It’s Joanie’s first Christmas as a bakery owner, and although her recipes are perfect, her holiday window decorating skills leave something to be desired.
As items around town disappear, the spirit of the season gets overshadowed. Rumors swirl as residents speculate whodunnit. And when one of the missing pieces is an engagement ring last seen in her shop, Joanie’s reputation as a baker and matchmaker is put in jeopardy.
Joanie thought her new town was safe, but is it? Is it all a prank, or tied to the Christmas gnomes that get moved each night, or is something more sinister going on?
Will Christmas magic be on her side, allowing Joanie to find the ring and win over Heartwood Hollow with her cookies? Or will her efforts for a sweet holiday season for all turn sour?
Sweets and Santa is a paranormal Christmas cozy mystery novella. It and the rest of The Matchmaking Baker series can be read in any order before, during, or after reading The Matchmaker’s Grimoire series.
Rosie Pease is a native Rhode Islander but has lived in Vermont, New York, and Ohio. She uses the places she’s traveled to as inspiration for the settings of her cozy mysteries, pulling the theater from one, the cider mill from another, the river from another to create a fictitious town that feels familiar.
She collects Funko Pops of the Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Doctor Who, DC TV, and Marvel variety, with a few others thrown in for fun. Her desk is a mess, but she can find everything on it, so it works for her.
When she’s not writing, she’s playing with her daughter, hanging out with her husband, or being amused by her two crazy cats.

Book Review: The Sound of Silence Author: Dakota Willink FIVE STARS
Dakota Willink is a wonderful romantic suspense writer. This book is no exception. This book has a trigger warning in the beginning and I highly recommend that anyone with these triggers avoid this book. However anyone who is a suspense lover will devour this book like I did. I picked this up and started reading and just couldn’t put it down. The Sound of Silence is a gripping story about a woman who is lead to believe that the man she has fallen in love with is someone he truly isn’t. On her wedding night she meets a stranger and they chatted for a while. Then three years later, Well no spoilers but you will just have to read the book and find out how their paths cross again and what happens. KLH
I loved reading this story!! I was pulled in from the start and had a hard time putting it down. I found this book to be original, gripping, and has great characters. There is suspense and twists and turns. Both Edith and Darren learn some new things that were unexpected. Will they find Dan? Where will their search lead them? To find out these things and more, this is a must read. I am so glad I decided to dive into this book and I can’t wait to read the next one. I highly recommend this book.

This is Grumblers and Mary’s story. And it was interesting because its an older couple and that isnt something you see often. These two are matched perfectly. Its a slow pace but works perfectly because its a bit more in depth. This is quickly becoming a fantastically favorite series of mine!!! Bravo Manda!!!!

Starvation is the first book I have read by Molly Fennig, but I would absolutely read more. This is one of the best books I have read in a long time, it will leave a lasting impression. I caution the reader, as it is a very emotional book. It is very well written, where we can see and feel what the characters are going through. There is a lot of struggle and heartbreak, but also a lot of true feelings teens go through in their lives. It is very real. I never really thought about how one develops eating disorders, or what they may think and feel. But this book gets right down into the nitty gritty. I love that it shows it from both male and female perspectives, to eliminate the gender divide. It alternates time perspective, which was so unique. We see the before and after Wes hits his break, until the end when the two timelines meet and transform into the now. It was not confusing at all, and I loved seeing the transition of how things ended up the way they did. Highly recommend this book!

Gianluca by Isabella Cassazza was my first book by this author and it was the blurb that got my attention. Who wouldn’t love to get an internship with a popular Italian fashion business and to have a boss who is sexy but so arrogant? Callie and Gianluca are the type of couple that you can’t see together because of the bantering but you keep reading because you want more. This was a perfect start to this series and I’m looking forward to reading more.

This is the first book I’ve read by Sola and it won’t be my last. Sola had me entertained the entire time. Unwrapped is the perfect love story.
Miranda goes to her mom’s work Christmas party since her dad doesn’t want to go. Her mom has talked non-stop about her boss and none of it is good. What her mom leaves out is her boss is HOT. The quote I chose for Miranda is: “It’s so beautiful. It doesn’t even look like the same place.”
Nick goes to take over for his uncle while he’s out recovering. Learning that his ex won’t be spending time in jail makes for a bad first day. The company Christmas party is the last thing he wants to do, but it’s the best thing that has ever happened to him. The quote I chose for Nick is: “I’m sorry. I was an a**. I was scared I was going to lose you, so I lashed out. I didn’t want to go through what I went through a year ago. Hell, what I feel for you doesn’t come close to anything I’ve ever felt before, and I couldn’t deal with the idea of you walking away.”
Highly recommended for contemporary romance lovers.

Eye of Death: A paranormal romance (Vampire State Book 3) by Alexander Charalambides 4 Stars!!!!
I have once again ventured into this vampire state and I was not disappointed. I really like the flow and continuity of this series. I find that the author has a very original story. I really felt as though the characters just jumped right off of the page. I was totally glued to the book from start to finish.
I once again found that Rowena really drew my attention. I felt the emotions as she went through them. The intrigue and the drama is really balanced with the romance. I found that the story really flowed and I felt as though I was right there in it. I really like the way that Rowena mixes with not only Vincenzo but also Antet and somewhat with Luka and there is a bit of mixed emotions and betrayals. The whole situation is so complex and I like how the author is able to draw everything out. I will definitely be reading more from this author and this series.

‘All I Want for Christmas’ is a short military romance with plenty of Christmas spirit. This is Kinsley and Brysen’s story, and Brysen is in the military and is away on a tour when he rings Kinsley to tell her the bad news that he won’t be home for Christmas as planned. A distraught Kinsley tries to plaster on a fake smile as her best friend Dina makes her attend a Christmas Eve party for the wives and girlfriends of the men away. No spoilers but Kinsley does have a nice festive surprise at the party which puts a real smile on her face. This story may be short but it’s full of emotion and drama. The author really made the characters come alive and I fell in love with Kinsley and Brysen and enjoyed reading the story from both their point of views. I also loved best friend Dina and would love to read her story. The storyline flowed well and the narrative was a nice mix of drama and lighthearted moments. I found this story to be an enjoyable and engaging festive romance with a “happy Christmas ending”.

The Bullet Theory by Sonya Jesus is a refreshing change to the standard thriller novel. Detective Eleanor Devero is grief stricken after the tragic murder of her unborn son by an unknown assailant. She is struggling to keep a grip on her relationship, has been suspended from her job and just wants to give up on life, but not until she has tracked down her sons killer. When she hears about The Bullet Man, she knows this is the way she will get closure. She is referred to work mandated therapy with Dr Nolan Mills, a psychologist with some interesting hobbies. I really enjoyed this book, I liked how straight away you were able to see both sides and it was an interesting moral debate on right and wrong. I enjoyed the pace of the book, it was fast enough to keep me interested but not too quick that it missed out important details and didn’t feel rushed. I would really like to read the next book in this series.

Unwrapped by Evelyn Sola, is a fun romance novel that really has you rooting for the main characters. Miranda is not looking for love and she certainly doesn’t expect to find it at her mum’s work Christmas party! She is a feisty, independent and determined young woman who knows what she wants and when she meets Nick Bain, she is taken aback at how he is nothing like her mum described. Nick is working at his uncles’ firm after a disastrous relationship has left him distrustful and bitter. He has an unfortunate clash with Miranda’s mum on his second day and it seals his reputation at work as being a horrid mean person. When he meets Miranda, he must fight to get the relationship he wants. This is an enjoyable book; I liked the two main characters and seriously disliked the mum! But it was good as it made me root for Miranda and Nick more. Would recommend to romance lovers.

This is a box set of the first three books in the Chase Securities Series. This is a series with the Chase brothers and other former military officers who make up Chase Securities. Each book features a story of romance, suspense and action. They each have a different story plot and bring something different to each couple it features. I enjoyed the character development in each book and the chemistry with each couple is of the charts. I have read all three of these books and enjoyed each one. The best thing about a box set is that you don’t have to wait for the next book to be published. I highly recommend this box set, you won’t regret picking it up.

Book 3 in the vampire state series. It took me by surprise this book it was unexpected. The authors skill to bring a fantasy world to life is second to none. Rowena is back in an action-packed book I’m taking up on the streets which are surrounded by war. Having to make the decision which side she’s on. Rowena is such a delightful character and strong woman. She is an amazing heroin and her bravery is second to none.

I enjoyed this book. This is a collection of ghost stories that are surrounded by Riverside Cemetery or Old Yard as some say. They are around the 1800’s when people were in search of the American dream. Each story is unique and interesting. They are entertaining and draw you in. They give you a different view of this time in history. This is a little different book that I normally read but I did really enjoy the ghost stories. I highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed this Christmas story. This is a sweet, heartwarming Christmas story that is written with a lot of heart and soul. This is my first book by this author and look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is a well developed story that took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. The characters brought the story to life as they go through these emotions. I had no problems connecting with them. They pulled in me right from the beginning. This is Kinsley and Brysen’s story. Kinsley has been waiting a long time for Brysen to come home. She thought she just needed to wait a little longer until she got a phone call that would change things. Brysen is a pilot that has flown in some dangerous situations but this last one may be the most dangerous of all. What will happen next with them is for you to find out. This is a shorter story that I read in one sitting but it is that enjoyable. This was a great Christmas story that reminds you of the spirit of Christmas. I highly recommend this book.

Love Heels is a really good private eye story by Lynne Russell. It is the third book in the PJ Santini Series. I had not read any work by this author before and I wish I had read the previous two books in this series as I felt a little lost at the beginning as if I needed more information. I have to admit that due to this it took me a bit to get into this book but once I did I really enjoyed it. PJ Santini is a tv investigative report who also works as a private eye. Once I got to know her I absolutely adored her as a character. She’s beautiful, confident and sassy and absolutely everything that I’m not. She’s just the type of woman that you want to be. One thing I adored is her family. The scenes that contained her family are my favourites in the book. There is so much humour in them that I laughed so much. One thing I love in a book is when the secondary characters add value to the story and are not just there to make up the numbers and this is certainly the case with this book. Add to all of this, the case that she’s working on really keeps the reader engaged and you are desperate to know how it all works out. I really enjoyed this book and would definitely read more of PJ Santini in the future.

Unwrapped by Evelyn Sola is a nice, fun, Christmas read if you’re looking to escape for an afternoon. Miranda escorts her mother to her works Christmas party and ends up catching the eye of her boss. There are a couple of issues here, the main one being that her mother cannot stand her boss. There is also an age difference to work through too. The obstacles they overcome just make this couple stronger. This book has everything you need. It’s funny, romantic and has great lead characters. It was a lighthearted read and a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

What a compelling story! I couldn’t stop reading until I figured out what was at the end of this book. I have read stories before about anorexia but being inside Wes’ head is eye opening. His thoughts about himself and the reasons just flabbergasted me. His relationship or non relationship with food and family surprised me. It was interesting watching the dynamics of the family and his friends change throughout the book. This is one I won’t be forgetting soon. It really makes me think.

Dead Lawyers Don’t lie by Mark Nolan is book one of the Jake Wolfe series. If you like suspense, this book is for you! This book really hooked me on the whole series because nothing is as you’d expect it to be. I couldn’t put it down.
This book is suspenseful with major plot twists I didn’t see coming. Jake wants to leave his flawed past behind him but even he can’t ignore what he needs to do this time. How far will Jake have to go to protect the people he cares about when he accidentally stumbles upon the identity of a murderer?

In the morning reality hits and Rick realises that the blonde fantasy is no other than his brothers new junior partner in his law firm. What will happen now his secret is out.
I loved this story, you see the vulnerable side of Rick and I just wanted to hug him when Dave dishes the hurtful hit my heart just went out to him. This is the first book I have read in this series and the first book by this author and I am downloaded the other two books to read to find out about the other brothers. Tis story was full of heartache and new starts and the chemistry was brilliant between the two main characters. The story is well written and can’t wait to read more.

Her mom only had one rule – do not find my new boss attractive. Well that was an epic fail.
Miranda is just broken up from a relationship which at first stung her but she got back up and dusted herself off. She lives in the basement of her parents and is bored every night at dinner with her mom going on about her new boss, the devil incarnate.
Nick has had enough of woman, after his last girlfriend screwed him over bigtime. So with him selling his company and relocating to help his Uncle run his business but when he runs into Mona his Uncles right hand woman he just seems to wind her up with everything he does.
So being forced to go to the company christmas party is not Nick’s idea of fun but when he walks in a sees a vision in front of him he can’t help but ant to get to know this beautiful woman, the only probably is it’s mona’s daughter. This will not end well.
I loved this story, the fact that Nick pursed what he wanted and that Miranda was just the breath of fresh air he needed was great to read. The characters was well written and the chemistry between them was a great read. It was a real page turner and I loved the carefree attitude of Miranda and with her finding love in adversity.

Dead Lawyers Don’t Lie: A Gripping Thriller (Jake Wolfe Book 1) by Mark Nolan
4 Stars
I am reading this series totally out of order and was really excited to finally come back to book 1 and see where this all began. I know that I had become completely invested in this series in later books so had no fear about reading this one.
This one was a bit long. I love when I can sit down and read a book in one sitting, possibly two, this one took me a bit longer. There were so many moving parts and little additions to the storyline that popped up all the way through, I had to reread a few things and stop and try to figure things out along the way. There was A LOT of extra descriptions and information that I would skip over as I didnt need these for the story.
In saying all of that, this is one of my favorite genres, and this book had everything I would expect from a book in this genre and then some. The evil was really evil, the suspense was edge of my seat, the secondary characters were amazing and then add in Cody and it was a done deal, I was hooked.
This book I do feel was needed in my reading of this series. I so far have loved the later books, and seeing how this series and the writing of this series has progressed is really great.

Secure Boxed Set: Chase Security Series Books 1-3 by R.L. Dunn is a contemporary suspense boxed set that hold three amazing stories. These stories will have you biting nails and on the edge of your seat. Not to be missed.
Secure Desire is a great story that is fast paced and there is a lot happening, but it is enthralling and interesting and it certainly had me engrossed and invested. The suspense and mystery, lies and deceit are bad enough but the life of one woman had literally torn her apart. But the men who literally hold her life in their hands never want to see her go through anything like this again. There is intrigue and horror, alpha hot men and strong women, love and anger there are the monsters who think they are above everybody who will sicken you as you journey along with the wonderful characters that will melt your heart. I spent a lot of time with my heart in my throat and my jaw clenching whilst reading this book but there were times when my heart leapt with joy.
Cassie’s life was just coming together when a new assignment changed all that but what she doesn’t know is that the monsters from this assignment where the ones who changed her life six years ago. Now they have found her again her life will never be the same again. But one person who has just found her will do everything in his power to protect her.
Secure Again is another winner. It is a thrilling and enticing read that is nonstop action from the start to finish. There are so many players it is a wonder that R.L. was able to keep up with them all as it was a little daunting myself but she did a masterful job of weaving it all together to come out with a story that will have your heart pounding and your emotions on high alert. I really enjoy the Chase Group stories and love their characters. This one was a bit of a hard pill to swallow at the thought of what the evil men and women in this story were doing and I could not wait for their just deserts to be served with a side of whipped cream. It is choc-a-block full of action and danger, secrets and lies, heartache and love.
Dr. Elizabeth Reed is one strong and sassy, independent and beautiful woman but she is heartbroken. She has long suspected that things have not been right with the injuries she sees on some of her patients. When she asks questions, she doesn’t realise she is now putting herself in life threatening danger. However, when doing everything she can to save a life, she comes face to face with the one person who shattered her heart.
Martin Bailey is the CEO of Chase Security International, but all that is left behind when he has a family emergency. Whilst waiting for answers he finds himself face to face with the one person who tore his heart out and stomped on it. What he finds when he gets to the hospital will require the whole of Chase Security and then some to bring the monsters to justice.
Secure Heart – R.L. Dunn does not fail to deliver and this third book is just as enthralling as the previous two. It is nonstop thrills and action and this enticing fast paced story sees lots happening. R.L. keeps us entertained with lots of players and masters the art of giving us something that will have you on the edge of your seat and your heart pounding, the tension rising and your emotions on high. I can’t say enough about my love of the Chase Group stories and the characters. It is full of action and danger, secrets and lies, heartache and love, suspense and mystery, lies and deceit, alpha hot men and strong women. As you journey along with the wonderful characters your heart will be pumping, jaw clenching and times your heart will melt.
Holly Dupree Morrison is used to abuse but the thought of losing her daughter Sadie is unthinkable. When a stalker has his sights on Holly, she is forced to get help from Chase Security. How are the threats to Holly and Chase Security related?
Julian Dupart is the new head of the Chase Group and is trying to get his life back on track. So, when a sassy 4-year-old comes into his life she steals his heart, but he can’t face losing Sadie to the same fate that his wife died from. Whilst dealing with all this it seems that Julian and Chase Security are now in the sights of someone out to get them.

Starvation by Molly Fennig is a raw YA story where the main character, a male has an eating disorder and mental illness. It is a pretty heavy handed topic and tale that many will find confronting. The story is told in dual timelines, the before and the after, the past and the present which shows why Wes became how he is. I found the writing style very descriptive. It is a powerful and very emotional read and certainly sends a message.
Hunted by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk is a paranormal vampire story but not the normal trope. This duo gives us something that is unique and original, exciting and with a fresh twist on the fang gang genre. It is fast paced but as I have come to expect from Sarah and Molly there is definitely nothing lacking in the story. The tale is well plotted and the characters are endearing. There is an air of tension, mystery and thrills as your mind bends to the fantasy world that Sarah and Molly have designed. I certainly can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed this story. It was full of love and romance. The writer did such a good job writing the characters that you couldn’t help but fall in love with them.
Miranda had settled into her life living with her parents and being single since she split with her ex and she was happy with that.
That is until a chance meeting at her mother’s work Christmas party changed her life.
Nicky has stepped in to cover for his uncle at the place of business that Mona (Miranda’s mother) works. He gets off to a rocky start with his new employees and most of them don’t like him. So imagine his surprise when a woman at the Christmas party takes his eye and heart and that woman is the daughter of his employee who hates him.
Together they have obstacles to overcome. The age gap, people reactions and more importantly Miranda’s mothers reaction. Together they face all these things head on.
Is their love strong enough to overcome all these obstacles or will Miranda’s mother get her way and split them up?
