norse Myth of Fenir, which is about a monstrous wolf. Not only are there mythological components, but also fantasy, action adventure and a little romance thrown in. Ms. MacLeod has complex story pattern that reminds me of a spider’s web. Everything is so interconnected that not even one pebble is out of place. Since I knew of her writing pattern, I was prepared to read the story in one sitting. I was right to think so. I felt like I was there in the story and riding along just out of sight of the characters. This story is about Sol who has been promised to the harem of King Kokkyn. Sol’s mother could not meet her payments and Sol was the price for her family to eat over the winter. Sol goes to clean up in the river and she meets Fenris. That was the beginning and the end for Sol. She cannot get Fenris out of her mind. You will have to read more to get the full story. I cannot wait to see what is next for Sol and Fenris.

The Monster’s Lover (The Fenris Series Book 1) by Samantha MacLeod – Review by Emily Walsh

The Monster's Lover (The Fenris Series Book 1)The Monster’s Lover
BySamantha MacLeod
My Rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Monster’s Lover (The Fenris Series Book 1) by Samantha MacLeod was a hot, steamy, fast read, that had me hooked!

Not my first read dorm this author, so I expect good things.. if you know what I mean..”wink, wink“..

Right away I was pulled into this new world and I didn’t want to leave. Sure, is there insta-lust, an unrealistic hot male MC, and a overly gorgeous female MC that everyone wants… yes, but hell, none of that matters. Why? Because the writing was phenomenal. For a short read at 110 pages, no detail was spared. The flow was smooth and the transitions near perfection. In a short amount of time raw emotions were conveyed, connections made and dread pooled in my gut, as things took a dark turn towards the end. I almost put the boor down cause I fear the worst! It’s been awhile since I emotionally connected with a book like that, and wow, just wow.

As this book is so short I’m not going to give you anything that might spoil this hot wonder. Just know that this book will sweep you off your feet like Fenris did with Sol. (BTW I want me a Fenris) So please take my ultimate high recommendation and my golden stamp of approval, that you will fall deep into this otherworldly book and not want to come up for air.

Happy Reading

Nothing But Trouble (Irresistible Billionaires Book 1) by Ashley Bostock – Review by Heather Bahm

Nothing But Trouble (Irresistible Billionaires #1)Nothing But Trouble by Ashley Bostock
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ashley Bostock’s Nothing But Trouble is the first book of the Irresistible Billionaires series. This romance was cute and appealing in how it approached online dating, or at least, the use of an online dating tool. Michael and Sophia’s characters were each seeking something and found something other than what they were initially planning on. Life always seems to have a way of throwing those curve balls at us when least expected. That is fully showcased in this story. I found the characters fun, witty, and challenged in their own individual ways. The drama added some additional spice to the story to overcome, but it was done in a way that fit with the story line and theme. This is a series for any romance lover to read, as it features a savvy, sexy and irresistible billionaire and includes some hot chemistry alongside it.

The past influences so much of this story and the way the author laid out this story was beautifully done despite the raw, emotional and difficult topics that are brought into the story. Luke is one of the main characters of this story and he exudes protectiveness with his past determining strong parts of his personality and his stance on many topics. Enter Emily who is her own unique, determined and strong character. There is something about her that draws Luke to her. This story if full of drama, intense chemistry, and discussion of turning points in their lives, along with defining moments. This is one heck of an intro to the series and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next to see what Madison Quinn brilliantly comes up with next!

The Future Memoir of Ann Jones: A Time Travel Romance with a Splash of Magic by Alex Bailey – Review by Sara Oxton

The Future Memoir of Ann Jones: A Time Travel Romance with a Splash of MagicThe Future Memoir of Ann Jones: A Time Travel Romance with a Splash of Magic by Alex Bailey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Future memoir of Ann Jones by Alex Bailey a four-star read that will take you places. This one will likely confuse you at times when you first start reading but keep reading as it does unfold and you will understand the whole pot of crazy that goes on, the twists do become clear and this dark wonder becomes clear. The author has a great talent at giving just enough information to keep you hooked but not too much that it gets nuts. There are far to many characters to mention as I don’t want to leave any of these amazing characters out, my only issue was I felt it did go on a little and it was crazy at the beginning but it did pull it together overall.

Beneath The Surface (A Gray Ghost Series Book 3) by Amy McKinley – Review by Karyn Taylor

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beneath The Surface is the 3rd book in the Gray Ghost series by Amy McKinley. This is 4th book I have read by this author (there is also a prequel to this series). I have loved all the books so far and this one was no exception. I really hope that Amy McKinley continues this series. The books in this series can be read as a standalone but I would certainly recommend reading the whole series.
Like the rest of this series, this book had me gripped from start to finish. I absolutely adored Jack and Hannah’s story. They had been involved with each other many years before, but when the plane Hannah is travelling on with her boss is hijacked, it’s the Gray Ghost team that come to rescue.
Jack and Hannah’s world come crashing together but is Hannah really who Jack thinks she is. Is Hannah really a spy working for the enemy? Hannah is a Russian sleeper agent who has been planted by the Pentagon but are her allegiances still with Russia or has the suffering they put her family through made her allegiances lie elsewhere?
The chemistry between Jack and Hannah is still high and they struggle to fight their feelings for each other. Can they trust each other and work together to overcome the enemy and have a future together? Read this fantastic book to find out. You won’t be disappointed.

A Suitable Affair (The Macalisters Book 1) By Erica Taylor – Review by Katie Kearney

A Suitable Affair (The Macalisters, #1)A Suitable Affair by Erica Taylor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Suitable Affair (The Macalisters Book 1) By Erica Taylor. Ok so first of all this wouldn’t be my normal reading but I will say this book was incredible. From page one I was completely drawn into this storyline and it’s wonderful characters. The storyline had me guessing and completely entranced which came as a welcome surprise because it truly isn’t in my normal wheelhouse of reading. This is why one should always have an open mind. The author does a wonderful job of writing characters that readers want to know all about and the attention to details doesn’t go unnoticed. This is my first book by this author and I truly can’t wait for more. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it to everyone no matter your preference on genres.

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1) by Via Mari – Review by Naomi McDonald

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1)Shattered by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Shattered is the first book in the Torzial Affair series. It ends in a cliffhanger.

While this is the first book in this particular series, not having read the previous series (Prestian series), I felt like something was missing. The author does a good job of working in elements from events I assume are present in the previous series, so it isn’t like you can’t pick up what is going on; I just feel like it would have a more complete feel if I had more of a connection to the supporting characters. For anyone new to this author, I definitely suggest reading the other series first.

Shattered contains sensitive material that may trigger some readers. The author does have a preface in the book regarding this, which is very thoughtful. I liked that the author did not downplay the affects of Jenny’s hardship experience on her mental health.

This book was a quick read for me and overall was a good escape from reality for a bit.

The Future Memoir Of Ann Jones by Alex Baily

5-stars

The Future Memoir Of Ann Jones was an excellent novel with a little time travel and magic. The author pulls you in to the interesting hype about the secret knitting club and as the reader you can’t help but wonder just what is going on. There were crazy rules the members had to follow. I loved Ann’s character and how she changed over time. She was so focused and creative. I also loved how her relationship with Ben started out. I was laughing at the attempts he made to get her on a date. He was determined. This was such a magical and wonderful read!

The Shape of Trust (A Stand By Me Novel Book 5) by Brinda Berry – Review by Krystal Gregory

The Shape of Trust (Stand By Me, #5)The Shape of Trust by Brinda Berry
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Shape of Trust (a Stand By Me novel Book 5) by Brinda Berry
4 out of 5 Stars

This new aged adult romance novel is a fun, easy paced book about growing into yourself and moving past old expectations and learning from past mistakes.
Webb and Lily and two wonderfully diverse characters who are perfect;y opposite. Webb was a wild man. A man who lived large and partied harder. He has a fortune from busting his butt to get to the top and now the party scene just isn’t as appealing as it use to be.
Lily. Her sweet soul. She is just trying to make the best of what life has given her. It hasn’t always been easy for Lily. School was difficult because of a learning disability and she is just trying to establish herself in this cruel world.
This is where Webb meets Lily. Webb’s 5 year old daughter is thrust into his life and its sink or swim time for him. Luckily, Lily is a lifeboat.
The banter between these two is hilarious. The author crafted an amazing story. I loved reading this story from cover to cover and was left breathless when it ended. A absolutely beautiful story.
