I’m hooked on this series. The verbal duals in the court room, the witty banter of the main characters, the plot twists, and the drama of the vampire coalition have me on the edge of my seat. So well written and intellectually entertaining. This one has Donovan & Shirley in exile and fighting the antiquated Coalition. I can’t wait for the next in the series!

This is my first read in this series and if I hadn’t read the reviews, I might not have known other Lochlann books existed. With that being said I fell in love with the authors writing, character development and scene building. Rowan is a spitfire princess who seems to do things first and then ask questions later. Depicted as the black sheep of her family, always in trouble alongside her cousin Davin. In their latest escapade they get caught in an enemy kingdom and will be judged for their crimes at a summit of the clans. Lord Theodore is as straightlaced and uptight as they come but through shared moments Rowan seems to break through his outer shell to find the strong, protective, caring man that she never knew she needed. This is a book that teaches you that you cannot judge a book by its cover. Each story has two sides to it and although you may think you know everything there are always circumstances that you cannot even fathom. This book will take you on an emotional ride with Rowan as she learns that actions have consequences, but it is important to uphold your morals. Can Rowan and Theodore overcome generations of hate so they can have a future together? Will her future even last past the summit meeting of the clans? You have to read this book to find out but I promise this is one journey you’ll be glad you took!

Goddess of Everything: A Blood-Curdling Tale of Truth, Freedom, and Love by Paul DeBlassie III is the perfect book to read as summer turns into the spooky season. I am a fan of supernatural horror, and this book is an excellent one. Gabrie՛l de LaTierra is a psychiatric healer in Aztlan del Norte. The Orphanage of the Holy Innocents is experiencing evil. These two together make an intriguing combination when his mother, wife, and child become involved. I was fascinated by this book, and the author’s writing style. This is such a spell-binding page-turner that it was hard for me to put down. I will absolutely be visiting other books by this author. Seriously, don’t pass this one up.

Dating the It Guy was a wonderful book! Even though when reading it, I was overwhelmed with the sadness I felt throughout, I had to keep taking breaks to recoup my energy. What author Krysten Lindsay Hager did with this YA novel, it would come highly recommended by me to anyone who likes YA novels. The character development and the emotions of the characters, especially Emme, was on another level than books I’ve read in the past. Emme wasn’t the only one though Brendon had just as much character development and emotions throughout. I’m having trouble putting into words all that I felt while reading it. I can tell you Krysten Lindsay Hager has a gift because I was deeply and emotionally involved with these characters as if they were my family and friends. Most people growing up always have that one friend who wants to keep you on the right path and that rebellious friend who will never conform to everyone else. That perfectly describes Emma’s best friends and support system. The author takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions that are sad, satisfying, depressing, happy, and even some laughter. Don’t let the fact that it’s a YA novel, prevent you from giving it a chance. YA is a guilty pleasure for me, no matter how I am. So why can’t it be yours?

This is the first time I have read this author. Admittedly, I am a sucker for retelling of a fairy tale. I love to see how other authors interpret what the story could have looked like with other characters in different realms.
I did not read the description very close and was therefore a little surprised to find out that the prince has a husband. I know, shame on me for not reading it closely, but I was already drawn into the plot of the story and felt invested. I do tend to skim the explicit scenes, just because that is not what I read books for. However, I loved the tension that Ashling and the prince had. I also found it refreshing that she wasn’t swept up out of her dire circumstances, but chose to stand up for herself and take action!
All in all, a quick read that was enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing how the author continues the storyline.

Saratoga Roan by Bree M. Lewandowski is a country romance about two young lovers who ended up going through some trials and tribulations. Cassandra caused plenty of heartache when going halfway across the country from Wyoming to New York to Rhett because he was not giving her the love and affection she was wanting. But, one horse brings Cassandra and Rhett back together when she is needing to board her when deciding to move back to Wyoming and trying to to start again with Rhett. Can the heartfelt lovers rekindle their love from 5 years ago? Or will they go their separate ways? I enjoyed this world world wind fast paced romance. It gave me a Beth Dutton and Rip Yellowstone vibe. I truly hope there is a sequel to find out what happens next with them.
This book tackles misogyny in the best possible way. Titania is such an amazing heroine, that she had me rooting for her from the very first page. I absolutely adore the way that she faced her personal demons and the misogyny surrounding her with grace and fire! Tricia Copeland created a beautiful world that drew me in from the very beginning. This book is full of adventure, magic, wonder and romance, all while dealing with very real issues that unfortunately still affect women the world over. As a woman, I really connected with Titania and the struggles that she faced simply for being a woman. I went through so many different emotions reading this book because it has such depth to it. I am eager to read what’s to come in the rest of this amazing series.

This was a great sequel. It has less smut in it than the first book in the series. I definitely enjoyed reading the Egyptian storyline the most (side note: author please please write a book focusing on the Egyptian storyline). The world-building was just as good as it was in the first book. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future. I highly recommend reading this series.

The Book of Carraig by Andrea Matthews is the second book in the Cross of Ciaran series. I would definitely recommend reading this series in order so that you can get a full enjoyment of it. I enjoyed how easy it was to get right back into this story and the characters. Ciaran and Caitlan really are so each to read about. Even in the second book you can feel their connection. I thought this was a really well written story too. The mystery and intrigue were great elements to the book. I am really pleased to see there is going to be a third book and I can’t wait to read it.

This book is insanely amazing, I was not expecting the journey it takes you on. It is like a cross over between law and order and fifty shades. Detective Gavin McLead works in homicide and he is investigating the brutal murders of women left in dumpsters, But what is strange is that Gavin starts to dream about these murders before they happen. I was trying to figure out what was happening right along with Gavin. It is so well written and I cant wait for book 2.

A sweet and steamy romance with a strong female main character and a smoking hot male interest.
Tessa is a single mom doing it completely alone. She works hard and spends all of her time with her daughter Emerson. Tanner is a single man who is always working and helping his sister while her husband is deployed. When the two meet they cannot deny their instant attraction to one another, but neither of them have the time to start a relationship. Despite their busy lives they decide to start a no strings attached relationship. However, one person usually ends up having more feelings than the other. Add a rockstar of an ex who walks back into Tessa’s life and things quickly get messy. Now Tessa is torn on what to do and has some big decisions to make for her and her daughter.
I absolutely loved Tessa. As a recently turned single mom myself it was amazing to follow along with Tessa while she made time to do something just for herself for the first time since having her daughter. It’s honestly why I first picked up this book because I could relate to Tessa. What I didn’t realize was that it would give me hope and remind me that it’s okay to just do things for yourself once in a while as a woman not as a mom.

Dating the It Guy is a YA, High School Coming of Age story by Krysten Lindsay Hager. This is the first book I have read by this author, but it definitely won’t be the last. The characters are amazingly detailed and the emotions had me all over the place. I was laughing one minute and reaching for a tissue the next. This is one book I couldn’t put down, it brought back memories of my high school time many years ago. I would recommend this book to anyone no matter their age. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Hager.

Ye Gods! The Law is an Ass! Is the second book in the Donovan Trait Series by Seelie Kay. I highly recommend reading the first book if you haven’t already as this is a continuation of book one. I loved being pulled in from the beginning of this short read that I finished in one sitting. I had to know what was going to happen next. This story finds Donovan and Shirley on the run after they break the agreement with the Coalition. They didn’t mean to but she accidentally got pregnant and now they are being sought. Hager paints the teenage years in a very vivid and relatable light. Hormones’, insecurities, the daily stress of trying to fit in, peer pressure, etc. A story that reflected the struggle of growing up, and learning to be comfortable in your own skin. Teenage angst at its finest. Emme and Brendon were characters who you could easily connect to and understand. Emme was a girl who had family issues, a lack of confidence, and a lot of insecurities. When she begins dating Brendon who is one of the most popular boys in school and the Senators son she begins to fall under quickly with the self doubt and stresses of being compared to girls before her. Brendon who is a down to earth and sweet just wants to live his life normally. He encourages Emme to be herself and be comfortable, but he also fails to understand some of where her feelings come from. The relationship navigates jealousy, insecurity, lack of communication, misunderstandings, and poor judgement calls. This story shows young love and new love all rolled into one. It is a good read with some good lessons for young adults today.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Storm. The Bow is the third book in the Her Three Immortals Series. This series needs to be read in order or you will be lost. Storm knows how to keep her readers coming back.
Vanessa is enjoying her time with Grey when his mother decides that she wants to send her away. Vanessa is sent to the Otherworld(Earth) and is to get a vial of water from the waterfall of youth. The quote I chose for Vanessa is: “Maybe not the part about the Underworld. I wasn’t in a rush to go there, but… as much as I miss Mom and Piper, I’m glad I ended up with Grey and that I could help him find what he’d lost.”
Aroz is the God of Lust and Love although he doesn’t know that. He doesn’t know about the darkness in his palace and he doesn’t know his mother made him lock away his twin brother. When they finally are one things get better. The quote I chose for Aroz is: “You may touch me anywhere you like, Bella. You should know that by now.”
Not many times you end up reading a laugh out loud mystery. I really enjoyed this book and there were times when I was chuckling to myself reading this book. Swindler’s Revenge is book 5 in the Karina Cardinal Mysteries series by Ellen Butler . Karina Cardinal is the feisty spirited heroine who has a knack of getting into trouble all the time. When her Ex Boyfriend, FBI agent Mike Finnegan, is accused of a serious crime, she cannot keep her hands off the case as she knows deep in her heart that he is innocent. With a little help, she intends to prove it just the same. The book is a real page turner and keeps the reader hooked till the very end. Overall I loved the mystery.

I love this series of books because they mix plot and character perfectly. I don’t think it is necessary to read the rest of the series to be able to read this one as a standalone, but you should because they’re all so good, and you also get a better handle on some of the minor characters where they have a history with the main character Karina, who is as dramatic as ever. The book is fast-paced and a page-turner. I never know quite what’s going to happen next and while all the books have a similar atmosphere, this one is still unique and doesn’t repeat what’s happened earlier.

Whew! Wow… just wow. This book took me on a Rollercoaster ride with all of its twists and turns and unexpected plot points. I thought I had it figured out and then the author went: “Nice try! Bam!” Plot twist. Seeing the struggle between choosing his wife and his mother was a little heartbreaking. I really enjoyed this book and have found a new thriller author! This is a young adult fantasy novel. I love books based on the Fae, the Throne of Glass sériées being one of my favourites. I was really excited to find this book. Titania has suffered loss in her young life which leaves her with anxiety attacks. After a few years of training to become queen, she never expected to rise to the throne at fifteen years old. The situation being as it is, she needs to rise to the occasion and overcome obstacles set before her. There are problems within the castle and dangerous threats outside. Who can she trust to help her protect her realm and her people?
I loved the fact that Titania was smart, strong willed and caring. I think it was a little unrealistic how brave she was for a fifteen year old who has panic attacks, regardless I liked her anyways. I believe she has great potential. I liked that there were other supernaturals involved ie: witches, vampires and angels. Although not all made an appearance in this book, it adds potential to future books in this series. My only issue is that I found the story long. I feel like this book could have been written in two books. I found the story interesting and see many ways that the author can expand upon. I’m looking forward to reading more about these characters.

Seelie Kay is an author that I recommend to everyone. Her writing has always drawn me into the stories from the first word until the last word of the book. There is always a good plotline to get lost in. Her characters are unforgettable. They are complex and complicated. She has a unique take on vampires which is refreshing. We met Donovan in book one. That is where the fun begins and gets interesting. I highly recommend this book to see what happens with Donovan and Judge Shirley.

The story Something Lost was great once the main plot got going. It is very slow in the beginning. I would have preferred if it didn’t take so long for these to start building between Craig and Rachel. Other than that this love story does pull heartstrings.

Kat is very endearing, and Phillip is an old gentleman who has waited many decades for his true love to come back to him.
