Notebook Mysteries ~ Changes and Challenges (Notebook Mysteries Book 3) by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Karen Pearman

Notebook Mysteries ~ Changes and ChallengesNotebook Mysteries ~ Changes and Challenges by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book three in this exciting young adult historical mystery series. As with the previous two books, I thoroughly enjoyed this one as well. Then again I am into historical books, so this was a no-brainer for me to pick up to read. And it picked up right where the previous book ended. I must admit I always love when series books do that because it is easier to keep up with. This one took place in Chicago which I am very familiar with as I have family that lives there so it was fun to read a mystery taking place there in the 1800’s. I love these characters. And the author does a wonderful job with the mystery and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed it just as much as the previous books. I can’t wait to ready book four.

Claiming My Mate (Wolf Hollow Pack #1)Claiming My Mate by Nicole Howl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was entertaining tale of Royal shifters and the servants that serve them. Jason falls for his human servant. There is plenty of adventure, romance, a bit of violence and a little darkness. There were some twists I did not see coming. There were some characters that lacked something I can’t put my finger on. I did feel the characters were written well. I do wish the story could have been a bit longer so I could have had more. I am such a book hog that way. The plot was enjoyable. The King, though, he was intimidating. Overall, I loved the book and hope there will be more.

Reunion in the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction Book 4) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Shelly Kittell

Reunion in the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, #4)Reunion in the Outback by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This has been one of the most beautiful series I have ever read. They can be read as stand alone. This book is beautiful, heart warming and almost true to life. The challenges Michael and Yolanda face are real and can be heartbreaking if you let them. Some familiar faces pop up in the story and Bunya Junction has become a bit like home. The details in the plot feel like you are there in the Outback with the characters. There are a few twists thrown in. As I mentioned, the issues are real, which make this story so engaging and one that you are involved in from the beginning straight through. I couldn’t put it down. Touched my soul all the way down. I would give it more than a 5 if I could. It’s going on my Best of 2022 list. I highly recommend this book to all who love to read.

Praise for the character development in Apocalypse! Seth, Miriam and the whole crew are going through a good deal of emotional growth not to mention an Apocalypse at the same time! Thank you, Theresa for writing such fascinating characters. One of the best Young Adult novels I’ve read in a while. The Epic tale of good vs. evil feels so appropriate in the Garden of Edenia. I look forward to the next installment and future works by this author.

Book 3 was truly a feel good romance. This story brings romance, drama, suspense, and the question of the strength of a fated bond. It was vividly told and played across the imagination with great ease, This story brings us to Brandon and Macy. They meet incidentally one night in which they realize they are mates and it turns into a night of passion. After that night they part ways until they are reunited again down the line, and Brandon sees Macy is not alone this time. Its a great story and it will definitely hold your attention until the very end!

I have to admit that this is one of many from this author that I have read and she is defintely in my top 10 favorite authors. I like how the characters are realistic. I found myself being drawn into this book and I just could not put it down. I liked the balance of drama and action along with romance.

This book really had me hanging on every page as I felt I was right there in the midst of the action. I also like the authors style as I find it quite refreshing. I look forward to reading more from this author as well as this series.

Lois is a former high school chemistry teacher and former head science teacher at Science in the City Summer Camp in Philadelphia. She has also been an adjunct science teacher at the University of South Florida. Since retiring, she continues to take science classes. Her class in Forensic Biology led to Little Red, The Detective, in which Red is studying fingerprint identification, so she can tell that “Grandma” isn’t who she says she is.

Lois has taken so many science classes that she believes science is the solution to almost every problem, including the dilemmas in fairy tales. She has invented what she calls Science Folktales. In each science-based tale, the protagonist achieves a better ending than the original because of learning scientific principles. She has turned some of these tales into plays for children.

She has also created a series of Mermaid Science stories, which make use of water science.

Lois is married to the love of her life. She has two children and four grandchildren, and a dog. She gardens, rides her bike, and tries to save the planet.

Bullet and Clementine….oh I did some swooning with these 2!
Bullet is still coming into himself and feeling down about instances that have taken him to where he is today. He fears letting down the brothers who are the only true family he has known, and Clementine comes at the right time to help build that self confidence in him and them together. Its a gritty story that is just as flirty and fun. They have great chemistry and the background itself ties it all together perfectly.

Love’s Full Circle by Cherry Christensen – Review by Candice Estes

Love's Full CircleLove’s Full Circle by Cherry Christensen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was a very good depiction of how to handle situations that aren’t easy, and are emotionally painful, when you are trying to forgive someone for inflicting pain with their carelessness. I found the characters relatable and well formed, as well as the scenery and the storyline. This book is very good, and Cherry Christensen is a gifted author with much insight. I liked that there wasn’t a ton of unnecessary drama, but enough to keep the storyline moving and keep the characters growing and maturing while working toward rekindling their romance of days past, without a full walk down memory lane. I was engaged and interested from the moment I picked it up, and fell asleep while trying to finish because I was too close not to and didn’t want to put it down. I would highly recommend this book.

This is the fourth book in this series which I have enjoyed from the first book in this series. This can be read as a standalone series which I highly suggest doing to help your enhancement of this series and of this author’s writing skills. I enjoyed this romance story about Micheal and Yolanda and their second chance at love. As they separate, Yolanda goes back home with their daughter trying to make a clean break. Michael has something else in mind. What will happen when he shows up determined to put his marriage back together. What will fate have in store for these two? Will they get their second chance at love? I enjoyed these two characters and how they pop off the pages. They took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride that kept me coming back for more. They are relatable and have great chemistry. I also enjoyed their growth throughout the story. They had me wanting them to get back together so they could once again be happy. This is a great story that is fast paced and hard to put down. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Juliet's Journey to Love (Great Smoky Mountain Getaways, #4)Juliet’s Journey to Love by Elsie Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is a clean romance and can be very inspirational.

Take a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Juliet isn’t sure what God’s plan for her life is, but the opportunity to head the Freedom and Faith small group gives her a sense of purpose and belonging. The group intends to trek parts of the Appalachian Trail in order to become closer to God through a back-to-nature approach. Juliet accompanies two other ladies on a trip, determined to succeed, but when she becomes unwell and they’re days away from their destination, her companions must dial 911. She’s compelled to accept aid from a man who looks more like a grizzly bear than a savior. Jake, the loner, wants them to go.

Except that just as Juliet and her friends are about to leave, Jake succumbs to the sickness, and Juliet must once again save the day. She meets a man with a heart and a history in the process. Her inability to lead the group inspires her to redouble her attempts to be needed, and she’s eager to assist Jake in more ways than one. When she hears about an opening at the medical clinic in Hollow Creek, she applies, knowing it will offer her a reason to stay in town and allow her to assist Jake with his life back. Her tactics aren’t always spotless, but she has the correct intentions. The walls come crumbling down when Jake discovers the truth. Can they sort out their differences by mucking through the past and their own issues?

I loved this story. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is my first book from this author and I can’t wait to read more from this series.

(Un)Loved (Mixed Emotions, #1)(Un)Loved by Katy Hunter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ever meet that person you could really see yourself in a relationship with, but it is just horrible timing? For Sophie and Guillaume that certainly seems to be the case. The two fight their attraction while wanting more since they are working together. Needing a break, Sophie travels with Guillaume to his family’s home. Will Sophie find the break she is looking for? Will Sophie and Guillaume act on there feelings toward each other?

This is the first book by Katy Hunter that I have read. While I had a hard time emerging myself into the story in the beginning, that quickly changed and I enjoyed the book. The characters were relatable; there were times you want to laugh with them, cry with them, even shake some sense into them. What more could you ask for? I look forward to reading more by Hunter and would recommend reading this book.

3.5 Stars

Notebook Mysteries- Changes and Challenges is the third instalment in the Notebook Mysteries series by Kimberly Mullins. This story picks up a soon after the events in books two- so I would recommend reading the previous book/s before starting on this one, as I feel that knowing what happened previously will give you a better understanding and appreciation of the characters, motivations, and foundations of the story- which in turn will enhance your reading experience of this book.
Emma Evens is once again thrust into intrigue and mystery which brings a whole new set of changes and challenges. With crime and investigation, suspense, drama, danger, adventure, and a little romance- this quirky historical mystery is my favourite of the series, so far. Looking forward to seeing what Emma (and the team) get up to in ‘Unexpected Outcomes’, Book #4 in the series.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Kimberly Mullins!

This was a great 5 star read. We get Diego’s POV in this book.
I was pulled in right from the beginning.

He is dealing with a soon to be ex that is being very complicated. He had been with her quite a few years and thought she would be the one he spent his life with. Trying to move forward his brother keeps trying to get him out of his shell but he’s not that kind of person. He takes on a class when a co-worker goes on maternity, this is where he meets Cassie. There is something about her that pulls him in.

Diego agrees to tutor Cassie and man did I feel for the poor girl when she came to the first session. How embarrassing for her, Diego handled it so well and I loved how supportive he was of her. As they spend more time together sparks start to fly. Overall I really enjoyed this read. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I had some LOL moments as well. You can read this book as a standalone but reading Cassie’s view first gives you better insight into things. If you’re looking for a good second chance romance, 1-click and get started today. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Claiming My Mate (Wolf Hollow Pack #1)Claiming My Mate by Nicole Howl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story was phenomenal! From the first page, I could not put it down and when I finished, it left me wanting more! Lily is a servant of the Wolf Hallow royal family. Though she didn’t choose to be in her position, she wants nothing more than to stay out of the spotlight. Some unwanted attention brought her into the spotlight she didn’t want.

Jason is the future king and is just waiting for his chance to claim the spot as Alpha, until he meets his mate. The trouble is, she doesn’t know, nor is it a welcome title to anyone involved. Jason soon realizes he will have to fight for what he wants.

Jason and Lily’s story has a little of everything; action, adventure, romance, humor, and even some unexpected turns. I loved that I felt like I was in the story with them. I felt their emotions resonate within me as I turned page after page. It is a true story of fighting for the ones you love! Plus, who doesn’t love a little paranormal romance, especially when wolves are involved?! I can not wait to read more Wolf Hollow stories in the future!

Everyone loves an Alpha and when he finds his mate it makes it that much better!
Rylie was beautiful and strong with a good soul. Mason was a single dad and the Alpha of Powder River Pack. He was doing the best with what he was given, and leading his pack with high hopes of finding his eternal mate. Together their story was passion pain, and acceptance with a beautiful HEA. This was a great werewolf story and I am eager for what’s next.

This book is a well written short story by an author who is new to me. I was impressed with how well the author described the scenes, things the characters were thinking and feeling, and how well the main characters interacted as things changed. I was able to connect to the main characters of Lily and Jason as they helped each other navigate changes. I love how Lily grew stronger as she learns more about the shifter world as a human who was turned. She compliments Jason, the future pack Alpha, in many ways with her strength and caring personality. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

This is one of the cutest romance books that I have read in a while. Clover is a waitress trying to get by, saving herself for her man. Shamrock is a ladies man with a reputation. When these two meet up, the sparks fly. Problem is, she meets him as Patrick. Can she still love him once she learns his nickname? This author did a fantastic job. Fun story. Well-written characters that were totally relatable. They could have been your best friends. I would love to see more like this. Maybe in a Benihana, lol. Please, from a reader eagerly awaiting more? I would definitely give it more than a 5 if I could. Highly recommend.

Lily is a human servant in the royal household of Wolf Hollow. Her life is turned upside down when the family returns and she is attacked by a guard. Jason, the prince, catches her scent and realizes that she is his mate. Everything seems to be set against them meeting and ultimately being together. As they find their way to each other, will they be enough? Can Jason survive a challenge to them being together?

This is my first time reading this author. It caught my eye, and I couldn’t resist picking it up! It was a quick read and full of action. There were surprises throughout the book that kept me reading to see how it was all going to work out. I do love a good werewolf book!
