dating the intern by Nataliba Reis – review by Erica Shoebridge

Dating the InternDating the Intern by Natalina Reis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This one starts out with a premise we’ve seen before – for one reason or another, a woman finds herself in a bind due to a little white lie that snowballs quickly. Ivory, matchmaker by trade, tells a reporter doing a feature on her business that she has a boyfriend, and now needs to find one PDQ! Enter sexy young intern Li Qiang, who volunteers to fill the role and save her skin, and hilarious hijinks ensue. Ivory is a tad on the clueless side, and seems to be unable to assess the information in front of her as to whether or not her burgeoning real feelings for the intelligent faux beau are reciprocated or not. Putting that aside, this story does actually go to some interesting places emotionally, adding some depth and shadow to the pairing that is pretty interesting. The book is romantic, whimsical, and sultry with some nuance to the characters I found entertaining. A good read.
