A Natural Passion had me hooked from the first few sentences and I had to keep reading to find out what would become of the characters and if the mystery of the raided sea turtle nests could be solved. It was very well written, characters were well described, and the book moves along at a good pace.

The story centers around Dylan O’Day, a marine Biologist, and his intern, Kyra Shine. Dylan is dedicated to preserving and protecting marine life and has devoted his life to doing so. Suddenly his world is turned upside down when he meets his intern, Kyra, who he becomes smitten with. Dylan has never met anyone as caring and down to earth as her before. He finds himself conflicted as he finds himself falling for her but does not want to risk his relationship with her as her mentor. He is also older than her, so he chooses to keep his feelings to himself and keep their relationship platonic.

Kyra finds herself infatuated with her boss’ son, Jake, who has a reputation as being a bit of a bad boy. However, Kyra only sees the good in Jake because they share a love for the ocean and more importantly the endangered turtles. Kyra spends a great deal of time with Jake, much to Dylan’s dismay, and Dylan tries to warn her about him. Kyra chooses to ignore Dylan’s advice and continues to see Jake thinking that Dylan is being overprotective.

When illegal poachers start raiding the nests of the endangered sea turtles the Science Center Team sets out to investigate and save the nests before more are ransacked. Dylan sets out to protect the endangered sea turtles against the poachers and hopes to catch them in the act. Will he be able to save the endangered sea turtles? Will his heart be broken by Kyra? Will Kyra choose Jake, or will she choose Dylan? Will true love prevail? You will have to read to find out!
