My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Written in the Stars tells the story of two women-Elizabeth, 17 years old, pregnant, and alone in 1950. Her parents are ashamed of her decisions and take her to the Dartmouth house to have her baby. Marlena, successful nurse, just at the beginning of building her life with her fiance, Jack. But when Marlena’s dad becomes ill, she discovers a family secret that has been hidden her entire life. Determined to find her birth mother, Marlena sets out on a journey that changes not only her life, but those around her.

Oh my goodness, what an amazing story! This one I couldn’t put down. My heart broke for both Elizabeth and Marlena, and their stories kept me engaged for the entire novel. The heartbreak, tears, and joy are made so real for the reader, and I was rooting for the characters from page 1. I can’t wait to read more by the author!
