I absolutely enjoyed this book! I loved the chemistry between the two characters from the moment they met until the end. While I guessed parts of the story (which annoyed me yet I understand that Lauren did not), I found it really well put together. I felt at times that some of the immature/mature behaviors between Mark and Lauren got in the way of the flow even though I understand as a reader why they were built that way. I appreciated the arc their relationship had and I liked the way their outside friendships/relationships played a part in their development, too. I would definitely read other books by this author.

What a great read! While this book is the second in the series it works as a standalone. The plot is movie material and it flows well! Characters were well thought out too! This was a great book, easy to read, couldn’t put down kind of page turner! The author did a stellar job with this one and I will be sure to look for more from her!! Ok let me start by saying I know I know how could this possibly be my first ever MC book? However, I’m not sure I could have picked a better one to start with. The Satan’s Devil’s are a biker club based out of the USA and I found myself completely flabbergasted, enthralled, and on the edge of my seat.
The main female character Sophie has been put in a precarious situation that has her running for her life. Not knowing just how much danger she is in she gets mixed up being under the protection of the club and all that comes with it, when a man named Horse can’t help but want to take care of her.
Sophie has no idea what she has gotten herself into and while obviously cautious she doesn’t seem to have much choice given her current circumstances. Once she is taken to the clubhouse she sees things she never imagined. She is a woman who has lost a part of herself and is ready to give up, but when she meets the VP Wraith she begins to let her mind wonder what if.
Wraith is by all accounts a mans man who has no desire to be with just one woman or have an “ol lady” not to mention the President Drummer has already said hands off to everyone. You see Sophie’s wall start to come down but go right back up and your heart will break.
There are so many intricate layers to this story and the characters. I learned more than I ever knew possible but what I found moved the most by was that the author is one of best storytellers I have ever read. You feel like you are right there watching everything play out. We connected to each character in one way or another whether it be love, admiration, or immense dislike.
This story had tough storylines, it has suspense, love, disgust, passionate scenes and at the heart of it is family. You feel the loss, the wins, the anger, and will cry at least twice. This story grabbed me and wouldn’t let me go no matter what. I can’t wait to read every single book by this author. If you like action packed books with mayhem, love, and powerful people you will enjoy this book.

All fantasy and magic lovers need to read The Elements of the Crown by Kay L. Moody as soon as they are able to! The first book in the Elements of Kamdaria, the book follows the story of Talise and Aaden, combining the four novellas Ice Crown, Wind Crown, Dust Crown and Fire Crown into one, making for a long story but by the end you will be needing more!
Talise comes from the outer ring of Kamdaria, the Storm and her only way out is to become master shaper after her ten years of training at the academy. I loved the similarities to Avatar: The Last Airbender, Harry Potter and The Hunger Games, so fans of any of these need to read this book! I am excited to see what follows in the coming books, which I plan to read as soon as I am able to!

The Groomsman by Marina Hanna was definitely a 5* read. I loved it from the very first chapter. Adam and Jules got married and of course Lauren and Mark were best friends of the couple and both in the bridal party. Mark and Lauren hooked up the night of the wedding and had one of the best nights ever. A one night stand can never be that when they are both good friends of the couple. When Mark and Lauren see eachother again at a bar, they cannot help the attraction. They do not talk to eachother but Jules talks to Mark and he says he doesn’t know why he hasn’t called Lauren but he plans to rectify that soon and he does. Mark and Lauren have fun together for a bit but that’s all it should be…..fun!! Nothing more. Can they keep it at just fun or will one of them get hurt? What about a crazy secret that Mark has managed to keep from Lauren? This book was definitely a great read and I hope to find more reads like this one from this author soon.

What a delightful whimsical story! Nix, the Crown Prince, has to go into hiding after watching his parents slaughter at a young age. Zoe, an elf, is the daughter of the traitors who killed Nix’s parents so they could rule the Twilight Realm. Little did these two realize how much they need each other until their paths cross. This was such a great, easy read. I cannot wait to read the second book.

Born to Fall is the second book in the Can’t Resist You series by Brittany Anne. I freaking loved this book just as much as the first one and I highly recommend reading the first book if you haven’t already. I’m a huge have to read a series in order kind of gal. This author continues to amaze me with her attention to detail and her ability to make you feel as if you are right there with the characters. This is a fast paced story that once you start reading you won’t want to put down till you finish or pass out like I did. I had to know what was going to happen next. This is Derek and Julia’s story ,he has always dreamed of saving the world so that drove him to join the Resistance. She wants no part but that changes once she meets Derek. When faced with a situation can she trust him enough and can she finally move on from her past? I highly recommend reading this to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Stranded by Feather Chelle is the first volume of the Cetacea Chronicles. It is a book that teaches while sharing an underwater adventure about the creatures within the story. It is an enjoyable book for young readers. The writing is descriptive to give the reader a good visual of what each creature looks like as well as the location they are at. Cherish and her Pilot Whale family suffer from both a mysterious illness and shark attack. When it seems like there is no escape the Dolphin Riders save the day? I could not stop reading once I started. After reading this story I wish magical island of Cetacea was real and that I could visit it!
Feather did a wonderful job of writing a fictional work that also teaches along the way. I would definitely recommend this book to young readers as well as parents and teachers.
Shadows of Doubt (A Crawford Mystery) by Merissa Racine is the second installment in the Crawford Mystery series. In book 2 we continue to follow Lauren, court stenographer, further into her new job as she now works for her ex-husband who takes his place as judge. This time, when her town of Crawford is faced with a murder, she must either do what she is being paid to do, or go with her gut instincts. I totally appreciate the portrayal of strong and smart women protagonists, and Lauren has quickly become a favorite of mine. I started out with little knowledge of legal matters, but had no problems becoming engrossed in this story from book 1. The author is knowledgeable of the legal process, but writes it in a way that is engrossing, as well as believable. I fully recommend this series and hope there is a book 3!

A bachelor and a romantic met at their best friend’s wedding, we all know where this is going. The Groomsman by Marina Hanna is a sexy one night that turned into some more than was expected. Mark and Lauren sure know how to bring the spice and at the same time keep you turning the pages.
As this was only my second book by this author, I was not surprised by how much I liked these characters and the fun drama filled writing.

Luke Pierce is a divorced father who takes life seriously. He’s the glue that holds his family together and if you ask anyone, they’d tell you he’s responsible. But being responsible didn’t stop Luke from falling hard for Nadia in just one night.
Now Nadia is agreeing to hire Luke to help save the house she bought all while Luke has to keep his heart safe from her. They’re spending more time together, he’s seeing her let loose and she’s learning that sometimes you may not be able to hold back…no matter how closed off your heart may be.
Spoilsport is book two in the Pierce Brothers series. It takes place in Australia and Belinda Williams is straight up about it in the introduction to the book. The book uses UK English so there are some discrepancies towards US English but they’re common and easy to forget while reading.
Nadia is a riot! She’s all sass and fun with a little obsession with shoes. Sometimes it’s hard for the people around her to see who she is and she can seem a little mean if you’re not careful. She’s all about balancing work and play but she’s cautious about stepping too far into relationship territory. She’s opposite Luke in nearly every aspect. He’s serious and responsible and has a lot to deal with. But recently, Luke has been told he needs to have fun.
Spoilsport follows Nadia and Luke in the quest to restore her home, have fun, and try not to fall in love. It’s full of laughter, emotion, and you might find it gets a little steamy.
This was a fun, quick read, and I have one question. Where can I find me a Pierce brother?

This book was such a quick read – I was more than halfway done before I realized it. Though I hoped for more depth with previous characters, there was enough reference to the first book to connect the stories. I would have liked more detailed scenes, especially from the bank, but it was still a good book. Len is someone I would like to see further development of in any future books, and hopefully a deeper dive into the family dynamic.

Rock me to the Top is an easy-to-read romance set in the backdrop of the electric beats and growling vocals of the rock n’ roll world. I enjoyed this aspect, and liked reading the details of live concerts and life on the tour bus. Joe and Melody are childhood friends, and have the solid background of so many memories together. I found their friends-to-lovers romance to be a bit abrupt; I would have liked a more detailed build-up. I liked the character of Joe, and found his feelings and motivations to be well drawn out and believable. Melody slightly less so; I wanted to know more from her perspective about what her personality was like beyond her feelings for Joe Grace. It took awhile for her to reveal her character and what matters to her. Still, this is a fun romance with a good theme and the supporting characters round the read out nicely.

I did not know the life of a stenographer till now. Lauren is now freelancing with her stenographer position. She was doing a deposition for a Lady who ended up dying the next night. Now she is back in the court scene since the person who took her position had a baby and on maternity leave. Lauren is back to investigating while doing her job to help figure out what happened to her. During all of this, she still is haunted from what happened in the first book, and unraveling secrets she didn’t think would ever come out. She gains friends with a little drama while keeping her family relationships close. This is a great mystery series.

A great Christmas romance story. Proper got me in the winter Christmasy mood. Liberty has her eyes set on a big promotion but does she have time to juggle work and a relationship.? Sawyer and Liberty are great together and they have smoking hot chemistry.
Silent Gavel (A Crawford Mystery Book 1) by Merissa Racine is the page-turning opener of a two book courtroom series. Lauren Besoner is a courtroom stenographer and, after moving to Wyoming, finds herself in the middle of a murder that she did not commit. This author is a court stenographer in real life (also in Wyoming!), so the writing is reliable as well as compelling. The characters in this book are well-written, and it is easy to imagine being in the middle of this story. The story makes you think and keeps you on the edge of your seat! I thoroughly enjoyed following Lauren’s story and cannot wait to dig into book 2!

This book took me for a mystery ride! Lauren Besoner is a stenographer in Crawford County and hasn’t been working there for that long yet. She went to pick up her Judge to a hearing in a different town to find her dead in her home. From there, she’s first suspect since she was the one to find her, but she goes to to prove her innocence to find all the facts. This includes her relationship with her ex-husband, keeping up with her job, and trying not to be the next victim. This was a great mystery to read and went straight to the second book when I was done.

Rock Me To the Top was a phenomenal read. I love how you could feel the push and pull of the characters emotions. The love of 2 best friends and whether or not they should take it further. Victoria Zak did a phenomenal job illustrating the story, how their relationship grows, with her words. If I didn’t have 3 kids to take care of I would never have put the book down. It definitely had me in all my feels. I honestly can’t wait to read book 2.

This is the second book in the series by Amy McKinley. I enjoyed reading this book. Enzo and Sofia are chilldh friends whoms feelings for each other stayed strong throughout the years.

Cross Country Christmas by Laurie Lewis is such a heartwarming story that pulls you in and holds you captive. It is such a well written story that I couldn’t help but love. Reeve and CC were great characters. They fit so well together and had a really strong connection. I have really enjoyed all the books that I have read by this author and this one is no exception. It had the right amount of holiday spirit and romance to make it an interesting but easy read. This book is definitely worth reading.

I love military romances probably because I have been connected to the military in very personal ways my whole life. It takes a deep understanding when service members come home sometimes with injuries that are invisible like PTSD. The author does a brilliant job depicting Nash’s military persona from being physically injured and the issues when it comes to dealing with the VA hospital. Betsy is downright terrified when she meets Nash for the first time. Not only is he big and intimidating but is also missing an eye. The first time they meet he is not pleasant; he is angry and snaps at her over books. However, he changes her perspective of him when he waits to make sure she gets to her car okay as she is the last to leave for the night. He cleans off her windshield of ice, and then after noticing her flat tire offers to drive her home. From there he continues to attempt to woo her but feels shut down even though it’s unintentional because her sister comes into town. They have many battles as Nash feels like Leeann her sister is just as drama filled as his ex-fiancée was. But when trouble comes calling in Leeann’s campus stalker Nash fulfills his protector roll ensuring both sisters are taken care of. Can Nash make Betsy see him as not so scary? This is a must-read book if you like military romances. It will make you laugh, make you cry, and even make you lose some sleep for wanting to know what comes next.

Book Review: Cross-Country Chrismas Author: Laurie Lewis Five Stars Sweet Christian, cowboy romance. The magic and charm begin from the very start. This book was hard for me to put down. I managed to read it fairly quickly even though I have had a bunch of personal life stuff take me away from reading for a little while. The story between CC and Reese is built on trust and almost destroyed because of broken trust. But more importantly they find they have to get back to their “true selves” before they can work on them as a couple. The family relationships and their spiritual relationships are wonderful fillers in this story. The way Reese and CC connect spiritually in chapter 14 was really sweet and meaningful. I am assuming that since Reese is the oldest of eight brothers that the Silver-Buckle Brides Romance may continue with the other Brockbank brothers. klh

Cross Country Christmas is a sweet, clean romance from Laurie Lewis. This was the second time that I had read any of this author’s work and I have enjoyed both books so far, I would definitely read more in the future. The author does a great job of pulling you into the story with a dramatic first chapter that grabs your attention and makes you want to read more. I really enjoyed reading Reese and CC’s story. The story is quite angsty (is that a real word?) as both struggle to keep their budding relationship/ attraction chaste and not progress to quickly. It was actually nice for a change for the two main characters not to jump into bed with each other straight away. I really enjoyed reading their progression from strangers to friends to realising their feelings for one another. As well as Cc and Reese I loved the main secondary characters of Emmie and Carlos. They both add so much to the story and I really enjoyed reading about their relationship too. Cross Country Christmas is a really great, heartwarming romance that is just ideal for cosying up on the couch with a hot drink to lose yourself in.

Book Review: The Groomsman Author: Marina Hanna Four Stars Lauren a bridesmaid and Mark a groomsman. How cliche right? Well this story is your typical story about a bridesmaid and groomsman hooking up and then that was supposed to be the end, correct? But no, Lauren and Mark find themselves drawn to each other and even though they eventually start “dating” Mark often goes silent or has to cancel dates due to “other issues” these issues he never explains to Lauren just says that something comes up. Lauren, starts suspecting there is another woman. Mark never confirms nor denies any accusations. In this story there is a HUGE lack of communication between the two of them. Mark is wanting to keep his personal life to himself and not include Lauren but Lauren is demanding more due to his cancelling on her and ghosting her. I was not thrilled with the lack of trust and communication but in the end I think the author gave them enough of a make up session that we find the two of them can make things work. Rose is a sweetheart and you all will see what a part she plays in this story. KLH

What a great Christmas Book. CC Resse. This is an amazing book by Lauire Lewis. Can two people do broken love each other can they trust each other. Resse is a man I really connected to. CC I enjoyed her character and the interaction between these two people. I love CC bubbly personality and her way to cheers up. Cross Country Christmas really takes in the sport of Christmas with healing, love, warmth, forgiveness. Furthermore its witty humor, real life situations made me totally invested in the story.

The Groomsman is a great contemporary romance novel by Marina Hanna. This is only the second time that I have read any of this author’s work and I have really enjoyed both books so would not hesitate to read more of her work. Would it be a real wedding if the bridesmaid and the groomsman didn’t hook-up? Well, Lauren and Mark just had to keep up with wedding traditions as it was the right thing to do. But did they guess that this would be the start of a turbulent ‘relationship’. Yes I put relationship in inverted commas as I’m unsure if this is the right word to describe what happened to Lauren and Mark after their wedding hook-up. I really enjoyed reading Lauren and Mark’s story although I have to admit that there were many occasions where I wanted to give Mark a good slap and tell him to get his act together. He does redeem himself by the end but he really deserved a good slap a few times. This story flows really well and the storyline is engaging and pulls you in from the very beginning and keeps you entertained right up to the end. The characters are great, not just Lauren and Mark. There is a good cast of secondary characters who add so much to the story, especially Rose who I really adored. I would definitely recommend reading The Groomsman.

This was a wonderful Christmas romance which had me hooked from page one. CC Cippolini takes a temp job to drive a custom car, a Tesla, across the country but following a crash into a cattle fence finds her plans changing, just over Christmas. CC finds herself at the home of the owner of the now broken cattle fence, rancher Reese Brockbank. Reese is happy for CC to stay with him but he’s determined to keep his distance and not let another women upset his life. However, when CC begins to decorate his sterile house for Christmas and turns it into a real home with her warmth and joy, Reese finds his defences are being worn down. But, CC’s story doesn’t quite add up and as Reese questions her, CC puts up her own defences. Both of them are still harbouring pain from their pasts but will they take a chance at love with each other. I loved CC and Reese as they are likeable and relatable characters who just have instant chemistry. The descriptive narrative brought both the characters and the setting to life and I felt engaged with the story. The storyline had me happily turning the pages and the plot twists and turns kept me gripped until the end. I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading this festive novel, and I was cheering the couple on hoping they would get their HEA.

CC Cippolini gets an opportunity to leave her past behind to drive across country to deliver a luxury vehicle interstate. Should be easy. Right? Well things don’t exactly go to plan and she ends up on a bit of a detour of sorts. Reese Brockbank’s world is about to get a serious shake up when CC comes crashing into his life. He has trust issues that run deep, but circumstances see him taking her into his home, and it’s here that things really get interesting! With both having past pain to deal with, will they risk a chance on love? The story is definitely worth the read to find out! Cross-Country Christmas is the first book in the Silver Buckle Brides series by Laurie Lewis. I have read quite a few of Ms. Lewis’s books now and there isn’t one that I haven’t loved. This is a wonderful holiday romance- with Christmas and cowboys, Ms. Laurie provided two favourites in one book. There is definitely more to this story though- there is an emotional element to the story with the characters dealing with their own pain which adds drama to the story, but there are lighter aspects too- witty/ funny banter, sweet scenes, and heartwarming moment; as well as family, friendship, second chances, new beginnings, spirituality, and hope. I can really see this making a captivating Christmas movie- I’d love to see it come to life on the big screen!! Looking forward to the next book from Ms. Lewis! Happy Reading!

The Groomsman is the second book in the series, but it is a standalone romance. Mark and Lauren have met in passing previously, but don’t spend any real amount of time together until their friends’ wedding where they are both in the wedding party. The chemistry between the two is instant. At first neither are looking for more than a hookup, but that changes.
Mark does not have a lot of time for a relationship, and makes this clear. He did annoy me a bit with being wishy washy and giving mixed signals, but I think he was confused himself. Lauren has been burned in the past, but Mark starts to get through her walls, even with the wishy-washiness and things in his life he won’t talk about.
This book is well-written and the characters have chemistry. The reason I gave it only 3 stars is I had trouble connecting with the characters and therefore had trouble connecting with the story. It is totally a me problem, so give this book a chance anyway!
