My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I haven’t read a young teen fantasy novels in a long time. So I was a little nervous if I was going to stay interested in reading this book and not feel like the characters in the book were too young for me to connect with. Well to my surprise I was very entertained. It’s great coming of age story with a lot of action. I love watching apocalyptic movies or tv series. I find myself rooting for Alice to make the right choices when her back was against the wall being so young learning how to use her powers and so much weighing her shoulders. This book had me entrained and on the edge of my seat, just as if I was watching it on a tv series. The way the characters were Introduced and how vivid the story line was you didn’t even need your imagination to be immersed into the book as if you were a character. I was ready to read book number 2. In conclusion, this book is a great read and I recommend this book to my 14 yr old son and to anyone who’s reading this review you won’t be disappointed.
