This book was amazing! I always enjoy reading teen and young adult books just as a way to destress and because I’m a sucker for a fantasy story. I adored the way the point of view alternated back and forth, and the connections between the two main characters that were multi-level. The way the characters were so unique made me just need to know how they were going to succeed at their goal! I really can’t wait to see what comes next! Also, Zoe’s tattoos and the differences between her and Nix in the way they grew up are really present and still beautiful. It makes so much sense in the way they approach each other and the world in general.

A great read if you are into Hallmark movie vibes. In it, investigative journalist Liberty meets tech company owner Sawyer during her search for a Secret Santa. Things I love: the realistic storyline, a relationship of two career-focused adults, the supporting characters – especially Liberty’s family. This is my first read by this author but I will definitely be back for similar books. This is a great one to add to your holiday romance lists.

I had never heard of this author before now and what a way to kickstart!
I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect because elf related books don’t really strike my fancy but I’m really liking dystopian relate books these days so I figured why not?!
This book was full of action that left me wanting to read nonstop!! I’m excited to know there’s more than one!!
My only complaint was that it was hard to get into in the beginning.

Book Review: Snowflakes and Stockings (book 4 in the Wilton Hills Christmas series)
Author: Marianne Rice
FIVE STARS
Ok so I have fallen in love with this series. I found them quite by accident and binge read them ALL in just a week. Quick reads and oh so much fun. The Johnson family is amazing and I love them all. Each book in this series can be read as a stand alone, however you will NOT be disappointed if you read them all in order. Each book builds on the last, but like I said, you can read just one. If you do read book 4 before any other the others, you will get details about the other characters from previous books.
With that all being said. Liberty and Sawyer, CHEMISTRY from the onset. It was a fantastic story and oh my, I didn’t want it to end!

This is a great read for middle school age children or to read to younger children. Kids will get lost in the story and learn about biology and ecology along the way. I love that the author included diagrams, a glossary and an appendix so that kids can expand on what they read in the book. I can see this book creating future marine biologists. I think the majority of children will enjoy this story.

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, book 1) by Amy McKinley – Review by Colleen Noyes

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, #1)No Way Out by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This author has done it once again. I love how each book I’ve read by her not only gets better but she does a great job of balancing just the right amount of action, suspense, and romance. No way out is the first book in the mafia elite series and is focused on Max and Liliana. The circumstances that bring them together are not ideal in any way but told through each POV you’re able to grasp how each one feels. I love that the author does a great job of giving each character a tragedy that motivates their part of the story. You can tell that each character including the sub characters are a little broken but the journey to the end is well worth all that makes you feel distraught. Max is what I like to call a man’s man meaning he’s tough, he is strong, and I view him as the kind of man you could just feel safe in his arms. Liliana is a strong female character who is very no nonsense. She knows what she wants and is willing to do whatever it takes even if it means her own peril. This author does not tell a story with a ton of fluff or extra unneeded hoopla which makes it 100 times easier to get into the story and the characters which I greatly appreciate. If you enjoy a good romantic suspense book, then you will want to pick this up immediately. The characters are strong, the action is immense, and you will immediately feel as if you’ve been transported into the story. I’m looking forward to book 2 in this series.

I absolutely loved everything about this book. A perfect fit of this genre. The sweet building romance, the large loving family and holiday traditions both open and secret. Sawyer and Liberty had great chemistry. How could you not fall in love with Sawyer? He is thoughtful considerations and ability to assimilate into the Johnson family despite his tragic history was beautifully crafted. I am so glad with how the ending transpired. I definitely will be reading the other books in this series when it gets closer to December. This book was a cozy, holiday romance perfect for those that love this genre.

5 stars!

As an adult I really enjoyed this children’s book. The story of the whales in distress and the other sea animals signaling for help and working together was heartwarming. It was sweet that every whale had their own name. Then end is nice for both children and adults, it breaks down what each term means, and then give a brief description of that term. I didn’t know what a Fluke was, now I do and although it seems like something I may never use, it is nice knowledge to have, it is something I won’t forget. Then the book goes into describing the different sea animals and other sea terms such as the coral reef, mangroves, Whitetip shark etc. It is nice to see that some countries are trying to do their part in keeping things like mangroves alive and thriving. It is also sad to learn of the Virus that effects marine mammals, and honestly I had no idea it even existed. Overall would recommend for any family to read together, this book has a wealth of knowledge and is very easy and fun to read.

Ashes of Aldyr (The Obscured Thorne Trilogy Book 1)Ashes of Aldyr by Russell Archey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ashes of Aldyr is the first book in the Obscured Throne Trilogy. There is everything you could ask for in this book! Elves, dwarves, humans, etc. When I read the synopsis, I was expecting a Lord of the Rings vibe to it. It was not what I expected but it did not disappoint! Even after reading the into chapter I was hooked!

I love reading fantasy but not so much horror. This book has both elements but was written in such a way that I loved everything even the horror aspect.

Russell Archey has a way with words. The book was very descriptive and well written. I could not put the book down! The way the author described the evil, you’d think they were evil as well. I found my heart was beating harder and I could not stop reading. I cannot wait to read the other two books in the trilogy! Highly recommend!

Mr. Russell Archey is a new author to my growing list of favorite authors. This book is a fantasy book but it is on the dark side of fantasy. The attention to detail really makes this book stand out for me. It has all types of characters in the story. There are magical trees, elf-kind, humans, and some nasty god-like characters. I felt like I was one of the characters in the book. The adventure that I went on was one of dark arts. It held my attention with each passing page. The storyline has many levels throughout the book but Mr. Archey does an amazing job of keeping it all straight for me.I highly recommend reading this book as it is an amazing journey. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

I’ve been excited for this book so let’s dive into another of Manda’s world. Finding out about Red’s past is very eye opening. Learning from his POV and what led him to the club brings him to a new light. He’s been through so much that man. Learning the background of the clubs is extremely interesting especially as we know a canny bit about the Tuscon Chapter of the Santan Devils. I didn’t realise how Red had it so much and how quick things changed for him I can’t wait to read the rest of. A bit of laughter but so many tears brought by this book.

Profound and teaches

This book teaches while going on a nice jounery with Dolphins, Sharks, Dolphin riders who happen to be protectors and plenty of slim chances for the Dolphins where it gets to be turns around each time. In the glossary a slew of knowledge is given about the ocean and the words used through out the book. Even though this book is fictional is it knowledgeable and teaches children words and verbiage while having them trek on a perilous journey.

I loved it and recommend it fully.

I enjoyed this romance story. I found this story to be fast paced and well written. It is a story of a fairytale and the challenges of starting over. The characters pulled me into the story from the beginning. They are connectable and kept the story engaging. This is a story about Harper and Lincoln. What happens one steamy night is more than Harper was expecting. She is having a baby and is determined to live her dreams. He has just finished a movie and has come home. What he did not expect is to find his one night stand pregnant. What will happen next, I highly recommend reading this book. It has great plot and character growth throughout the story. This is a great story that I truly enjoyed. It is worth the pick up.

“Snowflakes & Stockings” by Marianne Rice is a holiday romance novel. Liberty is an investigative reporter, who has been assigned to discovering Maine’s Secret Santa. Her search leads her to Sawyer, co-owner of a very successful tech company. There is immediate attraction, and she is soon introducing him to her large family. I loved the very relatable family gathering scenes in this book. The sibling banter and teasing warmed my heart, and gave us a better glimpse of Liberty and Sawyer’s personalities. This is the fourth book in the Wilton Hills Christmas series, but can be read as a stand-alone book.

This is a beautiful festive romance. I really loved how the author creates the scene and her descriptions and character building is amazing. Both our character are completely loveable and both from different ends of the track.

Liberty is a journalist who is career focused and driven to succeed. With her career as a journalist and her family she doesn’t have time for dating. She’s now on the hunt for the secret Santa Claus that keeps making huge donations. When she goes to interview one suspected person she doesn’t expect to feel the spark and connection between them.

Sawyer is a successful businessman. His family life is non existant so he throws himself into his work. Dating is never on his agenda until he meet Liberty and all he wants to do is make room for her in his life.

As their connection grows and they get closer they both make sacrifices with their work. Will Liberty make the ultimate sacrifice of not running her breaking story for the sake of being with the man she love or will her feelings for Sawyer not matter in her pursuit for the big break.

Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas, #4)Snowflakes & Stockings by Marianne Rice
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m such a mess when it comes to sappy, snow covered love stories, such as this one. I am one of those girls that sits down with Hallmark movies on repeat, binge watch sappy chick flicks, and soak up any fast-paced romance novel I can get my hands on. Snowflakes and Stockings by Marianne Rice falls into this category, and I read this book from start to finish this past Saturday. It was rainy (unfortunately not snowy,) and gloomy and I sat by my fire and read. I laughed, teared up, and felt my heart warm throughout Liberty and Sawyers relationship, along with their respective families.

I completely understand the craziness that big families bring to the holidays, and was swept up in all the feels, and memories that this novel brought forward. Because of COVID-19, our family hasn’t had the chance to have a big gathering in what seems like forever, and it was nice to live vicariously through the Johnson family. I will certainly be picking up the rest of the Wilton Hills Christmas Book series, and am sure will be reading lots more by Ms. Rice. Thank you for this Hallmark worthy read, have recommended already!
