My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story follows a fishermans daughter called Nerissa who grew up with her father after her mother vanished.
In her village every year they sacrifice 1 virgin maiden to the god Poseidon to get his favour in terms of wealth and food from the ocean.

A chance encounter with a handsome man called Zeer leaves Nerissa hopeful that she will be married until Zeer disappears.

Nerissa remains unmarried after her two suitors passed at sea and Zeer has vanished and as the time of the sacrifice draws near her fears are realised when she becomes the virgin maiden they chose.

What unravels is an adventure about revenge, lies and finding out who you really are. Both Nerissa and Zeer are holding secrets but is their love able to overcome them.

Its an amazing story full of ups and downs, lies and truths, and finding out things aren’t always as they seem.
