Another great read by Amy McKinley! The first book in her Mafia Elite series, the book is a bit slower of a start than the other books that I have read by her, but by the end I was hooked and excited to read more of the series!

Liliana is sceptical of the new bodyguard at first, but through a series of actions that he takes is able to begin to trust him. Maddie and Adam will for sure light your kindle on fire with a “slow burn” that will have you aching for more AK MacBride ASAP! MacBride is a new author to me so this is a wonderful find for me at a five star read that had me so hooked I read well past my bedtime to find out if these two characters that had stolen my heart would get the happily ever after I so wanted them to have. Of course you will have to read and find out if they did for yourself because you won’t find that detail in my review lol but I can tell you this book is one you do not want to miss. Especially if you enjoy reads that can make you cry and laugh all in one chapter, not something that is easy to do with such ease and grace that AK MacBride does so very well in this one several times. I loved the fact that the tragedies were believable and relatable and made the story rich not heavy. I was completely invested in the futures of these two from the way they would love to the way they would live. I cannot wait to see what else is available from Ms. MacBride!

The first book in The North Shore Crew series, Ride for Me by Vi Summers has you hooked from the very first chapter! The book started out a bit confusing due to the prologue being set four months in the future, but as the book continues everything slowly started to make sense and made me want to keep reading it more and more.
The perfect ‘opposites attract’ friends to lovers story, Lil and Gage have both dealt with heartache and loss, making an interesting spin on the story. There were definitely times that I was tempted to yell at my phone as I was reading it, getting frustrated with the men in the story. If you read it, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
This was my first read by Vi Summers, but certainly won’t be my last! I am excited to eventually read the other books in this series.

This was the first book that I have read from Mannersly. Caught By Him was such a cute little read and I enjoyed it. It was definitely and easy read and it had a good story line that sucks you in from the very beginning. Brody doesnt expect Willa to be exactly what he needs. When Willa goes out of her way to help him feel more comfortable in the new role he is cast in he quickly falls head over heels for her. Willas ex boyfriend and Brodys assistant are a constant bother to both of them by trying to keep them apart and sabotage their relationship. Communication is key and Willa has that and Brody needs that.

Imagine, if you will, a time and place where a pandemic runs rampant across the globe, people are afraid of others, global warming has changed the world as we know it and now the aliens have arrived! Are they here to help and warn us as they say or are they really here to take over the Earth even amidst the devastation and disease that wreaks havoc across the globe? Oh wait, aren’t we living this now in many ways? Holy crap!!! What a wonderful book that made me think about the current situation on our world and how the different earths handled the pandemic differently. I tend to see this book as a what if and how to approach our lives. The storyline is absolutely fantastic, and the characters are quirky yet very believable and relatable. My favorite character is Mary Carpenter a strong woman who has seen many horrible things and takes no crap! I always like reading books with strong female characters. Do not miss this amazing book that is well written and possibly a revelation into what we have coming in our near future!

Caught By Him is a great contemporary romance novella by Tammy Mannersly. I have read a few of her books before and have always enjoyed reading them. This was no different. I devoured this novella in one sitting in less than two hours. This may be a short book but the writer manages to pack a good amount into it. The story is fast paced and flows well. I loved the two main characters Willa and Brody. Both are very well written and are believable character that you can connect with. I also hated both of their exes who try their hardest to split Willa and Brody up many times. Willa’s ex just can’t take the hint that their relationship is over and will stoop to any level get her back. This is an entertaining read, it’s very lighthearted and keeps the reader engaged with the story. I would recommend this book.

This is a really good Sci fi adventure. The author does an amazing job of making the story seem so realistic that you could imagine it actually happening. This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. I love how the author mixed a scifi story with current events happening in the world. It makes the story more realistic and relatable.
Plant earth is slowly being destroyed with terrorists, disease and global warming. Things on Earth are going from bad to worse. So when a group of 6 aliens land on the shore of Jamaica how are the people of Earth going to react. Are we going to embrace the new arrivals or is fear going to get the best of us and we end up destroying them as well. The aliens now have to learn to live in a world that is strange to them all the while protecting themselves from being hunted by the people that they had come to learn from and help.
This books is really good as it is so relevant and uses things that are happening currently such as pandemics and global warming. It also plays on people’s theories and fears and makes us ask the question how would we react if we knew for certain we weren’t the only living beings. That other living beings lived on other planets.

I can always count on Nicole Flockton to deliver an enjoyable story as was swept along on another wonderful read! This story definitely had all the ingredients to hold my attention- right from beginning to end. I enjoyed the story so much I read it in one sitting. Home to the Outback is the first book in the Welcome To Bunya Junction series by Nicole Flockton. This is a contemporary romance, ’my best friends’ sister’ type story with Ms. Flockton’s own unique touches. There also plenty of emotion, drama, some danger, and secrets- all set in a small country town called Bunya Junction in the Australian outback. Sindy Carruthers returned to her hometown three years earlier, when life got ugly. She has made a new life for herself managing the local medical clinic and feels like she finally has her life back on track. But with the death of the local doctor- life once again throws her a bit of a curve ball- in the form of Dr. Ryan Flanagan who arrives to attend the funeral of his friend and mentor. Then to make things even more complicated, they find that they have both been named in the will. Gaining a half share in the medical practice. Add a little danger, secrets, drama, and angst, and we have a captivating story. A great start to this new series and I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the instalments!

This was such a fun book to read. Princess Rowan is most likely the black sheep of the family who has the right amount of sass and is an out-spoken, strong willed, independent princess who just can’t seem to stay out of trouble with her cousin Davin usually by her side. She falls in love with Lord Theodore who is everything a backwards Socairan Lord should be but finds a soft spot for the fairy Princess. Scarlet Princess is a romantic, high fantasy adventure that I enjoyed so much that I could not put down. The writing and editing are great, allowing the story to be truly immersive. The twist and turns that this book took was incredible and always made you guess as to what was going to happen next. This book leaves you on a cliff hanger and you will be wanting more. It was an amazing read, and so very easy to get sucked into the story line and get lost in. I love how the story was written, which is what captivated me into it. The writing and technique truly spoke for itself and I anxiously am awaiting to see what unfolds in the next book in this amazing series! I would recommend this book and look forward to the next.

This book is a short paranormal story which I did enjoy, however I think that I expected a bit more. The writing is very good. And the characters have depth. I really started to fall in love with Baylor’s character. I feel like I was missing pieces of the storyline as I was reading. I expected these bits to pop up suddenly, but they never did. I would love to see this a second book. I would definitely want to pick that up and dive deeper into this fantasy world which originally pulled me in.
Baylor is a milita man who seems to be normal in all accounts. He goes out with friends to check out the Raven Tavern, a slow bar in a dying timber town. And they find more than they expect at this little unknown bar.

What in intense story!!!! At times, I felt like I was going in circles. Celina’s husband was murdered and Kai, the head demon, came along and offered her a deal for revenge. She learns that nothing is ever as it seems and if it sounds to good to be true, it usually is. There are thrills, twists, action and so much more in here. The plot leaves you thinking because it is a typical good vs evil. We see Celina trying to rescue those trapped in “Hell” and even some good times out of “Kai” but it is always a struggle. It is well worth the read. Great for paranormal romance fans. Highly recommend.

This was a really interesting story. It will keep you gripped from beginning to end and is full of twists and turns. I like how at the beginning of the story we get introduced to each individual character and find out how they work and fit into this town.
Warrentown is a small place with very few residents left. The ones that are left are getting old and are struggling to live each day and survive in their town. The town is watched over by Rachel the owner of Raven’s Tavern. However Racheal isn’t what she appears to be and when a group of people from the local militia come into the town the residents start to panic. Some of them aren’t exactly doing things that are legal and some of them aren’t even human residents.
You are taken on a story through a dying town and the struggles of it residents. You also learn about community and connection when they are faced with an enemy which threatens their way of life. This book is a good supernatural story which touches on elements of our life today.

I loved this book! It is a very quick easy read. It’s the first I’ve read from this author. I cannot wait for more.

Our main female character Liliana ‘Lil,’ feels that way every single day. Trapped in what might as well be a prison of a home, with her father that literally just regards her as property, she struggles through the losses she’s experienced, and with the knowledge that her future isn’t her own, rather, will be decided without her best interests at heart.
Enter our hero, Max, under the guise of being a hitman for the families within the Mafia, who believes he has learnt all the information he needs to be able to complete the mission that was assigned to him by none other than Liliana Brambilla’s grandfather, Vincenzo. That mission, my friends, is to protect Lil at all costs. Little does Max know, he has bitten off more than he can chew, but loves every bite, nonetheless.
As was the case with other novels by Amy McKinley, I couldn’t put this down. It was a change of pace from the past few I have read from her, and the second Mafia novel I’ve indulged in, and I have to say, this one really did it for me. It had more twists and turns than I was expecting, and in turn, had me staying up way past my bedtime, not only to read, but to maybe entice the events in the novel to inspire my dreams, and the emotional waves I experienced, from goosebumps, to laughter, was everything I was expecting from her, and more. So very much looking forward to the next installment in the Mafia Elite series. Highly recommend!

This is a cute and saucy story about two people who unexpectedly fall for each other in the sweetest way possible. From lab partners to friends, neither Drew nor Abby are up for the distraction a relationship would bring as they finish out their senior year of college, both with the ambition to get into med school. He’s also a star athlete on the college basketball team, and holds onto his rule of not dating during the season.
Both are driven to ace their chemistry class, which makes their study time together important to both of them, and the mutual respect they hold grows into friendship. Both seem to be caught unaware that their friendship has blossomed into anything more, despite it becoming obvious to their friends and family. But, they’re waiting to see what medical school programs will actually accept them, which could split them apart if they end up on opposite sides of the country after graduation. Is it worth the risk? Between busy study, work, and practice schedules, they try to find a balance as they discover their deeper feelings for one another.
I really enjoyed reading this book and particularly loved how wholesome the characters were without it feeling unrealistic. Totally satisfied my sweet tooth for romance with some sizzle.

Romance with a demon is not for the fainthearted. This book has the dark gritty and ghastly parts right with a ton of twist and turns. These twist are not what you expect and keep you in edge wondering what’s going to happen next. I really enjoyed this book.

Swindler’s Revenge is the fifth book in the Karina Cardinal Mysteries Series by Ellen Butler. I swear with each book I say it’s my favorite yet and I’m going to say it again. I’ve truly enjoyed reading this series and will definitely be re-reading several times in the future. This author continues to amaze me with her attention to detail and I love being pulled into her stories I feel like I’m right there with her solving mysteries. Karina is back in yet another fast paced story but this time it’s a hunt for a fugitive that she knows. Karina and Mike split up months ago and she hasn’t seen him since. Before she realizes what she’s doing really doing she jumps right in and ignores the danger she might have put herself in. Can she solve the mystery of whose framing mike before it’s to late? I highly recommend reading this to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to see what this author brings us next.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo, this is the last book in the series. Swindler’s Revenge by Ellen Butler is another superb story. Karina Cardinal and the gang are back, and I just love them. Although they are standalone stories make sure you start at the being and fully immerse yourself in all things Karina Cardinal. This series just gets better and better with each book. This unpredictable thrilling ride will have you laughing out loud and holding your breath at the same time. Ellen is the master of mystery, and this series is just proof of that. You never know where the story will go and what is going to happen next. As is her style Karina finds herself in trouble whether she means to or not. However, in this case things go from bad to worse as she tries to solve the mystery of why her ex is being framed for a crime, she knows he would not have committed. As always, a brilliant tale. Keep them coming.

Code Name: Vulture is a dark Vampire Romance story and the first book in The Order of the Condor Series by Maya Daniels & Sylvia Black. It is fast paced, with lots of action and danger and is steamy, addictive, and sexy, and full of danger. I was lost in the story and the harsh but oddly alluring world that Maya and Sylvia have created. A place where secret and lies, darkness and death thrive to weave a twisted world. One of domination, lust, greed, and brutality. When extinction threatens the vampiric race rumours abound of a relic that could just as well annihilate them or be their saviour. Unfortunately, there is only one person that knows of the relic and its secrets. Now she is on their radar she finds herself in a fight for her life. I devoured this short story in one sitting. I can’t wait to see what else they bring.

Home to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction Book 1) by Nicole Flockton is a beautiful and sweet contemporary romance. It is an emotional story and a great start to a new series. Being set in the Outback of Australia makes it easy for me to imagine, being from Australia myself. With bad relationships behind them and after being attacked they are both still facing the battle scars as they return home to their childhood small town. There they are reunited by tragedy, and they find the one thing they hoped for but didn’t think they would find. I’m eager to get my hands on the next book.

I love this author so when I saw this book it was a no-brainer that I would read it. It took me about an hour to read it and usually books that quick leave me needing so much more, but not this one. Miss Mannersly managed to fit in a complete story in so little pages. Nothing rushed, totally giving me everything I needed to understand these characters and even though it all happened so quickly between Willa and Brody, it still felt like a natural progression. I would have loved an epilogue, just to see how things progressed in the future, and did Brody ever get the emotion into the one line he was working so hard on? Seriously though, that really is the only thing I felt like I was missing.
Can not wait for more from this author. I love her writing style and I always feel completely satisfied when I finish her books.

What a great read!!! I felt excited reading it. Rowan is brilliant she is fiesty and outspoken and always accidently getting into trouble. Theo is the complete opposite to the Princess and from the enemy kingdom but somehow fate let’s her fall into his hands they are great together but will everyone else approve. It is a fun read and I can’t wait for the next book.

Short and Sweet sums up Caught by Him By Tammy Mannersly really well. It was a truly great read with fun loving characters you just want to be around. Brody and Willa were clearly meant for each other so when a couple of meddling pains in the butt try and get in the way of their new growing relationship, they will be tested to see how strong their new bond is. When you read it I am sure you will be just like me and you’ll be cheering this gorgeous couple on every step of the way. As an Aussie I loved reading a book set in Sydney!

Book Review: No Way Out, Mafia Elite book one Author: Amy McKinley FIVE STARS No Way Out by Amy McKinley is a Mafia Romance, but it is full of amazing strong powerful “Mafia Princesses” Liliana is the only daughter of Mafia boss Benito Brambilla. Benito is a controlling hateful man who never liked Lilana. Max/Matteo has been hired by Brambilla as a hitman. This book is full of awesome twists and turns. The strength that Liliana shows is just inspiring. Ms. McKinley is a great author and I can’t wait for book two in this series. KLH

Fight for it is the first book that I have read written by this author. This is a cute sports romance story. The characters are strong willed and well written I also like how the main characters play off their quirks. The description of the background and scenes made the story almost feel real.
When Professional boxer Ray “The Wrecker” Wilson when an injury forces him to retire, he returns to his hometown of Sunset Cove to buy the former infamous hotspot, The Kraken Bar & Grill. He is used to winning, both in and out of the ring. Alyssa Higgins is a real-estate agent and she is finally getting her life back together and staying low-key, is a good start after divorcing her abusive husband whose family runs the town. So, what happens when Ray and Alyssa run into each other? They both have demons can they overcome them together or will they walk away from each other? You need to read this story to find out but I do recommend it….

This book was a good read, the first few chapters suck you in and then it hits a bit of a plateau. The story is overall rounded to complete its POV however the plot seems a bit scattered. This story focuses much on life lessons by highlighting realistic points that keep you engrossed in the read. This book is the definition of don’t judge a book by its cover, the story is not so much Raven Woman’s Tavern even though that is a point imperative to the main characters story. If you are interested in unanswered questions or a cliff hanger then yes you will not be disappointed. This story was open and shut, easy and enticing I wish it had a bit more direction. What does the future hold for humankind? A story with adventurous danger with a realistic twist. This is a four-star read worth the thought of the possible future.

Caine is the second book in the Men of Syn series. Caine is a sexy, tattooed and pierced man on the run from a murder charge. Emery is a spoiled society princess who has not had to work a day in her life… until it all comes crashing down on her. Lucky for her, Caine is there to help her out.
I liked this book. There was less BDSM than I expected, considering it is partly set at Syn, but that didn’t detract from it. A few things in the sequence of events seemed a bit odd, but overall it was a good story.

A divided mind is a book about a young man’s spiral into mental illness. His psychotic break and how he and his family process his schizophrenia. This was a raw, well written story. It was family oriented so you were able to see all sides and how they handled it. This book makes you feel his frustration and his pleading to just make it stop. I felt so much for Branson and all he was going through. I thought the books subject matter was intriguing as someone who has first hand experience with mental illness but I think it would appeal to others as well. I look forward to reading book # 2!

This is a cute, fast read about two people who have always had feelings for each other but neither of them ever said or did anything about it. Alyssa is recently from the town’s “it boy”, Jared, and Ray is a professional boxer. The two cross paths when Ray decides to buy an old restaurant in their hometown. What seems like fate, is almost ruined when Jared tries to get between the two. Overall, I liked this book but I would’ve liked more details about Alyssa’s brother Rick’s accident and a little more drama at the end. I would’ve liked to see Jared have more consequences as well.

Hazard in Hawaii by Heather Silvio was such a fun read! I love finding new-to-me authors in genres I love.This mythical mystery was an easy page turner that kept me hooked. The main character, Sarah, goes to Hawaii to figure out how this strange illness is spreading and who and what are behind it. There were ups and downs that kept me entertained, on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!
