Her Blackened Heart (The Blackened Series Book 2) By Isra Sravenheart 5 out of 5 stars
The book Her Blackened Heart (The Blackened Series Book 2) by Isra Sravenheart is a story that I loved reading. It has witches, magic, and danger. Lady Isra is up to her old self. She is a dark witch and her actions show this. She wants to lead Contessia, a good witch who believes in love and light, astray. There is also a war that has begun against a known foe, Everilda. What does the future hold for Contessia and Everilda? Will Lady Isra’s plans succeed? Read this book to find out. This is a story that is wonderfully written. It is exciting and entertaining. Once I started the book, I didn’t want to put it down until the final page. Another interesting character and part of the story is Lady Isra’s raven companion. The author does a wonderful job of taking you into a land of fantasy where you never know just what will happen next. The characters and the storyline come alive and I found myself lost in the pages. Don’t miss out on this amazing fantasy book. I highly recommend reading it.

VANISHING DAY (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 4) By Valerie Davisson 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book VANISHING DAY (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 4) by Valerie Davisson. It is a story that once I started, I was hooked. It is a book that includes mystery, suspense, and danger. The more stories that I read in this series, the more I grow to love the character of Logan. She is a woman who is intelligent, strong-willed, and once she is faced with a mystery is determined to find out the truth. This book has Logan’s neighbor attacked with her three-year-old daughter the only witness. Logan may hold a clue to that attack. Is the attacker going to now come after Logan? Logan’s neighbor is in the ICU. Will she recover? Read this book to find out what happens. This is a story that had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. The author writes with such detail that I feel like I am right there with the characters. Some of the additional characters in this book have been brought forward from the first three stories. Logan has a wonderful group of friends who care about her. Don’t miss out on a story that is exciting and entertaining. I highly recommend reading it.

4 Star HIGH FLYER (Verdant String) by Michelle Diener is a wonderfully written Sci-Fi/Fantasy/ Romance that is fast paced and packed with action. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down till I finished. This is my first book by this author but definitely not my last. I didn’t realize until I started reading that this is the fourth book in the series but each can be read as standalones. Im definitely going to check out the others. Hana and Iver , she’s not looking for a relationship and seemed a bit standoffish at first and he feels like he got his position by default. The one person he wants acts like she has no interest. But does she really? What happens when position puts them on the run? Find out what happens next. I highly recommend reading this book and can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Another great story from this series. I always love the facts we learn about different things in each book. This one was no different, as we learn about sea otters! Where there is Logan, there is trouble and this one didn’t disappoint. Probably my favorite of the series so far! I wont be givibg many details away as I don’t want to spoil the story. Can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading in order as to get the whole experience that is Logan McKenna.

This book was once again written brilliantly, with brilliant descriptions and epic high fantasy, romance, action & adventure, It was a captivating and engaging read from the very beginning. This book picks up right after book 1 so I highly suggest that you read them both in order to get the full experience of the characters stories and journeys from the very beginning.
This book fully captivates you into this world the author has created and you get lost within the pages, it feels like you are there within the story living it out alongside the characters. You will never get bored while reading this book, it’s fast-paced and will leave you wanting more! I can’t wait to read more from this author and to see what else will come to series! I highly recommend this book and this author.

John the Baptist: As His Soul Remembers by Stuart Ledwith is a story about religion and spirituality and is an interesting story. This is definitely not my style of book, but it was informative. I was intrigued by the fact that he was preaching on many things, but gender equality really stands out for me. It is a story of a man so entrenched in his beliefs that he wants to share it with everyone but like all religion not everyone wants to listen to what he has to say. John the Baptist a historical retelling of the man and his life/work/beliefs.

Better To Have Loved: A True Story by Christy Nicholas was a great read. It is a little different from the other books of hers that I have read- but still had all the touching and emotive qualities that I have come to expect from her books. As the title would suggest, this is a true story- based on her parents love- and as the author tells it, this is the story that inspired her to begin her writing career. This is a story of love, family, growth, a little mystery, adventure, memories, hope, and faith. I won’t reveal any of the details- as I really think this is one story that you should go into without knowing too much- and let Ms. Nicholas and her story, surprise you. Well done!

Heartbreak Rebellion is a collection of stories in the Hero High series by Mina Chara. It contains ‘Depression’ Book Four, ‘Acceptance’ Book Five, and ‘Hero’ Book Six. This is a fantastic way to follow this superb series- three books in one. But I really recommend reading the first three books before embarking on this collection- either by getting each title individually, or by reading ‘Figure in the Flames’ which contains the first three books. The series has a continuing storyline, and even though Ms. Chara does do a nice job of catching us up on what has transpired previously- nothing beats reading the action for yourself. This is a young adult fantasy adventure series set in a ‘superhero’ high school/TV show- it’s full of action, danger, superheros, villains, pressures of fame, responsibility, angst, and a little romance. The story/series is set in a near future world, Icon City, and follows Friday Fitzsimmons on quite an incredible adventure. I thought this set of books were a little darker and edgier than the previous three, making for an even more intriguing read. So, if you love young adult fantasy, with plenty of action, adventure, and superheroes- then this is definitely a story/series you won’t want to miss.

This is the fourth book in this series. I have read all the books in this series and they just keep getting better and better. They bring action, suspense and mystery to a new level. This is a well developed story that has characters that bring the story alive. I was pulled into this story right from the beginning and was kept engaged to the end. It is a fast paced story that has twists and turns that kept me turning pages. The characters are connectable and supportive of each other. Logan is back in another investigation. This time she finds that her friend isn’t who she says she is. As her new neighbor clings to life in the hospital, Logan is trying to draw out the killer. The deeper she digs and the deeper she gets and she just may not find her way back out. You don’t want to miss Logan in another suspenseful investigation looking for a killer. Logan is one of my favorite characters. She is strong, determined and nothing gets in her way of finding what she wants. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series to get to know Logan more. This is an entertaining story that I highly recommend.

The Body Collectoris the third book in the Bad Boys of Space Series by Landra Graf. It is a bit of a swashbuckling space adventure- a sci-fi romance with drama, intrigue, suspense, a little mystery, plenty of danger, hidden agendas, betrayal, corruption, politics, violence, murder, crime, humor, banter, set-ups, gun fights, and some incredible world building. The story could be read as a standalone as each book in the series focuses on a different couple- but having said that, some of the characters play a part in each book, meaning there are quite a few recurring characters that add an interesting dynamic to the story/series. I really recommend reading the first two book before reading this one, as they will certainly elevate your enjoyment of this book with character details, dynamics, and interesting backstories. Loyda Miles is an Investigator working undercover- assigned to try get to the bottom of a drug distribution ring- and find out why so many people have disappeared from all over the sector. Her search has led her to a BCS (Body Collective Service) ship and its motley crew. So, she signs on as part of the crew to see what she can unearth. Loyda soon realizes that what seemed like a simple undercover assignment isn’t quite as straightforward as she thought- and she may be completely out of her depth. Finding the crew involved in some shady and illegal dealings, she uses the information to blackmail the hunky captain into helping her with her mission. Things get even more complicated when her boss is killed and she is accused of the crime. Loyda is now on the wrong side of the law- a fugitive, and at the mercy of the very man she blackmailed not so long ago. With danger lurking around every corner, sizzling chemistry about to boil over, and the authorities hot on their tail- Loyda is determined to uncover the person/s responsible and clear her name. But she is up against a powerful enemy who is determined to stop the real truth from ever emerging- at all cost! So, strap yourself in, because this quite a gripping ride.

Beautiful story for young adults trying to make their way in the real world as love is pertained to. This story is about taking chances in love and life with your goals. As we enter these characters’ minds, we realize what their doubts and fears are but this makes the perfect love triangle that we don’t know which man to choose for Chloe. Easy to love characters, romantic scenes and very entertaining. This book is a great read!

Perfect always is a Young Adult romance where the vivacious bubbly heroine Chloe has to make a choice between her old flame, who lives in the country side or the basketball player, with whom she starts a budding relationship. Parts of this book reminded me of Sweet home Alabama. If you are looking for a light-hearted romance and a quick breezy read, this book is for you.
This whole series is worth the read – you will definitely want to read them in order. I love Sci-Fi/Fantasy books and Miss Valkyrie has done an amazing job with the multiple storylines, the characters, and keeping the reader wanting more. Xenobia is a woman who is strong, independent, empathetic, and kind to those around her. In this book, we see the strain Xenobia is under as a leader to keep her business going.

Deadly Weapon is the 5th book in the Jake Wolfe series by Mark Nolan. I have read them all, but you don’t have to read them in order. The story definitely continues as far as Jake and Cody’s friendships but there is enough background information provided to enjoy, starting anywhere in the series. I like these books because they are a good suspense with a touch of mystery and humor. When I first started, I thought it was weird how Nolan writes about Cody’s feelings and thoughts, but now I’m used it it and it doesn’t phase me. This story hits a little too close to home, with COVID 19 happening right now. At the end of the book the author does say how he started this book long before the epidemic started. However, a lot of the details are close to the conspiracy theories out there. Over all, well written book and great addition to the series. Highly recommend it.

Perfect Always by Tricia Copeland is part of the Perfect series, and an amazing read! This book is definitely a standalone, you don’t have to read the first one to understand the plot and story of this one. I absolutely loved reading this novel! Very well written, with a great plot and storyline I could hardly put it down until I finished it all. I enjoyed all the characters, they were absolutely great! And it was very romantic, without all the steam if you don’t enjoy the raunchy-ness of other romance series. It was also very easy to read! This was the first book I’ve read from this author but it definitely won’t be my last. I highly recommend this novel!
THAT INCREDIBLE KISS (Kissed By Fate Book 3) by Tamara Ferguson. Once again this author knocked me off my feet with a story I loved every minute of. Ashley and Brian pull you so completely into their story you may find it hard to believe it’s all words in a book. Each character brings something unique to the storyline and are so well developed I felt an instant connection. This isn’t my first book by this author but I’ll be honest it is definitely in my top 2 favorites of her books. This one had a bit of a different feel to me in all the right ways. I found myself lost in the pages and not caring how long I was there for. I simply couldn’t put it down. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything and the characters are incredible. Five huge stars and highly recommended. Can’t wait to see where this author takes readers next!

The Crocodile Makes No Sound (The Lord Hani Mysteries Book 2) by N.L. Holmes. This one was just as good as book one. The author definitely has a way with words. From page one I was completely drawn into the story world that’s been created for readers. The characters are complex and easy to connect with they truly pull you right into their world. I was happy to get lost within the pages of this book. While there’s lots going on the author has a way of making it all go smoothly and never lets things get so crazy it’s confusing. It’s a well written story and the characters are well developed. I’m definitely looking forward to more from this author. Four stars and highly recommended!

She’s No Cowgirl is an entertaining sports romance by Brooke May. I have read a few of Ms. May’s books now and as I have mentioned previously, I love the way she brings her characters to life, and how easily she is able to get her readers invested in both the story and the characters. Her characters are so realistic and entirely believable. With some secrets, drama, and a little scandal- this story certainly held my attention the whole way through. I liked Hunter and Kennedy- they really were perfect for each other. Each trying to forge their own way, each determined to keep true to themselves. When their worlds collide, things got quite interesting. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. May has in store for us next!

Tompkin’s School For The Dearly Departed is the second book in the Supernatural Academy Trilogy by Tabi Slick. It is an original young adult paranormal academy story/series- with drama, mystery, action, adventure, suspense, and some fabulous world building. After reading the first book in the series, I was hooked, and couldn’t wait to read what came next. We meet twins Izzy and Kain in Book One, two teenager who have some pretty unique abilities- but they seem to consider their powers to be more of a curse than a benefit. They still don’t fully understand their abilities- and are still looking for answers. With unknown enemies lurking, it makes knowing who to trust quite difficult. What ensues makes for a fantastic adventure! I really recommend reading book one- so as not to feel ‘lost’ in this story. I think going into this book as a standalone could be a little confusing- so do yourself a favour and read Book #1 first. Bring on the next book!

Rock Star on the Verge (Rogue Series Book 9) by Lara Ward Cosio is a coming of age story but not just for the young character Donal but for the older character Conor who is turning the big 40. It is a story where we can all relate and think about a variety of topics such as what comes next, where we are in our lives and then there is the touchy subject of depression. It is a story where family lean and learn from each other and bonds formed. It is well written and definitely a journey in more ways than one.

Rockstar on the Verge is the ninth book in the Rogue Series by Lara Ward Cosio. I would class this is a ’second-generation’ story as it not only involves characters we have met and loved in previous “Rogue” series books, but now we get to meet/follow one of the “Rogue” kids- Donel Whelan- son of Martin Wheelan (from ‘Finding Rhythm’ Book #4) and nephew of Connor Quinn (from ‘Playing At Love’ Book #2 and ‘Felicity Found’ Book #6). This is a superb coming of age, Rockstar adventure- a journey of discovery on a road trip through Europe, with emotion and some drama. Ms. Ward Cosio’s attention to detail, and masterful character development gave this story a real heart and soul- and made for a wonderful read. I love this series, so I was quite excited to get my hands on this latest instalment. To be honest, though, I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy it as much as the previous books, as I really didn’t know how I felt about a second generation story- could Donel live up to the older generation- the Rogues. But I needn’t have worried as Ms. Ward Cosio quickly drew me into her story and soon had me investing in everything that was going on. The fact that the story is told from multiple perspectives, characters we have followed in the past, as well as Donel- really gave this story extra dimension and depth. I am impressed by Ms. Ward Cosio’s ability to write complex, realistic and believable characters and giving her stories a real emotional factor. She also doesn’t shy away from sensitive topics- and doesn’t try to gloss over any of the grittier details. A worthy addition to the series! I am looking forward to seeing what Ms. Ward Cosio has in store for us next!

Kickflip Summer is the debut novel by Danielle Jacks. It is a sweet young adult/new adult romance- with endearing characters, and a fun storyline. Kara wants to have some fun over summer with her best friend Toby, before heading to university. Bear is under pressure from his father to take over the family business. So, this looks like it might be his last summer of skateboarding. A story of summertime fun, young love, friendship, family, responsibility- and how life can sometimes throw you a curveball. Fall of the Western Kings is the first book in the Tirumfall Trilogy by J. Drew Brumbaugh. This is an epic fantasy, full of action, adventure, magic, demons, dragons, wizards, knights, elves, danger, drama, surprising developments- and a story of good vs evil. Gant is thrust into quite an epic adventure, meeting some very intriguing characters along the way- and I loved following along, getting a front row seat to all the action and interesting developments. This story is quite original, and the world building was richly detailed and well crafted. The story was a little slow to get going, but after a few chapters, the pace picked up and the story took off. This story really sets the series off to a great start and I can’t wait to see what the next book holds.

What a great read!! I have been enjoying this series from the beginning. I love reading about the adventure that Jake and Cody find themselves on. This book is full of action, danger, suspense, twists and turns and so much more. I was happy to see that characters from the other books were brought to this one. It’s always a pleasure to read the pages that have Cody talking. I found myself on the edge of my seat throughout most of this book. The author is an exceptional writer that keeps me entertained and I find it impossible to put the book down until I finish it. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Hero High:: Heartbreak Rebellion (Hero High Collections Book 2) by Mina Chara. I’m a sucker for box sets it’s just a great way to one be introduced to new authors and two have the books back to back. This series has completely pulled me in from the very beginning. The characters are complex and relatable, the storyline smooth and engaging. The author does a wonderful job of writing even the smallest of details out enough that the story comes alive for the readers. Each book takes you on an adventure you won’t be forgetting anytime soon. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. The characters are complex and pull you into their story world and you’ll have fun getting lost in the pages for a while. Four stars and highly recommended.

Former TOPGUN pilot Clint Davenport is the newly-crowned prince of public radio now that he’s hosting America’s most popular drive-time show. The ladies can’t get enough of this Flying Ace, but he’s all out of runway for the fairer sex because of a tragedy that haunts him. But life is perfect, or at least that’s what he keeps saying. Until he finds himself on the ropes (literally) at a company retreat and the only person who can bring him in for a safe landing is his office frenemy, who seems as comfortable in a climbing harness as he used to be in an F-18.
At twenty-eight, Erin Hung was still living with her parents in Honolulu, so when her favorite cousin invited her to move to glittering Los Angeles, she made the leap. After four years, this late bloomer has blossomed. She owns her own condo in gorgeous Pasadena, has the love of a good male—her Shiba Inu, Atticus—and is the badass marketing manager for America’s #1 radio show. But she still has a lot to prove and is gunning for a promotion. She doesn’t have time for distractions, especially romantic ones…and there’s no way she’s interested in that cocky ex-fighter pilot who just got tapped as host. Unfortunately, working with Mr. Cockpit Cockypants is the only way to get her raise.
When work forces them together, it seems like the beginning of a new Cold War, or maybe Clint’s high-flying charm is just what Erin needs to see there’s more to life than just work.

Wow…there is a lot going on in this book and it is an amazing ride. While this book may be intimidating due to the amount of pages, I found myself flipping through them so fast and I arrived at the end of the story before I knew it. I was so engrossed in the story that I completely tuned out the world around me.
Martin, the CEO of Chase Security, is called home when his brother ends up in the hospital. Elizabeth is the doctor treating Martin’s brother. The two share a heartbroken past that they must face when they see each other again. This is not your typical second-chance romance, though. First, R.L. Dunn makes them work hard to move beyond the past and even have a chance at a future. Oh…and there’s the web of prisoner abuse and other crimes that they must unravel along the way.
This book was fast paced and action packed. I read it from cover to cover in one evening because I couldn’t put it down (I had to know how it was going to end!). There were twists and turns along the way which kept me fully invested until the end. I enjoyed the first book…but I loved this book! This series is amazing and I can’t wait to see what R.L. Dunn has in store next!
