This was a different kind of book for me in the sense that I went in blindly and was not prepared for the whirlwind this was. From the first chapter I was wondering what was going to happen next and who the real bad guy was. I was super surprised let me tell you! I wish I had some backstory or details on some things mentioned but being my first read by this author I may have missed it and will dive right into it!

Witch Switch is just one of the many stories in this anthology. It is the second book in the series, but you don’t need to read the first to enjoy this one. This is a complete story, so you aren’t left hanging. It is about Cheyenne and Rafe, two people who were not supposed to fall in love. Rafe started out trying to do the right thing and following through on the marriage arranged by his family, but instead he chooses love. His former bride-to-be is not happy with this and does what she can to force the original marriage. Because it is short, the story moves quickly and things resolve quickly. I enjoyed this story, though I do feel a bit more setup or background info on the story or characters would make this story even better.

I really like finding new authors and books. This was just the ticket. I like how there is just enough drama to balance out the romance and it’s my absolute favorite genre paranormal romance. The characters are well written and I felt as though I was right in the midst of the action.
The author does a real good job of brining the characters to life. I like how there is a bit of drama and that the story wasn’t predictable. The author really had a refreshing idea and really brought it to life. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Switching witches is always a bad idea. But for Rafe and Cheyenne it seemed like the best option. As Rafe chooses love over his arranged marriage. Many emotions will be exposed, along with evil vs good. I really enjoyed reading this paranormal romance. This anthology has many new authors for me. Which always makes reading exciting. This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Witch Switch is part of the Midnight Magic Anthology. It can be read as part of the Bewitch Me Series. Witch Switch is the second book in the Bewitch Me Series.
Cheyenne is going to get everything she has wanted. Or at least she hopes she will. There is a problem with that though; someone switches places with her. Will she be able to get out of this without losing everything? The quote I chose for Cheyenne is: “Wait. Don’t ask. Not here. Not stolen like this. You know I love you and want to spend my life with you but we have to figure this out first. Or else our families will war.”
Rafe is tired of playing the one who always follows offers. He wants something and for once he’s going after it. The only problem is his fiance isn’t going to let him go as easily. The quote I chose for Rafe is: “You feel so incredibly good, and this feels so right. It doesn’t matter what plans my parents or the council might have had. We deserve happiness and to choose who we’re going to spend our lives with, and you’re everything I want.”
This was such a cute book! As an Early Childhood Educator who often sees school-aged children sometimes struggle to find an early reader chapter book that interests them I think this book fits perfectly for any animal lover, especially a child who has a cat or a dog (or both). I enjoyed that the chapters were short and easy to stop if a young child was having some difficulty and getting frustrated and I enjoyed the story overall! I also think the story is relatable for kids because Toby was influenced by the next-door neighbour aka the cat which many kids can relate to with peer pressure in school but when reading it may not realise that’s what they are learning about which is a bonus in the eyes of a parent! I will be recommending this book to family and friends as well as fellow educators working in the school system and parents wanting to help their kids succeed in reading!

This quirky and fun read was enjoyed by my 9 year old niece. There were plenty of face palms as we read along to Toby’s quarrels with the neighbourhood cat. The story provided laughs, moments of nervousness, and a happy ending! It was an enjoyable “tail” throughout and provided the opportunity to expand a child’s vocabulary as well. The biggest lesson we learned from this story is that all dogs are good dogs!

What an amazing book. I read this with my daughter and she loved it as well. It felt interactive and exciting to read together. I always know it is a success when we read it a few nights in a row and we have already read this multiple times. A great story and that the family will thoroughly enjoy.

This book was so cute. I think children just learning to read would enjoy reading about Toby and his constant struggle to be a good dog, even if the naughty cat won’t let him. I greatly enjoyed this book! I really liked Joanie and had so much empathy for her plight. This poor thing was having the worst month ever! I thought the plot was well developed and it kept me interested with the twists and turns. I enjoyed seeing Joanie learn from her mistakes. I wish I could say the same for Lonna. I really felt like I could do without this character. I’m not sure the book would have been much different without her. I actually like the love interests and liked that Joanie had choices. I absolutely adored Joanie’s relationship with her grandfather and would have loved to see more of that present day. All in all, I highly recommend this book. It is a page-turner.

I for one really liked this story this author had an idea like I’ve never really read before. Sometimes it takes me a while to get into these types of books but I didn’t have even a slight problem sinking right in. I simply couldn’t put it down. I spent half my time trying to read faster and half trying to make it last. I’m definitely looking forward to more from this author. The characters are complex and pull you into their world completely. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. Four big stars and highly recommended!

This book had me torn at first. I didn’t know if I liked it but after reading more of it, I enjoyed it. I love the medical and scientific aspects that were entwined in this book. The author did an amazing job with keeping the book entertaining. I found myself trying to find out what was going to happen next before continuing to read. A different take on the typical werewolf story. The storyline and characters were well developed, definitely not the typical wolf finding mate type story. This was a whole new take on werewolves and I enjoyed the originality. This book has mystery, science, twists and turns, betrayals, and so much more. I found myself getting lost in the pages while Joanie kept discovering more things about her family and her research and how it ties together. She is going through a tough time so moving to her grandfather’s manor that has been left to her might be just what she needs. There are quite a bit of characters in this story and they each play a part in how this story unfolds. This is a new author to me and I’m glad I decided to take a chance and dive right in. I recommend reading this book if you want something original and mysterious.

I love reading books about different kinds of human beings like shifters and vampires. This book looks at werewolves or lycanthropy from a viewpoint that it’s a medical disorder. The disorder was rare but has become more prevalent towards the end of the twentieth century. The concept of this story is very intriguing, the characters are generally believable and the plot twists kept my attention.

The Wolf’s Shadow is the first book in The Lycanthropy Files by Cecilia Dominic. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Dominic, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her stories- but let’s be honest here, she already had me at werewolves…. This is a intriguing paranormal romance with a bit of a medical/scientific suspense happening along the way. There’s lots going on, but in a great, keep you avidly reading kind of way. With action, mystery, adventure, danger, high stakes, deception, secrets, dramatic developments, and more- this book definitely held my attention right till the very last page. I really loved her original take on werewolf lore and am excited to have found another author to add to my must read list- especially one who has quite a lot of other books for me to one-click to explore. This book was mesmerizing with it’s story line as well as the details it held. I was truly captivated with the adventure as well as the mythical components and legends of the Vikings. I was captivated and the author knew exactly how to keep the reader enticed as they read on! Loved this read!
Personally I loved the fine details that made me feel I was in the setting it self that the story takes place in. The ways of the people and the legends that are spoken of, it was very real. I really loved those components. I really enjoyed Finn’s coming of age as well! Finn came off to me as a sweet character at first glance, seeing what he went through in this adventure, really shaped his character growth. He was a character you rotted for through out the novel. The book was very hard to put down and captivating thoroughly in more ways than one! For sure, I am very much looking forward to the next in the series!
Amazing series that is a “legend” of a read! Not one to be passed up at any costs! I highly do recommend this must read book! It truly holds its appeal and captivation upon its reader! Loved it!

The beauty of the cover caught my eye and the synopsis caught my full attention, I could not stop reading this book once I started! I read the ebook copy and I have also ordered a copy for my bookshelf.
It is evident that the Author has put a lot of time, effort and attention to detail into every. single. word. This book is beautifully written in so many ways; engaging plot line, great character development and amazingly vivid world building. You will be transported to another time, wishing for a glass of wine while you read.
We are given an authentic and culturally historic read mixed with a slow-burn romance that is both enjoyable and informative. Wine making is a new concept for me and the Author wrote in a way that you can easily understand words and phrases without getting lost in the lingo.
I love the way the Author had the main characters meet without the knowledge of their business roles to each other. I have to add that Julia is a woman way before her time! She shows great strength and resilience against the constant obstacles in her way.
Add this to the Happily Ever After bookshelf as a stand-alone, or continue with the series. I highly recommend this read and I look forward to what comes next!

This is one of the cutest children’s books I’ve read this year. I don’t want to be spaghettified. Two elementary students and Mrs. Brooks, the elderly librarian (at least that’s what they thought) were trapped in the library when the Wartians attacked looking for glorp. Bubbles, ray guns, and secrets came out. Could old Mrs. Brooks save them? The adventures began…I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard. My grandson wanted to know what I was reading so I started reading this to him for bedtime. He’s loving hearing about kids like him helping to save the world. What little kids don’t like reading stories where they are the hero of big problems? I found the primary characters strong and brave. They had fear but worked through it. I loved how a little MIB attire was in there. I found the story fun because it reminds that somethings aren’t quite as they seem. You have to read the story to find out what I mean. This is a story that even adults will get a giggle out of. The plot is humorous. The characters can remind you of yourselves. Overall entertaining book. Loved it.

Taming of the Few is an exciting urban fantasy, the first in the Guardians of the PHAE series. People around their world are finding dormant magical abilities and mutations manifesting, and facing discrimination and violence as people respond in fear. PHAE have established a haven in Ireland, attracting “Unhidden” who have no option but to leave their own lives behind. This is an engrossing and entertaining book. The characters really make it for me – they feel like people I know (albeit with paranormal abilities I’m not aware of my friends having!). We learn what makes them feel comfortable and safe, and then watch as they’re taken away from their comfort zone. There are plenty of moments of lightness and character-focused scenes as well as the action and drama. One thing I really like is that the Unhidden aren’t overpowered. Many have niche and specific abilities, or even inconvenient physical mutations. This means that those who object to the Unhidden can pose a real threat, with the numbers and aggression to have the upper hand. It also means characters can’t rely wholly on their abilities to keep themselves and each other safe. I’d recommend this book to fans of superhero stories like the X-Men, with characters learning to cope with new and growing powers. It gets five stars from me, and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

It’s about time! I absolutely adore the fierce writing of this author, capturing this all-female black-ops group, and those few men that they have approved of joining them on this fight. Unlike most military or action-based novels, this one really focuses on the T.B.I that Nadia suffers from and what that means with respect to day to day life for her as well as her nearest and dearest. Having grown up with two parents in the social work field, one who worked specifically with people that had Acquired Brain injuries, I very much enjoyed this novel and how it brought this struggle to light.
There were several twists and turns and you are left wondering if things will ever look up for these folks. Not only that, but the depth in which the reader can connect with the characters, their current mission(s,) and the world building, is very well done, and has me chomping at the bit to read the first installment of this awesome series. I look forward to learning more about the different characters within these pages and am sending a virtual high five to this author!

This book really gave me all the feels, it tugged at my heart strings as I read, and I really felt a lot for the characters the story circled around. I found the characters grew into something nice as the story went on, and the suspense, it was very real, and the power this book possessed was very genuine!
This was a new author for me. Certainly will not be my last book to read by them. This book literally swallowed me whole. And would nit provide a separation until I had finished it. The writing was amazing, as I said I was held until the end. There was a lot of action going on from things being dangerous and life threatening, and not really knowing how things would turn out. The book was very un-predictable. I really felt for the two characters Wyatt and Selena. Especially Selena. Her past made her who she was today, and who she would become. The moments these two shared were very intimate and sweet in a special way. It was nice to see they had each other’s backs as well as their character growth. The book was a great read and one I truly enjoyed, it was a book that really put everything in the line, and succeeded!
Amazing author and truly amazing writing! The story came together very nicely. I found there was really no plot holes and the story flowed at a good pace as well as held your interest to the fullest. I am glad I got to experience this book. I loved it truly! I highly recommend this read as it is for sure a must read!
Another great book in the series and this by far is my favorite. Following Heart after he is voted out as a Ronan, he chooses to travel his late wife’s road trip. Along the way he starts talking to Mark, one of the investigators for his and Crystals accident, where it becomes evident, she was meant to be in his life. This book brings one surprise after another while bringing hope and love. Fantastic!

So, I may start letting some time filter through before reviewing some books because I’m a little miffed at the ending…. I mean, come on! This read…. Chloe is not your typical main character. She’s a little weak, a lotta insecure and she stumbles more than Ella Enchanted does; but, she is understandably relatable. That selfess motivation to help those around you does have a tendency to wear you down and some of those enlightening moments really stuck with me. I really enjoyed that theme throughout this book. This series is a spin off series from the author’s Court of Bitter Thorn series. I think I would have fared better having read the other series previously, but I fared decent during my read. Quintus is a fae from the fae realm that shows up randomly needing Chloe’s help. There is some definite tension from a history that isn’t completely conveyed throughout this series; so I spent a good moment wondering what I missed. I can’t count how many times my brain said “Go Quintus!” while reading, despite not know the full story. I’m definitely team Quintus! A pretty slow burn book with forced proximity, a good morality and a cliff hanger ending that will take me a minute to get over. Where’s book 2?
