This is the first book I’ve read by Queen. Bad Man on Campus is a great read. Queen is an author I will be coming back to read more of.
Kace is a big man on campus and has been for three years. When he goes home for his dad’s wedding he runs into a blast from the past. The one who got away. The quote I chose for Kace is: “No babe . We can handle this. You can get help. We’ll talk to Majik. She goes to AA and maybe she can sponsor you.”
Glory has had her life thrown upside down for three long years. All to help a friend out because she was drunk. Running into Kace helps heal her or so she’s hoping. Glory can’t stop drinking. The quote I chose for Glory is: “AA is too public . People will know. It’ll cause more problems for you . . . and your parents. I’ll handle this. I’ll stop drinking the nips. I’m not driving anymore. It’ll be okay. I’ll call my therapist. Or maybe I’ll talk to Dooley. He’s been a good friend. Thank you for introducing me, for asking him to take care of me.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

Blake is a former Olympic snowboarding champion that is coming back from a series of injuries. From a bone disease that led to a partial leg amputation and an accident that has really messed up his back, he has spent plenty of time in a physical therapist’s office. When his new PT is the woman he had a run-in with on the slopes the weekend before…he is ready to walk out before the appointment even starts. Once he gets past her tough façade…he sees a kindred spirit trying to work through the hand that life has dealt them.
I found both of these characters to be relatable. Holly and I have a similar sense of humor. But watching both of these characters face their pasts in order to move on in their future was inspiring and emotional. Understanding how one person in our lives can be tied to so many memories is a reminder to make memories when you can…while knowing that making new memories is a way of healing. I enjoyed this story!
Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance (A Hartwood Holiday Romance) by Jae Dawson is a sweet and endearing love story. This author paints a beautiful picture of what love can be if you just take a chance. Tragedy and triumph are just some of the moments in this story. Fireworks explode when Holly and Will meet as personalities clash and passionate tension presents itself. I was drawn to these characters immediately and was kept enthralled the whole way through. This story was sweet with an abundance of sass. I loved it and everything the story represented. Jae Dawson is a seriously talented author and will always been known to me for drawing the reader in and bewitching them from beginning to end. 4 stars.
I really liked this collection of poetry by Leon Stevens. Many of the poems spoke to me in the sense that they put into words things that I have been feeling and have felt in the past. I also love Leon’s use of descriptive language in his poems; it really painted a picture in my mind, a sort of moving poetry. The poems definitely made me think; about love, heartbreak, and loss. Various topics were also discussed in Lines by Leon, which I appreciated.

Fantasy, myths, and Ireland is a combination that I just couldn’t turn down. I was a little afraid that it might not be as good as I was wanting it to be in my head, but boy was I wrong! It was better. Gleeson captivated me from the very first chapter.
She moved in-between worlds so beautifully that I never wanted to put this book down. The magic that she brings through Soarise as she’s discovering her past life just leaps off the page.
The way she wove music into this was amazingly done. Not to mention the story moved at a fast pace without many lulls at all.
I am anxiously awaiting the sequel so I can dive more into this world that Gleeson has given us. Upon looking her up I have found that she also write historical fiction, I will defiantly be looking into more of Gleeson’s work.

Wow and I thought book 1 was heart breaking, this one really did it for me. Please be advised of the triggers of abuse when reading this book. I can say this book parts of this were harder to read due to the triggers for sure for me, but yet I wanted to know about Wren. His story is truly heartbreaking, especially when growing up all he wanted was unconditional love from his parents but his father, I am just shaking my head. There are no words I can describe Wren’s father, just not good. When Wren meets his love, Henry, thinking this could be Wren’s happiness. But as fate would have it this book, twists and turns come into play. Will Wren find out the truth? I recommend reading the first book as some things tie in… but I do not want to give it away. Overall 4 Stars.

This was my first time reading this author, and I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed this book! The characters and the folklore drew me in immediately.
Saoirse struggles to find her place in the world. The only thing that makes sense to her is music, as it sing to her soul. Then she finds out, she’s not really who she thinks she is. Smithy has been missing a piece of his soul for a very long time. Could Saoirse be the one who completes him? Is he her other half and purpose in the world?
Ireland has fascinated me since I visited with my best friend and this book gave me all the feels. It brought back fond memories of the countryside, the cities, and the folklore. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!

As a lover of fantasy and young adult books, I found this first book in The Forsaken series by Martin Ferguson to be fascinating. The characters are well thought out and their identities and capabilities are shared with the reader opening up to a new world of fantasy.

This book is dark, heart wrenching and I am torn in thought. After finishing this book, it has taken me a day to write this review because of thinking of everything that happened in this story. Shane Coulter’s character has totally torn my heartstrings many times in this book. He is angry, distant and at times a complete jerk, keeping family and friends at arms length not to get close. Yet I feel for him completely, the abuse he suffered and the loss of a close friend that he never got over. The story unfolds as we meet Callan, whom was the love of his life, pop back in and wants another chance with Shane. There is a lot of love/hate feelings from Shane when it comes to giving Callan another chance. This story unfolds, but there is so much more… Family secrets, lost friendships, Dark twists and turns along the way, but I do not want to give the book, you need to read it to find out. The ending though made me feel like I missed a piece of some puzzle that I am trying to wrap my head around. Please be advised there are triggers of abuse. Overall 4 Stars.

As a first-time reader of the Jarvis Mann Detective Series, I was very pleased to discover that R. Weir is a true-crime author. I love the twists and turns that are found in the plot. The characters are great, especially Jarvis.
Jarvis Mann is a private detective for hire. After discovering the death of a former colleague, a wealthy entrepreneur sends Jarvis to San Diego from Colorado to discover what took place and caused Rocky’s death. Jurd is a new to me author. This story is a sweet romance that happens between two males and happens to involve kink. This story is good for any reader with an open mind, a nonjudgmental reader.
Bailey is a sweet innocent young adult male who wishes to be special. He doesn’t understand how special he really is. Oh, my! He is so innocent. Bailey’s life is anything but easy and of course he has dreams of finding true love, someone who will care for him and someone he can care for as well. Someone he can trust with his dreams.
Sam is a man reaching the best years of his life. He doesn’t realize he is missing something until Bailey walks into his store. Sam has experience and knowledge. But he is lacking a special someone he can care for. A chance meeting helps these two discover there is more to life than what they are currently experiencing.
I love how this story creates an acceptable world for these two to explore and love. I love the secondary characters also known as friends! Looking forward to what’s next for this group of characters.

Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance by Jae Dawson is part of the A Hartwood Holiday Romance series. This series can be read in any order because each is its own story. This book is set during the Christmas season featuring physical therapist Holly and former Olympian Blake. The two seem to be a natural match. I like the character Holly because though she is dealing with a loss she has a great sense of humor. Blake is competitive and had his own losses which allow the two of them to find common ground. I have enjoyed this series and this book. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

This was a cute story and had some good moments. I think what I had difficulty with was I could not connect with Chloe and her mindset throughout the story. I also feel like there was a lot going on at times and there were some details that weren’t essential and did not add to the plot. I also kept wondering if something was wrong about Chris. I was glad the situation in the end made it clear why the premonition thing was important and tied that loose end for me. It was overall a nice story and I enjoyed it. I would read more by the author.

I really have loved following this series from Naomi Valkyrie and was super excited to see we would be getting another one with a F/F centered romance spin. I have really appreciated the way she tackles writing her romances and the same sex ones at that with a classy and intriguing way that keeps me coming back time and again for more. I was super ready to see what we would get with A Cold Day In Hell, and it did not disappoint! Hadassah is a character that you cannot help but fall in love with and want to cheer on throughout the novel. I was even more here for Jezebel. I think you will want to read these novels in the order that the author has written them for you to fully enjoy them. As I have read these I have really grown to love each of these characters and realize this is a family that Valkyrie is creating and introducing us to little by little. I cannot wait to see what we will get next from her!

I absolutely loved reading this story. Reading about the tigers and lions pulled at my heartstrings. I was rooting for Sheldon and Simone from the very get go. They had amazing chemistry and played off each other fairly well. Seeing Simone slowly open up to Sheldon and watching them grow closer made me happy. Although reading the descriptions of his miniatures he made, definitely had me giggling and giving me ideas for my own personal life. The storytelling was magnificent and wasn’t solely focused on just the steamy scenes

Naomi Valkyire has done it again with this adorable story. I absolutely loved learning about Jezebel and Mikael’s sister this time and reading about the adventures they went on. At first I didn’t like Hassabel. Her “holier than thou” attitude rubbed me the wrong way. But seeing her grow out of it was a sigh of relief. Learning about Jezebel made my heart cry. She had been through so much. Also seeing her overcome her trials had me whooping and yelling to cheer her on. I can’t wait to see what Naomi does next!

Laurencia Hoffman writes gritty stories that really touch the heart and soul. Wren is an empath. Had a horrible childhood and his mother committed suicide when Wren turned 18. Wren’s mother was also empathic but was convinced by his father that it was a mental condition. When Wren’s mother commits suicide, he walks away from his father. Wren falls in love with an amazing man, Henry, but their marriage is overshadowed by the visions he starts having. Wren knows Henry is going to die, be murdered, but when? Henry refuses to listen and they start to grow apart. The police believe Wren committed the murder and he continues to have visions. Can he figure out what the visions mean before it is too late? Laurencia writes about things that aren’t always mainstream or that are misunderstood. Being empathic and feeling everyone else’s feelings can be overwhelming and confusing.

This was an incredible story for me. I have just come out with my own sexuality in the last few years. Reading about Shane and his struggle of being gay and his family not so supportive of that hit some heart strings for me. Shane has been through a lot. The first boy he dated, Jake, disappeared. Then he met and fell in love with Callan. When Callan walked away, Shane was heartbroken. Callan reappears and Shane has to make some choices. He still loves Callan, but can they date, and Shane still be able to hide the secrets from his past? I related to the characters in this book and felt like I got to know them all personally. Thank you Laurencia for a heartstring pulling story. I loved it!

This was an amazing introduction into the world of Irish Mythology. I never knew how interesting it was. The first book in the Rise of the Celtic Gods series is jam packed with information on mythology with a modern twist. Both major aspects of any great book namely storyline and character development is well written by Kristin Gleeson. The importance of each character is very clear throughout and also how each one of them plays a part in the story. I will be waiting eagerly for the next book to be released!!

This is a very engrossing psychological thriller. Janey, in search of her long-lost sister, gets tangled up in the web of the Johnsons, the last family her sister worked for before disappearing. As she does her own investigative work to follow the threads to her sister, she becomes more tangled and enmeshed in the danger. This story definitely sends your mind reeling, casting about for answers as clues are steadily delivered. Janey’s childhood memories come sifting in through the present, adding colour and depth to what is really going on here. This is very well-written, and the pace of the plot was great and kept tensions high without going overboard. The characters were nuanced and their personalities diverse. Couldn’t put it down until I had read the final page.

I really enjoyed this story. It is an interesting concept about a microchip being able to change our lives for the better or the worst.
Gigi, Lilly and Ellen all went to Dr Kite for help. Gigi needed help with a medical condition, Ellen wanted help losing weight and Lilly needed help staying young and overcoming her divorce. Dr Kite helped all 3 women, however Dr Kite isn’t a real doctor and what none of them realise is the consequences of the chips. Sometimes getting what you want in life isn’t worth consequences.

I honestly have to say I don’t know were to start with this book, and I really don’t think that what I write is going to capture the amazing story. A tale of Celtic fantasy of gods that were finally finding each other in a tale of two lovers torn apart for century’s, finding their love and who they are was such a chilling, loving experience to read. The words and story just fell tighter so amazing that it made you feel like you were there. The twist about what these Celtic Irish gods had gone thou is an amazing twist to everything that is to be said about them. This amazing action Irish music-filled, myth, urban fantasy, of magic with a Celtic twist was so amazingly put together, that I just couldn’t put it down.

Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance by Jae Dawson is a Hartwood Holiday Romance. I think this one has to be my favourite of the series so far. I thought this book was so entertaining, the characters really had me laughing. But at the same time the author has managed to create a depth to them with real emotion behind them. You become invested in their journey, especially because of their histories. This has been a brilliant series so far and with each book it just seems to get better. I love how easy this authors writing style comes across. The story just seems to flow. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
I fell in love with this book after a few pages. Jody has some major insecurities, mostly from her lack of keeping a job long term and her family’s view of her being a screw up. When she finds out her grandmother has fallen and hurt herself she soon realizes that she will be the one to go to Clover Bay to help out at her grandmother’s bakery. Jody is not feeling very optimistic and she’s afraid she will screw it up. Adam is the one who called and told Jody and her sister Hannah about their grandmother, he was expecting Hanmah not Jody who looks to him like a high maintenance city girl. Adam has been hurt in the past by an outsider so he chooses to stick to interacting with the locals. I really enjoyed watching both of these characters grow throughout the story. They both tell themselves not to get close to each other but both find themselves enjoying spending time together while Adam helps teach Jody a few things. Will Jody find her niche working in the bakery? What will happen between these two? This is a must read to find out. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

I love, love, loved this book! I really wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was but gosh was I surprised. I couldn’t put it down. I am a self-proclaimed “coupon queen” so this just made me laugh so much even though it’s a mystery. I have never read a book by this author before but apparently this is the second book in this series, so I am going to go back and read the previous book. Not that it is necessary to understand this book. It’s not. I just want to read it for the story. I found that the characters, especially the main character, are so relatable. I could envision so many of my friends and even some family members in their places. I highly recommend picking this book up to read. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
I wasn’t sure if I would like this book because pony play isn’t something I know much about or are super interested in, but I was intrigued by the blurb. I am so glad I chose to read this!
Bailey is painfully shy, awkward, and inexperienced. Sam is pretty much the opposite of this. Sam purchased the local adult video and toy store and is in the process of updating it and trying to make it successful. Bailey comes in regularly to look at the one thing he wants to buy, but is saving up for, and Sam is intrigued.
I absolutely adore Bailey. He was so shy and awkward, and my heart hurt for him. I wanted to take him home, feed him a decent meal, and just cuddle him like a puppy. Sam may be his opposite, but that is exactly what Bailey needs and I loved watching their relationship grow. I was sad we didn’t get to see more of their relationship before the end of the book and I hope the author continues the series so we can see glimpses of them, and find out what happens between the other characters!

I am a person who loves Christmas galore. I literally am the person who will sing Christmas songs while cleaning the kitchen and dress an elf to deliver presents. I wasn’t always like that though. I strayed from the idea of feeling happy as hard times I have been though. Then I met the love of my life. So when I read the plot story line for this amazing book, I knew I didn’t have to just read it, I knew I was attracted to it in sense of maybe finding a bit of who I am inside the pages?
This book is around Christmas time and you have two characters that could not be any more alike. Or were they? Holy was like who I used to be. Closed off from the feeling the festivities of Christmas gave off. She was a a modern ice queen. That said she had endured devastation that truly impacted her. But deep down that heart of hers was loving and warm, and had a passion for helping people. And would never let anyone fail on her part. Overall tough she had trust issues I found quickly that she was a commendable and likable character.
Blake, he was snowboard winner in the past for the Olympics. Unfortunately a medical issues arises and he loses one his very legs. This just doesn’t depress him…it really kills his self worth he feels for himself and brings a dark cloud over him like probably a lot of us never had. Imagine the thing you loved doing most and being told you can never do that again? That your life was forever changed and no matter how you looked at it or tried, there was no going back?
On both the ends of Holly and Blake I felt for both in different ways. Not just sadness, but a urge in my heart that felt quite devastated and they needed help in their lives. Or did the doctor just write a prescription for a Christmas miracle?
When they meet and their lives collide. Maybe love and fate had the upper hand at play here? There was instant chemistry, though, neither of them wanted to accept or even consider it at the first meet. They both came from painful walks of life and had reasons not to open up to one another, but when you find a connection such as that would you pass it up?
Reading on I learned more in depth of how they were and how they got to be where they are in life. As well as myself, the two characters seemed to form a bond that was deniable. And most certainly did not give them an icy chill, but more of a warm fire on a cold winter day. They were opposites perhaps at first but maybe the whole thought of peanut butter goes with jelly is true? Different in aspects of life, but when put together, its the perfect combination!
I loved this book more than words. It made me smile a lot as well as laugh at times. The author wrote a very wonderful and happy story. I was convinced, and fell in love. At the end I was able to finish reading and smile knowing I got to visit a wonderful time of Christmas and live through the shoes of others lives that started off on a bad foot, but ended up with a blissful happy feeling. Exactly what I always seem to read when I experience anything associated to Christmas 🙂
This author always is amazing. I have one of their other works, and it was just as good and amazing. I look forward to more books in the future from this author. For they truly play the right song on my heart strings with their writing, their characters, and the feelings their books bring 🙂
I was enticed by the marine veteran meets librarian storyline and stayed for the sensitive way the author handled Nash’s PTSD and his return home. Appreciated the concept of communication, talking to each other before getting too deep in the relationship. Both main characters were well developed, and I’m a sucker for any setting that includes a library! Looking forward to reading more Bobbin Sister stories, we’ve only met two so far.. could there even be a Marine buddy spinoff!? I will stayed tuned for more stories from Debra Parmley.

Pet Me was a book that I was instantly intrigued by, after reading the synopsis I knew I wanted to give it a go and I’m so glad I did. This isn’t my normal go to read but I’m happy that I stepped out of my comfort zone.
This story was well written with beautifully dynamic characters and great world building. I loved all of the detail as it made it easy to picture everything playing out in my mind and truly feeling all of the anxious emotions through the pages. This was truly a great experience to read from beginning until end!
I look forward to reading more from this author and would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next M/M read!
