THE ISTANBUL HEIST (CODE RAVEN SERIES Book 8) by LYNDA FILLER. I loved this book. Its was so engaging and kept me flipping pages like crazy. It’s a Code Raven book that is full of mystery and adventure. Its the story of a international Heist set in Instanbul so when Samaar and her teenage daughter Alice join Luke for a fun filled day of shopping. Alice being Alice befriends the assistant to one of the shop owners so when the heist happens he texts Alice who tells her mom. This heist involved several shops so of course the Raven group gets involved. The leader of the heist did not plan for that. Add in the teenage angst of Alice and you have a page turning mystery. I recommend reading these books in order because you will get so much more out of them. I have loved every book!

Forged by Secrets is the third book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series. It can be read as a standalone. The first few chapters of the book were a little repetitive regarding Malina’s past and her back and forth with feelings about Ty. Overall, I found the story held my attention once it really got going. It was interesting to see how the situation with the mole played out. Good suspense, elements of danger, and several secrets that create some fascinating twists.

Loyalty and Lies by Phoebe Alexander an adventure of a five-star read. This is number six in the Spicetopia series you don’t need to have read the others first as each novel focuses on a different couple at the adult resort. I met Calvin and Paisley previously as I have read and adored The Catch, but I wouldn’t have missed anything if I hadn’t, for me it was like catching up with old friends, finding the gossip and spice that is their life. Love between the lines by A.D. Brazeau a fun and fabulous five-star read. This was my first read by this author, but I hope it won’t be the last, as I so enjoyed the interactions between Marlowe, Lucy and Iris, they made this so much more of a story that the plot between Marlowe and Heath, although that was a great plot and not what you would imagine, there really was something there. I read this in one sitting and will certainly be adding it to my re-read pile as this jut gave me the warm fuzzies. Review by @saraoxo

Loyalty and Lies (Spicetopia Book 6) by Phoebe Alexander 4 Stars
This series is quite the roller coaster ride. Each book is hot but the author turned up the heat in this story. It will definitely leave you panting for more. After reading some scenes, all I could think was “wow, she did it again”. These books are extremely, sexually naughty but they do have a storyline as well, it’s not only sex. This book introduces two new characters, Calvin and Paisley, who happens to be a crossover from her Eastern Shores Swingers series. They are looking for some last bit of excitement before their baby arrives but their adventure turns dangerously wrong. Can their love survive the lies and deception?
I thought it was very cool that she mixed characters from her other novels in this one. It makes it seem as if they all live in the same world. We also get to see some returning characters which is always fun. I love the characters in these books and the stories are so much fun to read. Well done Ms. Alexander!

The Executive’s Decision is the first book in the Keller Family Series. The Keller Family is a delightful family. This book is a great intro of them, and I can’t wait to read more about them. I started this book iffy on if it would be one I would like. Let me tell you – I loved it! The book starts with Regan’s really bad day. It was a funny and quirky beginning that just endeared me to Regan. She begins a new job working for the handsome Zachary Benson. She’s been hurt before. Will Zach be the same and turn on her? She is cool, organized, and professional on the outside, but on the inside, she is a mess. She is guarded and afraid, and we get to watch her grow. Will she be able to leave the past behind? Forged by Secrets is the latest and third book in the series Deadly Isles Special Ops. I have read all three books in this series and have enjoyed them immensely. This book would work well as a stand alone, but in the series, it answered a lot of the lingering questions and wrapped up the series well. It is the story of the third Hale brother, Tyler. The mole that has plagued the brothers is still following them. Will Tyler find out who the mole is before it is too late? Will he be able to save his love interest, Malina, before her past catches her? Find all the answers in Forged by Secrets!

I’m not even sure how to process this. Heavy. Raw. Emotional. Real. This book rightly gives a disclaimer at the start. Heed it. If you are looking for rainbows and unicorns and warm fuzzies and HEA, this isn’t it. If you are looking for unadulterated emotion and life, this is it. Wow.
This was a fun and magical young adult book. I really enjoyed that the main character was a boy and a shy boy that doesn’t fit in. The authors portrayal of the character and the world around him really creates the scene.
Liam is a 16 year old boy. He has a special gift. He can see colours around people but only when they are up to no good. As much as he tries to stay away from trouble it always seems to be attracted to him.
Through this story he has his life saved by an unlikely person, he makes an enemy and finds a strange shell on a school field trip. What the shell is and what it means is one mystery that gets unravelled and leads Liam into some dangerous situations.

Liam Covington is a typical teenager, he goes to high school and has a close friend group, but as hard as he tries to keep a low profile while he is there, the other kids are always messing with him, bullying him and generally making his life awkward, but what they don’t know is that he can see colours all around him, not just normal colours, they are attached to people and they get brighter when he is going to be messed around with, but even if he did tell someone, they wouldn’t believe him anyway.
As usual his day starts with someone pushing him over on the way to school, but today, he is going on the school field trip to the desert and he is hoping that it won’t get much worse, however, when he gets on the bus, he can see the colours everywhere and tries to mind his own business. When they get there and the ranger starts talking about the desert, it’s geological features and the life which teams within it, all the kids are just waiting until they can go and play on the dunes, but Liam is enjoying the tour and talk just as much, he is also reminiscing about the family holiday he used to have as well. He crests one of the sand dunes and breathes in the air, thoroughly enjoying himself until he is drawn to a midnight blue colour smoke which is making patterns in the sand below him, this is when danger strikes and he steps into a sinkhole just as a dust devil appears and mixes in with the smoke and swirls towards him but he cannot move or- avoid the sand swirling around him, he tries to dig into the sand and find some kind of purchase to get away from it all. The next thing he knows is Kenna, a girl he has been trying to avoid comes to his rescue, pulls him out of the sand and offers him some water, his head hurts and he feels exhausted and gritty, but still he picks up the unusual shell and walks back to the bus with his friend supporting him.
Things start to go from bad to worse when his brother and mother find out what happened and are mad at him for not telling them as soon as he saw them, but it gets worse when the colours start getting brighter and start to appear in people’s eyes, not to mention the school gossip which is making his life worse, especially when it comes to Kenna, someone who he swore not to talk to again after their families had a disagreement years ago. Meanwhile, he begins to see what he thinks are hallucinations and the shell he picked up in the desert is either burning hot or covered in the blue designs he can see in his hallucinations, but what happens next shocks him into realising that maybe his hallucinations are real and that they may be able to give him some answers as to why he sees the colours and nobody else does. This is a fantasy adventure which will have you speeding along with Liam while he tries to work out the mystery of why he experiences what he does, while trying to live a life as normally as he can.

Loyalty and Lies is the sixth book in the Spicetopia series by Pheobe Alexander.
Despite being part of a series, this book does work well as a standalone, although to enhance your enjoyment of this even more I would recommend starting at the beginning. Not only is this a great series, but reading the previous stories will make this book even more enjoyable.
This book follows Paisley and Calvin (fans of this author will be pleased to see a crossover between series here). They are happily married, expecting a baby, and about to celebrate their third wedding anniversary. Where better to celebrate their big occasion than at Spicetopia? But cracks begin to surface when Paisley grows uncomfortable with how much Calvin enjoys it.
If you have read anything by this author before then this book will not disappoint. The characters are sweet, and of course, we have spice! I can’t wait to read more.

Is the first book in The Cecily Taylor Series by Krysten Lindsay Hager is a fast paced YA that once you start you won’t want to put it down till you finish. This is a sweet romance and the authors style of writing and attention to detail along with great characters I felt were relatable and fully developed. Cecily dreams of being an actress someday. She also has a crush on Andrew who is a singer and he’s shooting a video for his next video. Cecily gets an opportunity to be apart of that and finds herself working with Andrew. Her boyfriend becomes quite jealous and things for her start to fall apart. I highly recommend reading this and find out what happens next. This is my first book by this author but definitely not my last.

Two Hearts, One Stone (Boots and Babies) by Leslie Scott is a sweet and sexy western romance that has all the ingredients to make it an engrossing read. All of a sudden responsibility is thrust on his shoulders and his life is upended by the unexpected little bundle of joy. Add to the mix the sexy doctor who also happens to be the beloved granddaughter of his boss. You guessed it- things are about to get interesting. I really enjoyed this easy read. It was fun and sexy, with just enough drama to keep things interesting. Looking forward to more from Ms. Scott.

Daisy’s Darkness (Wheels & Hogs Book 6) by D.M. Earl is a YA story and one full of the usual teenage mean girls, drama and angst and so much more. DM is a new author to me, so I haven’t read the other books in the series, but I didn’t feel like it mattered tall that much in the grand scheme of things. It is an emotional and hard hitting read but DM does not shy away from the telling. The story shares some major issues that YA’s face in today’s world such as bullying and abuse, eating disorders and suicide and other mental health issues so be aware in case of triggers.
You are going to want to hit out at the mean biatches and take them down whilst gathering Daisy and her friends into a safety bubble full of hugs and love.
Two Hearts, One Stone (Boots and Babies) by Leslie Scott is a contemporary cowboy romance. Leslie’s writing style is easy and enjoyable and entertaining. Her narrative gave us a story that is fun and witty, romantic, and heart-warming, amusing and yet at times saddening. This is a very quick read. It is written in dual POV which I love because you get a well-rounded picture of what is going on.
Sexy cowboy Stone Dempsey is a manwhore and completely shameless. He is about to have his life turned upside down. One thing he knows and knows well is women and horses but definitely not the one thing that will bring him to his knees.
Emmersyn doesn’t want a relationship and especially not one with the manhoe in front of her.

This is the fourth book I’ve read by Dunn. Another amazing read by this wonderful author. This is the fourth book in the Chase Security Series, but can be read as a standalone.
Saoirse is in town for help. Little does she know she’d already met one of the members of the people she is going to. Chase Security does all kinds of things and she needs their help. The quote I chose for Saoirse is: “Shove me if I snore. I’ve been awake for the last two days packing up my office. And yesterday, I missed my planned flight because the people subletting my place in San Diego were delayed. I’m starting a new position in New York. This was the last possible flight to be on time for work at 0800. God. I’m babbling.”
Zach met this lovely lady on his way home. He’s also known as Ice to the members of Chase Security. When he realizes that the lovely lady that he met needs their help it changes everything for him. Will he get his second chance? Once I started I got pulled right in and didn’t want to stop reading. Zach is reeling from losing one if his own, she was important to him in many ways. And when he gets put into a new mission he meets a woman that makes him crave a sub, especially when he has to train her. Saoirse is starting a new case and when she meets Zach she is pulled right in. The more that he teaches her about submission the bigger the attraction grows. Will Zach risk his heart again or will he lock it up? Will they be able to solve the case?
Overall I really enjoyed this read. We get several twists and turns along with the POV of the victim as well, which added a great element to the story. All of the characters were great. The author does a great job with her writing and you feel like you’re right there in the story. This is my favorite in the series so far. I will warn you that this is a book for 18+. We are introduced to the character of Red in The Hook’s Little Mermaid. The character of Red comes off as a brave girl, who has just lost her father . She develops a deep bond with Hook in a brief time. In this book, we get to know more about Red ,her encounter with Hook and their journey together into the forest. Red is a fearless girl, who dons a red cloak .She is a hunter who goes into the deep forest to find fur and ash, and trades them to the bartenders and the pirates to get a good price, to feed her family. Red is determined to hunt down her father’s killer , whom the wolves took out. Captain Hook is in search of the Ash, to battle the kraken in the deep seas. Together they journey into the forest and the fairy tale takes a twist such that another fairy tale is introduced in the story. Rapunzel is introduced and their quest together is exciting. Suzanne Lynn has a good knack of creating this fairy tale mashups, each children’s classic blended with another and a fresh perspective given to the characters we have doted since childhood. I have enjoyed reading this Untold Series so far and hope to see more such books in the future.

10 days was a super cute, fun read! I blew through this book in two days flat.
An author, Alex, decides he needs a camping trip so he can experience first hand what it’s like to live off the land in a survival situation for a book he is writing. Who best to accompany him but his two best friends who just happen to be experts on the subject. It was fun, sweet, sarcastic, fast paced, and even had me laughing out loud in a few places. I really enjoyed the relationship the characters had with each other. 10 days would appeal most to people who enjoy contemporary romances but I think this is a fun read for anyone.

Alex is an author with a case of writer’s block. His friends Luke and Penny agree to take him on a 10 day camping trip to help him. There he falls in love with Penny. But will she return his feelings and what will Luke think?
Alex was not my favorite character. He felt super inconsistent, I’m not sure why he would choose to write a book about a marine lost in the woods, when he had never been in the service and hated the outdoors. It didn’t make sense to me. His background was also confusing.
I did like both the characters of Penny and Luke. There are themes of self harm, so trigger warning for anyone who needs it. It was definitely fun to read the steamy bits, but I found myself skipping over parts to get to those because I wasn’t enjoying Alex’s inner monologue and the rest of the story.

I have not read the adventures of the Raven group before, so when I flipped the first page of the book, I was pretty much bowled out by the introductions itself. Then the book jumped straight into action, with a massive heist being planned in Istanbul. Samaar and Alice, Luke’s step daughter join Luke in Istanbul for a restful trip. When Luke was away, Alice befriends a shopkeeper’s assistant. And that night, there is a heist which happens in several shops in Istanbul, including the shop in question. The assistant texts Alice and the Raven group gets involved. The story is action packed and I stayed up late night to finish the book. There is a parallel track on Luke also going on in the book, holding a deep secret by himself, which is equally intriguing. There are lies and twists, action and thrills. Sit back, and enjoy the roller-coaster ride.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Hager makes me want to come back and read more. The Cecily Taylor Series is an amazing way to start a series.
Cecily is the shy girl next door type. She wants to be an actress, but isn’t trained. Getting the chance to star in a music video with her popstar crush is amazing. Cecily Taylor is your typical seventeen year old girl, she has a close group of friends and a cute boyfriend who she loves, she also has a crush on the popstar Andrew Holiday and has for years, but it isn’t all sunshine and she has had people close to her leave and then not talk to her again, so she has some insecurities around it and a bit of a lack of self esteem, but which teenagers don’t have something like that?
Her boyfriend is in love with her, but he isn’t very romantic, but her best friend helps him out when needed and although it is sweet, Cecily would rather he thinks of these things himself on occasion, but he likes to spend time with her, be that on a coffee date at the library, or watching sports with her at home, even if she does fall asleep and misses the whole thing. However, when one of her friends gets an audition to be in the music video which is being filmed in their home town and Andrew Holiday is the one whose video it will be, Cecily is shocked when she asks her to go as moral support and her parents let her, as long as there is an adult chaperone there as well, but if not, then she would have asked to go to the open auditions with her friends anyway, it would be good practice if she wanted to pursue her career as an actress after all.
The next day, Cecily gets ready for school after she finds out that the private audition with her friend has been moved up, the video said they were looking for the “Girl next door” and that is how she looked normally, then she shows up at school and sees what her friend is wearing and she is not so sure what exactly that means anymore, but hopefully her anxiety wouldn’t get the better of her. As the day goes on all the school is talking about is the auditions, all too soon the day was over and they were heading to the playhouse where the audition was going to be held, her friends mum filled out the paperwork and then her name is called, but as she is going through the door, Andrew himself walks out asking about getting some coffee, walks straight past her and makes a beeline for Cecily, much to her amazement and asks he if she is auditioning too, when she replies in the negative, he asks her to reconsider and come in onto the set anyway. All of a sudden Cecily is being asked to be an extra by the director, saying that she has the “ethereal” look he is going for, he then hands her some forms to fill in and asks her and her friend to come back at 4am on Saturday for the shoot.
As she fills in her family, best friend and boyfriend about the turn of events, they are all surprised but really happy for her, however, her boyfriend starts to act weirdly, but blames it on his mum’s health and says nothing is wrong. The next day Cecily asks his what is going on when she eventually sees him, but he is talking to his ex and seems distracted, this continues the next couple of days, it turns out that he has been seeing more of his ex than normal, although the reason is because she has just broken up with her boyfriend and was upset, but Cecily can’t understand it and feels a little upset and betrayed herself, this feeling continues when the same thing happens and they end up arguing. As Saturday turns up and the filming day arrives, Cecily hasn’t slept well and has no idea what to expect, but Andrew puts her at ease and seems to be as nice as he projects, there is something there and their connection seems more than just superficial, but will Cecily follow her dreams of being with Andrew, or will she stick to her loving boyfriend and the small town familiarity he exudes? This is a sweet romance which will pull you along with Cecily as she figures out what her heart desires and makes the choices she needs to.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Holliday had me hooked from the beginning. 10 Days is a great start to a new author.
Alex didn’t think the 10 days would be so bad. He is there for a writing project. He thought he’d be able to pull it off, but he didn’t think about falling in love. The quote I chose for Alex is: “I’m going to have to seriously work on raising your expectations about how people treat you.”
Penny is there for the fun of it. She is helping Alex with his outdoor experience. What she doesn’t expect is for Alex to fall in love with her. The quote I chose for Penny is: “The tent. I figured your first lesson would be figuring out how to set it up.”

Secure Her is book 4 in the series. I have read the others in the series but this one is by far, my favorite!!! The two main characters are Zach Wentworth and Saoirse Kennedy. I was shocked to see them go undercover together. Just thought it was odd how they met and then weeks later they are going in together to take down the human trafficking business that has killed many men, women and children along with some precious undercover agents. They must work together and get in character so no one suspects a thing. These two make such a cute couple reading about them and I swear I love them. This book definitely will keep you flipping the pages until late at night because there is so much going on and so much suspense that you need to know what happens next. You definitely want to go grab a copy of this today. Great read!

Regan Keller is a woman who has been hurt and survived it all and when she gets a new job as a personal secretary, she is determined not to make the same mistakes again. Zachary Benson is a man who heads up a successful empire and is known for his attention to details and ability to get things done, but he hasn’t got anyone but his parents to share his success with.
It is Regan’s first day in her new job and things are not going to plan, her car didn’t start and if she got a ride then she would be late, so she decides to take the bus, but of course it is raining and she forgot her umbrella. When she gets on the bus, she realises that it is going to be one crowded journey and if the old woman taking up two seats between her and her large bag, it is going to be standing room only all the way, that is until the bus jerks and she ends up sat in a strange mans lap, she is terrified, but just about keeps her cool when he engages her in conversation and wraps his arms around her to keep her right where she is. She does enjoy the conversation and despite her misgivings, she agrees to meet the man for lunch, even though she has no idea who he is, but she doesn’t have any time to think on it when she heads into the office where she is due to take over from the current secretary to the CEO who is heavily pregnant.
As she finds her way round the office and learns her new duties, she realises that it is already lunch time and heads to the hot dog stand and surprisingly has a fantastic time until her mystery companion takes a call and leaves her, again without her asking his name, however, that is all about to change when she goes into his office to bob something on her bosses desk only to find that it is actually the man from the bus. She is startled and immediately panics and starts to leave, but just as she is convinced by him to return to the office, his current assistant goes into labour and they have to rush her to the hospital. When a mystery man comes in and envelops Regan in a hug, Zachary has no idea how to react, apart from a twinge of jealousy, the same thing happens when he drives her home to see another man waiting for her at the house, he has no idea why he feels so strongly about her, even though he has only known her part of a day. As time goes on and Regan settles into her role at the firm, she cannot deny that there is an attraction to Zachary and as much as she tries to ignore it and remain professional, she can feel her walls starting to crumble, but she denies his advances as best she can and tries to remain professional, she is a natural at the job though and as she builds rapports with his team and helps him to run the contracts he has been building, he is off to L.A. to try and win a new contract for a company and man he has worked with before, albeit the secrecy he employs until the deal is completed is not something that he enjoys doing, but all he can think about is getting back to Regan and helping her overcome her worries and fears.
Will Regan be able to open her heart to the man who is trying so hard to win her over, or will the past come back to haunt her and make any decisions she makes into a life or death situation again? This is a whirlwind romance with an undercurrent of malice which pulls you along until its conclusion.

Bernadette Marie’s romance novel The Executive Decision is the first book in the Keller Family Series. Regan is a highly insecure woman that has been attempting to recover from an abusive relationship. Even though the physical wounds had healed over the past year, the psychological effects still linger causing her to keep men at a distance. When she started her new job at a real estate agency, her boss immediately felt an attraction to her. Zach Benson is determined to break through her defensive wall. Regan’s attempts to keep a professional work relationship falters as she realizes she has mutual feelings for Zach. Will she let the charming executive in or will she push him away and stay isolated by allowing her past to dictate her future?
Bernadette Marie made The Executive’s Decision a very intense romance story. The inner conflict that Regan battles are realistic and the determination of Zach is admirable. Zach wasn’t overly pushy and seemed in tune with how Regan felt, a rare quality. I also like that there was a family-connected support story that many romance novels tend to lack. The dialogue and personal interactions are engaging and, while there are some explicit scenes of passion, the story is classy. I confidently rate this a 5-star romance story that I recommend to anyone looking for a relatable character-centered story.
