This was my first Bernadette Marie book, and I am so very impressed with how each character had such a unique, distinct voice and personality. With such a large group of characters, mainly handsome gentlemen, it can easily become smeared talking heads, but Marie is very skilled in her character development. This is a love at first sight, heroine standing on her own two feet, love story that happens to have a rugged, loner cowboy as the hero! Throw in some mouth-watering descriptions of yummy food, a mystery, and some good old-fashioned southern charm and you have the makings of a great late-night read. I can’t wait to see what the next Walker brother has in store!
