This book was excellent! I really enjoyed the different take on a different time and place. The intentionality with which the author built the world, creating and building different types of places and biases is absolutely amazing. It mirrors our world, showcasing the differences between the citizens. However, even with the differences between them and us, the characters are still relatable, making me want to know them more.

During the show, Tess is accompanied by Trey. Tess experiences flashes of history while wearing the dress of Phoebe Carter who was murdered one hundred years ago. These flashes and glimpses of history have Tess investigating Phoebe’s murder -was her husband really who committed the crime as everyone believes? Trey helps Tess hoping to possibly clear the stain on the family name. As the two work together they develop feelings for the other, something neither is looking for. But, are the feelings really that of Tess and Trey? Or are they feelings that are lingering from the past flashes that are experienced?
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Murder, mystery, love, and a bit of paranormal whats not to love. Young did an amazing job with her character development and relations. She does a great job of painting a picture that is easy to imagine. I can not wait to see what Young comes up with next. Worth the read!

This was a really good read! This wasn’t my favorite of this series though, because I am extremely biased to the first book and I honestly don’t think it can be topped! This installment had everything I love in the rest of the series, like romance, thrills, paranormal shenanigans and a bit of mystery. This was a great addition to the series and I did enjoy reading it. This book was enthralling and a joy to read. I just find the first book really hard to top. This can be read as a standalone, but you see some recurring characters from past books that make it more enjoyable when you read from the first. I’m glad I got to go on this journey with these books, they were all awesome!
Wow….this book just totally took me by surprise…and in a very good way. While this book may be geared more toward teenagers…..I really truly believe this book is also a great story for adults alike.
I know I can totally relate to Roarke….he truly has this worry knot…and I know I can truly relate as I am the same way even to this day. While Roarke is trying to have a great 7th grade year he also tends to his brother, Carson. With crazy neighbors, middle school antics, girl crushing on Grace and a crazy family….you begin to know how truly Roarke is trying to balance and not worry….The more you dive deep into this book you will understand (as I will not give out spoilers).
I can say is please please please read this book…..teenagers to adult..a few topics are deep….. this book did tug at my heartstrings more than once. Great Read 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is the fifth book in the Love Grows series, it can be read as a stand alone story. As always, the author did an amazing job with the story. I admired the strength and resilience of both Cate and Patti and the unbreakable bond between them. I loved the friendship they had that stood the test of time regardless of the years and hundreds of miles between them. When push came to shove, they were always there for each other. I read the book from cover to cover and was unable to put it down because I needed to know what would become of Cate and Patti. I needed to know what happened that faithful night when a man was killed. This book took so many twists and turns that just seemed to come out of nowhere and left me wanting more. It seems that Kate and Patty were not the only ones harboring secrets for the past 20 years. If you want to know more, you’ll have to read the book yourself. I highly recommend this Book!

Cute and fun reverse age gap, forced proximity, fake fiancé, undercover assignment, workplace romance.
I really enjoyed the character reveal of both the Amara and Petro. We get to know each person little by little, but it doesn’t leave you needing to know ALL the details about each of them right away. In fact, I think the reveal of the past of each of them was very well done without being overplayed (our pasts make up who we are today so those experiences influence how and what we do). This book is told from both her and his POVs so we get an insight into what each of them are thinking and feeling.
I loved the tension between them in the beginning. It wasn’t overdone. I do think it moved a little fast from her not really liking him to looking at him with more intent, but I can appreciate how his opening up to her was enough to soften her resolve against him without it feeling like “instalust”. I did also enjoy that they didn’t just jump into bed together once they realized the other was also attracted but thought out their feelings and the potential consequences (sort of).
I enjoyed the undercover work and the details that came from that. The author did a wonderful job giving enough details of Amara and Petro scouting the Inn to keep you engaged without bogging you down with the nuances of the rolls the characters played.
I also really loved the supporting characters, John (the boss), and the family members of both Petro and Amara. They are (almost) all so supportive of their respective character and bring some added oomph to the story. We also get a quick look at/update on Audrey, who was the FMC in book 3, Not So Far, in this series.
While this is the first book in this series, and of this author, that I’m reading, I’m certainly putting more on my TBR list!

When I read the preface and looked at the cover of the book I knew that this would not be a category I am typically drawn to other than the romance part. Historical Fiction is one I tend to stay clear of because I love history and need the facts to be facts BUT I am very glad I took the chance and read this book. The author gave the book a great balance of both history and fiction. Penny was bought to keep only child Rose company while growing up. Penny was still a slave and did have responsibilities but she was Rose’s best friend first. When Mr. Conrad needs to repay the loan Mr. Falcon lent him there is no way he will have the full amount in time, so Mr. Conrad begs him that he can take anything he sees on his plantation that he wants. Never did Mr. Conrad think that the only way the loan would be repaid would leave his daughter hating him for the rest of her life. When Penny first lays eyes on Leon Falcon she was smitten. However, it would never be more than a slave/Master relationship due to the current treatment of slaves in the south in 1864. But Penny sure could fantasize. I love the way the author took the time to develop the story between Leon and Penny. It might have been the fiction part of the story but it was still a great mix of historical fiction. Most definitely worth the read!!
Divine Vintage has a little bit of everything wrapped into one. There is a love story and a mystery taking place in this interesting story. A vintage store owner, Tess, finds herself drawn to Trey after having visions of an event from a century before that were ignited by touching the vintage clothing of Treys family. A murder suicide was the official story, but is that really what happened? They dive into these visions together to find out what actually happened all those years ago. This story is different from anything I have read and I would recommend to any who love a good mystery!

Another Alignment is here, and it is Van’s senior year Jaychund Games… which don’t go well. Van learned last year that she must accept her emotions, she cannot have a heart of stone. She seems to have swung a little too far in the opposite direction and is feeling ALL the things, about many different subjects. Van continues to struggle with the fact she cannot date Brux, even though she has developed feelings for Ferox. As always, there is a lot of danger, drama, and angst as Van and her team try to complete the next mission they are sent. There is also a character that I was surprised to see!
Each book in this series gets better and I am sad I now have to wait for the next book to be released.

Okay, so book two. Book two was easier for me to follow than the first, and I liked it a lot more. Watching Matt and Julia’s relationship grow as they find a way to wield their new powers in preparations for what’s to come made it easier to fall into this book and relax into the flow. While I’m still not used to this particular writing style, it was easier to understand the way the characters fit together this time. If you’re looking for a reason to give this series another shot, here it is.

The chemistry is sizzling, and you will find yourself laughing and crying throughout. I found myself going through every emotion in this story. You can tell by the writing that this independent author loves writing contemporary romance stories. Enjoys creating characters that make it easy for us to fall in love with and that they feel real. Regan is a Bostonian through and through and tough as nails. Jeremy is the suit looking to redevelop a town that is going to be a tough ride. I’m not gonna lie, I had pretty high hopes for this book and series. I read through the synopsis/cover summary, looked at reviews for the series. I’d heard great things about this book and author.
That being said, I didn’t enjoy the book as much as I thought. This book and the rest in the series are about a multiverse war of some sort. Honestly, I found it extremely difficult to keep everything straight. The writing style wasn’t what I’m used to, and I found it hard to follow. Some of the characters didn’t make sense, but seeing how this is the first book, they’ll probably have a higher purpose in the books to come. It just wasn’t for me, and I couldn’t get into it. That’s not to say someone else won’t be able to, different books speak and connect to different people, it just happened that this particular one didn’t connect with me. I do plan on reading the next two books, because I have the set, so I’m intrigued to see how the author ties everything together in the books to come.

The collection as a whole comes off to, in my opinion, a rougher start. I found it hard to get into the book, to connect with the story and the characters. I found it a bit difficult to keep everything organized in my mind as I read, but as I progressed into the second book, things fell into place and were easier to understand. I did end up liking these book, and maybe one of these days I’ll go back and give the first one another try. The sequel, however is my favorite out of the three.

Lingering Spirits (Soul Connection Book 4) By Nikki Barrett 4 out of 5 Stars
There are so many ways to describe this book. Lingering Spirits is book 4 in the Soul Connection Series. Please go read books 1-3 in book order, you will not regret it at all. Nikki’s stories transcend the normal of human romance and expectation. The first connection of Russ and Hope had me catching my breath and the continuous back and forth between the two kept me going from page to page. Lovers of the Paranormal, Ghost stories, Paranormal romance, and Romance, in general, will love this book, 4 out of 5 stars.
Yet again another amazing book by our favorite author. While this is the fourth installment in the series, it could be read as a standalone. However, I personally recommend that you read the entire series because the characters are amazing, the plot is fantastic, and the author knows just how to keep you interested enough to keep furiously flipping through the pages. Her writing style though is so unique and beautiful that I have fallen in love with ever book of hers that I have read. So if your looking for a good book this weekend I highly recommend this one.
This short novella was a hot steamy read. This is my first read from this author, and I quite enjoyed the book. I loved the chemistry between Dr. D & Emily, it kind of had me wanting more. I personally would have liked more spicey scenes, but to each there own. The ending was a little rushed for me, but all in all I really like the book.

This is definitely another journey that you should take with Van and her team, filled with battles and tribulations and new characters you;ll either love or hate. Either way the only regret you’ll have is if you don’t pick up and read this book, it is that good!

I had high hopes for this third book after devouring the first two in one sitting and Ms. Armillei did not disappoint. We start back out with the Jaychund games which should be a slam dunk thanks in part to Vanessa being the anchoress. Yet when an outside player enters the games everything is up in the air, leaving her to guess what scheme is in play.
Vanessa along with her team is sent on another mission for the elders, but this time she needs to check the third seal to verify for sure it is not cracked. With her powers on the fritz and deep in enemy territory she breaks a Balish rule and is thrust into their own games. With old enemies that are still alive, a virus turning people into demons, a cloaked assassin, and a royal prince she hasn’t heard from in ages, Vanessa learns more about herself and suddenly the reason for this mission is uncertain. Can Vanessa get her anchoress powers under control in time to ensure herself and her team make it out of this mission alive? Is she any closer to finding out who the spy might be in her own tribe? Romance, battle, and games that are reminiscent of the hunger games, what more could you want in a fantasy book!

Hope has a telepathic gift. She connects with people who need her help. Once situation is resolved, she disconnects. However, her newest link is different The first is that she can hear everything going on around him…not just his thoughts. The second is that she can see the world through his eyes…which is a first for her.
Russ is hearing a woman’s voice in his head…and he’s not sure if he’s going crazy or if it’s his conscience. When she informs him that there is a reason for their connection, but she doesn’t know what it is, he is eager for her to just disappear. However, as time passes, they start to form a bond. And, when they figure out their connection, he is willing to do whatever he can to help so he can meet this woman that he can’t get out of his head (literally…she’s always there!).
Once the reasoning for their connection comes to light, the story really takes off and never stops until the end. Secrets becomes truths and it is a doozy! I enjoyed Hope and Russ’ characters. I also enjoyed seeing characters from previous books and the roles that they played. When I got to the last page, I kept hoping there was more because I was so invested in these characters. Another great story in the series!!
This book starts our journey with the anchoress and eventually discovery of herself and why she was created. I had a hard time putting this book down from the description of the characters to the scenery and the plot. It hooked me from line one.
We start off meeting Vanessa as she is struggling with who she is as a 15 year old girl in a wealthy family but not knowing her own path. She faces the typical bullies in school and yet favoritism by elders on the island. When all of a sudden her world is upended by the disappearance of her father, the elder’s belief that he is a traitor, and new information about why Vanessa attends certain special classes on the reservation. Vanessa is then selected to partake in a project, read mission, that she refuses to go on without her best friend Paley. Through breaking rules Vanessa manages to get Paley to the alternate world where they are discovered by the elder and sent on a mission that will forever change the course of Vanessa’s life. This journey is fraught with danger, unknown enemies and self discoveries. Can Vanessa uncover her ture mission or is she doomed to risk her friend’s life in an escapade that ends in failure? This is one journey you must take after all not everything is what it seems!

I loved the descriptions of the clothes throughout. I could picture everything so vividly. The characters drew me into this world of mystery, visions, and love. The story kept me engrossed. Great debut novel!

At first the idea of pretending to be a couple in love and planning a wedding is difficult for them both but for completely different reasons. As the week away together continues they can no longer fight their attraction and it grows into so much more. If you are after a read with great characters, a wonderful storyline and a HEA then this is the book for you. I will be checking out the rest of the series for sure!

When Cate shows up she doesn’t hesitate to drop everything and go back to the town she grew up in. Cate is feeling the pressure to come clean about what happened all those years ago, but Patti doesn’t think anything will come of the new investigation. Will Cate wind up turning herself in to the police and telling the truth? Will the new evidence being unearthed send Cate to prison or will she and Patti be taking their secrets to their graves?
I have read several books by this author and enjoyed them all. If you like paranormal mysteries, thrillers, or crime I highly suggest giving this author a try.

This book had me hooked from the very beginning! Cate killed a man twenty years ago and as the case reopens, she knows that she needs her best friend, Patti, back in her life. They haven’t seen each other in five years though, and as much as this book is about Cate trying to remain a free woman, it’s just as much about the friendship that stands to fall apart if they don’t work together.This is my first book by the author, I really enjoyed her unique writing style and her way of making the writer really understand what the characters are going through in the book. It always makes me happy when I can pick up a book and finish it in that same setting, and that is exactly what happened with this one! The author truly has a talent of keeping the writing hooked, whether it be revealing something at the end of the chapter that makes it impossible to put down or the heart-wrenching moments throughout the book. She also did a wonderful job of developing the story throughout the book, making it harder and harder to put it down. Can’t wait to read more by her!

Lingering Spirits is the fourth book in the Soul Connection series and in my opinion it’s a 4 star story worth reading. When I picked up this book, I was certain I had read the three books prior to it but it turns out I was mistaken. I only realized I missed a book prior to this when I was having trouble visualizing some of the secondary characters and had this sinking feeling I was missing something. It is worth saying that this in no way ruined the storyline for me and I feel a reader would love this story even without prior knowledge of the series. For me, characters were so familiar but just wouldn’t click. I was drawn to this book in particular because of Russ and Hope’s connection. I think this would be a connection intriguing to just about anyone. Overall, I really love the paranormal aspects of this book and the characters. I feel like everyone in the book has great chemistry and it is fun to see how everyone’s lives intertwine. I definitely look forward to more in this genre-especially from this author, in the near future.
Cate and Patti have a friendship that is very close and even though they no longer live in the same city, they would do anything for each other. 20 years ago, Cate killed someone and the only person who knew was Patti. At the end of that fateful summer, Patti left the state and didn’t look back. Now that the case is reopened and Cate is feeling pressure to tell the truth, Patti comes back home to help her friend. The author does a fantastic job keeping the suspense high while weaving the past and present together. This book was easy to fly through because I was completely engrossed in the story and friendship of these two women. It is definitely one I will recommend to my bookish friends!

This was not my first time reading this author, and just like last time, it definitely will not be my last! I did not want to put this book down, of course, this resulted in my reading it very fast and now causing me a book hangover! The characters, the story, everything about this book grabbed me from the beginning. I could relate to this book on so many different levels and that is what I love about this author! The fact that I too have a lifelong friend whom I have had ups and downs with helped me understand the story that much more and this author writes relatable stories that get you in all the feels and keep you wanting more which is exactly what this book did. As always I cannot wait to read what comes next from this author because I know I will not be disappointed!

What a great story! I love the characters, and the story within a story. A hundred-year mistaken belief becomes corrected. Characters take chances on new business ventures, as well as on love. Estranged family members overcome differences and reunite.
