This is the 2nd book in the series. Ms. Adams is fun and witty. I recommend this for those 18 +. Chloe past is catching up with her. Really well written and a good read.

Two Hearts, One Stone by Leslie Scott. I loved this book. Its the story of Stoney Dempsey a hot horse trainer who is known for his love em and leave em ways. He owns Smokey Mountain Reining Horses. One day his sister who is messed up on drugs leaves her baby on his doorstep he is lost and his life is turned upside down. Emmersyn Cole is a Doctor who has always wanted to start a practice in her hometown so when she gets the opportunity she jumps on it. Whenever Stoney’s niece gets sick he runs to Emmy for help and falls in love instantly or at least lust. Emmy is not in the least bit interested in Stoney because of his man whore ways but she will help his niece. The fact that Stoney works for Emmy’s grandfather is a problem because if he hurts Emmy he could lose his job but he has feelings for her he’s never had before. Read Two Hearts, One Stone to find out if Stoney settles down!

This book, by far, is one that has made me cry the most. Daisy dealt with so much in her young life. It was just heart breaking the things she endured. She felt she couldn’t go to her family in fear of basically be judged as crazy. She had a circle of friends who, along with her, were being bullied. They had each others backs. It breaks my heart the things that kids who are bullied endured. I felt as if, even though she was mad at first, she felt relieved when her brother found out the secrets she was keeping. It was then she found out her family would support her no matter what. When a friend commits suicide Daisy takes hard. With the help of her immediate and extended family she is able to get the help she needs. I was happy to see that Daisy was able to have a happy ending.
To Be A Fae Queen by Tricia Copeland is the first book in the Realm Chronicles series. This is a YA fantasy book that has such a heartwarming and engaging character right at its centre. Although you are reading about a young girl I found that it was really easy to picture what she was going through. She has such a difficult and tumultuous journey and yet she faces it all with such a strength. I thought the book was really well written. The author has created an interesting fantastic world that really does pull you in from the start. As the first book in the series I thought it was a strong start and I am looking forward to what comes next.

Twisted Throttle by Manda Mellett is the third book in the Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation series. This book is as exciting and fast paced as the other books in the series and is easily just as good. The more this whole series expands the more I become immersed in it. I always think I have found my favourite book until I read the next one the author brings out. She has such a way of creating strong and interesting characters that really pull you in. This book is no exception. I instantly fell in love with them and couldn’t put the book down until I had read their story. It is full of twists and turn and I couldn’t put the book down at all. I cannot recommend this series enough and would urge everyone to read them today.

I’m absolutely emotionally drained after reading this!! D.M. Earl is an author I’ve come to really respect and I also expect really hard hitting topics in her books, Daisy’s Darkness is a perfect example of this. Throughout this book I kept trying to remember if bullying was such a huge issue when I was growing up. I just think it wasn’t really talked about. Maybe because of books like this there is more awareness about these problems and hopefully some positive reactions will come out of extremely sad books like this. But even though it was a really gut wrenching experience it was worth every single word.
City of Whispers (Imperial Assassin Series Book 1) by Katt Powers. This is such a fun, action packed book. It will keep you turning the pages well into the night. This is the 1st book of the series and if it is any indication of the books to come I can’t wait. This one is very multi layered and some of the names I had trouble with pronouncing. You have to really pay attention to keep up so keep that in mind. Its about a character named Dhani who has been accused of murder she didn’t commit. On top of being wrongly accused in trying to clear her name she starts to get death threats from very dangerous people. Dhani is such a kick butt kinda girl but without her magic she is just like everyone else. Will Dhani get her name cleared and get out of the place her magic is no good before its too late? Read City of Whispers to find out!

Two Hearts, One Stone (Boots and Babies) by Leslie Scott
This is the first book I’ve read by Scott, but if she writes like this for all her books then it won’t be my last. Two Hearts, One Stone is a fantastic read. I hope there is more to Stone and Emmy.
Stone Dempsey is the best horse trainer in town. He originally came to town to take care of his sister, but she left him there. She shows up a year later with a sick baby. He rushes to his boss’s house for the Doctor. The quote I chose for Stone is: “There hasn’t been a woman in my bed since the day I met you Emmersyn Cole, and that ain’t because of Maddie. You got under my skin like an itch I can’t scratch. I don’t know how, but I’m going to prove it to you.”
Emmersyn aka Emmy is back in town opening a pediatric clinic. She didn’t think she would find herself falling for the trainer that gets into everyone’s pants. When she sees Stone taking care of his niece she finds herself falling hard. The quote I chose for Emmy is: “No. I’m not. I just don’t want Pop getting his hopes up.”

Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3) by Via Mari. I absolutely love Via Mari so I’m excited anytime I get to read a new book by her, this book was no different. Its the story of Damian who has been hired as a bodyguard by Jenny Torzial and Brian Carrington to find their niece Bryanna. Bryanna has been working as a stripper at a seedy club for some very dangerous people. Bryanna is working to save her family. Damian tries to save Bryanna after she is drugged but she doesn’t trust him and she escapes. Damian has chemistry with Bryanna and is very interested in her not just for his clients but for himself. Bryanna is going to be auctioned off by her boss and if she refuses to comply they will kill her family. Damian is going to have to get backup to try to save her and once he saves her will she be really safe with Damian?

What another great book in this series! These get better and better with each book and each one ends up being my favorite for one reason or another. You know the true talent of an author when you can see, feel and hear everything happening as you’re reading. I love all these characters and always enjoy when we get a new one to devour.

Auctioned is the third book in the Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. I love when I see that Via Mari has released a new book because I know I am guaranteed a really great read. This is a fantastic romantic suspense that’s full of danger, sex trafficking, secrets, hidden agendas, action, mystery, a whole lot of sizzle, intrigue, and so much more. This book could be read as a standalone, as each book in the series focuses on a different couple. But I recommend reading the previous two books before starting on this one, because they are really great stories in their own rights- as well as having recurring characters who you will want to know more about. Via Mari is known for her superb romantic suspense stories and this book showcases her talents beautifully. She easily builds gripping suspense, intrigue, palpable tension, and sizzling chemistry- while balancing it all with lighter moments and believable emotion. Damian has been hired to find the missing niece of Jenny Torzial, whom we first met in the ‘Prestian’ series as secondary character, and then in her own series ‘The Torzial Affair’. Bryanna has found herself in quite the predicament, caught up in a sex trafficking ring. Damian will stop at nothing to find her and return her safely. But Damian soon discovers that it’s not going to be a routine rescue assignment- and he might lose more than his heart in the process. Another unputdownable read from this talented author!

Auctioned is the 3rd book in the Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. This is a spin off from her other series’ where we get the stories of the bodyguards who work for the billionaires who starred in previous series by the author. I’m a huge fan of her work having read all but the Prestian affair series of her work. Something I plan to remedy in the future. I’m always excited to get a new book from Via Mari to read, but to get one with the gorgeous Kamil Nizinksi on the cover is a definite added bonus. I was able to picture him as Damian as I read this book. When Damian is assigned to find missing virgin Bryanna who has been caught up in a human trafficking ring his life is about to change. I loved Damian and Bryanna’s story. As with all Via Mari’s books, it is hot and steamy and a fantastic read. These two characters are perfect for one another. Damian is a Dominant, whereas Bryanna is submissive and she wants to be dominated by Damian. This isn’t just the romance story between Damian and Bryanna, there is so much more going on in this book that will keep you hooked to this book and not want to put it down. Via Mari sure knows how to write a fantastic storyline that will have you entertained from the very first page right up to the last. A must read!

Wow. I thought I knew what I was getting ready to read when I picked this book up. But I wasn’t prepared for the pure emotion that filled every page. You name it – I felt it. I felt it for Daisy. I felt it as Daisy. Beautifully written, the author works through some really remarkable emotion toil and social issues and treats them with levity. Nothing was glossed over. Everything felt authentic. Just an incredibly well written book.
From the stunning cover to the fantastic story within the pages, I was immediately swept into this fantasy and transported into another world. Equal parts fantasy and adventure, I really loved the journey that unfolded in every page. One of self discovery and struggle. Every emotion felt real and the action felt tangible. I really enjoyed this book and am thankful to see it is part of a series. Can’t wait to read more.

Thank you Via Mari for continuing to write such great stories! Damian and Bryanna and sexy, sweet, determined, and delicious!
This story continues from books 1 and 2 and it is helpful to read in order. I liked how these characters are the main focus with a little help from their friends. Bryanna is tough and protective and soon learns that Damien is the same way, maybe even more so.
Mari’s writings continue to be an escape from the real world although human trafficking is becoming all too familiar in the real world, this story has a happier ending than real life, making it a great read.
Highly recommend this story and the rest of the Billionaire Bodyguards.

Two Hearts, One Stone by Leslie Scott is a sweet romance that I absolutely loved reading. I was drawn in from the beginning and couldn’t put it down till the end. This is a story about Stone and Emmersyn. Stone Dempsey is a sexy cowboy ,Horse Trainer that is a bit of player. Dr. Emmersyn Cole is the new pediatrician in town and also happens to be Stone’s boss’s granddaughter. Emmersyn doesn’t have time for playboy Stone especially since she had a front row view of his last lady friend. What will happen when a sick baby turns up on Stones door step? Can Emmersyn help him and the baby? I highly recommend reading this fast paced sweet romance to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Twisted Throttle is book three in the Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation series by Manda Mellett. This is an action packed story about the kids of the original Satan’s Devils bikers and their dramatic lives. The MC genre has always drawn me. I love reading how others live, their traditions, their rules, their hierarchy etc. Sometimes these laws infuriate me, nut the sense of loyalty and family is enviable and gives a reader never ending thrills, wows and no ways!!! The leading man sees his life going one way, and he is totally blindsided when it unfolds a different way.
Manda Mellett details larger than life characters, the continuation of her exciting biker life, and everything a reader comes to expect from this author. Twisted Throttle is a dangerous, intense exciting, enthralling, impressive, stimulating and salacious. A cast of many personalities who blend to make a spellbinding family. 4 stars.

This was a lovely funny chick-lit book. The characters were well written and really relatable. The relationship between the friends is on that I recognise as it sounds like me and my friends which makes the story even more fun and relatable.
All Marlowe wants is a quiet life. Safe in her world where the only romance she has it through the books she writes. With good friends and her pets she wants nothing else in life.
Heath is a model who had decided to leave the spotlight and work in the family business. He feels its time to slow down and settle down. And the women of his choosing is Marlowe.
Can he show her what romance is like when it’s not written on a page? Can Marlowe let her guard down enough to give Heath a chance?

This story is short but packed full of drama for you crime lovers out there! Full of drama and both sides of the law with a dash of family drama is not how Braelynn expected to celebrate her new promotion to law partner. Seth, the good son to a Mafia family didn’t plan to introduce his girlfriend to the family this way but when there’s a body on the floor needs must. This book was a great way to start. I can’t wait for the second book to come out.

Dark. It’s all dark. Darker than you could ever possibly imagine. Not even a candle can flicker an incandescent light in front of me. Even now, years after I escaped, I’m still living in darkness. I’m still running.
I’ve spent my entire life gazing at the stars, wondering if I’ll ever get to live in the light. It must be dazzling and wonderful.
You’ve read about tortured souls, but you’ve never read about mine. I was taken before I was even born. It was my destiny and written in my stars.
My soul’s not just tortured, it’s unrepairable and hollow. I left part of it back in Hell, and I can’t go back. I won’t go back. Not ever.
You think you’ve read it all?
You haven’t.
And sadly … it’s all true. It happened to me. And I hate that it’s my life.
I shouldn’t be alive. Life was never my own. Nothing was given to me and everything was taken from me. I ran. I fought. I stayed alive. Well, my body survived, my mind didn’t.
I’m damaged beyond repair. I live on my nerves. I feel emotions bigger than myself, and I am many things.
Vulnerable
Anxious.
.
Paranoid.
Guarded.
.
Ashamed.
Dirty.
Exposed.
And I feel alone.
I pray that one day I will be free. But that means placing trust and letting someone in.
Would they make me brighter? Would they make me believe? Would I make them dark?
I’ve never wanted to feel for someone else because I’m far too broken and deep. It scares me. I don’t trust easily. I’m curious, but I’m nervous.
I’ve never felt lust, or love, or light.
Until now.
I feel Lucca Caruso, and everything he symbolises.
He desires me. He wants me. He worships me. He loves me. He protects me. He makes me feel alive. He sets my body on fire. He melts my heart. He gives me him. All of him.
He is lust.
He is love.
He is light.
I trust him.
I want him.
I need him.
He is everything I have fought my entire life to avoid. He makes me feel.
He is taking me places I never imagined could be possible. He is giving me new life. He is keeping me in his light. He is giving me his heart, body, mind, and soul. I love it … I love him. And there is no other place I want to be other than in his arms.
With Lucca … I feel like I can breathe. I’m alive. I need him to keep me here.
I’m Lexi and this is my story about a world of darkness and a journey towards the light.

Love Between the Lines: A Contemporary Romance Sprinkled With Chick-Lit and Rom-Com is the first book in The Page Turners series by A.D. Brazeau. This is the first book I have read by this author, but definitely won’t be the last. This is a story of Marlowe, a romance writer, and Heath, a book cover model. This book dealt with some heavy issues including anxiety. This book had my emotions rolling from beginning to end. I have to say it it made me laugh out loud but also had me reaching for tissues. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed this cowboy romance. It has all the elements of a good romance, the womanizer cowboy and the smart woman trying to resist his charms. The characters are really well written that you can’t help feel invested in their story. Even though the book is a short read it contains a full story which is nice as some short reads feel like they are missing parts.
Stone is a horse trainer. He’s the best in the business at what he does and he has a reputation as a ladies man. However all that changes when 2 woman walk into his life and blow it apart.
The first is his baby niece. When she is left by her mother Stone has to change his ways from the playboy cowboy to become the little girls father. Stone has no idea what to do so he goes to the only person he can think of Emmy.
Emmy had moved to live with her Pop and open up her pediatric clinic. The last thing she wants is to get involved with the cowboy. However when Stone turns up on her door step with a sick child she finds herself drawn to him.
Can you really fight what’s meant to be? Will Stone go back to his old ways and hurt Emmy? Will they work as a ready made family?

Forged By Secrets is the third book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series by Amy McKinley. All three of these books could be read as standalones, but I would recommend that you read them in order. They are about three brothers, each with their own story. This book features Tyler and Malina. This book is my favorite of the three. It flowed from beginning to end. It was full of secrets, danger and scorching chemistry. Just a perfect weekend read.

This is the third book in the Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. I have enjoyed her writing more and more with every book. This author knows how to pull me in from the first page until the last page. Her characters are fully developed and relatable. Auctioned is Damian and Bryanna’s story. There is a lot of action with some suspense added in for good measure. Damian’s client brought Bryanna’s case to his attention. She is inside a human trafficking ring, He is determined to get her out of that hell. Will Damien be able to save her from that lifestyle? Will Bryanna be able to trust him? I highly recommend this book. It is a page-turner for sure.

Braelynn defends the Giordano family as their defence attorney. After defending Seth they fall for each other despite all the reasons they shouldn’t be together. Braelynn makes a terrible error one night that could ruin her life. This story shows what can happen when desperation leads to murder and what lengths love will go to to save the day. This is an incredible story I highly recommend.

I don’t often read romances, but this romance was intriguing: how could I not like a story about a romance writer who hasn’t experienced any romance in the two years after a bad break-up? And this book has one of the greatest opening lines EVER: “Under the Sheets was always a good time.” Well, we’re off with a bang! Or — maybe Marlowe wasn’t referring to what I thought she was referring to… Marlowe Bennet is a romance writer w/ a serious lack of romance in her life. She is a successful romance novelist who has two great friends in her sister Lucy and best friend Iris, a fellow romance writer. Marlowe is content w/ her friends, her two cats, and just wants to live in her sweats, write her books, and hide from her anxiety disorder. But then she runs into the hunky Heath Rochester, a cover model for romance novels (like Fabio?) w/ whom she’d shared a few steamy kisses a year before. It turns out Heath has a surprising career outside of modeling that perfectly compliments Marlowe’s own career. Undeniable sexual chemistry and fate ensue. Again, this isn’t a typical romance as it doesn’t follow the usual trope of girl-meets-boy, snogs boy, then contrived misunderstandings force them apart. I like that we get a view of strong female friendships, and some sparkling repartee between the characters. For all these reasons, I give the book a solid four stars.

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May is a rom com and flowed well from start to end. Brooke brings her loveable, quirky, and realistic characters to life. They are believable and you become invested in them. This story has a little bit of everything in it, from drama and fun, sarcasm and drunken nights, to holly hotness and lazy boyfriends, to frustration and love and of devil besties. Brooke is really good at writing rom com and always makes me laugh out loud and getting funny looks on the bus.
Willow Everett is definitely a hot mess. She is also sassy and bold, funny, and feisty and after one drunken night her life is about to change.
I enjoy Brooke’s writing and haven’t read anything I have not liked from her. I mean who doesn’t like a blind racoon as a pet?
