This book definitely opened my eyes up to bring more self care into my life. I do not have to feel guilty or selfish for taking time for myself and to go to the gym. The book could have been a little shorter but it gave a lot of examples where and how to improve myself even if it is just a little change here and there. I dont feel the need to be in uncomfortable situations. If you want a quick read about changing the little things in life to make for a bigger and happier picture then definitely pick this book up.

What a thrilling read! I love suspenseful stories and this one had me holding my breath while my heart raced! Unpredictable twists and turns had me guessing right until the very last page. Some stories are easy to predict but not this one. This is the dark kind of story that leaves you pondering long after the book has closed. I found myself questioning not only the book but myself and others around me as well. There are very few books that have shaken me the way this one did. Everyone should read this book!

The author of this book has created a story about magic, adventure, action, and suspense. The world in which the fantasy takes place is well written. It has a unique magic system in place. It has unique characters throughout the story. Ian Troy is a character that just feel for him whether in a good way or a bad way depending on parts of the story. He is not your average main character that ends a war and becomes the hero. In order to end a war that has gone on long enough he uses The Crown of Stones which left only him alive. A guilt he has to live with knowing how many he massacred, including his Queen. He is left like a drunk trying to stay sober in the years following. But he cannot hide from the world forever and eventually gets caught back up into the adventure.
The story keep me turning the pages wanting to know what would become of Ian. It was my first read by this author and I enjoyed the experience this author’s story gave me. I am looking forward to reading more of this series and more from this author in the future.

Practically Pagan is a guide to rediscovering your passion for life and the skills you need to look after yourself, it starts with Maria DeBlassie talking about her life and how she realised that she had disconnected from herself and how this is not just from being a bruja, it is from her culture and heritage as well. She goes on to talk about how important finding the magic in the everyday actions each of us may take for granted this can include cooking a home cooked meal, taking a walk somewhere that brings you peace or even those daily chores which have to be done and how turning these into something deeper and more meaningful through infusing them with a little magic can make the world of difference. It is using simple tools to enrich and reconnect you to life in all its highs and lows, it isn’t expensive or hard to find, it is just using what is around and within you.
The book starts with explaining what everyday magic is and what can block it from engaging with you, then it moves on to talking about the Goddess within and how radical self care can bring her back to the fore and how to do this through making routine into ritual. Pleasure is the next section and how finding joy in the everyday is as important as looking into the shadows and finding joy there too, how to explore what brings you joy and also what brings the opposing emotions and tensions into it as well. Finally, she talks about how being open to the synchronicities in life can lead to living beyond the expected and how little by little, things will start to flourish as the path you are on becomes the one you were meant to travel.

In the prequel to this book, Red’s Peril: Part 1, we were introduced to the characters of Red and Cheryl. They had met completely by chance on one of Red’s stops along his journey to finding himself. Cheryl was a waitress in a diner that Red stopped at to have a bite to eat and the two of them felt an immediate attraction to each other. Acting on impulse, Cheryl left everything behind to ride off into the proverbial sunset with Red on his motorbike. When it wasn’t everything that she had hoped it to be, Cheryl became spooked and cut their journey short.
Neither saw the other again until by pure chance they ran into each other in Vegas. Even though 15 years had passed neither had stopped thinking about the other and wondering what could have been. Both Red and Cheryl have attempted to move on with their lives over the years but have regrets for leaving things the way that they did all those years ago. With no way of contacting each other through the years they had no idea of what could have been or if things could have worked between them.

I fell in love with Red in the first book and loved everything that he stood for. Most would not find a redhead sexy but somehow Red was not only desirable but also a nice guy that would protect those that he loved at all costs. The first book left us on a cliffhanger as we wondered what was going to become of Red and Cheryl. Part 2 picked up right where the first book left off and immediately drew you back into the storyline.
I have loved everything that I have read by this author, and she never fails to disappoint. The characters are well-rounded, and you instantly fall in love with them. In book one we learned that neither Red, nor Cheryl, were perfect or flawless which makes them more believable as characters. In this book we are also introduced to Zeke who is a non-binary character. I fell in love with their character and admired their strength. The storyline is amazing and leaves you wanting to read right to the very end. This book is a must read!

This book is delightful! I had so much fun from start to finish, and the author is excellent at combining her real-life personal stories with magical encouragement. If you are interested in magic, or already practice, this book would be a great guide to add to your shelf. I’ve read this author before, and she never fails to pull me in and hold my imagination captive as I flip through the pages. As always, I found this book to be too short and could have read so much more. I highly recommend this book to anyone with 5 stars.

Personally I love holiday stories and this is one author I always look forward to reading. These characters pulled me in from the very beginning and pulled on my heartstrings so much I felt like I was in the middle of the story. Full of Christmas cheer, romance, and fantastic characters this Christmas romance was perfect. But Amber and Giovanni really made this story perfect. While Amber is beautiful, smart, and wonderful she really just doesn’t like Christmas, while Giovanni is a handsome single dad. What happens when they both get bitten by the Christmas magic and look for a chance at romance? Will they find their happy ending in each other? You’ll have to read that wonderful holiday story to find out.

This is the first book that I have read from this author. This is book 5 of the Reigning Hearts series, but can be read as a standalone. It is a short and sweet Christmas story with all the feels. It’s about a single dad (Gio) and the town grinch (Amber). Can Amber move on from her past and finally enjoy a Christmas and let herself be happy? I will definitely be reading the rest of this series!

This is another of the Eve Sawyer Mysteries. I’ve loved all these books so far but I think this one is definately a favourite. I love how fast paced the action is. The story starts and builds momentum really fast which keeps it interesting a gripping. This is the 3rd book in the series but it can be read as a standalone.
We are back with Eve who now had returned to her studies. Things seem pretty normal, all she plans on doing is getting good grades. However that changes when a young girl who she knows goes missing. With no clues leading to what happened to her Eve and Bob now have to try and find out what happened and when they realise her boyfriend has gone missing too then worrying questions start to be asked Did her boyfriend have something to do with her disappearance? Is this a missing person or a murder? And if her boyfriend didn’t have something to do with it then what has happened to him?
This book will keep you guessing right up to the end and you will be shocked by what is revealed.

I was excited to jump back into this series, having enjoyed the previous books already. This book I I has to be my favourite one so far. I was instantly pulled into the story and could not put it down. Yet again the author has created a story that is not only interesting but has a depth about it. It was so easy to fall back into these characters and it was so nice to revisit the. I would highly recommend not only this book but also this author.

This is a great start to a new series. The story is an interesting and well written story that holds your attention from the start. However, for me, it is the characters that really make the story. They have auch a strong connection right from the start and i found they were the ones that caught my attention. This is a new author to me but I enjoyed the pace of the book. She knew when to push the story forward but also when to hold it back for the sake of progression. This is an enjoyable story that I would definitely recommend.
This book is so magical. Amber owns a bar and has had a hard life growing up as an orphan. Amber meets Gio when he moves to Cold Creek to take over his grandmother’s cafe so she can retire. A relationship begins to develop between Amber and Gio. Their happiness is threatened by Amber’s past. Will she overcome her fears to have happiness?

Neve Keane is anxious to return to her job as Psychotherapist at the hospital after being stabbed by a patient. After weeks off work for healing and recovery both mentally and physically, she feels that she’s ready to return to work. She is unprepared when instead of a quiet office, she gets mobbed by a group of people on her first day back. She stands helpless in the hallway as they surround her chanting her name and telling her that they need her to help them stop the Apocalypse. After her recent stabbing, Neve is rattled by this turn of events and not sure how to react. She is still suffering from the side effects of the stabbing and the reaction from this group of people has her reliving the memory of her attack. She’s visibly shaken but does not want to lead on that she is frightened because her coworkers might feel that she is not ready to return to work and may try to make her go home. She does not want to go back home and finds it better to be at work where she can hopefully keep her mind busy and not be so bored.
As it turns out, the leader of the crowd turns out to be one of Neve’s patients, so she is familiar with him. He is also a patient of her friend and co-worker Con. Neither Con nor Neve have seen a violent side to the patient, and both have a good rapport with him. Neve feels it necessary to hear her patient out to get a better understanding of the situation at hand and work towards a possible solution. After explaining his visions to her, Neve agrees to help him against her better judgment. After she hears what he has to say she can’t deny that there must be something more to it. If nothing else, she intends to just find out one way or the other. What Neve does not expect to happen is to find a secret plot that involves government officials that goes all the way up to the White House. Now Neve and Con are fighting for their lives as they attempt to stop the end of the world from happening.
This book was very well written and had a storyline that kept me reading to find out what happened next. It moved at a good pace and had a story that involved crime, corruption, evil and a bit of romance all in one. I was curious how far up the chain things went and who all was involved. Was there anyone Neve and Con could trust? Would anyone believe them when they told them what deadly secrets and sinister plots they had uncovered? Would Neve and Con would be successful or would evil win out in the end?

The loss of her husband is only the beginning for Lexi. This author has a way of getting you caught up in her story. The story is non-stop action, keeping you on the edge of your seat. The characters are the true story makers, people I would have loved to have known. Let’s not forget the attraction between Lexi and Xavier. Can these two people do their jobs, all the while trying to keep each other and their families safe? You really do need to read this story, and take a chance with this author. She is a new to me author who has got my vote. I look forward to reading more from her.

Dead Sound grabbed me from the very beginning and kept me hooked until the end! Neve is returning to work after surviving an attack by a patient. Unit 4 fills up with patients who believe an apocalypse is eminent. Neve finds that her patient Amos is involved with these patients. Neve must determine if Amos is experiencing a psychotic break or if he is truly onto something when he shares his Book of Amos with her.

No Names to Be Given by Julia Brewer Daily. This book was amazing! Its not based on a true story but inspired by events that took place. The book is set in 1965 and takes place in a Maternity home hospital in New Orleans. Three women meet in this hospital and this is their story. This maternity home is the place they send unwed mothers to have their babies and then they are taken from the mothers and given to others to adopt. The mothers have no real choice. The women are not given any information about their children and are told not to ask. They have to live with this choice the rest of their lives. When someone threatens the three women who meet there and give birth on the same day secrets begin to come out and the now successful women could be ruined by this secret. Will the women ever be the same after these secrets come out and or will their lives blow up? This book is so full of emotions and is very tragic in ways. Do yourself a favor and read this amazing book!

Queue the muscle and tension! I haven’t read the previous books but I think even though i didn’t know the backstory, I could still make sense of everything! I’ll definitely be going back to read the others though! I really loved that Sasha and Lazarus didn’t want the attraction – it made for some good banter and tension throughout. I am so happy that Lazarus ended up with Sasha. They seem to be a great fit for each other!

This story would have to be one of the most moving and harrowing tales I have ever read. The content is heartbreaking. It centres around three women who become pregnant out of wedlock. Being based in the sixties, it was common practice for unwed girls to be shipped of to a home, give birth and have their babies stripped from them and put up for adoption. Their terribly sad journey moved me beyond words, as I found it impossible to comprehend the turmoil that these women faced. It is inconceivable to think that these barbaric and unfeeling monsters ripped these babies from their mothers. No choices were given. No conversations had regarding options. Nothing but heartache and to be sent back home as if nothing occurred and life was supposed to carry on as normal. It was such a reflective story. I cannot imagine what these women endured and am so thankful that I will never know. I can only feel compassion and hope that they lived their best lives under the circumstances.
Incredibly well written and extensive, this story gives a glimpse into life for unwed mothers in that era and the unimaginable events that were experienced by many women. A touching and unforgettable tale. 5 stars

Priscida is an alley cat who ends up being adopted by a wonderful family. The writing was a little choppy however it was very easy for my 10 year old with dyslexia to read through. Each section is maybe 3-4 short sentences and the illustrations were very kid like. My daughter loved it! As a Children’s book, I can see this being a huge hit in a classroom especially Kindergarten to 3rd grade level or those struggling to read.
I found this book really interesting to read. I was presently surprised when I read this book as I imagined it would be full of spells and tricks. However the ‘spells and rituals’ all revolved around a new way of thinking and a way of taking time to think and appreciate the life you have. It was really special to read about how to find magic in every aspect of your life, even mundane everyday tasks can produce magic if you look at it the right way.
This book was informative and definately makes you think about the way you see and approach your life. It’s full of stories from the authors experience but also has tips for people to use to implement these teachings in their own lives.

A very different take on magic. The story had a really good flow and was easy to read. The world building and characterisation was very well developed and I was vested in Ian Troy as the MC. The author has presented a fantastical story filled with magic, action, drama and intrigue. I enjoyed the unique nature of the magic and it’s affects. The ending left me wanting to know more.

Piasa is the third book in The Legends series by Maggie Adams. It is another intriguing paranormal romance, with shifters, magic, mystery, drama, emotion, chemistry, interesting quirky characters, shamans, sorceresses, vampires, soul mates, secrets, danger, tension, intrigue, mystery, suspense, and wonderful world building. What happens when two worlds collide. One a beautiful shaman and the other a rare and powerful dragon shifter. Fate is about to take them on the adventure of a lifetime. The author had me at dragon shifter- the rest was a wonderful bonus! I am definitely hooked on this series now and am looking forward to Book #4! Happy reading.

No Names to Be Given by Julia Brewer Daily appears to be the author’s debut novel. It is an historical women’s fiction story that will tug on your heartstrings. It is set in the 1960’s and follows several characters through their experiences as unwed mothers in a time when society frowned upon such things. This story is about unwed mothers, pregnancy, societal expectations, shame, scandal, bigotry, fear, abuse, challenges and adoption (forced and otherwise). This was a bit of a confronting story for me, and my heart ached for what the characters endured.

The Traveler is the first book in The Traveler series, and debut novel, by Deborah Dugan. It is a fantasy/sci-fi with time travel, adventure, originality, imagination, and a touch of the bizarre. What a wonderfully strange and unusual tale this turned out to be- in a good way. I am still thinking about it all this time later- so it definitely made an impression. It was quite unexpected- as I dove in blind, without reading the blurb- just going off the title, cover, and the fact that it showed up as a recommended sci-fi read. So, it took a beat or two to get my head around what I was reading. This was my first experience with this author and I am hooked!!! This was a page Turner. I could not put it down. I am going back and reading the first two!! This story had strong character development and the tale was both character and story driven. This kept me guessing and I am usually good at figuring them out, not this one! Every twist and turn unearthed new information and kept me on the edge of my seat!!

The narrator of this story was amazing. His voice was perfect for all of the suspenseful moments and determining plot twists. The book took place in such a great fantasy world and I love that I got the chance to escape to it!

Amazing! The first book in this series is read by the same two narrators and they are both amazing! Their voices fit the characters so well, they must be in a biker gang! This story line was crazy! It started off dramatic and mesmerizing and just got more and more crazy from there! Listen to this book series! You will not regret it!

I knew as soon as I saw that K.G Fletcher had written a Christmas romance, that it would be wonderful- and she didn’t let me down. I would love to see this made into a movie- it’s such a sweet, swoony, and steamy story that made my little heart go pitter-pat! I love everything about the Christmas season- but my favorite part is being able to binge Christmas books and movies- and this book has zipped to the top of the list as one of my firm favourites. Finding out that it is the fifth book in the Reigning Hearts series was just icing on the cake for me. This is everything the blurb promised it to be- a warm, fuzzy, steamy, heartfelt Holiday Romance, with a touch of Christmas magic. Happy reading!
