Proper Impulse (Jaded Lily Book 4) By Zeia Jameson. I absolutely loved this story. Seriously wish I could read it again for the first time. From page one I was hooked, although I’ll be honest after the other books I knew I’d probably like this one as well. But “like” it isn’t a strong enough phrase I LOVED IT! The characters are complex and relatable and just had a way that had me sinking into their story. The author has a way of making words jump off the pages and come alive before your eyes. I love a story that makes me forget time and where I’m at and this one while short does just that. I’m excited to see where the author takes readers next. Five stars all the way!

The Fisher Men X My Heart is book one in the Fisher Men Series by Rebel Nicks O’Dey. I have to say that this is the first book I have read by this author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the whole book. Rebel has written this book in such a way that you just can’t pick a favorite character. The story just flows nicely and how lucky is Samantha to have had these gorgeous men in her life. More so she is so lucky to have had them protect her when she needed them to. I wasn’t sure what to expect when opening this book up. Both of these authors are new to me but boy am I ever glad I took a chance on this short book. From start to finish the action-packed pages left me feeling like I had more story than I would have anticipated I would find in such a short book. The authors did a fantastic job leaving this tale of shifters into a new house I didn’t anticipate. It opened a world wide open for a series to continue. I simply cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. Extremely well written and well done. Loved it!

5-Stars

Captivity: A Paranormal Romance Novella (Captivity Book 1) by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk was an exciting and fast paced novel. This is the first novel I have read by these authors and I can tell that this will be an awesome series. I loved the numerous paranormal shifters in the storyline. I felt the authors did an excellent job describing them and giving each their own creative personality. I enjoyed both Aiden and Lorelei as the main characters but I definitely favored Lorelei more. I loved her spunk and how dedicated she was to finding her lost love. She was also strong and determined. I really enjoyed this easy read. I can’t wait to read more in this series. I definitely feel it deserves the 5-stars and I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was easy to follow along what was happening in the present and what happened in the past. I liked how we got history in mythology throughout the story. The characters were fun and the friendships they shared made it that much better of a read. The author did awesome with the characters in keeping them young yet didn’t make them completely stupid as sometimes I have noticed happens in some books when dealing with teenagers. I thought this story was entertaining and kept me captivated throughout. I highly recommend this wonderful read. I have read other books by this author and if you like fantasy I suggest you check out other books from her, you will not be disappointed.

The Dreamer’s Vengeance by Helen Tyree is a wonderfully written fantasy that I loved diving into. What made me want to read this book was the darkness I read in the synopsis. Fantasy with darkness truly is has become a favorite and this book quickly became a topped my list. The author gave us storyline that was creative, intriguing, well written. The characters full you right in right along with the vivid details. This was my first book by this author and I have to say I want and need to read more!

Ruin: The El Diablo Chronicles by Autumn Sand – Review by Erica Fish

Ruin (The El Diablo Chronicles)Ruin by Autumn Sand
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ruin: The El Diablo Chronicles by Autumn Sand is a steamy story about Tallie and Raymond. Autumn Sand has a way of keeping my interest in the story (especially romance is not my first choice of material). Her descriptive wording is what keeps me interested. I love her characters and the story line. Tallie is a woman who keeps herself guarded. She doesn’t like to show herself to every Tom, Dick, and Henry. She is reserved and doesn’t want to get hurt. In the next breath she knows what she wants and doesn’t care what the cost may be. Raymond is another person who appears to be closely guarded as well. He has a strict code and lives by that code. So what happens when Tallie meets Raymond? You will have to read the story to get that information.

Orion's KissOrion’s Kiss by Claire Luana
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Orion’s Kiss by Claire Luana is an interesting story. The description says it is YA Paranormal Romance, but saying that I would categorize it as MA. This is a mythological story and grabbed my interest for that point alone. It is was written beautifully. I could not stop reading the book until I read the last page. One main reason I would call this MA is because of the undertones of the words. It has face value meaning which makes it YA, but if you understand the undertones it takes on a whole new meaning. Merope is the youngest of seven sisters who sees visions of her sister’s death. Orion is the one who murders her sisters all so long ago. She needs to kill him to break the curse put on her and sisters. Will Merope be able stop Orion or will this be her curse forever?

The Trouble with Paradise (Madeline Dawkins #4)The Trouble with Paradise by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

With even more page turning suspense and a little extra romance for Madeline and Mike, the fourth installment of the Madeline Dawkins Mysteries is fantastic. Two different women with dead husbands need help for almost opposite reasons. One isn’t convinced of her husband’s suicide and the other might have been framed for her husband’s bizarre death. Madeline’s trash bag ex asks for help and out of the goodness of his heart, Mike says yes. Yes, the help is for Lindsay but I still think Steve had some nerve even asking.
Mike and Madeline have hearts really too good for their world and are prepared to do whatever it takes to help these two women.

This was a super quick read and my first read by both of these authors, I completely enjoyed the whole story and if I didn’t know there were more books to read after this one I would have been sincerely upset with that ending but thankfully there is more to come.

I’m just beginning to read more paranormal fantasy type reads and although I did enjoy this, it moved quite fast and I didn’t have enough time to connect completely to these characters and really get a grasp on the whole shifter pet aspect. I am truly looking forward to reading more because my interest is definitely peaked and the writing styles of these authors was amazing.

I do recommend this especially to fantasy fans and can’t wait for the next.

The Dreamer’s Vengeance by Helen Tyree – Review by Sarah Oakes

The Dreamer's VengeanceThe Dreamer’s Vengeance by Helen Tyree
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great read about vengeance. Many years ago, a fleet of humans invaded a magical island of winged people, the Israami. Now, seventy five years later, the Israami are dying from a mysterious disease. Desperate to something about it, young Caexia sets off across the sea. But as danger follows her flight and events unravel, can she save her people?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Caexia determined but kind underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the reluctant Jaisa or the uncertain Graythen.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the crimson sunset or silver moon or the black wings in vibrant colours bold and beautiful, adding more of a sense of 3onder to this world, perfectly written. Or the sense of nature in the jungle and underground with its sights and sounds and smells so vivid its as if you’re actually there.
A wonderful addition to the fantasy genre with magical creatures in a beautiful setting trying to right an ancient wrong steeped in their own lore. I also liked the use of suspense with the story of the daughter with details revealed slowly to keep you reading to find out what happened. I also liked the use of pathetic fallacy with the storms giving a sense of unease with foreboding bad events to the reader. Fast paced action and high stakes in a fantasy world made for a captivating read. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Orion’s Kiss by Claire Luana a fantasy of a four-star read. This is sublime, I adore Greek mythology and adventure, and this is so well done, it will take you on a path that you need to follow. Mer is a great character and she tells a great story, this was mythology with a twist and so much more thrown in, there is light romance and drama so much drama. There is pain and darkness, but it is YA so its not that dark overall, just a good story that will keep you hooked.

Ooohhh I do love a good enemies to lovers romance and Proper Impulse was a brilliant example of that! I loved the story from the very beginning and I absolutely LOVED Milo! There was just something about him, he had this sexy, serious side to him – he was very professional in his job role and I think that kind of carried over into his personal life too! Juniper on the other hand was the opposite to him, very free spirited but with a wonderful stubborn streak! She is more than happy to break the rules if she feels it’s needed! I knew that as soon as these two met there would be an attraction but I also knew sparks would fly!
I have read other books by this author previously and I just love her writing style, so easy to read, the flow and pace is always perfect and do love the character she creates. I cannot wait to read more from Ms Jameson again in the future!

The Debt Collector (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 1) by India Kells is a five star novel. I love when an author is so descriptive with their words that it makes you feel like you are a part of the book and actually there with the characters. That’s how this novel is. The author has painted beautiful scenes of hot, steamy romance. But apart from that, there is a whole other part of the story where Tessa gets kidnapped for helping girls from a slave ring in her emergency room. But then Locke comes along and rescues her. Will he be able to keep her out of harms way or will she need to continue to be frightened of what might be around the other corner.

The Debt Collector (An Underground Bad Boys Romance)The Debt Collector by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Debt Collector is the first novel in the Underground Bad Boys series by India Kells. This is my fourth novel by this author.

Doctor Tessa Freeman is thrown in a dangerous situation when she helps girls in the ER and finds herself in the slave ring.

Locke is a mysterious man that helps her.

Though he is distant, there is also an attraction the two and the deal that he comes up with as payment surprises Tessa. Locke brings in his best friend Gabe as part of the deal and things get more intense for Tessa.

I really enjoyed the premise and the characters especially the relationship between Tessa and Locke. Locke has some secrets and felt something more for Tessa and only wanted to protect her while protecting his own heart.

For anyone looking for steamy scenes with a twist, I recommend.

The Debt Collector: An Underground Bad Boys Romance
By India Kells
5 Stars

The Debt Collector: An Underground Bad Boys Romance by India Kells is suspenseful, M/M/F erotic romance. Dr. Tessa Freeman has a knack for taking care of others while working in the E.R. She is always ready to help regardless of how much danger her patient is in. She has been able to help girls that have found themselves in a dangerous situation and has been able to keep them safe. While working in the E.R., Tessa meets Locke who comes in to tend to his injuries. This mysterious, beautiful man captures her attention in every which way. After a very long shift at work, Tessa is kidnapped by a dangerous slave ring. Unbeknownst to Tessa, Locke would save her from danger but she must give up her freedom in order to stay alive. Will Tessa be able to agree to the terms Locke presents to her in exchange for her freedom in 6 months? This storyline captivates your attention from the moment you start reading. There are intense, hot scenes that included M/M and M/M/F. If you are sensitive to ménage a trois and male/male relations, this book is not for you. The suspense of the possible danger that Tessa is in and hot scenes, will leave you on the edge of your seat and also fanning yourself. I recommend this book and look forward to reading more books by India Kells.

THE DREAMERS VENGEANCE is the first book I’ve read by this author and I enjoyed the visual writing. It is a story with great world building and lots of detailed character. This book drew me in right from the beginning. It is an original plot that I found intriguing. The author made this book so enriched with details that I could feel like I was right there in the thick of it. I read this book in one sitting because I so hooked I needed to know how the prophecy would be fulfilled. The characters came to life for me as I read and it wasn’t until I got further into the story that I could discern between who was good and who was evil. This is the first book I have read by this author but it will not be my last. The author did such an exceptional job weaving a wonderful fantasy world full of magic and so much more. I highly recommend this book.

TWO HEARTS UNDER FIRE (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 8)
by Tamara Ferguson

Two Hearts Under Fire was a good 5 star read and book eight in the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior series.

I was pulled in right from the beginning, Russ and his team are attacked during a transport in Iraq. We jump ahead and Russ feels like he has been set up and is now facing charges. When he goes to his friends house to ask for his help, he ends up getting more than he expected.

Claire is hiding from her abusive ex and is staying with her best friend Sarah and her fiance, Brand. This is where Russ ends up meeting Claire. They end up getting attacked by a gunman at Brand’s apartment. They are able to get away and flee out of state headed for Wisconsin where their friends are. Who is the gunman after, Claire or Brand? Can they survive?

As these two spend more time together sparks start to fly. You can feel the connection between them coming off the pages. Tamara does a great job of pulling you right in with her writing. I was on the edge of my seat at every turn waiting to see what was coming next. This is an action packed with great characters. If you’re looking for a great series that can be read as a stand alone than 1-click and get started today. I can’t wait to read more from Tamara and this series.

Captivity (Captivity Book 1)Captivity
By: Sarah Biglow
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Captivity: A Paranormal Romance Novella by Molly Zenk & Sarah Biglow was a unique heart clutching read, that had me hooked from start to finish.

My first read from both authors, I didn’t know what I was getting into; but I’m glad I took a chance on this short yet powerful read. It’s told from dual POV, and I like that we get both side to this tragic love story. It starts out dark, and it was that darkness that pulled me in, and as the story switches’ POV’s, as I’ve said, we get both sides of the coin, and two sides of different darknesses.

Now as this is a novella, and is only about 119 pages, this book moves fast and it does end on a very abrupt cliffhanger. But there are other books in the series, so all is not lost. Though I don’t mind if there’s cliffhangers, this one just felt off, as it was more like the story stopped, rather then ending in mystery. It’s hard to explain in words what I mean, like a song ending on a fade out, vs one just ending, I guess is a good way to put it.

Overall though, this book was unique, original and flowed with a smooth rhythm that you can’t help but get sucked into. I loved the writing style and I loved the way the two MC’s had to untangled the mess of their love. And of course the suspense and action that came with it. This book is worth your time and energy, and it gets my super high recommedantion and my stamp of approval.

TWO HEARTS UNDER FIRE (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 8)TWO HEARTS UNDER FIRE
By: Tamara Ferguson
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

TWO HEARTS UNDER FIRE (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 8) by Tamara Ferguson was a pretty okay read that kept me flipping the pages.

Not my first read from this author or in this series, so I knew what I was getting into. I am so happy that I finally got to read about Claire, as she has made a few appearances, and I’ve always wonder and worried about her. This book was centred around her and Russ, and though this book started out fast, furious, and dangerous; I liked the chemistry, their growth, and the romance. It kind of reminded me of those old cheesy action 90’s movies. (That I love)

So yeah, I fell hard for this wonder. I’m not going to get into too deep, cause this isn’t an overall long read, coming in at 167, it flew by in what felt like minutes. I will say that the ending felt a little rushed. Like, if needed there was some time when they were on the run, that could have moved faster to save time for the ending, especially if the author was saving on the page count. But overall this book hit all the hot points for me. Loveable characters, natural romantic growth, action, danger, assassins, some good old hand to hand combat, tragic back stories, and of course, sexual tension that you could hardly see through.

This book is a solid 4 for me, and I hope there is more to come. So to end, this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading

Orion’s Kiss by Claire Luana is a fresh take on the story of Orion and Merope. Sworn enemies through many lifetimes but can they break the everlasting curse that has been put upon them. I enjoyed the updated take on Greek mythology and that it is targeted to a YA audience. I do believe people of all ages can enjoy this story and get a little bit of a lesson in mythology also. The characters are interesting and very well described. I felt at times they should have been a little older but just my opinion. Overall, this is a fun, enjoyable read. The Debt Collector by India Kells was an intriguing book right from the start. I wasn’t sure how it was going to play out or even if it was going to be something I liked. From the beginning I was pretty hooked and I was able to finish rather quickly. There are a few things I was rather new to reading in this book. I haven’t read a lot of the ménage stuff and I tend to stay away from books with sex trafficking/ slave rings just because it tends to make me so mad I can’t concentrate on much else. However this book has that stuff but it’s done well enough that it added to the story. Overall the writing was great and I was into it the whole time. This is my first book by this author but won’t be my last. 5 star rating!
