Scarlet Princess (Lochlann Feuds Book 1) by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison – Review by Alexandra Leith

Scarlet Princess (The Lochlann Feuds, #1)Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

READ THIS BOOK! I promise you will not be disappointed. I did not realize that this book takes place after another called the Lochlann Treaty until I finished the book, but it can be read as a standalone. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything except for what the kingdom of Lochlann where the main character is from was like since this entire story took place in Socair the enemy kingdom.

Rowan is the outspoken and lively princess of Lochlann. When a little adventure with her cousin turns her into a captive she has to do whatever it takes to survive in a kingdom where everyone hates her on principle. Then in walks Lord Theodore her captor and everything quickly becomes confusing when she starts having feelings for him. However, Rowan’s fate is not just up to Lord Theodore. There is a summit of clans who will decide what is to happen to her.

Rowan is one of my favorite lead characters. She is bold, outspoken, strong and adventurous. She is stuck in a land where women are ornamental only and her red hair is considered a curse. Yet she doesn’t let any of that keep her down or change who she is.

This book ends on a huge cliffhanger, but don’t worry book 2 will be out in a couple of weeks!
