The Debt Collector (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 1) by India Kells

4-stars

The Debt Collector (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 1) by India Kells was a steamy romance novel. Tessa is just a normal ER doc who occasionally has the chance to save girls escaping from a sex ring. Her latest rescue leads to her kidnapping and ultimately leading to her rescue from a hottie she recently treated for possible stab wounds. He now has taken over her debt but in order to return to her life safely she has to make a deal with him and his friend.

This was a fast paced steamy Romance that was very entertaining. I felt that there were good antagonist and protagonist with this storyline. I felt that it had an excellent climax and that the author did an amazing job with detail. It was easy to picture each scene. I really enjoyed this read.

The Dreamer's VengeanceThe Dreamer’s Vengeance by Helen Tyree
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Helen Tyree is a new author to me and for my first read from her, I read the brilliant Dreamer’s Vengeance. I was totally drawn to this book just by reading the synopsis and then it made it even better by it being a fantasy read. I’ve been reading a lot of books lately that are very mentally visual and this book is no different. This book has action and adventure and it flows from chapter to chapter with a great pace that was easy to follow.
Another brilliant thing with this read was the characters I couldn’t wait to see where their journey would take them.
I’m so glad I got to experience this read it is a book that holds you captive until the very end!

I cant wait to see what else this author brings. I will be on the lookout for all of Helen Tyree’s future books.

Proper Impulse (Jaded Lily Book 4) by Zeia Jameson – Review by Lisa Helmick

Proper ImpulseProper Impulse by Zeia Jameson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Whoop! Whoop! I LOVED this story! I really enjoyed these two spitfire characters. Each trying desperately to hold onto their beliefs. They are like oil and water. These well written characters make a huge splash! Then add in the wonderful story that surrounds them and this is a recipe for success.

Milo is so uptight and such a rule follower and Juniper is so open hearted that when they clash it’s an explosion. I love the nickname she calls him. But once the nice Milo comes out things change a bit. The look they give each other is so intense…I can feel that! Then Milo goes and opens his mouth and Boom!…there goes the moment. Hahaha! He is forever inserting Foot in mouth around Juniper.

This author does another amazing job with these characters. Even though this is a Novella I don’t feel anything is missing from this wonderful story. Each character had growth and the story rounded out nicely. This is a funny, OMGosh and “He DIDN’T just do/say that!” type of story with a hidden gem underneath.

Whom Shall I Kiss... An Earl, A Marquess, or A Duke? (Tricking the Scoundrels #1)Whom Shall I Kiss… An Earl, A Marquess, or A Duke? by Laura A. Barnes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Whom Shall I Kiss…An Earl, A Marquess, or a Duke? By Laura Barnes is a historical romance story. The flow of the story is a nice and steady pace. Barnes puts a lot of effort into making the story match the time period she is writing about. The characters are so descriptive that you feel like you are in the same era as they are. The story is about Sidney Hartridge and her theory. She wants to kiss these three men and find out which one would protect her honor. Things didn’t go as planned. What happens to the theory? What happens to her honor? What would you do if your father agrees to suiter that is apart of your theory test subjects?

Orion’s Kiss by Claire Luana – Review by Liz Vrchota

Orion's KissOrion’s Kiss by Claire Luana
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really hate to be a downer but this book really missed a few points for me. Claire Luana isn’t new to me and I have enjoyed a few of her other books so I was hopeful when my eye caught the beautiful cover. If only the book had more of that, well beauty for lack of a better word. I enjoyed the parts where Greek mythology came into play and loved that the characters centered on that concept were strong and reminiscent. However the twist for me just didn’t stick. Murderous teens that get thwarted with happenstance just fell short. I felt as if maybe the struggle came with trying to steer this towards a young adult reading audience. It to me should be new adult and I feel if the pressure to make this a ‘teen’ book was removed the characters could have that added development that would take the book home for me. Otherwise the writing was strong when it came to descriptive world building and vivid scenes to make you feel as if you are right there with the characters. This is one thing I have always loved about Claire Luana’s writing so I was happy to see it still strong. While this one wasn’t for me I will for sure be back to see what will come next from her!

Proper Ink is the second bookin the Jaded Lily series by Zeia Jameson. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I recommend you read the series in order. The first book, Proper Irish is also an outstanding read. This story suck me in on the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until I reach the last. I love the emotions this book bring, laughing one minute and crying the next. Luca and Kerry are both lovable, but have been hurt and are mainly closed off to their emotions. It was impressive to see them explore their relationship. I would highly recommend this book, series and author. I’m looking forward to reading the next bookin the series.

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria DeBlassie – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily ConjuringsEveryday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria DeBlassie
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Maria DeBlassie’s Everyday Enchantments is a collection of short reflections on the magic of everyday life. DeBlassie’s writing is wonderfully descriptive – I could often taste and smell what I was reading!
At times I found stylistic inconsistencies a bit jarring. Although most of the book was written in second person, immersing the reader in the scenes described, there were occasional passages in first person and a couple in third. This could be a hangover from the blog posts that inspired this book, but editing could have produced a more consistent, flowing style.
This is a good book for dipping in and out of, although it can also be read cover-to-cover. The reflections remind the reader to appreciate the world around them and make time to look after themselves. It’s an inspiring, comforting read!
For me, this is a three-star book. I enjoyed the descriptive detail in many of the passages but overall found the style a little odd. The second-person narrative would work better if the book was less focused on the author’s personal experiences – whilst there were some that were relatable, the vast majority at least included aspects that I had little or no experience of. A first-person narrative might have been more appropriate.
I would recommend this to readers interested in magic and how it relates to everyday life. If you’re not sure whether or not to get this book, why not start by reading DeBlassie’s blog to get a taste of her style!

WOW!!! Let me start by saying HOT SIZZLING HOT!!!! I devoured this book in one sitting. It wasn’t what I was expecting it to be… but it was sooo much better! The attraction between not only Locke and Tessa but also him and Gage is palpable. Mrs. Kells has a way of drawing you in and making you feel exactly what Tessa feels. I was on the edge of my seat reading as fast as I could. I felt her fear and frustration. I felt her desire and confusion. I felt her heart. If you like erotic romances, this book is for you. If you like mystery and suspense, this book is for you. If you are wanting to try to read something that has male on male scenes, and are unsure of it, read this one. You won’t regret it. The writing was great and the character description was flawless. I am thrilled that I found this book, and I look forward to reading more in the series!

I didn’t think I could love this series anymore and then this book arrives – and what an absolutely amazing read it was! The storyline, the characters and the writing just made this book a fantastic 5 star book in my opinion – it’s a book I couldn’t put down at all. Fitz and Bella were so amazing to read about – they just had something about them that drew me into them straight away. They just had such a great, natural chemistry between them; they just seemed to fit perfectly. As with all of her books the author has a way of making you feel as though you are part of the story, I always find that I am absorbed into the lives of the characters. This may have been a story on the short side but believe me it was not short on story at all.
Happily Ever After was an amazing 5 star read, one that I would highly recommend and I cannot wait to read more from this author again in the future.

Bound continues right where we left off in book 1 – Shattered – and it was everything I wanted from the continuation of Jenny and Brian’s story and so much more! Again I was completely captivated from beginning to end – there were some great twists and turns and lots of edge of my seat moments. I really liked how Jenny and Brian’s relationship was put to the test with everything that happens in this story and I have to say the author did an amazing job with Jenny’s story in particular – I could really feel the inner turmoil that she felt even though from the outside she exuded confidence and strength. This was definitely helped by the author writing the book from dual points of view.
I absolutely adore this couple! I love reading about them and I am so glad that there is another book after this one – I cannot wait to read it!
Bound is a fantastic 5 star read, it is extremely well written and has amazing characters! I highly recommend this book and this series!

Beau & Bett by Kathryn Berla

5-Stars

Beau & Bett by Kathryn Berla was an excellent family oriented and fun romance. It was a beautiful modern day beauty and the beast type story. I loved the main character Beau as he works to pay for his mothers accident at the Diaz Ranch. I also loved how Bett aka Bettina ‘s character developed and blossomed as the story was told. She was a beautiful soul and I felt that it was easy to relate to her character.

I could not put this book down and loved how easily the story seemed to flow from one page to the other. I also felt like I learned more about various berries with this book as well. It would definitely be fitting for younger readers and does not have any explicit content. This was the first book I have read from this author and I look forward to more from her in the future.

This was a fun read in order to catch up with Fitz and Bella from The Only One also by Necie Navone. It was also a good reminder about some of the other brothers.

The title certainly fits as this story is all about the happily ever after. There is no drama other than mom-zilla before the wedding and a couple of wedding twists. We also learn who “Peanut” really is. Really this story is sweet, sexy and so cute.

TWO HEARTS UNDER FIRE (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 8)TWO HEARTS UNDER FIRE by Tamara Ferguson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This starts with action and just keeps going. I love that because it keeps me focused on the budding romance as well as worrying about the safety of our main characters. Russ is in a difficult position. But he doesn’t let that deter him from doing what he thinks is right. He has had a difficult life but has overcome so much. Claire we learn about bit by bit as the story moves forward. She is running and hiding but once her life collides with Russ’ she seems to finally feel safe.

This isn’t my first story by this author. It is one of my favorites. The wonder the characters portray over different situations was lovely. She seems to write real feelings I to her character. I enjoyed all the characters even Rusty. As Stated above the story moves along as a good clip. It’s full of action and suspense.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

TWO HEARTS UNDER FIRE (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 8) by Tamara Ferguson is another wonderful military romance, in this addicting series. Anything regarding Crystal Rock from Tamara is a must and is fraught with danger and mystery, action and suspense, drama and lots of emotions. Tamara’s stories have me addicted and I can never just put them down, I always have to read them in one sitting. There are so many connecting characters that are shared throughout the books and it is always good to catch up on old and new friends. With that in mind there is more than a connection to the characters it is also the history behind the scenes that is woven together that make it all that much more intriguing and enthralling and very well written.

Claire is hiding from an abusive ex husband that just won’t leave her alone. When she comes face to face with a man who saves her, her world is spun upside down but she is enjoying the adventure.

Russ is being framed but it goes all the way to the top. When he decides to seek help he encounters a woman where they are both in danger. Just who is the enemy and who is the targets?

This is actually one of my favourites in this series and I couldn’t have asked for a better story and characters and the plot was spot on. Even with everything going on the relationship between the two MC’s was fun and exciting. As usual I am looking forward to seeing what she has in store for us next.

Blackbird’s Deliverance had me roped in from the very first page, there was no “getting used” to the writing, it was an instant hit for me.
While the book was fantastic to me because it was fast paced and action packed, I most liked the female lead. I am a sucker for a book that centers around strong, intelligent women and this author can really build great characters.
As always, I’m looking forward to what else this author has in store me.
