I read Ms. Pulkinen’s Crescent City Wolf Pack series and loved it. When I saw this book, I quickly picked it up to read knowing what a great author she is. This book is completely different. It is fun, light hearted and will keep you laughing. It was nice to see a different side of the author.
Ethan has been a vampire for twenty five years and is broody and miserable. He meets Jane and believes that she’s his ex fiancée reincarnated. When he sees his chance to turn her, he takes it. He can finally be with Vanessa again. When Jane awakens, he realizes she is definitely not his ex. Jane is feisty, spoiled and obnoxious. What has he gotten himself into?
Jane is a blogger. Her and her friend Sarah decide to visit New Orleans and write about the sights. Jane meets the handsome Ethan while drunk and doesn’t really mind waking up with him. Realizing she’s a vampire, she takes it in stride. She now has super human strength, will stay young forever and has skin to die for. Now if she can just stop fainting at the sight of blood, everything will be okay.
The story is cute and funny. Who would have thought a vampire would have an aversion to blood? Although Jane’s yattering made me dizzy, this was a fun book to read. Looking forward to seeing what happens with Sarah.

5 Star The Scene (Dylan Hart series Book 1) by R.M. Gilmore
First off let me just say this was was different than I expected it to be. But once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next .There’s vampires, danger and suspense along with the twists and turns and you got yourself a wild journey . I absolutely loved the character Dylan she’s sassy and has just the right amount of attitude. I found myself laughing in some parts. Find out what happens next in this must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

I really enjoyed reading this story. It is a light, fun and flirty paranormal read. The story was different from other vampire stories I have read. The characters ranged from snarky to broody. Jane was tough to take at first. But then she starts coming up with all of these Edward Cullen movie references. That stuff is golden! She became more palatable after she calmed a bit and realized what a vampire life could do for her. Ethan is the broody one. He likes quiet and order. Jane is like a tsunami coming into his life. His biggest problem….she never stops talking. That give us some good times.
This is thoroughly enjoyable. I read it fairly quickly because it’s good and I love me some Vamp stories. I can’t wait to see what happens to Sophie in the next one!

I was so excited to see another book in this series – after all I loved the first 3 and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! It was as I expected another amazing read and well worthy of 5 stars! This is the fourth book in this series and I feel they should be read in order to fully understand the dynamics of the characters. Through everything in this series the one thing that has always come through is the importance of family. I love Bella and Miles and their wedding day is finally upon them. They do genuinely love each other but their new life together certainly seems to be throwing some obstacles in their way. Again the authors writing had my attention from the beginning, I easily read the story in one sitting I just couldn’t put it down. Another wonderful read from Ms Sims! As always I look forward to reading more from her again in the future!

The Scene is a book I probably wouldn’t normally read but I was looking for something a little different and I have read something by this author previously so I thought I would give it a go and overall I really enjoyed it. The writing was really good, the author drew me in but I will admit it did take a couple of chapters to fully get into but once I did I was fully absorbed in what I was reading. I actually wasn’t sure I would relate to the main character but I did really like her, she had this real feel about her, confident and sassy yet unsure of herself. She was really funny and made me laugh on more than one occasion. The storyline was really good and had a great pace to it; I actually read it really quickly! I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series!

After really enjoying book 1 in this new series I was looking forward to starting the second book ‘Endless Night’ and I absolutely loved it! I feel like the author really took this book to another level, I found myself turning the pages faster and faster just so I could see what was going to happen. I loved Dylan but in this book I found I loved her even more, she is such a fantastic character to read about. She is so relatable and down to earth, she has insecurities that many of us have – I just adore her! I love Malcolm and Cyrus so much – it was great to see their characters develop over the story! I cannot believe I have to wait for book 3! The author left us on a cliff-hanger and I shall definitely be looking forward to reading the next book in the series! I 100% recommend this book – it’s a fantastic read!

I love losing myself in the world of historical romance – it is my ultimate favourite genre to read and I particularly love it when an author knows how to write this genre well and Jean Wilde absolutely did that! I was completely swept up in this story form beginning to end – from the characters to the setting to the scenery it was a wonderful read. The authors’ writing was beautifully detailed – I could imagine exactly what I was reading at times. One of the things I loved was Lady Victoria and Blake’s relationship; they definitely loved to hate each other! They were great characters that I connected with quickly. This is the fourth book in The Scarlet Salon series but can be read as a standalone which is how I read it. This is also the first book that I have read by this author and I will definitely be reading the other books in the series now!

Endless Night is the second exciting instalment in the Dylan Hart Series by R.M. Gilmore. I was hooked on the series right from the beginning of book one, so I had high hopes for the rest of instalments. So, I am happy to say that this book surpassed all my expectations and is even better than the first. It is a fast-paced and thrilling read- with vampires, danger, mystery, drama, suspense, twists & turns, voodoo, curses, and lots of gripping developments- all set against the paranormal haven that is New Orleans. Another vivid, rich, dynamic, detailed and descriptive story- with all the excitement you could wish for, which made it impossible to put down until I’d read every word. After the way this story ended, I really can’t wait to dive into book #3!

Read Between the Linesis the first book in the Freshwater series by Belinda Williams. It is a great contemporary romance, with endearing, relatable, and interesting characters. The story is well written, with more to offer than just romance, as the author opens the window on some sensitive subjects which she uses in a very considerate, yet honest way. I have read a couple of Ms. Williams other books and really liked them- so I knew I wanted to see what this new series would offer. I am happy to report that this kept me entertained right from the beginning- mixing humour, emotion, and drama into quite a fun read. Kate Chalmers has made quite a life for herself. She’s the popular is the co-host of one of the hottest current affairs shows on television. She is well liked, beautiful, savvy, and smart. Kate really loves what she does but strives to keep her private life out of the public eye. Her career and the life she has may seem enviable- but she’s been unlucky in love and yearns to meet someone who she could share her life with. But, with so much to occupy her time, finding love has been put on the back-burner. Then her new neighbour sparks her interest, as there’s something quite mysterious about him, and so she’s determined to uncover everything she can about him. Matt Goodridge is a doctor who has his own obstetrics practice. He doesn’t like talking about his past, or the traumatic event that led him on this career path. After moving into the same building as Kate and meeting his ‘famous’ neighbour, the chemistry between them ignites into more. But what happens when secrets are revealed? You really should read all the intriguing developments for yourself- you are bound to enjoy it just as much as I have! This is a great start to the new series, and I can’t wait to see where we go from here.

Midnight in the House of Lang by Bree M. Lewandowski is an amazing dystopian novel which will make you feel like you are right there. This book is utterly fantastic. I knew I would like it from the second I read the description but I am blown away by how amazing this book was. It was so well written that it clearly has the distinctive markings of a dystopian novel and yet felt as if it were reality. It honestly felt like I could have stepped out my front door any second and been in this world. And I loved that about it, it made it all feel so much more real. I loved Thea, she is such a strong character. I got a real sense of fight about her. She made me want to read more about her character. This is strong and exciting book and one that I would highly recommend.

Holding Out For Youby Anna Paige is a superb Brother’s Best friend/Enemies to Lovers story. Anna Paige has delivered a captivating story, as this book was so much fun to read. As with the other books of Ms. Paige’s that I have read, I really couldn’t have loved the characters, storyline and details any more than I did. Their personalities, quirks, and salty banter really gave this story an extra element of interest, and entertainment. Blair and Ash have butted heads, poked, and prodded each other at every given opportunity. But is their verbal jousting and barbs just a cover for their real feelings? You really should read the story and discover all the sexy, fun, and entertaining details for yourself- you are sure to love it as much as I did! I can’t wait for my next “fix” from Ms. Paige.

Cade is the third book in the fantastic Default Distraction seriesby the incredibly talented A.S. Roberts. As with the other two books, this superb Rockstar romance had me completely engrossed right from the get-go. With plenty of emotion, drama, chemistry, passion, romance, intensity, tension, and some suspense- I found it just to riveting to put down. It could be read as a standalone, but I really recommend reading the other two books first, as they introduce the characters and provide other background information that will really enhance your reading experience of this book- not to mention that they are an incredibly good read, too. The three books also play out, mostly, along the same timeline- so if you have read the other books, you are really getting a ‘fuller’ reading experience. Cade is the drummer with popular rock band “Default Distraction”. They are riding the charts, and enjoying the life that stardom has afforded them. Cade’s life, especially his past, is quite complicated- and that comes into play through the story. Winter is Rafferty’s sister (Book #2), whom we met at the beginning of the series. She and Cade have a past, which is exactly where she wants to keep things. She isn’t the same young girl she was then. She is in charge, in control, and used to calling the shots. She’s responsible for DD’s new hotel venture’s grand opening and it is her primary focus. Until Cade shows up. What happens here makes for a riveting read! I fell in love with Ms. Roberts’ writing, and characters back in book one(Brody) and thought she would be hard pressed to top that book. Then book two released (Rafferty), and I thought the same thing. Lightening can’t strike three times in one place! Can it? Well, if you are A.S. Roberts, it can, and does!!! I was definitely looking forward to Cade’s story since meeting him back in book #1 but wasn’t too sure it would live up to the other two books- I had my hope’s, but a few reservations too. But, I really should have never doubted Ms. Roberts, as this book was EVERYTHING I could have imagined, and more- and EVERYTHING you could ever want from a Rockstar romance. The story really blew me away! It was quite raw in places, and incredibly emotive! I smiled, laughed, teared up, and felt every single word! I wasn’t just reading the words, I was IN the story, living every moment alongside these incredible characters. As I have said before, Ms. Roberts has a real talent for getting her story and characters to really connect with the reader, pulling them in and captivating them with her words. The energy and tension she’s able to create in her stories, and between the characters, is truly masterful. I can’t imagine anyone reading her stories and not enjoying every word. Again, the characters are really well written, full developed and so wonderfully endearing. I loved everything about them. I also felt for them as everything unfolds. I was completely invested in them and the outcome of their story. A word of warning though- be prepared for a bit of a book binge, as you won’t want to put “Cade” down! Can’t wait to see what Ms. Robert’s has in store for us next!

Love Is What You Bake Of It is the first book in a wonderful new series, “Meraki”, by Effie Kammenou. I really loved Ms. Kammenou’s “Gift Saga”, so it was no question that I was going to read this book. I happily one-clicked a copy for myself and jumped right in. It is different from the Gift Saga stories- in a great way- still the same well written and polished product, and with Greek characters that just jumped off the pages- but with a more light-hearted, humorous and fun story. This story has a lot going on in it, but doesn’t feel ‘heavy’ or overly complicated. It is primarily, a contemporary romance- with interesting and entertaining family dynamics, some suspense, love, humour, hope, mystery, secrets, and of course- baking. Kally has been burned by love in the past, which has tainted her view on love and relationships. She has poured all her time, energy, and passion into pursuing her dreams- focusing on her café perfecting her baking. She’s built a great life for herself and she is happy with where she is in life. Then Max walks into her life, bringing complications she will need to address. Will she let down her barriers and take a chance on love again? Or will her tainted view on love, and the revelation of secrets keep her from opening her heart? I really enjoyed this story. It had a bit of a “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” feel to the story- which I loved, but with its own unique identity. I loved the wonderfully quirky characters who really made this story come to life. There is no question, I will definitely be following the rest of the series! A fun read!

A Moore Affair is the fourth Book in the Moore Family Saga by Michele Sims. I really recommend reading the previous three books before starting on this one to help you fully appreciate the characters and understand what’s going on in this story. Miles and Bella are getting married. Even though they love each other, is she really prepared for what’s to come? With secrets and obstacles to overcome, their story is worth reading to discover if their love and relationship will survive it all. Well written and enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing what comes next.

High Fae Academy: Year One: Fae Paranormal Romance is the first book in the High Fae Academy series by Kaylin Peyerk. This is my first read by Ms. Peyerk, so I really didn’t know what to expect from her writing. But I really love a great fantasy story- and I’m not one to pass up a paranormal romance. So, I grabbed a copy and took the plunge. This isn’t my first paranormal, reverse harem college romance- so I was looking forward to seeing what Ms. Peyerk could do with the subject-matter. This turned out to be a sweet, interesting, and intriguing story- although somewhat predictable- I still enjoyed the story. There were a few minor issues for me- I would have liked more on the character/s backstory(ies) and character information as this would have allowed me to connect with the character/s more quickly and easily. But perhaps we will get more backstory and character information in future instalments- I will have to wait and see. There were also times the story felt a little rushed, especially at the beginning while the groundwork was being laid out. But it did settle down part way through and I was able to enjoy the story more. Then there were storyline issues- such as the emphasis that was placed on the fact that Tiana was staunchly against the academy and all it ‘stood’ for- but kind of just ‘accepted’ being there without the ‘fight’ I would have expected knowing she felt so strongly about the Academy. I thought her transition went a little ‘too easily’. But that’s just my opinion- others may not feel that way about it. The thing that really drew me to the story was the whole prophecy aspect of the story, and the promise of a great ‘adventure’. I am holding out my full opinion on this until I have read further instalments- and get more of a feel of where the story is headed. After the ending of this book, I am intrigued to start the next book and find out what happens.

Music Man is the first book in the ‘Romance in Rehoboth series by K.L Montgomery. It is a really fun and very enjoyable romantic comedy. Romance in Rehoboth is a series of standalone stories where each book centres on its own particular character/couple. The stories differ in their storyline, feel, and tone- but they all are set against the backdrop of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. I have read all the books in the series so far, and highly recommend them as they are wonderful stories and well worth the read! We meet Jack and Claire and follow along as their story unfolds. Jack dreamed of making it big in the music industry. But things didn’t go quite according to plan and he ended up teaching music instead. Then he meets Claire, who arrives for lessons. There is an attraction and instant connection between them that draws them together. Things are going really well. But when Claire encourages Jack to enter a contest, things take a different turn as Jack gets another chance to follow his dreams. What will the future hold for these two? Will their love survive? As I have said many times before, I think Ms. Montgomery is a gifted storyteller, easily pulling her readers into her story and keeping us connected and hooked from beginning to end. I love how her story depicts characters that are realistic, believable and completely relatable. As with all her other books, this is really well written, entirely captivating, and was a really fun read. I can’t wait to see what she does next!

Serenade by T.K Lawyer is a great paranormal romance. I love everything paranormal, with witches and shifters right there at the top. So, when this book popped up on my recommended book feed, I knew I had to read it. It is a little different from other paranormal/shifter stories that I have read- and has its own unique identity. It was intriguing and entertaining- and I enjoyed the story. Kingsley is a wolf shifter, who had given up hope of ever finding his fated mate- until he meets Eva. Everything about her calls to him- he is drawn to her like a magnet. Eva is a powerful witch, who has trust issues and a fear of losing control of her powers. She doesn’t date, but can’t help but notice the connection she has to Kingsley. Too bad she can’t trust men. Or can she? Will this Arctic Wolf and the alluring Witch find love, or do they discover that wolves and witches definitely don’t mix? You really should read the story and discover the answer for yourself. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more from T.K Lawyer in the future.

Why is the highly anticipated second book in the Stalker Series by Megan Mitcham. After reading the first riveting book, “Who”, and loving it so much- I really had very high expectations for this story. I wondered if Ms. Mitcham would be able to even match, let alone surpass, the sheer brilliance of book one. But, I really shouldn’t have doubted her though, because this book is every bit as good as the first- and I am having trouble picking my favourite out of the two. It’s so intense, compelling, and clever. Colour me hooked on this series now, it’s that addictive! I will be expectantly waiting for the rest of the series to release- ready to pounce as soon as they do! The book/s could be read as standalones, but as each book focuses on an individual from a great group of very close friends, I really recommend reading book one before starting on this one. As I said earlier, book one is such a riveting psychological thriller, it’s a story that deserves reading in its own right- but it also introduces us to the recurring characters, and also knowing what happens in book one will only enhance your reading experience of this story. “Why” follows Genevieve Holst, who we met in book #1. She’s a formidable attorney, who has just successfully represented her boss, clearing him of murder charges, after he was accused of killing his wife and two young children. He’s not just her boss, but also a friend and mentor. She had to do what she could to help clear his name as there was no way he could be guilty of such a heinous crime. Right? But no sooner had the ink dried on his release papers, he began tweaking her suspicion. Did he actually kill his family? Did she help to free a killer? And this is where this wonderfully suspenseful story really takes flight… The story is a very steamy and suspenseful crime thriller that’s packed full of intrigue, dramatic developments, mystery, tension, danger, and plenty of action. As with the first book, the intensity, suspense and dramatic effects were so well developed, cleverly crafted, and entirely compelling. It was so engrossing and easy to lose myself in the story (in the best possible way) that I found myself devouring the pages, completely caught up in the exciting developments and trying to figure out what would happen next. It was so deftly woven- and is a true testament to Ms. Mitcham’s writing prowess. I am eagerly anticipating the next instalment- “How” (Book #3) – FBI Agent Libby Irish’s story.

Age of Secrets is the eighth book in the Druid’s Brooch Series by Christy Nicholas. It is a fantastic fantasy- with magic, adventure, paranormal elements, drama, action, romance, family, friendship, danger, battles, obstacles, and some mystery. I always love the attention to detail and vividly descriptive storytelling that Ms. Nicholas has proven to excel at- as it brings her stories to life and makes them very realistic, believable, and entirely captivating. I can always count on her to deliver a really well written tale. Each book in the series is fascinating in its own right, but then when you read a few, you begin to realise that each one contributes a fragment to a wonderful Tapestry. But, be prepared to have each book draw you in and get you invested in the story and characters, right from the beginning. Fingin hasn’t had things easy, and things get even more complicated when he is sent on a quest to find his grandmother. Along with his dog Bran, and Sean the donkey- they set off on an adventure which will test them in many ways. Things don’t go quite according to plan- and things are definitely not what they seem. If you love fantasy, lonely outcasts, magic, adventure, and wonderful animal friends- then you really shouldn’t miss this story! This adventure is a wonderful addition to the series.

The Explorer is the sixth book in the Mountains series by Phoebe Alexander. What a wonderful addition to the series this is. Even though it could be read as a standalone, I really recommend reading (at least) the first three books in the series before starting on this one as they are where we first meet our MC, as well as providing background information and other relevant details which enhance your appreciation of this book. Abigail Lynde (Abby) is Sarah’s daughter (from books #1 – #4) and we now get to follow her and find out so much more bout her. She is just starting out on her Freshman year in college- and has a great understanding of what she wants to do with her life- but is at a loss as to ‘who’ she really is. She feels she has to be so many ‘different’ people to everyone in her life- presenting a different version of herself to them all. It’s exhausting and makes everything so much more complicated. We follow her on her journey of self-discovery- as she finds her true ‘identity’ and through all the highs and lows that come with it, as she navigates through trying to balance it all along with college life. Fantastic!

P.A.W.S is the first book in the P.A.W.S Saga series by Debbie Manber Kupfer. It is a wonderful YA paranormal fantasy, with shapeshifters, werewolves, secrets, magic, adventure, danger, violence, drama, and a sprinkle of romance. This is a journey of self-discovery, finding where you belong, friendship, and more. This is my first read from Debbie Manber Kupfer- and I am happy I stumbled on this cute story. There was a lot to love about the book. It does have a bit of a Harry Potter-esque feel to the story, and like Harry our MC is a bit of a lonely misfit- until she finds where she ‘belongs’. Miri’s life turns upside down when her grandmother dies, and she is shipped off to boarding school. But little does she know that this will be the start of a great adventure. From being a bit of an outcast, Miri discovers the ‘family secret’ and begins her journey to her true self. But danger is stalking her with sinister intent. What happens from here, makes for a captivating read. Now- on to Book #2!

Black Blade by Alexander Charalambides is superb YA fantasy adventure with plenty of action, magic, and fun. This is a quest that will take the characters on an adventure they could never have imagined. With wizards, magic, Excalibur, and much so much more that made this a really great read. As the first book in the series, it was a great introduction to what looks set to be a really fun series. The story is told from several POV’s and is a fairly quick and easy read. I am interested to see what’s in store for us in the next book/s! Can’t wait.

Indebted to the Vampires is the first book in the House of Durand Series by Erin Bedford. It is a paranormal romance story- a reverse harem fantasy, with vampires, drama, danger, tension, angst, suspense, and interesting characters. This was my first read by Ms. Bedford, but she already had me at the mere mention of ‘vampires’. And even though Reverse Harem isn’t my go-to sub-genre, I was intrigued enough by the premise of the story to want to dive right in. The story was fun, if not just a little predictable and corny in places. But it definitely entertained me right from the beginning. The characters were all really well developed individuals, with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. They were an eclectic mix, but all added their own flavour to my reading experience. There were a few minor editing issues with the story – punctuation problems, and the use of wrong words etc- but these issues didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. (Kindle edition- verified purchase on Amazon Au) Piper Billings hasn’t had a very good run of late. She’s is in desperate need of a job, any job really. So, when the employment agency calls about a live-in cleaning position, Piper is in no position to refuse the offer. She arrives at the address, to find a sprawling mansion- and discovers that her new ‘bosses’ will be six mysterious, demanding, and quite ‘snooty’ brothers. Piper’s clumsy nature soon comes into play, when she accidentally smashes a priceless vase. So, with that, any thoughts she may have had about leaving are now out of the question, as she becomes indebted to her new employers. But things in the household are a little strange, her employers are entirely too mysterious and are definitely hiding something. Piper’s sassy and inquisitive nature is about to get her in trouble. What she discovers will turn her world upside down. But also places her in a bit of a sticky situation, because the House of Durand will go to extreme measures to protect their secret. Join Piper, along with the Durand brothers, Antoine, Marcus, Wynn, Drake, Allister, and Rayne- and discover what happens for yourself. I am invested in this story and the characters, so I will definitely be reading the rest of the series asap!

Marked For Death is the sixth exciting instalment in the Gray Ghosts series by Amy McKinley. Once again, Ms. McKinley has upped the ante with this story. The series continues to get better and better with each new release. This is everything I expected, and more- a wonderfully exciting romantic suspense, with special ops military action, violence, danger, drama, intrigue, emotion, twists, romance, mystery, and adventure. This book could be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the first five books so you have all the backstories for all the characters, background information, and other important details- as that will greatly enhance your reading experience here. Not to mention the other five books are really fantastic stories in their own rights! I always say, you really can’t go wrong with Ms. McKinley at the helm! There’s a very good reason why Keegan Hunt has avoided Venezuela for the past 15 years. But with a lot at stake, this latest mission sees him risking his cover by returning. The operation throws up unexpected complications, especially in the form of Kara Medina- with whom he has a bit of a complicated history. The mission goes awry and Kara might be the key to solving their problem. But at what cost? Another ‘edge of your seat’, engrossing and gripping read- with all the intensity, sparks, chemistry, tension, and dramatic developments I have come to expect from Ms. McKinley! Fantastic!

My Pretty is the first book in the Mischief Matchmakers series, and my first read by Madeline Fay. Wow! This is definitely not what I was expecting at all- in a fun way. This was so much more than I imagined- and I loved Madeline Fay’s original twist to the classic “Wizard of Oz”. Put aside everything you thought you knew about the ‘Wizard of Oz’- things are not what they seemed then. We get East’s perspective here, and she casts a whole new light on the story. The heroine we thought we knew from the original, may not be what we were told. And the ‘villain’ of old will be seen in a whole new light. This is a crazy, zany, hilarious, sexy, erotic, laugh-out-loud little gem that kept me entertained from beginning till end. Whilst a little corny in places, the superb character/s, and fantastic, fun, and hilarious story really won me over- it’s not one I will soon forget, that’s for sure. But be warned, this is an erotic retelling- a reverse harem story that takes us on an adults only romp through Oz. It was a great introduction to Madeline Fay’s work, and I will definitely be hunting down more of her work to explore in the very near future. Can’t wait to see what awaits us in Book #2!
Die For Me by Diane Hester is quite a well woven, multilayered psychological suspense. The gripping nature of the story kept me avidly reading well past my bedtime, as I really needed to know how everything would end. Out for a jog on a cold winter’s evening, Lauren could never have predicted the cost her short-cut would incur. Guilt drives her to try and make amends. But things soon take a strange and sinister turn. There is more going on than meets the eye- and the psychological creepiness of the story takes hold. This is my first read by Diane Hester, so I really wasn’t sure of what to expect from her story. But I do love a gripping story and because the blurb had me so intrigued I quickly pounced on a copy and started reading right away. Diane Hester has proved to be a clever storyteller, producing a well written, detailed and descriptive read. There are several threads to the story which gives her work an extra element of surprise. Things are not what they appear, and my mind was whirling with all the possible scenarios. I though the way everything came together was well thought out- and gave me a taste for Diane Hester’s stories, so I will definitely be going back to read the rest of her books now, too.

Denial is the first book in the Hero High series by Mina Chara. It is a Young Adult fantasy adventure story set in a ‘superhero’ high school. When 17 year old Friday develops ‘powers’ she is sent to Hero High, where her adventure begins, and things start to get interesting. Mina Chara is a new-to-me author whose book popped up on my recommended book feed- it piqued my interest, so I grabbed a copy to see what I would find. I am happy to say that I enjoyed the story and am looking forward to the rest of the series. If you love young adult reads with fantasy, adventure, and superheroes- then this is definitely the book for you.

‘Journeys Through TimeSpace’ is the second instalment in the ‘Journeys Through’ series by James Talisman. This is a sci-fi/fantasy adventure story which, like the first book, has quite a lot going on in it, as well as a lot of characters to keep track of. Again, the storyline is multi-layered and complex taking the reader on an action-packed adventure on a quest for treasure. It’s a thought provoking read- exploring ideas on consciousness, relativity, spirituality, time travel, the universe/multiverse, and more. I enjoyed the first book and so I was intrigued to read this second instalment to see where this journey would take us. As this is the second instalment in the series, and there are a lot of recurring characters, as well as an over-arching storyline, I really recommend reading book one before embarking on this journey. Having all the backstory, character introductions and other important information contained in the first book will greatly enhance your reading experience of this story. I am curious to see what Mr. Talisman has in store for us next.

Blood Rebellion (Supernatural Intelligence Agency Book #1) by Nadine Travers is an urban fantasy- a paranormal detective story with supernatural elements, action, adventure, drama, intrigue, mystery, and danger. It is fast paced short story, which makes for quick and easy reading. I was immediately intrigued by the title, cover, and blurb. The blurb held so much promise, and I really do love a great urban fantasy. But having said that, when I purchased my copy of this book, I hadn’t realised that I had already read it, last year, as part of the “Rogue Skies” Anthology. As I began reading, it felt so familiar, and as the story went on, I realised where I’d seen/read it before. I had enjoyed it the first time I read it as part of the anthology, and it still had the same appeal this time around. But reading it again now, as book one in the series, I would like to have had more character details, backstory(ies), story/series development, and depth- as a lot of the story, for me, seemed a bit rushed or a little cut short. I think the story would have benefited from being just a little longer with added details and development. It would have elevated it to a whole new level. Don’t get me wrong, the story is well written and intriguing, I just felt like I wanted to know more. I will be following the series to see what happens- but I do hope the next book/s have got more detail and development.
