My Rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ice Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria 1) by Kay L. Moody was a unique read that hooked me from start to finish.

Oh wow, this book was something else I tell you. It was pulling, detailed and gripping. I got sucked in right away and before I knew it, this little wonder was over. I like it when these short reads capture you like that. No detail was spared, the pacing was great, and the characters were both well developed and compelling. This book packs a wallop, and I can’t wait to dive further into this new world. As this wasn’t my first read by this author, I knew that it was going to be something, not only different, but specially unique. The author has taken a matter I very much like, and has created something fresh, heart pounding and just worth your while to read.

This book has so much, it’s perfect for almost anyone, and I’m giving this book my super high recommendation and my golden stamp of approval. Take a chance on this book, you will no regret it.

Happy Reading

The Arrangement Duet Box SetThe Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This duet is made up of two very good installments which I was hooked on from the very beginning. The main characters are from two different worlds. They couldn’t be more different if the author tried. Kenzie Rose and Nicholas Parker met one night while Kenzie is on a break going to get a coffee. She works 2 jobs and has little to no time to sleep. She has a studio apartment in a really bad area and takes the subway wherever she goes. When a friend / client named Bridget she is a personal shopper for offers her a chance to make more money, while being safe and not doing anything illegal she gives it a shot.
Nicholas Parker is a billionaire playboy who is with a different woman at every social event he goes to. The same woman is never spotted on his arm twice. When his business is in jeopardy because of his personal life, he must do something to rectify it. That is when he decides to give it a shot with Bridget. The last person he expects to be his escort is none other then the woman he can’t get out of his head…the woman who him and Carter soaked that night all those mo the ago.

In the second installment things go a littler further between Kenzie and Nicholas. Both of them have a past they isn’t picture perfect but they must move on. Will they be able to move on together? Will they be able to save PFS? This duet will have you hooked from the very beginning. Kenzie is such a strong character. Nicholas couldn’t have found anyone better to help with his image

By: Ashley Chappell
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

OF WAR AND TATERS by Ashley Chappell was a fun read that had a little bit of everything, that kept me both entertained and engaged.

Not my first read by this author, so I knew going in that I was in for a well written witty read, with intertwining elements. I was not led astray, and this book brought what it stated. Now I will say that I did find the pacing a little slow at times, especially with all the different POV’s. But overall, it wasn’t that much of a bad thing. I did love how every different element was connected somehow, and the dog, Mr. Cuddle Face, it was like this little innocent voice that popped in; made me smile, and just had me wanting to steel him away.

Overall this book is a fun quick read that will have you second guessing, scratching your head and laughing. It was the perfect little mix of fun, drama, spoof, dark humour, mystery and entertainment. This book will keep you reading, and it will have you wondering why there isn’t more like it. I do hope there is more to come from this wonderful little world that the author has created.

To end this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading.

The Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn was easily one of my favorite books this year. I couldn’t put it down. I literally lost sleep over this book willing my eyes to stay open so I could finish. Not only did I love the characters but the writing was so good. I loved the whole arrangement. I loved Nicholas’ protectiveness of Kenzie. And I loved the fact that Kenzie was a strong woman who could leave a terrible situation. I literally don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil anything. But I was really happy with the ending. I kind of hope there will be another one. Just because I’m like that. 5 stars!!!

What can I tell you about this duet that won’t spoil how these two books will take you on a ride and leave you wanting more from this world? Madison Quinn has written a duet that gives you every feel that you love about a fake relationship/business arrangement with a twist of suspense. There was so much amazing chemistry between Nicholas and Kenzie that you get so invested into their story, the next thing you know its 2 am and you just want one more chapter. Even the secondary characters are so well written that you want to know more about them and what’s going on in their lives besides Nicholas and Kenzie.

If you are looking for your next book that has you curling up on the couch and losing yourself into a great love story, then I highly recommended you read this duet.

This is my second book by these two amazing authors and it was awesome checking back in on a couple of the characters from the first book as well as meeting some new characters in this one.

This was a fast moving story and I finished pretty quick since I could not put it down once I started. It was full of emotion and I have to say I laughed out loud more than once with the interaction that went on in this group. There is no way I won’t read the third book because there is so much going on and I have to know how these authors plan to end this series.

This is definitely not a chosen genre of mine but these authors have made me fall in love with this story.

Awesome!

The story Trouble In Mind (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2) by Donna S. Frelick is a science fiction romance book. It is a story that has action, danger, and mystery. It is a book that hooked me in from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Alana Matheson and Gabriel Cruz. Alana works for the FBI. She loves her job. She is strong, independent, and stubborn. She meets Gabriel when working on a kidnapping case. Gabriel has skills. He is a private investigator and uses his skills to help find those who are lost or taken. He meets Alana when he is asked to find an unusual little boy and his mother. Will Gabriel and Alana get the kidnapped boy and his mother back safely? What will happen when Alana and Gabriel both feel an attraction that only gets deeper? Read this book to find out. This story had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. The book does include romance that is sure to make the temperature in the room rise. I enjoyed reading about many of the additional characters that are introduced. Some interact with Alana and Gabriel and assist them while others have their own plans and agenda that they will do anything to make happen. It is a fast-paced tale that I found to be very entertaining to read. I highly recommend reading it.

The story Shattered (Shattered Hearts Series Book 1) by Nicole Banks is a contemporary romance book. It is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time. The book pulled me in from the beginning and I found myself lost in both the story and characters. I enjoyed reading about Jasmine and Angel. They were childhood friends. They find their way back to each other. Their lives have been filled with guilt and pain. They feel broken. They also feel a strong attraction to each other. Will they allow the pain of the past to make themselves push each other away or will they take a chance with one another? Read this book to find out. The story at times had me with tears in my eyes. I also enjoyed the bantering that goes back and forth between Angel and Jasmine. They both are characters that you can’t help but care about. There are other characters that are introduced, and I enjoyed reading about how many of them interacted with Jasmine and Angel. Don’t miss out on a book that you won’t want to put down until the last page. I highly recommend reading it.

This story is amazing. It has different elements from romance, to mystery and murder and shows how adult attitudes can affect children’s behaviour towards each other.

The town of Merit is a quiet peaceful place where children are children and no real crime ever happens.

Until one day that all changes and Sheriff Stanley finds himself with a town suffering from a mad circus, a war about racisim between the children and a murderer on the loose.

I really enjoyed this book once i got into it. At first there was to many characters introduced at once but i kept reading and really enjoyed it

This book hosts a ton of brilliant and strong characters, each with their own stories that only add to the overall storyline. It is funny right from the word go. There were quite a few times that this book had me laughing out loud.
There was a lot going on with the story but the author did a great job at tying all the threads together and keeping the story moving along nicely. As the first book I have read by this author I felt it was a great showcase as to what she is like. I am looking forward to exploring more of her work in the future.

This is a thoroughly engaging story. Each character has their own Individual story going on with their larger than life personalities but it’s how they all come together that makes this so good. It’s full of humor, wit and don’t forget sarcasm. This takes place in basically ANY town USA. Except there is murder, mystery, mayhem and….the circus. These characters and situations are something that happen could happen to anyone and that makes them easy to identify with as well as chuckle at. I personally loved listening to the fourth grader gangs divide the town with their “map”. The names of the places reminded me of my youth. Ah…looking through a child’s eyes.
This is my first time reading this author. I find her story tricky but smooth. Easy to follow and the characters…colorful.

The story Of War and Taters by Ashley Chappell is an entertaining and intriguing book. It hooked me in from the very beginning and once I started, I found that I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the last page. It has some mystery and suspense as well as a good portion of humorous moments as well. Welcome to Merit. Here Sheriff Stanley Grace has found himself pulled into several situations going on at once and has Stanley trying to stay one step ahead. The book has a good pace to it and there are times when I wished I could read faster as I just had to know how it ends. What does the future hold for Sheriff Stanley Grace and the town of Merit? Read this book to find out. Besides Stanley, there are many other characters that are introduced, and I enjoyed the interactions they have with each other and the sheriff. One of the characters that stands out is the ghost of a recently murdered actor who is trying to stage a comeback. It is a story that I found myself staying awake into the night to find out the ending. I highly recommend reading it.

I was pulled in right from the first page and read it in one sitting. This is a well written story that had me laughing for most of the story. The characters are strong and made the story come alive. First you have fourth graders in gangs, than you have the circus come to town, plus a dead actor comes back as a ghost and on top of all that Sheriff Stanley has his own issues going on. Their story will keep you reading just waiting to see what will happen next. I highly recommend this book.

I loved this story! It had me riveted from the beginning! I didn’t even realize that I was at the end of the book until…it happened! This is a short story but man it packs a punch! I loved the idea of shaping the elements. Very cool!
This is told from Talise’s POV. So we get to see her thoughts and designs when she enters this new city. She is from the lowest of the low cities and if she can become a Master Shaper she can finally leave her poverty ridden home.

This is not my first book by this author. Although I like this one the best so far! This story drew me and and before i knew it I couldn’t believe I was at the end of the book. I want more!
My only sadness is that it didn’t end with the competition. That would be a good break then the next story could have moved on from there. I feel kind of incomplete with the ending. Wind Crown….hurry up and get here.

P.S. Beautiful Cover!

This is a wonderful story. It drew me in at the beginning and didn’t let go! I think I read it in a couple days. I wanted to know what was going to happen next. Then I started the second book and WOW things went a bit crazy for a while. Even though Nichols lives in a different world I am shocked at what they can do when money is no object. Luckily Kenzie is down to earth and remains that way. I loved all the sweet gestures he does for her and how she staunchly tries to refuse gifts from him.

While I love the slowness and tension building in they story it is a bit too long. Listening to the characters berate themselves over and over for certain situations is getting old. I understand they both had traumatic lives and learning to trust is difficult. But once that path is started rehashing for each new circumstance that comes up….I hate to say it but I start to lose Interest.

That being said I actually loved it when the action finally picked up in Book 2 and the story moved to the conclusion. So many questions were answered.

This is a good story despite it being overly long. I enjoyed all the characters and it was easy to connect with and care about them. I do want to mention that the prologue in Book 1 just about killed me. Great start!

Of War and Taters by Ashley Chappell is a delightfully fun read, full of hilarious tongue-in-cheek moments which took the story from just a clever book, to a whole new level of enjoyment. I have read a couple of Ms. Chappell’s books previously and have really enjoyed them, but this book has just become my firm favourite read of hers!
There is so much to like about this small-town Southern Satire, from the clever storyline, to the witty dialogue, the colourful & quirky characters, paranormal elements, mystery, danger, creepy/spooky details, clever touches, and even a little bit of mayhem.
I thought the characters were ALL so superbly developed- with their own individual personalities, quirks, and flaws. They were entirely interesting and likeable. I thought it was quite clever of Ms. Chappell to follow several characters, and have several threads unravelling through the story. There was quite a lot going on, but she choreographed it all wonderfully well. And for such a zany story, it also had a touching and heart-warming quality as well.
If you’re looking for a hilarious and incredibly entertaining story, with a clever and intriguing plot, and fantastic characters to entice you into the story- then this is definitely the book for you!

Thank you, Ms. Chappell!

The story Ice Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria Book 1) by Kay L. Moody is a YA/fantasy book. It is a story that hooks you in from the beginning and that I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished. I loved reading about the character of Talise. She is truly a gifted and talented girl. She can manipulate the elements. She has a chance at a better life as a Master Shaper, rather than one where death is a constant in the Storm. She finds herself in competition with another student, Aaden. What will happen when a loved one causes Talise to have to choose between her past and her future? I loved reading about how both Aaden and Talise use their talents. The story is detailed, and I found myself feeling like I was right there with the characters. There are a few other characters that are introduced and enjoyed reading about. There are times when the book is suspenseful. It is a story I would recommend reading.

The Arrangement Duet Box SetThe Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn contains the 2 full novels ‘On His Terms’ and ‘On Her Terms’. I was already a fan of Madison Quinn having read, and loved, her 2 Dark Water Security books: Luke and Garrett. I had high hopes before reading this duet and I was not disappointed in the slightest. I absolutely loved this duet.
Billionaire Nicholas Parker has been burned by a previous girlfriend and does not want to get into another relationship. When his business becomes under threat due to his lack of a steady relationship he enters into an agreement with Kenzie Rose for her to play the part of his loving girlfriend. Kenzie’s previous relationship ended badly as her fiancé regularly abused her, on occasion leaving her close to death. The arrangement with Nicholas would be perfect for her as it would allow her to finish her degree and move out of the hell hole apartment she was staying in.
I adored both Kenzie and Nicholas. Both of them are so broken in different ways. The slow burning, simmering attraction between the 2 of them is so angst filled. You just can’t help rooting for this couple to give into the growing feelings they have for each other and have a HEA. Madison Quinn has a knack for writing amazing characters that you can relate to. Not just the main characters but also the secondary characters play a valuable role in adding to the great storyline.
If I could give this Duet more than 5 stars then I would do so. Amazing!!

This story had me laughing so hard that my dog even looked at me like I was crazy. When you take a small town that have a variety of characters and what do you get? OF WAR AND TATERS is the answer. Ashley Chappell has created a great small town atmosphere. There is chaos a foot. The town of Merit really does not know what will be happening next. There is media coming into the town, a circus, and no one is getting along. If that was not bad enough there is a ghost bringing even more trouble in the town. Sheriff Stanley is on the case and he is trying to keep everyone safe. Will the chaos ever settle down? Will Sheriff Stanley figure out what is going on? Just take some time and read the fun story OF WAR AND TATERS.

A great read about the sea. Nerissa is a fisherman’s daughter living in ancient Greece. One day, her father returns home with no fish, sparking rumors of a legend and bad omens across the village. While he is gone, Nerissa faces the prospect of finding someone to marry before she is forced into a marriage with an abusive man named Cete. Can she find a solution to her problems?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Nerissa standing up for herself but anxious underneath or Zeer mysterious but caring underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the fun friend Eirene or the cruel Cete.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the storm and its rain and wind for a sense of danger and foreboding events and also a sense of beauty to it aswell. Or the sense of the grecian town with its cobbled streets and colourful markets full of sounds and smells and wares. Or Poseidons kingdom later on with its hidden world full of magic and wonder with colourful jewels and marvellous palaces wonderfully written.
The switch of perspectives was done well to display both sides of the story and was easy to follow with names in the chapters. Also loved how it brought the reader straight into the action with the storm in the prologue I .
grabbing the readers attention from the start. I also liked the sense of mystery with the legend, giving it a magical sense and making you wnat to read on to find out what happens. A wonderful example of world building with fantatsical beings and gods living alongside humanity with their own rules and laws and societies. I loved the use of mythology with Poseidon and mermaids and sirens given the respect they deserve and true to their origins. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars

Creatively living through music, writing and yoga.

I love the arts and how they move you and make you feel.

Reading has always been a great love of mine right after my love of music. Each song written is a story waiting to be told. Which, along with my over active imagination fueled my desire to write about the chaos that goes on in my head.

I love stringing words together. I love making people get lost in a story and connecting with fictional characters that remind them of someone they know.

I published my first book Shattered in 2013. It’s the first installment in the Shattered Hearts Series.

Shattered started out as an assignment for a college course I took at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. After I graduated college I went through my old papers and reconnected with the story morphing into so much more then what I wrote in my college course.

Now you can find me doing yoga, listening to music and working on getting out all the stories in my head, including dabbling in poetry. (Which I’ve always had a secret love affair with).
