I will always pick up a rock star romance read – it’s one of my favourite genres to read about so when I saw this book and a new to me author I couldn’t wait to get started and I wasn’t disappointed at all! Strings Attached was a brilliant read – I absolutely adored Ashton!! He was completely swoon worthy and most certainly book boyfriend material (it’s been ages since one was worthy of my list!!) I loved Calla and Ash together, the way they navigated their friendship to maybe more. They both had a future that meant they were going in different direction but they had this connection that was so sweet and genuine – I was rooting for them the whole way through! I would highly recommend this wonderful 5 star read and I look forward to reading more from this author again in the future!

Guardians of the Garden by Theresa Pocock is a YA fantasy story. It is an interesting and original premise that started out a little slow but soon made up for it. The fast moving plot has multiple layers woven in to it with religious overtones, myth and folklore. Theresa has beautifully written and cleverly crafted a story where the world building and its characters have depth and are complex in their telling.
With magic and guardians, immortality and mystery it has something for everyone to enjoy. You won’t be disappointed and you won’t want to put it down.

I love a forbidden romance story so when I read the synopsis for this book I was really looking forward to reading it and overall I really enjoyed it, I guess it was a little predictable in parts and it was a short read but nevertheless I still liked it. Professor Valentine definitely had the sexy teacher vibe going on so I can see why Cassie fell for him!! I am really looking forward to seeing where the author takes this series!

This book gets intense fast to say the least. Cassie is a 18 year old that has a crush on her hot hunky teacher, and doesn’t know how to go about getting him. I was diagnosed with clinical depression after the loss of my mother, father and husband within three years of each other; all to cancer. 24/7 in-home care, coupled with the loss I felt, left its mark on my psyche.
Depression takes up a lot of my life. Reading and writing are the only things I have found that help (in connection with regular medication), even if only for a short time. To escape to a different world can make a big difference in my mood in real time.
To put things in perspective, when I was at my lowest point, I couldn’t open mail, talk on the phone, or even drive to the store. Walls of sadness surrounded me. As they closed in, tears would fall. There didn’t need to be a reason or trigger.
People ask me why I started writing. My answer is simple: I wanted to create a world into which other people with similar problems could escape. I wanted to share the one place that had helped me for many years.
I have always said that as long as one person finds a little bit of happiness out of my books, I am, in my opinion, an accomplished author. The same is true for every writer out there. Please don’t ever let anyone tell you different.
I read books as well as write them and have visited the worlds many different authors have created. Those worlds not only make me feel better, but give me the strength to face real life again. I want to thank everyone who writes—I want them to know they are making a difference.

Let’s first talk about this cover! I absolutely love it! It gives me Safe Haven and The Longest Ride vibes. The sunset is beautiful and it makes me want to know these silhouetted people standing in front of it. I also really love that there’s a cowboy on the chapter heads. Even though this story was short I loved it, straight to the point and leaves you wanting more. I would love to eventually see an extension on the story but this one was able to make you like the characters and be engaged in their lives from the first chapter. It was beautifully written and I can’t wait to read more by this author. Jessie is a spoiled brat that wants attention, meanwhile Tuck is a true cowboy and just wants to do his job and ride bulls. But something is coming that changes everything. Strap in for the ride!

Seconds is a short story filled with drama, passion, secrets and second chances. This is the first book I have read by this author, but I look forward to reading many more. This book is also in a series with books written by different authors call Internet Famous. Seconds is a whirlwind fast paced book full of action and emotional twists. The characters are well written and relatable. I truly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a short read to fall into. Review by@sunbarn
The Tears of Boabdil by Neil MacDonald was an… interesting read, to say the least. The synopsis sounded so interesting just from reading it, that I decided to give this book a shot. I thought it was extremely well written with a lot of depth, but the biggest problem for me was that it felt like there were several different things going on at one time, it was hard to determine which story the book was about, and which one was reality and which was fiction. Again, the writing for this impressive, and if it wasn’t for the different realities and what I felt was stream of consciousness writing, I would have fallen in love with this story. Maybe it was just an off day for me, but this story just didn’t live up to the expectations I had for it. I enjoyed it, but not immensely. I would read more from this author in the future though!

Price of a Rose: A Beauty & Beast Tale (Historical Fantasy Fairytale Retellings Book 2) by Byrd Nash. So this was a great story and I was very excited to read it as beauty and the beast is by far my favorite story. This was definitely a unique telling of my favorite story and I really enjoyed it. The characters are complex and bring the storyline to life. It’s different and I found myself completely lost in the pages. The author does a wonderful job of capturing a timeless tale and breathing a new life into it. I liked this one just as much as the first and I can’t wait to see where the author takes readers next. Five big stars all the way and highly recommended!

The World Beyond the Walls: epic dystopian eco-fantasy (Natural Forces Book 3) by Jean Gill. Once again I found myself surprised at how easy I found myself lost inside this book, not for anything bad but it’s just not my usual reading. But this author definitely knows how to pull people in and takes them on an adventure they won’t forget. Even the smallest details are complex and you can tell a lot of time and heart goes into these books. The characters immediately pulled me in and I love the journey we got to go on with them. I do recommend reading these in order. Trust me if you’re on the fence about this series just take the leap it’s completely worth it. Four big stars and highly recommended.

The Sun at Twilight (Empire at Twilight Book 4) By N.L. Holmes. This author is quickly becoming one of my top faves. Definitely one of the authors that has me enjoying reads outside my comfort zone. And this one was just as great as past reads. I recommend this entire series but this one may have been my favorite. It just captured me in a different way than the rest but they are really great also. The author takes readers on an adventure you can’t forget. The characters are complex and drew me in with no problem. The storyline is well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed. I’m already excited to see where the author takes readers next. Four stars and highly recommended!

Witness: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 9) by Meghan O’Flynn. This author never fails to blow me away every single time I pick up one of her books. This one was definitely the same as the rest in that regard but in a different way it was also next level and probably my favorite so far. This author knows how to keep me on my toes and I enjoy it every time. There’s nothing slow about this story it’s got a fast pace but not one you’d get lost in. There’s definitely twists and turns I didn’t see coming and I loved every minute of it. I was hooked right from the beginning and couldn’t put it down. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

These two were best friends in high school, but Gage’s feelings ran deeper. Erica starts having issues in the paranormal world and seeks the help of Gage. But she did not realize what a hottie he turned out to be.

Braxton is one of those guys that doesn’t let his emotions into his sex life. Phoenix is beautiful and he falls almost instantly. You can feel the wonder he feels as he realizes how deeply he feels for her. She is his love but also his destruction. I was swept up in the deep emotions of this novel. Definately a worthy read!

This is a children’s book (for ages 8-10) and is 194 pages. This story follows Annie and her mother as they investigate why a plane crashed in 1943. Annie’s great grandmother, Charlotte, tested planes and flew them to the bases. Her fiancé flew the planes in the war. When a plane crashed, a note was discovered and is traced to the surviving family members. Something does not seem right. Annie and her mother decide to go digging in the attic for answers. They find love letters written to Charlotte’s fiancé and there appears to be a code within these letters. My son loved reading this adventure story.

The story was fast paced, which I love. I loved that this story was about second chance love, gives everyone hope the way that Johns delivers the story! I consumed this story in one sitting, I had to know what happened. Braxton Knight is someone you are hoping gets a second chance all throughout his story. It is full of heartbreak, love, loss, surprises, and hope. Cam Johns knows how to grip you and keep you hoping.

This book is adorable and smutty all in one. Phoebe does an amazing job of telling a romance story in which you are captivated from the beginning with the smoldering hot accountant turned comedian and the blonde, beauty, bank teller from a small town.
They both have their own struggles and triumphs in a few short pages, it is definitely a short but sweet rainy night in ‘feel good’ read.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and now she has a new fan. I love a good second chance but this author exceeded all my expectations. This is the sixth book of the Internet Famous series. I read this book as a stand-alone but I met other characters that I want to know more about. I was so hooked to this story I read this book all the way through the first night I got it. I’m so excited to read more of this series.

Braxton runs into a woman from his past and they start to feel things he never thought he would feel again but she has secrets of her own. Will Braxton ever find love again or will he just give up?
A Tennis Pro To Die For is the third book in Judy Moore’s Cozy Mysteries To Die For series. With a coastal Florida setting and a book loving accidental heroine, this series is proving a great comfort read! In this book, Beck is caught up in the mystery when a tennis pro from the club where she has been (reluctantly) having lessons is found dead. A fan of mystery novels, Beck has already found herself caught up in multiple cases before and seems to have a knack for solving them. The supporting characters in this series are well established by now! I particularly like Scratchoff, the unlikely millionaire who is committed to supporting those in need. There are also some great canine characters, particularly Coquina. This book could be read as a standalone if you’re particularly looking for a tennis-themed murder mystery. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend starting at A Book Signing To Die For and working your way through, getting to know the characters along the way! For me, this is another five-star read. I can’t wait to read more of the series!

Neil MacDonald is a new author to me but when I saw the cover and blurbs I knew I needed to read The Tears of Boabdil soon! I scooped it up and devoured this in less than two days. I won’t be telling you details and snippets in this book while reviewing because this is a story that can easily be spoiled and I can assure you that is not something you will want when you pick up this crime thriller. I was blown away at how deep this book went with hidden agendas and underlying life lessons while you watch the characters attempt to find their way in a messed up world, one similar to the one we navigate daily. I will for sure be looking for more of MacDonald’s books and devouring them as soon as possible. I can’t say enough good about this book so please just one-click and dive in, you will not be disappointed.

C.L. Schneider has not disappointed me with this installment of the Nite Fire series. Her descriptive writing style keeps me turning the pages. There were a few twists and turns and keeping me on the edge of my seat. The character development is complex and fully developed. Dahlia is back, who just happens to be my favorite character. She is an action character that keeps me on my toes. There is a charge afoot. Will it be a good change or a bad change? I highly recommend this story because it will be eye opening to say the least.

4 stars! Nice short read. This story was nice, I was excited to see Cassie, a student and Diego, a professor starting a flirtation. Cassie started getting on my nerves unfortunately, basically begging Diego to make it work, but then again Diego wasn’t much better lying to Cassie. The lie was sweet though, he was only trying to protect her. The ending came up fast and I was pleased with how everything turned out for them both. The only downside, everything seemed to move a little too fast for me, but still a worthy read.

Another gripping 5 star read from this talented author! She never fails to have me on the edge of my seat with her Ash Park series and Witness (the ninth book) was no exception. The storyline for this book was complex and engaging, I definitely found myself wanting to keep those pages turning to find out what was going to happen. I have loved following Petrosky as he tries to solve crimes but this one had me glued from the very beginning and I think is certainly one of my favourites from the series. I am really looking forward to more from this author and I highly recommend this series – the books can be read on their own but I would recommend that they are read in order!

Witness by Meghan O’Flynn is the ninth book in the Ash Park series, I am always so excited to get back to this series as each one always delivers a fantastic story they completely captures my attention. This book is yet another brilliant addition to such a strong series. I love getting back into the lives of the main characters and seeing what else is going to happen. This book is every bit as action packed and intriguing as the rest in the series. I was pulled out n right from the start and had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen. This is the kind of book that you have to read all in one go. This is one of those series that I just never get bored of and I am already excited as to what might come next.

If you have not read any of the Ash Park Series, I recommend reading the previous books to get the full enjoyment from this series. Meghan O’Flynn is one of my go to authors when I am looking for a great thriller to read. She pulls me into the story from the first page until the last word. The plot-line has a fast pace to it, but I caution you to be aware of everything going on so you do not miss something. I have to admit that I do go back and reread a page because I thought I had missed something. Her attention to detail is another reason I love reading her books. Now we can talk about characters. Detective Petrosky has stolen my heart. He is a wonderful book boyfriend. I always feel like I am with him and I do scream at him from time to time. He took this call because it was going to be a simple burglary. Nothing Petrosky ever does is simple. This case is shaping up to be quite a doozy. I highly recommend this book to see if Petrosky will make it through this case.

Hacker by Nadine Travers is the second book in the Mercenaries Series. This book is an absolutely fantastic follow up to the first book. It is full of suspense and intrigue with some brilliant characters. Marie and Hacker have such a strong connection. Even after just a single night together you can feel the chemistry between them. But with everything between then they are in for an interesting journey. The book was fast paced from start to finish. You are pulled right into the story and the author really just doesn’t let go. It is a well written book and really is a great addition to the series. I am excited to see what is to come next.
Witness is book nine in the Ash Park Series. I have not read the others in the series yet and had no problem following the story and the characters. This book is an action packed story by Meghan O’Flynn. It centers on Detective Edward Petrosky. Petrosky is a gruff angry detective struggling with alcoholism. His partner, Regina Jackson, takes no nonsense from him even while they are investigating an insidious group of people. This book does not go into great detail about the abuse several women suffered, however, it was still difficult to read about what they went through. Every corner turned was more shocking with twists and details revealed making this book hard to put down.

The Liminal Space by T.S. Simons is the second book in the Antipodes Series. I would recommend reading the first book before reading the second one. Some books are what I call fluff reads. This one is definitely not a fluff read. It is thought provoking, touching on several worldly problems within an apocalyptic world. The main character in this story is Cam, Campbell Mackintosh. He is easy to identify with and to understand his emotions and dilemmas. Ultimately this book is a story about love and overcoming, told within the life of Cam.

Jordan’s Shadow is my first book by this author, this story is one of a kind, for some it may be hard to read, for me it is enthralling, captivating, emotional. Needless to say I loved it! I love how different it is and how unexpected the ending was. The commitment and patience of Hunter and Monte throughout the book is what kept me going. The one thing I love about reading is the way stories can take you to another world. It isn’t very often that you find people in the real world like them. I highly recommend this book!
