The Saint of Liars (The Lucky Devil series Book 2) by Megan Mackie. I loved this book. I don’t usually read this genre but I read the 1st book and I loved it. The 2nd installment did not disappoint. Its the story of Rune who in the 1st book was left The Lucky Devil Bar by her aunt who had recently passed. She also found out she has “powers”. After her ex husband leaves her hanging for crimes he committed and steals the files that have all her magic in them she is determined to find him and make him pay. The only problem is Rune isn’t the only one looking for this file and the people that are also looking for it will do anything to get it! Rune’s new love interest Saint Benedict is going to try to help her by telling his boss. He promises to help Rune but he wants her help in finding her ex. Can Rune trust anyone? I did not want this book to end, it was a quick one sitting read yet had everything you need to feel fulfilled when it’s over. I really would have loved more but that’s just personal preference.
Seb and Zen were awesome, their back and forth was a lot of fun and the drama that came with everything was enough to make the feelings feel more real. I truly had no idea how it would all turn out till the very end and that in my opinion is what makes this an awesome read.
I enjoy this author’s writing style and will definitely read more in the future, I highly recommend picking this book up, it was awesome

It Comes From Within (House Valdis Book 2) by Naomi Valkyrie
I absolutely loved this book. I became completely invested when I read the first book and couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one. Xenobia feels overwhelmed and stressed. This book is filled with unexpected twists, danger, action, suspense, and so much more. As soon as I started reading I couldn’t put it down. I found myself on the edge of my seat at times. The author does an exceptional job and draws you into this complex storyline without confusing you. There are so many wonderful characters in this story, some you will love and some you won’t. It’s my advice to read the first book before diving into this one. This book is original and intriguing, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this book.

One of my favorite things about this author’s stories is her ability to bring the story to life. Her attention to details make you feel as if you are part of the story. She writes with a lot of heart and sweet romance. This story is no different. She brings sweet romance to a new level for me. This is one of my favorites by her yet. Chloe dreams of leaving her hometown to start a life in a city. She has been dealing with a long distance romance with her high school sweetheart. What will happen when fate puts Isaac in her path? He is able to win her over but with his rising basketball star position and his internship life may just throw some curveballs. Will they find their HEA or what does fate have in store for them? I enjoyed watching their relationship grow and Chloe’s struggle with both men in her life. They made great characters and really made the story pop. I highly recommend reading this book to find out if there is an HEA for one of them.
Accepted by Lisa Wood is book 2 in the Rhodes Family Series. Book 1 and 2 kind of take place at the same time. While reading book 2 which has the main focus on Ava, Hunter and Thomas, there are some parts about Gabe and Liv in there that was mentioned in book 1. I love having the back story on the trio. This book was so good and I loved the characters. For a minute there I was like no way, not again!!! Only to find out it was quite the opposite. I love the character of Ava! I cannot wait for more of this family series.

Devil’s Claw is the third book in Valerie Davisson’s Logan McKenna series. You can read it as a standalone as it has its own ‘story’ but like with any other series, I feel that one should start from the beginning as every book builds upon the previous one when it comes to the characters that are there from one book to the other. I loved the opening to the story – having an old man reflecting on his life and writing a letter that would have an impact 40 years later … powerful. Also, I lover Pacific Northwest so the detailed description of the nature and the maritime life, especially the otters … such a treat! Obviously as it is Logan McKenna story, it means there is a violent death that brings along so many different layers of human nature – we get thrown into greed, personal loss while we also have the hope through the community keeping together and the trust and love we find there … Welcome to the fight for the Lot 429!

Kells knows how to get attention with everything she writes. So far I’ve read all The Dark Sparrow Novels and I can’t wait for more. These characters will never be forgotten.
Liam, a cop and the fourth brother to Lazarus, is upset that they didn’t bring down their father. Gabrielle had to leave as an emergency came up, but she brought a gift. Someone to cut Finch’s money. The quote I chose for Liam is: “I never played you, in any way, Catriona. I’ve never liked deception. When I kissed you, it was because I couldn’t help myself. If Deva hadn’t barged in, things would’ve gone further than a kiss. I only stopped because I think you’re making a mistake.”
Catriona, very close to becoming a nun, is brought to Chicago to help a family out. With the eldest brother being in a coma she does what she can. When she uncovers something she runs, but she saves someone else. The quote I chose for Catriona is: “We’re on this earth to make mistakes. Do you think that’s the first time I’ve ever thought about being with a man, sleeping with one? When you choose a path, you have to relinquish several more. No one goes into a religious life without considering that, otherwise, the weight of the commitment would break you in two. This sci-fi romance was action packed and fast paced. Graf really did a great job weaving this story together and putting two extremely strong characters at the helm. I enjoyed reading this story and this was one that I found I raced through without even meaning to. Really enjoyable read and one I will recommend to others.

I love a good historical adventure/romance. And I LOVE when there is an accent involved. I can always hear the lovely brogue in my head but cannot replicate it on my own. Regardless I thought this was an exciting, extremely well written adventure that held my attention from the very first page. Exciting, passionate, and action packed, this book had my attention immediately. I loved this book and cannot wait to read more in this universe.

What a fast paced read! I knew from the first chapter I was going to really enjoy this book. A bit sci fi, a bit fantasy, a bit of romance – just a very cool mix of themes and so action packed I was done before I realized I’d even really started. I didn’t know when I picked this up that it was part of a series but I reads great on its own. I look forward to going back to read the rest of the series to explore this world in greater detail. A great book and one I will gladly recommend.
This series continues to capture my attention and draw me in immediately. To fully appreciate the depth and development of the main character, you should read this in series order. However it is not necessary to follow the story or enjoy it. Logan has found herself in the middle of another thrilling situation and I couldn’t walk away from this book without finding out what the last page held. I’m thoroughly enjoying this series and look forward to seeing how the series will continue. Definitely recommended reading.

Nolan, I believe, has perfected the crime/thriller genre. This latest book is just as fast paced and action packed as previous works. Jake and Cody find themselves almost immediately entangled in another blockbuster adventure. These books are so riveting and vivid they read like a movie. You can see the images as you devour each word. This is a must read for all crime/thriller lovers. You won’t go wrong with any of Nolan’s works!

I love historical fiction and this book sounded like it was right up my alley. Kang weaves a rich tale based in the pre WWII Chicago. I found the premise fascinating and found myself invested in the characters fairly quickly. Overall I found this to be a good read but one I believe I will more greatly appreciate in the context of the larger universe within the series. I look forward to picking up the next book.

Perfect Always by Tricia Copeland and a fun and entertaining story that I really enjoyed reading from the moment I picked it up. Chloe is one of those characters that you cannot help but get behind and really engage with. She was strong yet sweet and I liked that she wasn’t afraid to follow her own dreams, even when it meant making difficult decisions. Tricia Copeland is a great author who really knows how to create consistently good stories. She has a natural writing style that allows the story to flow easily and develop in the best way. I always enjoy reading of her books and this one is no exception!
John The Baptist: As His Soul Remembers by Stuart Ledwith is an interesting story about a well known religious figure. It felt like quite a good historical retelling of a life so many know already know. I liked how the book has a fact based approach to it as it took away from the “religious” aspect that could have come through. I really do enjoy the writing style this authors brings to his books. I find it easy to engage with and always find the content to be interesting. It felt like I was learning so much while reading this book and I really enjoyed that. Although not the usual type of book I would choose this was definitely a great book.

This is my first historical pirate romance story. I would have to say that this story grabbed me from the first page until the last. The story’s foundation is solid which makes it believable. The characters are complex and fully developed. I love the idea that a pirate learns to love more than the sea air and the treasure they find/loot/steal. Valen is a new captain of a pirate ship. He thought that he would never have romance as his life is on the seas. That all halted when he found Lady Bridget. He has fallen for her but there is one problem, she is betrothed to another man. There are some tough decisions that Lady Bridget needs to make and Valen needs to live with the decisions that she makes. Will the high seas call to Lady Bridget? Can Valen be a new captain and respect the decisions that are made? Will he fight for the woman he falls for? I highly recommend reading this story to find out these answers and so much more.

I loved reading the book Tompkin’s School: For The Dearly Departed (A Supernatural Academy Trilogy Book 2) by Tabi Slick. It is a story that includes mystery, danger, and suspense. It is a book that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I loved reading about the characters of Kain and Izara. They are finding out how their powers are more advanced than they thought. They are also finding out how hard it is to control these new abilities. Will a newcomer to the school be able to help them? Can they trust this newcomer? What is in store for Kain and Izara? Read this book to find out. The author has woven a tale that is exciting and entertaining. Each page will have you trying to figure out just what is going on. The author has also done an amazing job of making the characters come alive on the pages. Some characters are helpful to Kain and Izara and others have an agenda. Who is telling the truth and who can be trusted? This is the second book in a trilogy and the stories are best read in order. I highly recommend reading this book and series and look forward to the next book.

Perfect Always By Tricia Copeland 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book Perfect Always by Tricia Copeland. It is a story that once I started, I was hooked. I love the character of Chloe. She is an intelligent, strong, and independent young woman who has dreams that she is trying to make come true. She has a high-school sweetheart, Adam. Theirs is a long-distance relationship. Then there is Isaac. A basketball player who catches Chloe’s eye and heart. What does the future hold for Chloe? Who will she find true happiness with? Will all of her dreams come true? Read this book to find out. Chloe is a character that I grew to care about with each chapter that I read. I wanted her to find happiness. She is a character that I was rooting for her to succeed in all that she does. This is a book that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. The author does an amazing job of making both the storyline and the characters come alive on the pages. Don’t miss out on a wonderful story that is entertaining and you won’t want to put down until you have read the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

Rookie Moves: A Quick Snap Novella by Tarrah Anders is part of Kristen Proby’s With Me In Seattle Universe. At only 99 pages it’s a great quick read that I devoured in just over an hour. I have previously read, and enjoyed, other books by Tarrah Anders and I love a sports star romance so was looking forward to reading Rookie Moves. Although it was over too quickly, I really did enjoy this novella. Grant Toolson is the bad boy rookie at Seattle and needs to get his bad boy behaviour under control. While attending events to give him a better profile he meets the Mayors daughter, Emily Masterson. Let’s just say that Emily is not the prim and proper girl that she has to portray herself as. Will she lead Grant into even more trouble? I loved the camaraderie between Grant and Emily. I loved reading the escapades that the two of them got up to and there was usually some danger involved. Even in such a short book, the path to true love never runs smooth and Grant and Emily find out some disturbing news which could being their budding relationship to a quick end. Will their feelings for each other be enough to keep them together? Have a read and find out. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

It Comes From Within (House Valdis Book 2) by Naomi Valkyrie is one of those stories that you start in the middle and then you get the backstory later. Like Star Wars. In this second book of the House Valdis series, we finally get a taste of Xenobia’s backstory. In the house of Valdis there is a collection of imperfect misfits misplaced souls that are living and working together just trying to have a family like situation. To be sure there is a mystery to be solved and at the center of that mystery is Xenobia’s past. This is an easy quick read that will whet your appetite for more of Xenobia’s story. Do be aware there are some alternate lifestyle themes cause, you know, different strokes for different folks. This is a good second book and I’m expecting the next one to surpass this one.

DEADLY WEAPON (Jake Wolfe Book 5) by Mark Nolan, I have really become a fan of this author. I really like action-packed stories and this one gives me all that and more. Almost from the first rattle out of the bag Jake is in deep and from there it’s a roller coaster ride of one situation after another. I love the subtle romance between Jake and his girlfriend she is truly his match and tough-as-nails. As qualified and capable as Jake is he is not a “just follow orders” type of guy, he made the only decision that made sense in the end. This is a timely book, (read coronavirus), even though it was written before the events of this year, so be sure to read the fact sheet at the end about what is real and what is not real, I really enjoyed them. This is a great read and I’d recommend this author to anybody.

The third book in A Dark Sparrow Novels. Kells has really upped her game from the first two books. Lazarus is at it again with helping one of the many half brothers and Kells captures it perfectly.
Isabel is the next Dark Sparrow to be called upon the favor. What she doesn’t realize when she agrees to the meeting is she’ll be running right into the past’s arms. Jones isn’t who she expected to see and it gets better. The quote I chose for Isabel is: “No pressure. Because all I want is you.”
Kai, Delta Force, goes to another meeting in hopes to bring down his father, Finch. What he’s not expecting is for the girl who broke his heart and got away is the one that’s helping. This is the second book of A Dark Sparrow Novels. As the second book I’ve read by the author I can say I’ve enjoyed it. Kells knows how to capture a reader’s attention.
Zoe knows her languages and is requested by Beatrice for a favor. Keep an eye on one of Lazarus’s half brothers. Not sure what she’s getting herself into she goes. She finds herself going back to the past. The quote I chose for Zoe is: “You had love in your life, and even if you struggled and battled through some tough times, you had a choice to do something with it. Grabbing that power. I will never judge you for the decisions you made, that path on the dark side. I would have done the same thing. Hell, I’m doing it right now. At least love brought you back. You always have a choice, Archer. Never forget that.”
Archer Blackwood, moves from London to Chicago, a cold man needs someone who can translate languages for him. What he doesn’t know is his half brother is really looking out for him. Zoe has thawed the cold man a little. The quote I chose for Archer is: “Don’t put yourself in danger, do you hear me? Steer clear of Finch. You’re mine.”
This is the first book in A Dark Sparrow Series. This is the first book I’ve read by the author, but it won’t be my last. Kells has really done a great job writing this.
Deva, a Dark Sparrow, goes to help Lazarus. He wants to watch his brothers and make sure he’s kept out of harm’s way. Little does Deva know that the brother is going to capture her heart. The quote I chose for Deva is: “I agree. And I couldn’t stop thinking about what Finch and my father had said. All those speeches about patience, about preparing for war. What if he was speaking about a war from within? What if Finch had prepared things way in advance, and placed his pawns in strategic places.”
Aleksei, Lazarus’s half brother, trains at the gym only to find his Angel there. He keeps her at arms length, but when he’s injured she’s the one to help him. Things get tough and he pushes her away. The quote I chose for Aleksei is: “You put yourself in danger! I told you to stay at the hotel under Lance and Kai’s protection, but you didn’t listen. You don’t listen! And now that I know you are safe, still breathing , still alive and whole…”
This is recommended for MC lovers and if course romance lovers.

I simply loved this book and couldn’t put it down until I finished. Xenobia is back and determined to prove she’s not like previous leaders , but what will happen when blood den is found? I loved this paranormal/fantasy and the characters were all very well written. Find out what happens next in this must read . I look forward to reading more from this Author.

This is the first book in A Dark Sparrow Series. This is the first book I’ve read by the author, but it won’t be my last. Kells has really done a great job writing this.
Deva, a Dark Sparrow, goes to help Lazarus. He wants to watch his brothers and make sure he’s kept out of harm’s way. Little does Deva know that the brother is going to capture her heart. The quote I chose for Deva is: “I agree. And I couldn’t stop thinking about what Finch and my father had said. All those speeches about patience, about preparing for war. What if he was speaking about a war from within? What if Finch had prepared things way in advance, and placed his pawns in strategic places.”
Aleksei, Lazarus’s half brother, trains at the gym only to find his Angel there. He keeps her at arms length, but when he’s injured she’s the one to help him. Things get tough and he pushes her away. The quote I chose for Aleksei is: “You put yourself in danger! I told you to stay at the hotel under Lance and Kai’s protection, but you didn’t listen. You don’t listen! And now that I know you are safe, still breathing , still alive and whole…”
Cold Bastard (A Dark Sparrow Novel #2)
This is the second book of A Dark Sparrow Novels. As the second book I’ve read by the author I can say I’ve enjoyed it. Kells knows how to capture a reader’s attention.
Zoe knows her languages and is requested by Beatrice for a favor. Keep an eye on one of Lazarus’s half brothers. Not sure what she’s getting herself into she goes. She finds herself going back to the past. The quote I chose for Zoe is: “You had love in your life, and even if you struggled and battled through some tough times, you had a choice to do something with it. Grabbing that power. I will never judge you for the decisions you made, that path on the dark side. I would have done the same thing. Hell, I’m doing it right now. At least love brought you back. You always have a choice, Archer. Never forget that.”
Archer Blackwood, moves from London to Chicago, a cold man needs someone who can translate languages for him. What he doesn’t know is his half brother is really looking out for him. Zoe has thawed the cold man a little. The quote I chose for Archer is: “Don’t put yourself in danger, do you hear me? Steer clear of Finch. You’re mine.”
Wild Bastard (A Dark Sparrow Novel #3)
The third book in A Dark Sparrow Novels. Kells has really upped her game from the first two books. Lazarus is at it again with helping one of the many half brothers and Kells captures it perfectly.
Isabel is the next Dark Sparrow to be called upon the favor. What she doesn’t realize when she agrees to the meeting is she’ll be running right into the past’s arms. Jones isn’t who she expected to see and it gets better. The quote I chose for Isabel is: “No pressure. Because all I want is you.”
Kai, Delta Force, goes to another meeting in hopes to bring down his father, Finch. What he’s not expecting is for the girl who broke his heart and got away is the one that’s helping. Things don’t go as planned and it scares him. The quote I chose for Kai is: “Are you still set on returning to work tomorrow?”
This was one amazing box set. Dark romantic suspense lovers these are your books!

This is my fourth read by this author and so far I think this is my favorite. It was predictable yet enjoyable getting to the final pages. I loved the concept of this book and loved that I smiled and laughed almost all the way through. I loved the family aspect, Penny’s sisters were so much fun and their bonds strong, and I loved their names. Geo’s bond with his sister and nephew touched my heart through the whole book.
There was just enough history given between Penny and Geo to be able to understand where each was coming from in their feelings for each other. The different avenues they went on for their stories were each a lot of fun to watch and a few quite funny!
This was a one sitting read for me and I sincerely enjoyed every second of it. I loved both of these characters and couldn’t wait to see how it all ended.

I give Rose by Any Other Name (The Sisters, Texas Mystery Series, Book 10) by Becki Willis, 5 stars.
I loved this book!! I had only read the first book in the series before I picked up this one, so I missed what went on in between, but the author did a great job of making me feel like I didn’t miss a thing. The characters are what really make this series so good. All of the ones you love are back, as well as some new ones. This is a cozy mystery book that will keep you guessing until the end. I had an idea, but didn’t know exactly what was going on, and was definitely surprised at the end. I love that in a whodunit!! What makes this exceptional to me was getting the teenagers in on their own mystery. It wasn’t added as an afterthought or just to pull in younger readers. This was blended into the book in such a way that had you guessing which mystery was more important. I absolutely loved this. The teens are smart and hard-working — they don’t expect the adults to do everything, but at the same time they know when to ask for help.
These mysteries together made for an exceptional book that I could not put down. I will definitely be reading more from this series.
