THE ISTANBUL HEIST: Code Raven 8THE ISTANBUL HEIST: Code Raven 8 by Lynda Filler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was not my normal pick of a book, but I have to say that I really enjoyed it!

As I was reading, I realized that I must have picked up a book in the middle of a series because a lot of the characters had history that kept being referenced. However, the author did a great job of filling in the gaps so that I didn’t necessarily feel like I NEEDED to go back and start at the beginning of the series! All the characters felt very real and I wanted to be their friend!

I feel like I also learned a lot about Turkey, too! Now I want to visit Istanbul!

City of Whispers (Imperial Assassin, #1)City of Whispers by Katt Powers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Imperial Assassin’s series. This is a Fantasy Adventure novel and is 309 pages. This story follows Dhani, an assassin. She wrongfully gets expelled from Imperial Assassins and has now taken a new position in the desert with a partner she does not want. She not only has no magic here, but she also gets a death threat and her partner comes up missing. She finds out that it is a cult that is involved and if she does not do something quick, a lot of people will die. This was a good read and I thoroughly enjoyed Dhani’s sassiness. This is definitely a unique story and keeps you glued to your seat.

This is a great read!!! I was very pleasantly surprised….this is a easy read. If you are looking for adventure, mayhem, mystery with Pirates this book is for you!! I cannot wait until the next book comes out to continue the adventure. One of my favorite parts is when Bulk calls Evie “Glasses”. The characters in the book were neat, reminding me of Pirates of the Caribbean with a twist :). I highly recommend this book, it was a great read :).

Lynda is a new to me author and I must say did not disappoint thats for sure!!
I wasn’t sure if it being the 8th book and having not read any previously if I would be a little lost but that wasn’t the case at all. It held its own as a stand alone book for sure.
There was so much detail about the characters you could really feel them come to life right off the page, this is something I particularly enjoy in action packed books as it keeps you engaged and you cant put it down. I look forward to reading more of Lynda’s books and definitely starting at the first book for this series.

Loyalty & LiesLoyalty & Lies by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book 6 in the series. I absolutely love how the author pulled characters from a different series and put them in this series. Never would’ve expected that.
Calvin and Paisley Mitchell are going to Spicetopia for their anniversary. It was a surprise trip Calvin planned but there’s no place in the world that Paisley would enjoy more. Things do not go exactly as planned. Everything isn’t always as it seems. Calvin and Paisley’s trust in eachother will be tested on this short trip. Will they be able to overcome everything that happens or will jealousy win like planned by others.
Always love when this author comes out with new books and I absolutely loved this one and the author nailed it!!! Great Characters, great storyline. Loved it all! From beginning to end, I was obsessed to see what was going to happen next. Grab your copy today!

The Istambul Heist: Code Raven 8 by LyndaFiller was very good. I really appreciated the way she gave a brief history of each of the characters. It helped to set the scene and their image in my mind. I enjoyed the mystery and was thoroughly engrossed in who was behind the events. I liked how Alice was portrayed as more mature than her age. The relationship between Luke and Samaar was nice to read. You could feel the deep trust they had for each other and their fierce need to protect. Also, all the background information on the locations really makes me want to visit Turkey.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ve never read a Spicetopia novel before, but this one blew my mind. It was never predictable and always exhilarating! It follows a lovely married couple who understands each other’s sexual desires and fantasies. Calvin and Paisley love each other dearly and take a vacation to Spicetopia to celebrate for the last time before becoming parents. The love they share is pure, but this trip tests their relationship in ways I’m sure they never thought possible. The story is exciting, enticing, and extremely addicting. I read it in two days. And sleeping in the middle was a challenge! I would recommend for all adults who are open minded and love a good read. I can’t wait to read the other books and series by this author!

Twisted Throttle: Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #3 by Manda Mellett
4 Stars!!!!

Another journey into the Satan’s Devils MC and I was not disappointed. I found that the author is drawing the reader in and the flow of the story is seamless. I was unable to put this book down. I like how the characters have back stories and that there is just enough drama with romance mixed in.

I really like the chemistry between Throttle and Gwen. I like the twisted story that the author came up with. I found that the author was able to spin a good tale with the stalking and the mystery behind it. I was actually a bit surprised by the twist in the plot. I will definitely read more from this author and the series.

Loyalty & Lies (Spicetopia Book 6) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Dani Dando

Loyalty & LiesLoyalty & Lies by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Yet another installment in the Spiectopia series, based around a naughty theme part that is just for adults. While I’ll admit the stories in this series are not what I would usually enjoy reading, anyone that loves a good raunchy novel to sink their teeth into will adore this and the other books in the series.
Though the stories do tend to follow on from each other, they can be read as stand-alones, and this installment is about yet another married couple, looking to spice up their love life, by taking a daring vacation to a theme park that encourages you to test your boundaries and drop your knickers. Calvin, sweet and apparently innocent Calvin, decides that he is going to let his hair down and dip a toe in the raunchy world for the lady in his life Paisley. She is expecting, and before the baby arrives, Paisley wants Calvin to experience some shenanigans that she likes, far from the safe vanilla-ness that he is so accustomed to. They of course go, but obviously problems arise, when sweet and innocent Calvin, takes to the sauciness like French fries and seems far too easily at home with things that he claims he has never done before. Paisley, bless her, can’t be sure if it’s the hormones, but she is certain that he is hiding something from her.
Like all of Alexander’s books, this will get you hot under the collar. Though not my thing, Alexander always writes amazingly and brings to life some diamond characters that are so easy to relate to. Prepare yourself for more spice and sexiness than any one person can handle, this book may just burn your eyebrows off. You have been warned.

I loved this box set. This is an author that has continued to impress me with her writing skills and attention to details. Her stories pull me in from the beginning and this box set is no different. This is a box set that has five stories about five different couples. The characters are unique, creative and relatable. They brought each story to life for me and really made the stories for me, fun and entertaining. They are fast paced and kept me turning pages to the end. Each has a different story from models to science. I love the chemistry between each couple and they made the stories what they are, great. I highly recommend this boxset and this author.

Love Between the Lines by A.D. Brazeau – Review by Bailey Stiles

Love Between the LinesLove Between the Lines by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Marlowe Bennet is an author who has become used to her hermit existence. She wants to stay home in her sweats with her cats and eat junk food while she writes. Heath is a model who is ready to stop traveling and settle down. After steamy kiss a year ago, Marlowe’s best friend Iris arranges a date for the two of them.

I really enjoyed this book. A.D. Brazeau did a nice job of going into how anxiety can take over your life. I thought the chemistry between Heath and Marlowe was wonderful. Heath was truly a perfect book boyfriend. He was so patient and understanding. I loved how the book focused on their relationship, but I was sad there was no steamy sex scenes.

The friendship between Iris, Marlowe and Marlowe’s sister Lucy was really fun to read about. I liked how they were all so supportive of each other. This was a heartwarming story that was funny and light. A great book to read on a rainy weekend in.

Loyalty & Lies (Spicetopia Book 6) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Karyn Taylor

Loyalty & LiesLoyalty & Lies by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loyalty & Lies is the 6th book in the fantastic, steamy Spicetopia series by Phoebe Alexander. Spicetopia is an ‘anything goes’ adult theme park and they really do mean that anything goes. I have loved the 5 books in this series so far and I also loved Calvin and Paisley’s original story in the Eastern Shores Swingers Series which is where I first discovered Phoebe Alexander’s great books. I was really looking forward to reading the next instalment in Calvin and Paisley’s story and hoping it wasn’t as dramatic as their original story.
Well, it was just as dramatic if not even more, but it was totally hooked to the story and loved it so much. As hot and steamy as Phoebe Alexander’s books are, and this one is no different (it’s very HOT) there is so much more to this book than just the hot sex.
There is a whole lot more going on at Spicetopia than meets the eye and Calvin and Paisley find themselves at the centre of some major drama.
I also loved getting an insight into the 5 couples from the previous Spicetopia books and seeing a snippet of where their lives are now.
I really hope that Phoebe Alexander continues with the series as I’m a huge fan of it. Would definitely recommend Loyalty & Lies.

Twisted Throttle is the third book in the Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation series. It can be read as a standalone. If you want more backstory on the characters outside of the main ones in this book, I recommend reading the other Satan’s Devils series by this author.
This story starts out with intensity and keeps the pace throughout. Even though I had figured out most of the mystery by the first quarter of the book, it was interesting to see how it played out. Toward the end I suspected which way the final twist was going. Interesting choice for motive.
Good action, danger, a twisted stalker, unexpected love…it’ll keep you turning the pages.

I enjoyed this exciting fantasy adventure which had me gripped from page one. As well as searching for her parents Evie is on a swashbuckling adventure along with the crew of the pirate ship, ‘Easy Money’. Having found an ancient map Evie must solve an insoluble puzzle if she is to win a legendary prize, but she soon finds herself in a deadly race between pirate captains to decide the fate of the world. Evie and the crew of ‘Easy Money’ must find The Ocean’s Light, an ancient artefact which wields incalculable power before it falls into the hands of a dangerous pirate crew, that of Captain Hammer and his sons. The wonderful world building really bought this novel to life and made me feel fully immersed in the story. I enjoyed the mix of fantasy and folklore and found Evie to be a great main character who I felt engaged with. The storyline was action packed and fast paced with an exciting and adventurous plot which kept me happily turning the pages. I look forward to book two in the series.

Loyalty & Lies (Spicetopia Book 6) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Loyalty & LiesLoyalty & Lies by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is another enjoyable novel in Phoebe Alexander’s ‘Spicetopia’ series, “where variety is the spice of life”. Spicetopia is a theme park for adults where all your fantasies can be fulfilled. With plenty of spice and steamy scenes this is definitely meant for readers 18+. ‘Loyalty & Lies’ can be read as a standalone story but I think the reader would get more enjoyment by reading the previous books in the series as the couples do crossover, and the backstory to ‘Spicetopia’ is given in the earlier books. This storyline focuses on Calvin and Paisley Mitchell who not only have a baby on the way but are also celebrating their three year wedding anniversary. Calvin was a bit more reluctant to stay at the exclusive resort in the Bahamas, meant for adults only, than Paisley but once he’s there he enjoys himself. Paisley goes from being surprised but thrilled when Calvin gets into the spirit of ‘Spicetopia’ to worrying that something is very wrong and wondering if her husband may have been lying to her the whole time. Paisley and Calvin are both great characters and their chemistry really comes across in the story and leads to some steamy encounters. The storyline has plenty of plot twists that it kept me hooked from start to finish. A great mix of romance, drama and spice this was an engaging story and I look forward to further books based at ‘Spicetopia’.

Back to Spicetopia! I forget how much I love visiting there till I pick up another book, then add in one of my favorite couples from The Eastern Shore Swingers series and all was right in my world for the duration of this book!

This whole series is so much fun, each one could actually be read as a standalone but I just think you need the whole of the Spicetopia series to appreciate it! This one might just be my favorite, it could have to do with the characters I’ve already come to love but I loved the approach to this story. I love the emotions I was feeling throughout. I loved loved loved being on the edge of my seat at times wondering what would happen next. I was a mess at times, angry, scared, happy, sad.. Yes this author hit it all in this one!

Another one sitting read because I could not put it down. If you have not read any of this author’s books, you really must..You won’t regret it I promise, and I’m sure she will become another addition to your one click list as quickly as she did mine!

Forged by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #3)Forged by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 3 in the series but can be read as a standalone.
I enjoyed this book and I love how characters from the previous books make an appearance too.
Melina has a huge secret from her past that she swore she would never tell anyone, however her past seems to be catching up with her and she’s going to need help.
Tyler has been waiting for Lina to be ready for a relationship since they were at school, and he’s certain she will be his happy ever after.
When Melina is accused of treason, she has nobody to turn to other than Ty, and he doesn’t hesitate to help her.
I enjoyed all the twists in this story, and how they all tied into the bigger picture. I got a little frustrated with Lina when she insisted on clinging to the past when she needed to trust Ty and try and move on.
The playful banter between the two was sweet and I loved the subtle messages from Ty and his DVD’s.
This is a another great book to add to the series.

Vince is an accomplished liar and undercover Special Branch agent. Neil McDonald takes us on a looping ride with a secret agent who, by the nature of his work, lives a lie. This is an intriguing crime story with a bit of a psychological component to it. While I did find some of it interesting, mainly the historic parts, it’s not one I sat and read in a few hours. This novel promised to be intriguing but I was left wanting something a bit more.

The Istanbul Heist is the 8th installment to this series, and once again follows the Raven Group through a wild and adventurous ride through the beautiful city of Istanbul. It has everything could ask for in a espionage book, including action, love, secrets, lies, and a twist around every corner. Miss Filler goes into great detail in describing the city and the many wild characters that make up the Raven group, almost making you feel like you are right in the middle of all the action. Even though this is the 8th installment to this series Miss Filler pays such attention to detail that you could read any one of these installments as a stand-alone story. The intrigue of this book took me over, especially the slow build. This book is an expansion from a previous of the author’s stories which allows this to go deeper than we’d thought. Noah, the main character, is quite the lady’s man but that’s about to change as this story takes shape for the reader in an unexpected way. This story is action-packed in the love department but with a special spin as well. For me this book was exciting at every turn. I think you’ll genuinely enjoy it!
