Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer (Curvy Ever After Book 2) by Stephanie Harrell – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer (Curvy Ever After, #2)Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer by Stephanie Harrell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer is book two in the Curvy Ever After series by Stephanie Harrell. This is a romance with a fairy tale twist. This story intrigued, from the creative and eye catching series name, to the blurb. Another exciting element was the newness of this author. I had never sampled her work. But I was ready do jump in, no questions asked. These characters were believable, endearing and entertaining. A chance meeting, an amazing weekend together and the cherry on top was a life changing surprise. Intriguing right?? It sucked me in, hook, line and sinker. Harper and Lincoln are complete opposites, but the animal attraction that exists between them is extremely arousing and sets the heart fluttering and the pulse racing. I completely devoured this story. Loved the way the author portrayed each characters. Loved learning all their little quirks and what makes them tick. Sexy and soothing to the soul. A real page turner. A fantastic escape. 5 stars.

Exciting elemental fantasy
Wow! This book just blew me away. I was not expecting to get so captivated by the world, magic and adventure. So many hidden twists had me swiftly turning the pages to find out more. I’m left a little bit in limbo at the end and eagerly await book 2 to find out where everything ends up for Talise and Aaden. A brilliant fantasy world that is a must-read for all fantasy lovers.

I love novels with another world that I get to explore, and this world did not disappoint. I also loved Talise. With a great power comes great responsibility, and we see that with Talise. She carries a lot on her shoulders. Lots of great characters and great plot. I’m hoping we can read some more books in this world!

A Spell Of Rowans
By: Byrd Nash
Genre: Supernatural & Mystery/Crime
Pages: 308

**Trigger warning**

This book contains a traumatic twist.
Now this is the book I think I may have been waiting for.
This gave me evil Charmed Ones vibes.
Death always has a chance of bringing up family secrets but how deep have they been buried.
This is an intense read in the best way.
The Rowans give a story that starts from page one and no I did not put it down.
This is series worthy because I want back stories ad I need more.
Nash has did this story justice with the magic and the crimes, the trauma that made me stop for a second and cry.
This is a favorite of 2021 Five stars all the way around.

The Elements of the Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria Book 1) by Kay L. Moody – Review by Lauren West

The Elements of the Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria, #1)The Elements of the Crown by Kay L. Moody
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kay L. Moody has given us a story that is original and amazing. The characters are so well connected and personalized that you can feel the life and depth that each brings to the story. You can clearly imagine the vivid imagery of this world created and picture each scene as it takes place.

Talise is like no character I have experienced before. A citizen of Storm she is given the opportunity to leave the criminal planet and attend the academy as a means to better her life. Having the ability to yield all 4 elements she is already at the top of the game and on her way to her dream profession of a Master Shaper.
Aaden who is a her rival and biggest competitor shares a complicated history with Talise, but also one where hate rivals their love. A very unpredictable and exciting piece of Talise’s puzzle that you leads to more twists and turns. This fantasy book will not allow you to stop reading until the end, and every moment is worth it.

Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas, #4)Snowflakes & Stockings by Marianne Rice
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the perfect romance to put you in a holiday frame of mind. I could almost smell cinnamon sticks and pumpkin pie, see lights twinkling and snow falling. Liberty and Sawyer appear to be complete opposites on the surface but they quickly feel a connection between them that grows by the minute. It was pure magic seeing the way that Sawyer lit up as he interacted with Liberty and her family as they enjoyed holiday festivities together. There is also such a beautiful twist in this story that really lets you peek into the true heart of Sawyer and see why these two are absolutely meant to be together!

FIVE STARS
Luke is a divorced dad, Nadia is a female player. She is in it all for the fun and no strings attached hookup. Luke is more down to earth and responsible.
There is a bit of history between these two. Will Luke get to follow his heart this time or will Nadia send him packing after Luke helps her with her fixer-upper home.
Great characters and development.
Spoilsport is the 2nd book in the Pierce brothers series. There are a total of four. They can all be read as stand alones or you can read them back to back.. So far Tom and Luke are HOT HOT HOT.

There are certain types of books I reach for when I’m in a reading slump. Books that have well loved tropes, but without them being overwhelmingly… tropey… and cliche. Comfort reads. This is one of those books I could see myself picking up again. It’s got a little enemies to lovers, hate to love type feeling. But the banter was great, the steam was steamy and the ending made me happy!

This is such a cute story. Tom is proving that are really “NICE” guys out there. Chelsea has such low self esteem that it is really hard to read in places, but she does bounce back and becomes a bit more confident before the end. Way to go Tom on that one. This story is really good. The friends become lovers or brothers best friend genre.
I saw in the blurb about this book that Mr. Nice Guy is actually the first in a series about four brothers. I am definitly going to be checking all of them out. I hope they are all as good as Tom and Chelsea’s story.

SpoilSport (Pierce Brothers Book 2)

This was a fun, easy story of romance. Keep in mind I end this as a stand alone although it is book two of a series.
I found a new book beau Luke who is deeply described as a green eyed beauty.
Luke hopes that a feisty and independent Nadia will love him although she I hard to get.
The plot made it easy to keep reading and Williams does a great way of making you fall in love with her characters.
It all starts with a fixer upper and I as hooked from the first page.
If your looking to get out of a reading slump read this series.
Four stars and I am interested in book three.

This story is a fairy tale romance with a mafia twist. The sparks between Sofia and Enzo are off the charts! They’ve loved each other since they were kids but so many obstacles keep standing in their way. The way that Enzo looks at Sofia and the way that he cherishes her is everything! This book is full of romance, danger, heat and betrayal. It will keep you on your toes and draw you in from the very first page to the last and the ending is absolute perfection! I am an Amy McKinley fan for life after reading the first two Mafia Elite books and I am eagerly looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

LUKE (DEFAULT DISTRACTION #4) by A. S. Roberts – Review by Angela Packard

Luke (Default Distraction #4)Luke by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first of the Default Distraction books I have read but am adding the first three books to my TBR list so I can get to know all the guys in the band better.
This is Luke and Nikki’s story. He is a single father to a precious four-year-old daughter. Their back story is very moving but am so proud of Luke and the band for being family to each other and rising above what life has thrown at them.
Nikki is a nanny, who had a teenage crush on Luke, who is in her favorite band. When she interviews to be a nanny for his daughter, she has a hard time not being that fangirl. Can Nikki be perfect for Luke and his daughter? Or will she stay just the nanny?
I really enjoyed this book and all the characters and how they connect to each other. I find that I love a good book that shows people having each other’s backs through thick and thin.

I love books like this one. I read the first one and fell in love with the Pierce Brothers. This story was no different. I really loved Luke and the way he go Nadia to turn around. Nadia bothered me in the first story as Chelsea’s best friend. This story I got to understand her a little more which made her come around for me a little more. If I didn’t enjoy the story and Luke as much as I did, I would have probably only given it 4 stars since it really took a lot for me to get around Nadia’s attitude and almost immaturity. The back and forth between Nadia and Luke was fun to see unfold as renovations went on. I hope that there will be more in this series with the other Pierce brothers.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really liked this story. Mating Call is book one in the Long Claw Pride series. The author, Brooke May, really has an amazing talent at creating this new world of shifters. One note I would have appreciated was a little more background on why they are Mountain Lion shifters. What made them that way and what is the deeper story?
That note aside the story line itself is really well developed, with characters that are well fleshed out and make you care about them. I thoroughly enjoyed Cheyanne & Lane’s story and look forward to reading more about the rest of the family.
This wonderful HEA tale will keep you engaged and leave you with a smile.

So I absolutely love, love Christmas. It is by far my fave holiday. So with that being said I most certainly love stories that take place on or near Christmas Time. Also, I know I may have read out of order, since it is book four in it’s series. But it very well may be read as a standalone. This is a first time read by the author for me as well. It will NOT be my last either! Loved Snowflakes & Stockings sooo much. Once started reading could not set aside until I read it ALL! It was truly such a sweet heartwarming, small town romance. Another of my faves! Now I sooo have to go back and read books one through three!!

this is a very short story. I normally won’t read anything under 200 pages but I figured I’d mix things up. I loved this story and wish this would become a full novel as well as a series, Its that good. I was so sad when it ended. Check InCheck In by Debra Parmley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is the second installment in the Bobbins Sisters Series from Debra Parmley, Check In, and I would have to say I really was excited to get my hands on it after reading the first one. You don’t have to have read that one to enjoy this one, however we do meet our main character in the first book and have some background there so that may enrich your reading since this is a fast and brief read. I would have to say this is a struggle for me again with this book. I just wanted a bit more again. It had so much going for it and I loved some parts but every time I got going and invested it just felt like I was slighted and cut off. I would have invested the time and read more if I was given it so I hope that the shorter novels aren’t to appeal to the reader and keep them interested. I felt as if this story could have really just exploded in some places and become a huge thriller. I do look forward to seeing what book three will bring us and the hope that we will get a bit longer of a read in that one. I am looking forward to spending the dime with the Bobbins sisters.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoy every book that I have read of Ms. Moody’s so far, but I have to say this collection of novellas, The Elements of the Crown, has to be my favorite I have read of hers so far. This has just about everything you could want in a fantasy and adventure read. I was constantly on the edge of my seat and found myself struggling to put this sucker down to get anything done in the adulting world. I mean this is a sign of a good book though so what could be wrong with that?!? I loved how this book had so many different layers to it. Even though it is labeled as a young adult genre novel, I thoroughly enjoyed it and loved it as a middle aged woman and feel like it had a wonderful balance of romance, suspense, adventure, intrigue, and more, all on a level that could be enjoyed at many ages. I am excited to see what comes next in this series and whatever collection may come next from Kay L. Moody!

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, #2)Blood Oath by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blood Oath is the second book in the Mafia Elite series centering on Sofia and Enzo’s story in the thrilling world of the Italian American mafia. Sofia and Enzo grew up together, their relationship becoming strained after a few life-altering events that eventually put a rift between them. However, neither can deny the chemistry and unshakable bonds that link not only their day-to-day lives but hearts. Soon their shared past comes back to haunt them and secrets are revealed. Blood Oath filled in some of the few questions I had after reading the first book (No Way Out) and I really enjoyed learning more about the lives these characters live and the rules they live by. Blood Oath is the second book in the Mafia Elite series though you can read any of the books in the Mafia Elite series as standalones.
