Dr. Caroline “Carly” Mazyck does not want to go back to the past.

And why should she?

She’s gone through a grueling, yearlong divorce, and won an equally draining sexual harassment lawsuit. So, what else is troubling her?

For one, Carly’s aunt calls on her at the last minute to speak at a historical function in her hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. That event is being sponsored by Mason “Mace” Moore, heir to his family’s investment property company. There is bad blood, plenty of history and some unresolved feelings between the two of them. Once Carly, and soon Mace, return to her old homestead, the past-and the pain-comes back to haunt them both once again.

Which will heal all the old wounds: time itself, or the return of certain feelings for one another?
