Raven Woman’s Tavern by Laura Koerber is a very short dystopian paranormal story with a bit of a dark tone, drama, the supernatural, shifters, a survivalist community of fringe dwellers, danger, action, and more.
I did like the premise, as well as the few clever touches that Ms. Koerber wove into her storyline- but I would have loved to have read a longer and more in-depth version of this story. There were so many details that I wanted to know more about, and have more backstory/background information, as my curiosity was piqued. Also, there were times I felt like I was ‘missing’ something, which disrupted the flow of the story for me and gave it a bit of a wandering and somewhat fragmented feel.
As expected from Ms. Koerber, this was a very interesting story with thought provoking elements. I like her originality- and there was definitely more to the story and character/s than first meets the eye.
The story had me drawing the conclusion that aspects of this story could very well happen in our future.

Thank you, Laura Koerber!
