A Veil of Gods and Kings (Apollo Ascending Book 1) by Nicole Bailey – Review by Moriah Venable

A Veil of Gods and Kings (Apollo Ascending, #1)A Veil of Gods and Kings by Nicole Bailey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I went into this just wanting something different to read. I love Greek Mythology but the last series I read was Percy Jackson, so I went into looking for a fun read.

Apollo is half mortal, when his father gives him the ultimatum to either ascend immediately or spend the next year mentoring Prince Hyacinth.

The two start out as enemies but that could change over time. This is a dual POV novel. Sometimes that works for me, where it enhances the story and other times it can feel repetitive. Thankfully this was not the case with this novel.

Greek Mythology tends to have some tragic elements which I have a feeling this will be. I do want to read the myth that this story is based on.

I am looking forward to reading the next novel in the series.
