Turning the Tide (Eastern Shore Swingers #5) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Maura Harper

Turning the Tide (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 5)Turning the Tide by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I want to start this review with a caveat: There is a subject matter in this book that is a hard no for a lot of readers. It is not a hard no for me, so I didn’t care. While reading it, I had to reverse the genders to understand what was going. I consider myself a pretty forward thinking human, but this story tripped me up and I’m ashamed for that. Once I was able to settle in, I enjoyed the story very much.

I have enjoyed this series. It’s nice to see characters we’ve met in the past make appearances again, and with the other stories in this series – all is not as it appears to be.

This is a multi-layered suspense with twists and turns and great energy. No words are wasted and each character plays an important role in the unfolding story.

As with all of the other stories in this series, it can be read as a stand-alone because it has a very clear beginning, middle, and end. The plot moves at a great pace and I was able to stay engaged in the story from cover to cover.

I recommend this story, this series, and absolutely this author.
