I began these wonderful stories and it was so amazing, and perfect that I finished it in one sitting. Both stories were full of amazing characters, love, dreams, hope, and sacrifice. The writing was just purely amazing the author did such a wonderful job capturing their audience and taking us on an emotional ride through her story. While the two stories were connected, they were also both unique in their own way. But in the long run they both flowed together beautifully and naturally, so if your looking for a great new author to try or a new story to read then pick this one up today.

Helm of Awe is a heart-pounding Book 3 that throws Van and her team into danger from all sides. Van struggles to come to terms with Suixsha, the girl who out-maneuvered her in the Jaychund games, and continues to baffle and irritate her. Suixsha is a woman of few words, but her inner calm and startling prowess in battle leave Van feeling insecure and annoyed. However, the Alignment waits for no one, so Van tries to focus on her mission, and not her rival, or her long-distance boyfriend, or the curse that awaits her in adulthood. Once again, she must quiet her inner demons, release fears that aren’t serving her, and act with integrity and compassion for all people. Her spiritual/psychological transformations in these books are well thought-out, and accompanied with exciting plot developments.
The scene in the cave was so well done, with so much coming at our heroine at once. I also really liked the parts with the family of animals she rescued. Great book, great series, great fantasy!

Welcome to Book 2, a great sequel to Shock of Fate! We catch up with Van Cross a year later, as she sets out on her latest mission during the Alignment. Once again, bestie Paley is by her side, as is her protector Brux, and new addition Prenilla, her Providence Island nemesis. Van has hardened her heart and her body, ruthlessly shunning any sort of emotional attachment in her quest to become the best warrior she can be. She trains incessantly and avoids any introspection about the past – particularly the death of Solana and her feelings for Brux. Her mentors nudge her toward balance – light and dark exist in equal measure, and the inability to accept both forces blocks her power. It is one of the many lessons she is charged with learning in this Book 2, and she is a stubborn student!
I thought the plot was really intriguing in this book, there were lots of dire circumstances happening all at once, upping the danger factor and lessening the chances of success. Wiglaf is the bestest magical creature, and I enjoyed the plot points with them and Paley/Van. Van’s test with the Quasher had me biting my nails and turning pages as fast as I could.

A great start to a series I look forward to devouring! Vanessa Cross, daughter of Grigori agent and presumed traitor Michael Cross, is thrust into the secret world of her father to retrieve a priceless artifact. When debriefed by his formidable boss Uxa, she learns that there is far more going on in her sleepy little Island town than she ever thought possible. She sets out on her adventure with her team (after sneaking in her best friend Paley, natch), feeling inadequate compared to the skills and talents of the teen soldiers around her. Van struggles to figure out her place in this ragtag group, quiet her insecurities, and conquer her fears so that she can play her role in the unfolding history of the Living World.
I loved the tension between Van and Brux, and the romantic sparks between them. Jorie is also a great character who is very lively and intricately drawn. I could picture her black mohawk and “friend” Zachary vividly, and it made me smile every time she jumped onto the stage of this story. Van’s transformation through the story and was impressive as she came to terms with what she was actually capable of and who she actually could be in the world. I highly recommend this book – a great adventure!

It is 1864 in South Carolina and slavery is still going strong and any rich person has at least one, whether they treat them well is another story, but Penny is one of the lucky ones and has been brought up more like a family member than a slave, she is allowed to live in the house and be a companion to the families daughter, but one day that all changes. Leon Falcon is the richest man with the largest plantation in South Carolina and possibly in all the nearby states and he treats his slaves well, one day he is visiting a family who is down on their luck, however, when he sees their slave Penny, all he wants is her and nothing else will do, so he makes an offer to her owners and awaits their answer.
As soon as Penny sees Leon Falcon she admires him and thinks that he is the most handsome man she has seen and despite being black and a slave she realises that she wants more from him than he can ever offer her. When Leon returns to Penny’s home, her owners agree to sell her to him and so she packs up her things and leaves with him for Falcon Grove where his plan is to teach her and then take her like every slave master does, however, when he realises that Penny isn’t like the normal slaves he encounters he experiences a change of opinion. Leon realises that he wants to woo her and court her like an equal, however, for a master and a slave, this can never be.
As time goes on and Leon begins to fall harder for Penny than he intended and soon she admits that she feels the same way, but what does their future hold and will they be able to overcome the obstacles their skin colour and the societal values which surround them, or will it all fall apart before it can even really begin? This is a historical romance where love runs strong, but the path is not free of the dangers which threaten everything they are trying to build in this steamy and intoxicating story of forbidden love.
This book is amazing I loved the romance and the love between the main characters. This book was well written I couldn’t put it down. It’s definitely a great read.

Gem used to be with the MC Hawks with whom she has a violent past but after leading a quiet life for a couple of years, she yearns for the adrenaline rush again. After joining Rage, she realizes that this MCis not so different from the last. This is an MC romantic suspense story. It involves some danger, drama and betrayal. I love MC stories and I had never read a book by this author before so I was excited to pick this one up.
It’s very different from the usual ones that I read. First off, it’s about a motorcycle gang with speed bikes and racing, not Harleys. Second, the main character is a tough as nails female, which was nice. Although part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. My issue with the book is that I felt that there could have been more development with the relationships between the characters. It seemed as though the author wanted to tell a story but skimmed over all the details, there was no depth. I couldn’t connect to the characters. It could be because I hadn’t read the other books in the series so that could be my fault. Most of the time I didn’t know how much time had passed between events; days, weeks? It is a fast paced story which I find the author had to squeeze within a limit of pages.

I love reading new Authors and this Author did not disappoint. I love books set in the time this one was. I loved every page and the writing style was amazing. I am excited to read more from this Author in the future. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends.
What a sweet romance this book is. I always.enhoy stories written by this author and this one is no different. I thought this was a quick and easy read that draws you into the characters bit by bit. Although the characters had an instant connection I loved that it felt like it developed over the course of the book. It had quite an easy writing style about it. The story was paced well and written just right. This was a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I’ve read quite a few books by this author now and I always enjoy her writing but I think this is probably my absolute favourite book by her. I was completely gripped by what I was reading, the story was engaging, the characters likeable – I honestly loved every single second of it. Cate and Patti’s relationship was the true meaning of friendship – they clearly meant so much to each other and it was really heart-warming how they were there for each other throughout the story. There were so really great twists and turns in the plot for this story which kept me engaged form beginning to end. Overall a fantastic read and one that I would highly recommend!

This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed and look forward to reading more from this author in the future. This is a dark fantasy, paranormal story that is full of action with some romance added in. This is a well written story where the characters bring the story to life and pulled me in from the beginning. This is an engaging story that was hard to put down. A story of falling in love, arranged marriage and the cost of freedom. This is a fast paced story that was easy to read. The characters are connectable, strong, and supportive of each other. They have great growth throughout the story as well. I enjoyed the author’s use of details to make the story entertaining. This is a great story that is worth the pick up. I highly recommend this book.

This was a really enjoyable book and one I could see many young adults relating to. The characters lives were written about in a realistic and relatable way – I really felt like I got to know Rourke, his family and his friends throughout this book. The way author wrote about anxiety was great, a lot of time and effort had been put into the planning of the characters and that definitely came across. There were certain parts of the story that really transported me back in time to when I was that age and at school – it definitely stirred up a few emotions too! Overall a really great read and one that I would highly recommend!

This is a lovely sweet contemporary romance novel. I felt a connection between the characters.l especially Scott. Franceen is a great lady and I love the way she is portrayed. Past failures make them a bit very wary of relationships neither wanting to be hurt. Scott is very dedicated to his work and doesn’t have much of a personal life when Franceen walks into his life. Great job in the build-up of this relationship.

I can say without hesitation that I most certainly shed a couple tears during the love story of Norah, and Giovanni, and the connection that can only be shared by those with familial ties. I have experienced a couple of great losses within the last couple years and felt the emotions that this author wanted to convey on an even higher level. The artistry she includes within her writing style to allow the reader to fall deep into the Appalachian hills, the scenery described, and the lifestyle all hit the mark for me, and I couldn’t put it down.
Jagged Dawn brought to light this authors ability to really make you feel the main characters, their hopes, and wants, and dreams, and understand what a person will do and what they can withstand when they MUST. It ended a little abruptly, in turn, however, makes me want to read more! To me, both novella and the short story expressed hope, want, need, love, care, and understanding, as well as an independence of the characters that is both admired and envied. I have yet to read any of her other written works, but very much look forward to doing so soon. Looking for a quick, emotion-filled read? Pick this up, I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Reading this book made me realise that I don’t read enough crime books anymore and need to read more. This was a new author to me and I was unsure what to expect, but I really enjoyed her writing style. The story flowed well and had me engaged from the very beginning, right up to the end. Reading about Cate and Patti made me wish that I had a friendship like theirs. These 2 women are totally devoted to one another and have the most amazing friendship ever. If this book is anything to go by, then this author has an amazing knack of writing fantastic characters. I absolutely adored both Patti and Cate, Along with those two, Patti’s Mum and Cate’s Dad are both characters that I really enjoyed reading about. You could also add Jake and Andrew to this although they don’t play as large a role as the others. This book is gripping and just when you think you know what’s going on, the author throws you a curveball and the story twists. There are quite a few twists and turns and I have to say that I definitely did not predict the ending. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to other readers.

I am huge fan of this author, so of course I picked up this one with excitement! I truly do love how this author writes, and creates a story that captures you and holds you there until the final second possible. I found this one as amazing as the rest of the books written by this author. Truly engaging!
I loved the feels I got when reading this one. The story had more to it than I first thought at my first few pages in. The characters were full of intrigue, the mystery around them really captivated me. They defiantly change from the first few pages to the end. I loved their change as I would call it from beginning to end. The paranormal factors as usual was very well done with the writing! The book was not predictable at all, there were things that happened that I did not expect, and kept me interested in anticipation to what would happen next! Could not put down this wonderful read!
Love this author so much. If you have not checked out their books before I highly say you do so. This book alone, is a high recommendation and a must read. I also suggest you read the other books in the series, they are as spell casting on the reader as this one is! Wonderful read and wonderful series!
I loved this book! The beginning really drew me in and got me excited to read the rest. I didn’t realize that this book was a standalone from another series- so I get to enjoy reading more from this world. The main characters: Bernard and Alva are both so interesting and charming and show such personal growth throughout the story. I love fantasies and mythology and this book really hits the mark. This is a fantastic book my friends- and deserves a read. (:

I thoroughly enjoyed So Right and the characters of Petro and Amara. These co-workers are brought together by their boss who sends them to scope out a California inn that he wants to purchase. Their mission has them pretending to be engaged and looking at possible wedding venues. During their week together, their relationship changes into intimacy and the pair begin healing from their past traumas and histories. This is a sweet story showing us that age is just a number and that love has no limits. The characters are all wonderful, supportive and amazing. This is the first I’ve read from this author but I hope to read more.

I was mesmerized by this book and found it impossible to put down. I was drawn into the world of Japan and the lives of Aia and Nen. I enjoyed seeing the world of a Geisha through Aia’s eyes and it really got me thinking about what a Geisha must go through. Is this what it’s like for all Geisha girls? I also loved the fact that Aia was a bit more voluptuous and rounded then a typical Geisha girl would be, yet it did not stop her from pursuing her dreams. At first Nen comes across as being cold, dark, and mysterious but once you start reading you realize that there is far more to his character than meets the eye. Aia and Nen appear to be exact opposites, yet they end up being so perfectly matched for each other. Nen is a proud and strong swordsman who not only protects Aia, but the people of Japan, from dark forces that exist in a realm that they do not know exist. Aia is strong, smart, and courageous so she can hold her own and stand up for herself when it is necessary for her to do so.

I quite enjoyed this book. The characters and the world building were really well done. My only issue is that as much as it gives a slight gothic vibe I would’ve liked more of a pull on this. It was a quick, enjoyable read and I would consider reading more by this author in the future.

This was so unusual. I’m usually a bit shaky with shifters but I wound up liking this a lot. The character development is unlike anything else. Throughly enjoyed. I would really be interested to see what else this author comes out with as I see a big future ahead for them. 100% original and entertaining. A real good read.

A man named Samuel approaches her and tells her that he can help her escape her miserable life and heal her physically if she joins him as a vampire. With no hesitation she says yes thinking this is the answer to her happiness. She doesn’t realize that emotional scars follow you everywhere even into the undead life.
This book was powerfully written and the concept itself is unique. It was written so powerfully morbid and sad but I could not put it down. I loved watching Julia grow into her own and slowly heal from her traumatic life. The author delved deeply into the emotional damage that can be caused by being abused. Julia battles depression and anxiety with the help of Samuel.
I would recommend this book to anyone who isn’t soft. It was amazing. I will be immediately looking for the 2nd book in the series!

This is the fourth instalment of the series. I enjoyed this book. Gemma has had a very hard life and now is enduring more pain but to what cost. This motorcycle club is called Rage. There are so many twists and turns in this story, which is unexpected. Gem is a strong woman and nothing keeps her down. This is an example of a gritty motorcycle club book.

I really wish I could give this more than 5 stars! This was my favorite book of the series so far. Paley still got on my nerves but not as bad as the first two books. Van is still growing and proving herself. The side characters are still amazing. I started this as soon as I finished the second one and didn’t stop till the wee hours of the morning. It was that good! It’s filled with life lessons and I think every teenager should read it. I’m going to sweet talk mine into reading it. This author is definitely on my favorites list.

Trezzie, Maia, and Fig swap science tricks using treasures from the mermaid’s secret box. Best of all, they make a rainbow with a mirror, a piece of paper, and a glass of water. Trezzie is Maia’s imaginary playmate. Fig is her human friend. Together, they make a great team.
This book had me engaged from beginning to end. Gem is a strong female lead and its very much needed in an MC world. I was hanging on for this ride to see what would happen next as it was full of action and I loved every minute of it. I cannot wait to read more!
