My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really loved reading about Brynn and Levi.

Brynn has moved to a new city to start over after her recent divorce. She is following her dream now that she is done putting them aside for a man. After winning tickets on the radio to a local hockey game, she thinks her luck is changing. However, when she nails the Captain of the team in the jewels in front of a large crowd, she believes luck is not on her side. Getting contacted to shoot the team’s calendar could be good for her…and her bank account…but when the Captain shows up and drops a truth bomb on her, Brynn doesn’t know how to feel.

Levi is the Captain of the team and is dedicated to only the team. He doesn’t have room in his life for love. He had one of those once and doesn’t want to bering that kind of heartache into his life. When he sees a woman during the period intermission, she seems familiar to him. When her name is announced, memories of the past come rushing in. The next time he sees her, he is a jerk. But when he tells her his truth, he isn'[t sure what to expect…but it isn’t the anger that is unleashed upon him.

What follows is the story of a past filled with love and heartache…and trying to deal with it after years have passed and life has changed both of them. The camaraderie of the team is a huge aspect of this story…and I love Tia and Bridger! The chemistry between Levi and Brynn is fierce…but the hurt feelings of the past creep up and threaten the progress they make. I admire Brynn for standing up for her own freedom and wanting what’s best for herself and not letting others decide it for her. As the first book in a new series…I enjoyed it and can’t wait to see what the next book brings!
