The Chosen in the first book in The Orb Quest Series by Cari Schaeffer. It is a great YA fantasy full of adventure, magic, action, danger, secrets, discoveries, and fun. It has a (teenage) “Relic Hunters” x “The Librarians” x “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” feel to the story. As I have come to expect from Ms. Schaeffer, she created a vivid, detailed and descriptive story, with wonderful scenes and backdrops to her captivating story. The characters were somewhat quirky and interesting and really drew me into the story. This is a very quick and easy read- but, personally, I would have love to have read a longer, more in-depth version of the story- so I could really explore and get ‘lost’ in it.
If you love YA fantasy and adventure, grab yourself a copy and join Gemma and her friends in a race against time- as there is a lot at stake in this quest for the Orbs.
