A Divided Mind (The Divided Series Book 1) by M. Billiter – Review by Trish Ann

A Divided MindA Divided Mind by M. Billiter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was definitely outside of what I normally choose. I’m glad I took a chance on this book! I kept in mind what was prefaced before the book even started and how this story even came to light.

While I wouldn’t necessarily classify it as a traditional thriller, it was definitely psychologically suspenseful at times. The consideration of how Branson’s voices and hallucinations manifested as well as the way his mother handled what was unfolding kept me very invested.

I’ve read a few books that contain characters with mental illness but I found this one to be one that really creates a supportive pull for all involved. I understood the rationale for the father, Ed and his role in the initial PTSD diagnosis but I felt that he was an inconsistent plot point.

I am definitely interested in reading the second book of this series, The Divided Twin.

SPOOKED BY A SUSPICION by Risa Nyman – Review by Bobbi Wagner

Spooked by a SuspicionSpooked by a Suspicion by Risa Nyman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book I have read by this author which I enjoyed just as much as the first one. This is a young adult story about Rocky and what happens when he is accused of stealing. He is a young man who has plans until his suspicions that Ted is trying to frame him. What will happen to him? Will he prove his innocence and prove that Ted is really behind this? I enjoyed his character and what he brought to the story. The secondary characters gave great support. They all kept the story engaging and wanted to know what would happen next to them. This is well written and the realistic feel and details are great. I really enjoyed this book and it would be great for any young adult. I highly recommend this book.

The Sound of Silence AUDIO BOOK by Dakota Willink – Review by Kerry Baker

The Sound of Silence Audio Book by Dakota Willink is a gripping and intense story that literally had my pulse racing. For so much of this book I found myself on the edge of my seat. It almost felt like I was right there with Gia and there were times when my heart was in my throat at the thought of what was about to happen. The author has done such an incredible job with this book. It is heartbreaking and uplifting all at the same time. I loved how she used the multiple POV’s to really add depth to the story. For me it made it even better. This book definitely contains triggers so for those that may be sensitive of them I would say read with caution. However I also cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is easily my favourite one by this author and it is also one of the best books that I have listened to or read this year! I am already looking forward to experiencing this one again. An amazing and emotional book I would urge everyone to pick up today!!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dire’s Club by Kimberly Packard is such a unique and interesting book that really pulled me in from the start. I loved the concept of the final bucket list trip and how the author has gone about creating that idea. I thought that all the characters were so well written. They each had their part to play and fit the book so well.
This is still a relatively new author for me and I really enjoyed how this book is completely different to the other books of hers that I have read. I think this one has to be my favourite book so far and it one I would highly recommend.

This is the 1st murder mystery book I have read. I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it. This is book one of the Stripped series and it’s a spin off of the Bruised series. I can’t wait to go back and read the other series. This book takes Dee the main character through some very serious soul searching. The love triangle, the steam, and the suspense were all great!!!

Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles Book 2) by CR Robertson – Review by Tausha Treadway

Forbidden MateForbidden Mate by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles Book 2) by CR Robertson. This book was amazing. The first book was good too and I would suggest reading it first but this book just blew everything out of the water. Its a fast paced story full of paranormal romance, drama, and vampires. This is the conclusion of Tasha and Levi’s story and it will shock you to the core. Things are more complicated as the battle continues between the Vamps and the Lycans. Castus is still totally obsessed with Tasha and will stop at nothing to have her even though she wants nothing to do with him. This is the telltale sign of whether Tasha and Levi make it and it will keep you flipping pages until you are finished. Tasha is still finding out about her powers and how to use them and of course her relationship with Levi is causing all kinds of destruction. This book is so good and I hope you will all read it.

So Close (Love Grows Series Book 4) by Renee Regent – Review by Lisa Helmick

So Close (Love Grows #4)So Close by Renee Regent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my favorite story by this author. There is drama and action and the characters have real world problems to overcome. This also is a triangle style that I have not read before. That alone made this intriguing on how the author handled this situation.

I really enjoyed these characters and storyline. They made me smile and I easily identified with them. I loved each of their jobs. Levi’s especially is very different and interesting. That is something that makes a book stand out to me. The uniqueness of the characters and plot.

The only thing I felt was iffy in here is the complete turn around of one character. This person is combative, full of their self and showy. I just couldn’t see that type of person showing tears and all of a sudden…nice. Maybe as time goes by..changes could occur…like the epilogue..that fits. I think I looked at all these characters as “real world” and I forgot they are fictional and can do anything. Anyway this is a blip in an otherwise wonderful story.

This is not my first book by this author but I feel it is her best. The story moves along at a good pace and I was drawn Into these lives. This is well rounded and I enjoyed it.

This is the second book in the Her Three Immortals series. This book is giving me book hangover 🤕… in a good way.

Also, if you liked Beauty and the Beast, I truly think this is a GREAT retelling with an Underworld and Alice in Wonderland twist. I didn’t catch on to this until after I finished the book and started thinking about the characters.

The DonThe Don by Hazel Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I first picked this book I thought ‘The Don, has to be mafia, download’

Boy was I wrong but in a good way. This book includes, Gods, Demi-gods and if you know more about mythology then I do(and you don’t have to Google during the book) it pulls in real stories and ties in great characters.

⭐️ Raef 🥵 is my favorite right now.
⭐️ Grey(Hades) is ok, he’s more of an alpha-hole in this book but I have a feeling he softens up.
⭐️ Vanessa is the H and I love 🥰 her from the moment she was introduced; such a heart of gold and her family is #1.

I can not tell if this is going to be a RH, which would be fabulous, 🙌🏻 Or a love 💕 triangle.

Either way, I am here for it and I can not wait to keep reading this series.

So Close (Love Grows Series Book 4) by Renee Regent – Review by Karyn Taylor

So Close (Love Grows #4)So Close by Renee Regent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So Close is the 4th book in the Love Grows series by Renee Regent. Although part of a series, each book can be read as a stand-alone. I have read the previous book in the series and enjoyed them all so was really excited to read another book in this series.
In So Close we get the story of Dahlia and Levi. Dahlia and Levi were best friends as kids but have since become enemies. What’s going to happen when they have to work together on a project?
I really enjoyed reading Dahlia and Levi’s story. You are kept waiting quite a while to find out why they became enemies and this kept me gripped to the story. I wanted/needed to know what went wrong to end their friendship.
Levi is determined to get Dahlia back as a friend…and more and will do anything to get back into her good books. This makes for a very entertaining read which had me not want to put this book down.
Dahlia and Levi are both great characters that you can easily relate to and you can’t help but hope that they get their HEA.

TAINTED by Marsha R. West – Review by Amy Brennan

TaintedTainted by Marsha R West
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There is something to be said for a strong, courageous female lead. Regardless of the genre, I find that these novels pull me in, and spit me out wanting to be a little bit better, a little bit stronger, and a little more independent. This story was comprised of a couple strong female characters, being Liz, and Lauran (her daughter.) Their relationship alone tells you what kind of Mother Liz is, and how much of her life she devoted to motherhood. Her little pup Charley seems to be quite adorable as well.

We’re thrown into a whirlwind of events when the FBI come pounding on Liz’s door in the wee hours of the morning, and you’re quickly brought up to speed on the goings on of what she’s been through over the last couple years. Once you get the backstory, Lauran and Liz make their way to Red River, NM, from Fort Worth, Tx. Marsha R. West does a phenomenal job at setting the scene, and you feel as though you are along for the ride, through the scenic drive. The easy conversation, and getting to know both these characters is done, flawlessly!

The trials and tribulations that these women, and their friends/acquaintances go through are crazy, intense, and quick. I found myself getting more and more curious as to what would happen with Liz, and her old love interest from high school, Marshal Matt Thornton, as it quickly becomes a suspense and second chance romance. I didn’t ever put this book down and was lost in it from page 1 until the ending. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. Will be recommending to my Mother, as Liz and Lauran’s relationship reminds me of our own.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I absolutely enjoyed this book! I was engaged from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down. As a 37 year old woman, there was a lot of relatable ideas to the main character, Ivory. I will say, I am fortunate to not have the confidence demons that she has and I got so frustrated for her trepidation throughout the book.

I liked that the story was light and moved smoothly. The plot kept moving and all of the details were relevant to the story. I would definitely read more books by this author!

Ride For Me (The North Shore Crew, #1)Ride For Me by VR Baucke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ride For Me (North Shore Crew Book 1) by Vi Summers has romance and suspense. Best of both worlds.

Gage’s life was ripped apart by tragedy in his past. Three years of grief and a refusal to feel had taken their toll. He’s a shell of the guy he used to be, content to be numb and resentful. Gage is pushed into his cousin’s environment in a last-ditch effort to turn his life around. The Crew’s universe. One crew member, out of his depth and reeling, reawakens long-forgotten sentiments. Gage is anxious to keep his emotions hidden. His bond with Lil, on the other hand, is all-consuming. Uncontrollable. One minute it’s scorching hot; The next, it’s freezing cold. Gage thought that lightning doesn’t strike again. But, when it came to losing the woman of his life, he was adamant. It strikes again as Lil’s history rears its ugly head, pushing Gage to face his demons. All while attempting to prevent the painful past from repeating.

I loved this story and the concept of it as well. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is the first book in the series and I can’t wait to read more.

HER DARK LOVE (DARK SPELL SERIES Book 4) by ISRA SRAVENHEART – Review by Kerry Carr

Her Dark Love (Dark Spell #4)Her Dark Love by Isra Sravenheart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in the Dark Spells series. I have enjoyed all these books but this one is really special.

This book is proof that people aren’t always what they seem and that some life event makes them the way they are.

This book goes back to when Isra goes to Wingdom’s Academy to learn all about her gifts as a witch. This is a side of Isra we haven’t seen before when she is sweet, innocent and good. Isra is only has good in her heart and even though she’s not very social she makes friends with Everilda.

However the friendship turns nasty when Irsa finds herself involved in a love triangle with Everilda and Johnathan. Everilda  knows about Isra’s feelings for Johnathan but she still pursues him.
Feeling hurt and betrayed by the 2 people she cares for and trusts this is the turning point where Isra goes from good to dark.

Meanwhile Isra is being watched as she is part of a prophecy. Does Isra need to remain good or is that the main reason for her turning to the dark side.

This book is full of adventure and betrayal. It also answers a lot of questions about what made Isra the way she is

THE MARCY SERIES BOXSET: BOOKS 1-3 by Linda J. Burson – Review by Tamisha Janay

The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3 by Linda Burson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When I started this series, I had no idea there were thirteen books! Linda Burson has created an amazing story with Marcy, Liam, Brad, and all of the other characters. It was nearly impossible to put down. I am looking forward to diving deep into the other ten books to see what happens after the initial three.

Book one introduces us to Marcy and her rage. She has been irritable, violent, and unlike herself for quite some time. There is no fathomable explanation for it, but everyone in her life has noticed a change in her. We meet Brad, who doesn’t come across as the most reliable or understanding partner, but we discover all about how they met and the memories that they’ve shared. We meet Liam, who has an heir of mystery about him that is BEGGING to be discovered. Marcy’s friends and family (and all those who work in her cafe) are wonderfully written. They obviously care about her and put her best interests at heart always. After an ultimatum, Marcy decides to get some insight into why she is feeling the way that she is – which only opens the door for more revelations and ‘confusion’.

Book two, aptly named confusion, follows Marcy on her journey to discover what her heart truly wants. She gets an opportunity that most never do – falling in love with more than one person and getting to explore that love with both of them until she is able to decide what her choice should be. There is so much being uncovered in her therapy sessions that she needs to deal with, but her priority seems to be focusing on her love life. Trauma is a hard thing to recover from and avoidance is usually the easiest way to handle it. We follow her journey with Liam mostly in this book and learn more about him – as we did with Brad in book one. Safe to say, I have made my choice by this point.

Book three was a rollercoaster at night with a blindfold. Marcy has made her decision, told everyone she cares about, started on a new path towards her future, and made AMAZING strides in discovering her entire past to move past the traumatizing experiences she faced. Things never go the way that you think they will with Linda Burson and I am absolutely addicted to this series due to the twists and turns, shocking revelations, and character storylines.

There are no cliffhangers here, but I will say that you will be left wanting so much more. I am so excited to continue this series and find out what happens to all of the characters. These books have caused me to be very thorough when reading and I find myself being suspicious of the things that are being said or the way that the characters are acting on each page. I love the way this story is progressing and that there is still so much left to uncover. Seriously, if you’re thinking about it – read them! Don’t hesitate. You won’t regret it. *TW: descriptive violence & self-harm*

Who doesn’t like good mystery? I absolutely adored Sunshine and her penchant for sleuthing. This box set had me from the first page and reading well into the night. All three stories are well written and developed in their own right. My favourite though was Shooting at the Shore which is a murder mystery. With quirkiness that will have you laughing out loud and characters that up you will fall in love with – I highly recommend picking this set up today.

THE MARCY SERIES BOXSET: BOOKS 1-3 by Linda J. Burson – Review by Lorrene Huisman

The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3 by Linda Burson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just wow! Those are my opening words that I am using, as nothing else seems to give an impact as these books did for me! The book themselves and their storylines really impact you in different ways. And lets not forget the characters, their emotions and their drama make you feel literally everything! Its a rollercoaster of suspense, drama, and emotions needless to say! All in all, impeccable writing!

The first novel follows our lead character named Macy. She is having a rough time, and at times I truly felt for her. She did not have the best boyfriend in my opinion and she’s got issues. I mean we all do in some way and I can speak from experience that support is supper important to help us! This novel surrounds Macy and her nightmares, and her nightmares are more than the word heavy can define. What do they mean? It was a mystery and brain like thing to comprehend. Along her way trying to figure things out she meets Liam. Who basically rocks her world and shifts everything that she knows! She felt like she was losing it at times through out this novel, but perhaps there was a key in all of this that was more visible than anyone ever suspected of thought? Yes, I really loved this opening book.

We join Macy and her story continuing in the next novel. This one lives up perfectly to the one previous to it. Macy is very much confused with matters of her heart, hence the book title. Plus everything going on with her does she really need her own heart pulling her into different directions? This one brought more to the table than expected and I was hooked even more. More and more things came to light that really bought the suspense and then some. Like holy cow, this series with this second one made me feel even more, my feelings were all over the place with the characters, and I was truly entranced with this series!

We reach the final one, and yes I felt sad this series was coming to an end. I was so emotionally invested that I really grew with all the drama and suspense surrounding Macy, that I was not ready to say her story had reached its conclusion. This book bought more impact to me than the first two even did, and I truly did not think that was possible. This series bought so much and this third one really finalized everything and gave the reader for that thrill ride like no ever experienced, at least in my opinion. Macy has to go through a lot in this one, a lot of pain and suffering, what she thought she had she very much didn’t, Everything changes more than lightly for Macy, and she has to shift her world to get to the true understanding of all things that she knows! Macy is very strong, but even the strongest souls can be weakened to their knees with life! The emotions of this one were even heavy for me, and like Macy who had to continue on with her life, despite everything, I pushed through those emotions to see what would happen to Macy and all things that surrounded her! Seriously what an explosive conclusion to this one!

Seriously, I was so invested in this series and these characters I could not put this down. I was so in love with this series and all it brought to the table. This author quickly became a new favorite for me, and that’s needless to say. I am going to be stalking them for more books. the impact and feelings they brought on to me with their writing was indescribable. If an author has that power then you defiantly should pick these books up I say, I highly say to do so, your in for a treat that you can only experience upon reading these novels! Its a series that will suck you in, and make you feel everything!

Dangerous Curves Boxed Set 1: 3 Cozy Christian MysteriesDangerous Curves Boxed Set 1: 3 Cozy Christian Mysteries by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved these mystery novels, and them being in a box set made them all so much more amazing I would say! I loved how each one pertained to a certain mystery of its own, and the characters were always so full of intuitiveness that they were all more than just lovely characters. Plus loved how characters were carried over to the next book! All of these books are defiantly worth a read!

The first novel follows Sunshine, she has a important duty, but things go a bit haywire when a robbery happens and its bounty for her head personally. I loved her. She was a strong and good character and she had very much intelligence. She was very good at the mystery itself and a great heroine!

The second novel that we have at hand, is about the Marina. And the surrounding people and those who know Sunshine and those I will say Sunshine will get to know to get to the bottom of this. Animals begin turning up dead but why was the true mystery at hand. Sunshine and her friend go about this mystery to get to the bottom of this! Even if they have to go to the bottom of the ocean!

The final novel I got to enjoy as well, we follow the awesome Sunshine again with a murder. She has help from a few friends this round. I found this one very intriguing for me personally. There was so much surrounding this murder, and many possible motives. As the others, all were fun and great!

I loved reading about the adventures of Sunshine in the novel, and the mysteries she got sucked into! The books were fun, full of heart, and really knew how to suck you in. The author wrote a great series of books and I am so happy that I did! I had a lot of fun and enjoyment and I will defiantly suggest you read this bix set! The author wrote some wonderful mystery’s to enjoy, and they are quite addictive!

I was a big fan of book one, but The Girl and the Gargoyle is even better! Pauline Gruber has outdone herself on this one.
Completely unpredictable, I loved the twists and turns that keep you guessing what’s going to happen next. Continuing on from the first book, the mystery around Marcus continues to grow in this book and keeps you hooked, as well as the relationships that Lucy forms with both Jude and Dylan. The way the author has created the atmosphere ready for book 3 is honestly genius, and I cant wait!

Holy Cow! What an intense yet gut wrenching romantic suspense that will have you turning the pages while on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what is going to happen next. This author never ceases to amaze me, this is my favorite yet. The narrators done a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life and making you feel like you are right there with them. This is an emotional rollercoaster ride that in some parts I had to push stop and take a minute to gather myself then I was right back to listening. This is about Gia she’s a woman who thought she found love with Ethan but she soon found out what you see is definitely not what you get! Ethan is a abusive man . Gia finds the strength and courage to get away. Will she be safe? Can she trust another man? Find out what happens next in this must listen/read. I can’t wait to read/listen to more books by this author.

The Girl and the Raven was an unexpected delight! I was hooked once I started reading and didn’t stop until I finished the whole thing!
Extremely fast paced, it wasn’t the typical cliché story line you often see in Young Adult books. You feel like you are right there in the story with Lucy, feeling what she feels along the way. I enjoyed the well written character development as the story unfolds and how the mystery around her neighbour Marcus keeps you guessing and wanting more (I don’t want to spoil any juicy details). I’m excited for book 2 and seeing more of Lucy’s story unfold, so many possibilities.

Potager Plot (A Backyard Farming Series Book 5) by Vikki Walton – Review by Melissa Agena

Potager Plot (A Backyard Farming Series, #5)Potager Plot by Vikki Walton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a fun-hearted little mystery novel! Potager Plot: A witty cozy mystery with a hint of romance is the fifth book in the Backyard Farming Mystery Series by Vikki Walton. Now, this is the first book for me from this author and I was pretty darn impressed. I’m used to really dark and super psychological mysteries and this is quite the opposite. This book is all about lighthearted and cheery wrapped up with a little bit of mystery and romance. You can read this book as a standalone. It is not necessary to read books 1-4 beforehand but you know me…I like reading things in order so I don’t miss a thing. Ms. Anne Fremont has taken on planning gardens for the people of the town. When she find outs that Billie, the garden club president is dead…something makes her immediately think that something is fishy. So Anne is on the hunt to find out who killed her friend and why. I am definitely going to go back and read the first books because I enjoyed this one so much! I definitely cannot wait for the next book!

Sweet Nightmares (The Dream World Chronicles Book 1) by Chynna Pace-Review by Lauren West

Sweet Nightmares (The Dream World Chronicles #1)Sweet Nightmares by Chynna Pace
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a fun read. Chynna Pace has woven a tale full of mystery, suspense, the supernatural. The characters are original and the story itself speaks to the imagination.
It begins with Alex and her sister Zoey being sent to live with her grandmother after the mothers death. Their grandmother is an odd and interesting woman, and someone they have never met until now. In their grandmothers home they are introduced to her roommate of sorts 17 year old Kacper. As they settle in strange events, hidden secrets, and late night visitors become an occurrence and soon Alex learns that her semi normal family is anything but that. Its a very fun adventure as we watch Alex learn about family secrets and discover she’s not just an ordinary girl

Repair: An Everyday Heroes World Novel (The Everyday Heroes World) by Trish Williford

I don’t even know where to start when talking about this book.  I guess I should start by saying I loved this book.  Very beginning we meet Charlie and her older brother Jude and Jude’s best friend Trent who goes by Tank.  I have a huge soft spot for guys named Jude since that is my Grandson’s name so I had a good feeling from the start.

Charlie is an angel/hero by working as a nurse.  She is great at her job but needs a change.  She gets that and then some when she moves home.

Trent grew up with a giant chip on her shoulder due to his childhood and always felt he wasn’t worthy of anything.  I understood why he felt the way he did and wish I had the people in my life like Trent had.

I really had a hard time putting this book down to the point that I dropped my kindle on my face a few times trying to read just one more page.  I really hope we get stories for both Jude and the other brother Dane.
