The Last Dance (The Sorrel Janes Mysteries) by Lonna Enox – Review by Elizabeth Sanchez
The Last Dance by Lonna Enox
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The Last Dance is a wonderful book by Lonna Enox. I haven’t read anything of hers before, but I was really impressed with this story. It is a crime mystery, and it had me guessing until the very end. Literally, the epilogue at the end wrapped it up for me. I wish the story didn’t end so abruptly, but I wave happy with the way everything tied together and the mysteries were revealed at the end. The characters were great, and I love that there was a bit of mystery to them as well. Sorrell and Reed had their moments, but it didn’t cross that line into a romance novel. I highly recommend it, and can’t wait to read more by Enox.
The story focuses around Sorrel, a recent widow who has moved to a small town in New Mexico to start over. She is running, or hiding from, the people who murdered her husband, and is hoping to escape and start over. She used to be a local celebrity as a news anchor, so she is learning to fly under the radar, and not doing a very good job. She seems to be in the middle of everything in her new town, despite her efforts. She finds herself connected to local crime, and works together with local detective Reed, to try to solve them, and prove her innocence.
