The Scent of Gardenias by Lorraine Haas – Review by Rayne East
The Scent of Gardenias by Lorraine Haas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Historical coming of age fiction
A wonderful journey with relatable characters and exceptional world building. This book is based in the 1940s and follows Margaret as she grows from a teenager to a young woman. Politics, war, inequality, affairs and death this story covers it all. Highly emotional and thought-provoking, I was quickly swept along for the ride. The author has delivered an exceptional story.
