Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC #3) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett

Slick Running is the third book in the Satan’s Devils MC (Audio Book ) and holy cow I loved listening to this even though I’ve read every one of this authors MC books there’s just something about actually listening to someone else tell the story. You can vividly imagine what things look like all while picturing yourself in their shoes. These narrators did an amazing job bringing the story and characters to life. The different tones of their voices helped with the different emotions the characters were experiencing. I love this series and this one is by far my favorite. Slicks story shredded me a few times but man these two have stolen my heart at the same darn time. Im not going to give anything away. I highly recommend listening to this book and if you haven’t started already go start now. As always I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Theodore’s Ring: BWWM Action Adventure Romance by Stacy-Deann

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. It won’t be my last by the author either. The main characters in this story are from a series I haven’t read, but will now.

Lydia knows wild adventures and is used to them. When her boyfriend is kidnapped over something she won’t back down. She knows what is worth fighting for and she’s going to fight. The quote I chose for Lydia is: “I’m not some woman you can just push around. I’ve been through hell and back in the last year, so there’s nothing you can do to intimidate me.”

Cam doesn’t know when to give up and now it’s gotten him kidnapped. He’s called in a favor from a person he knows Lydia won’t like. He’s hoping he can survive this. The quote I chose for Cam is: “He’s been in Casanu for a year now. He got in touch with me on social media some months back and we reconnected.”

Highly recommended for Romantic Adventure lovers.

Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC #3) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Ashleyann Sanabria

Reading about the Satan’s Devils MC at this point is like reading about family. This book has everything you have come to love from this MC: steamy romance, passionate and all consuming love, to get to her you have to go through me, and a found family that will die without hesitation for the ones they love. Sure, they are cocky, huge, strong, bikers that walk just outside of the law, but thy are all little cuddly puppies on the inside. Slick had his ego hurt, and his heart damaged. Now, months later, it seems his pass hurt is making a come back. That together with loved ones in the hospital is a lot for him to carry. Ella has her own deep wounds, making it difficult for her to ask for help. But when circumstances don’t seem to be something she can fix, she gathers her strength and reaches out to the only people who can help, even if its the last thing shes prepared to do. Seeing Ella’s strength as she finally starts to really heal and tear her walls down made this story so close to my heart. Its filled with raw emotion, and deep trauma that can be hard to read about. It also contains graphic violence, explicit sexual content, child sexual abuse, and other triggers, so definitely check the trigger warnings. All that being said, if you dont feel the triggers are too much, pick up this series! The story can be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend picking the series up from the beginning as there are things that are referenced in this book, that happened in the ones before, and you will appreciate the characters so much more. This author has become and auto read for me! If you like strong emotional and passionate romance and are a fan of shows like Sons of Anarchy, PICK THIS BOOK UP!

Face the Fire (Moore Family Saga Book 5) by Michele Sims – Review by Rebecca Hill

Face the FireFace the Fire by Michele Sims
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book is part of a series; however, I did not read the series and did not have any trouble following the story. Miles “Ari” Moore is the main character in the story along with his wife Bella. Together, they own the production company, AriMusic. Miles is also a well known singer with a genetic condition to produce fireballs. One of his proteges is Pharaoh. Miles has taken him under his wing and on as a musician on his label. This book is about the tragic story of Pharaoh. It was heart wrenching to watch him spiral out of control and eventually lose his life. The love that Miles and Bella share is the standout ingredient in this story and how they deal with Pharaoh together.

Theodore’s Ring: BWWM Action Adventure Romance

The adventure started almost as soon as I started reading and didn’t end until the very end of the story.  This book had some twists and unexpected turns but made total sense.

Lydia is a much better woman than I am.  There is no way I could have gone on the adventures she went on with Cam, but at the same time I would love to have that opportunity to travel and see the world in that way.

I love it when a new to me author keeps me as engaged as I was while reading.   Ended reading this way later than I should have but I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next with Lydia and Cam and the rescue.

I will be keeping my eye out in the future for more books by this author.

To be a Fae Queen (Realm Chronicles Book 1) by Tricia Copeland – Review by S. Bittles

To be a Fae Queen (Realm Chronicles, #1)To be a Fae Queen by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first read by this Author and it most definitely will not be my last!! The Author has an exceptional talent with fantastic world building and amazing visualization; the Author makes you feel like you’ve known Titania, her royal family and their kingdom your whole life, feeling every bit of anger and frustration with them.

The kingdom and royal family remain broken from the past tragedy that took the lives of many. All characters in this book are well developed and engaging, everyone is vital to our lead characters’ development, as well as to her past.

We are given an amazingly fearless heroine lead, Titania, who is smart, fierce and strong enough to be able to put her kingdom before herself at the young age of 15. Although she is young, she is very relatable as we follow her journey of continuous obstacles and difficulties. She remains heartwarmingly humble, even as those known to her kingdom, turn against her rule.

I highly recommend reading this book, not only does it have beauuutiful artwork, it has an excellent storyline and the Author shows great attention to detail and to the background information that is helpful if you are new to the Fae genre.

The Author has created a captivating and interesting world of realms, I was drawn in and hooked by the end of the first chapters! I love that we are given maps of the kingdoms with an idea of where they are, in comparison to our current world.

This is a coming of age novel that contains a thrilling adventure of good vs evil, drama, loss and deceit,as well as family, friendships and love.

I will be ordering a copy of this book to have on the shelf for when my children are old enough to enjoy it! Add this to the list of strong character leads who are relatable even if they are in a different realm.

I am looking forward to reading the next instalment in the Realm Chronicles!

To be a Fae Guardian (Realm Chronicles Book 2) by Tricia Copeland – Review by S. Bittles

To be a Fae Guardian (Realm Chronicles, #2)To be a Fae Guardian by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second instalment of the Realm Chronicles and as the first, it does not disappoint! I read these books back to back, I suggest reading them in order to have a full understanding, as there is more to come!

We are again taken to the realm of Middle Earth, continuing with Titania on her journey as Queen and learning with her more about the realms and past secrets. We follow Titania while she struggles to believe in herself as she faces hard decisions for the kingdom and the challenges that come with her young age. As she is growing into a young adult fae, she still shows her strength and resilience to put her kingdom first and do best by her family.

We are introduced to new characters and dilemmas that Queen Titania continues to handle with grace. She struggles with support and trust from her people; while having every move she makes watched, literally, she finds the strength to carry on despite everything weighing on her shoulders.

The fate of the kingdom falls to Queen Titania as evil forces threaten Middle Earth. She may be the only one left to ensure that evil doesn’t win and to defend her kingdom from the creatures who threaten to take over.

The Author continues to impress with their great care and attention to detail and gives us another fantasy adventure of good vs evil, drama, loss and deceit, as well as family, friendships and love. There is an added layer of secrets, prophecies, mystery, magic and evil spirits.

I will be ordering a copy of this book to have on the shelf for when my children are old enough to enjoy it! Add this to the list of strong character leads who are relatable even if they are in a different realm.

I enjoyed this second instalment, it was engaging and fast paced, making for a page turning read. I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to reading the next instalment in the Realm Chronicles!

At the End of Everything by Marieke Nijkamp – Review by Colleen Noyes

At the End of EverythingAt the End of Everything by Marieke Nijkamp
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

At the End of Everything started out as a very slow book, but by about half way through it picked up and I found myself beginning to enjoy it a little more. While it is not marketed as a book about Covid, that’s basically what it felt like. A story about what is going on in the world at this time and the struggles. I found some of the characters likeable, but then there was no closure on some of the others so it left me with mixed reactions. I will say that towards the last 60 pages or so, I finally felt connected to the characters and stories and the last few chapters brought me to tears. My suggestion would be if you pick up this book to go into it knowing that it’s pretty much about covid, but if you hang in there to the end you will be pleasantly surprised by where the author starts and ends.

Wild Hare’s Daughter is a story full of family, magic, and more. I like the incorporation of magic and realism to tell the story. The story and characters are interesting and left me wishing I had read the first book before this one. I would have liked more to the backstory, but now I have another book to read. I enjoyed the development of the characters and story. It is an interesting dystopian setting that adds to the storyline. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The one thing I enjoy best is reading a book that is down to earth and realistic. Even though the characters are fiction it is good to see that they had flaws and that they have to battle for things just like normal people. I found that the author had such a good balance of drama as well as romance. I like the fact that it wasn’t predictable. I also like how the author made the characters relatable.

I like how life wasn’t perfect and the characters had to overcome obstacles. There is just something that draws one in more when nothing is predictable and you are hooked on the book and don’t want to put it down as you want to see how it will all end. I will definitely read more from this author.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This fairly quick read is full of action, drama, suspense and of course romance, everything I expect in a story by this author. I liked the main character, Lydia and felt she was likeable and relatable. When Lydia’s boyfriend Cam is kidnapped by Efrain she does not hesitate to get him back, even though it means going into the difficult terrain of the jungle, dodging bullets and fighting the bad guys. In order to get Cam back Lydia must deliver a legendary artefact, known as ‘Theodore’s Ring’, which is worth millions, to Efrain. To complicate things further, she is embarking on her dangerous journey into the Casanu jungle with her ex-lover, Sullivan, who is determined to get Lydia back, whatever the cost! This is a fast paced read with an exciting storyline and plenty of plot twists, all of which had me hooked from start to finish. The characters and the setting are brought to life by the descriptive narrative and I felt fully immersed in the story. An enjoyable and engaging read.

Seed on Fire (Moore Family Saga Book 1) by Michele Sims – Review by Tara Johnson Barnes

Act I: Seed On Fire (Moore Family Saga, #1)Act I: Seed On Fire by Michele Sims
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Seed on Fire is Book One in the Moore Family Saga series of books. We are introduced to Kaiden, a musician, and Alicia Moore, a young couple that fall head over heels in love and soon become married after a whirlwind romance. Alicia unexpectedly becomes pregnant on their honeymoon, something which threatens to tear Cade and Alicia apart. Kaiden, or Cade as his friends call him, and Alicia, or Lecia as her close friends call her, find their relationship put to the test with this revelation.

Cade never expected to settle down but that all changed when he met Lecia. He is now struggling with the sudden life changes and his impending fatherhood. Lecia finds herself overjoyed and cannot wait to become a mother but is struggling with the loss of her career because of her impending motherhood. These life changes cause a rift between Cade and Lecia but soon a series of horrific events not only threatens to break them apart but also puts the life of their unborn child in danger. Will their love be strong enough to endure the threats and hardships put before them?

This book was full of action, adventure, romance, danger and ultimately the family ties that bind. The author does a great job of tackling the difficult topics of the sacrifices and the often-difficult concept of forgiveness that most couples are faced with throughout their relationship. The characters of Kaiden and Alicia were described so well so you could not help but feel that you knew them. I loved the relationship that they had and the lengths that they would go to remain together. No matter what they went through and who tried to tear them apart their love for each other was undeniable and unbreakable. From the very first few pages I was hooked, and I needed to learn more about this couple and what was going to become of them and their relationship and ultimately what would become of their unborn child. I was hooked and not only quickly devoured Book One but immediately moved onto Book Two in the series, Playing With Fire, followed up by the next few books in the series. I highly recommend the Moore Family Saga series of books.

A Sublime five-star read. This is number two in the Titans of Manhattan series, and follows on so well from the first, we met Anton and Elsa in the first instalment, but they come to life in this one. This is a fast-paced story, and you can feel the romance and passion the main characters show each other, but the pain is also palpable and so real between the couple. There are so many layers to this story, they will all suck you in and make you feel the story. The author has a way with words that will just keep you hooked from the first page to the last.

This was my first read in this series and by this author. I absolutely loved this twisted, funny, witty and yes steamy tale. Definitely a must read! The author’s writing style is exactly what I look for. Katrina is a heroine you can absolutely root for and Gabriel is so cocky and witty that I fell in love with him. It always makes the story so much better when the characters are people you can love. I am going back and reading the rest of this series!! I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!!

The Bear at Midnight (Orkneyinga Murders Book 4) by Lexie Conyngham – Review by Kerry Carr

The Bear at Midnight (Orkneyinga Murders #4)The Bear at Midnight by Lexie Conyngham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in the series and even though I haven’t read the first 3 books I still really enjoyed this one. I think if you read the books in order you would get a greater understanding for the characters but it doesn’t mean that reading this as a standalone spoils the story but it was still an amazing read and I can’t wait for more. The author does an amazing job at describing the scenes. You actually feel like you are in the great hall, experiencing everything that’s happening. The author takes you  a historical  murder mystery set in the Orkney. It is written so well that I didn’t know who was responsible for the murder until it was revealed which I loved as i normally realise who the suspect is before then so it was refreshing to have no clue until it was revealed.

When the leader dies and other people turn up murder our two main characters, Ketil and Sigrid must solve the murder before the killer strikes again.
With enemies around every turn, a fight to become the new leader and now these mysterious murders the pair need to figure it out before its too late and gets too close for comfort.
