This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the first book. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series to help your enhancement of the characters. This is one of my favorites in this series. This is a well written story about Emma and her adventure in solving mysteries. In this story her case and Jeremy’s case entangle each other. But things are not what they seem in either of their cases. It leaves both of them evaluating their own lives. This is a great story that I really enjoyed and you don’t want to miss what happens. This is an engaging story that is hard to put down. The characters have great growth and just add to the story. I enjoyed how they were able to pull me into their story and had me coming back for more. I can’t wait to see what is next in this series for Emma. I highly recommend this book and this author.
I can’t believe that this series is over! The Hawke Family has been such a big part of my year of getting back into reading and I will miss them. This is Byron and Steele’s love story and it did not disappoint. When Byron realizes who Steele really is you can feel his struggle between continuing his “betrayal” to the only family he really knows and his unequivocal love for Steele. You feel the pain, the angst, the questioning and so much more that at times it will break your heart. This last book really pulls together so much of the series and you won’t be disappointed to read it. Again, I recommend reading the series in order and I personally can’t wait for the second Hawke generation.

This is the fourth book in the Notebook Mysteries series. I have enjoyed all the books in this series and this one is just as good. I live how the characters of Emma and her partner/lover Jeremy’s characters have grown and developed through this series. This story starts off fast paced and has you gripped with the pair of them on the hunt for theives when a train crash derails their plan and mission. Can Emma and Jeremy keep their eyes on the target or will the theives escape?
Once the return how that isn’t the end of their adventures when both of them are set on cases where nothing is has it seems and when the past comes back to Jeremy’s life what effect will it have on everyone around them, including Jeremy, Emma and Emma’s Dad.
This is one mystery that you won’t be able to put down and you will keep reading till the end to find out what happens.

Man Oh Man this is a steamy romance like no other I have read. This is Lady Celia Buchanan and Gabriel Rose’s story. I have read many of her books but none compare to this one. This story has so much more steam and hot moments. I could not help falling for the characters in this story. Two completely different worlds, coming together can stir up quite a story. Bring on book 2!

One of my favorite characters is back! Emma continues to solve mysteries in this fourth installment of the Notebook Mysteries series. This is the perfect series for anyone who likes Historical Fiction, mystery, intrigue, action, and so much more. The two main characters have a great chemistry, and it makes for a smooth ride of a story. This author hooked me from the beginning with vivid imagery that pulled me right into the action alongside Emma on her adventures. Like the installments before this, it is a quick, fast-paced read that will only leave you wanting more. The book immediately begins with the excitement of a train wreck, and doesn’t slow down until the end. Solving cases is what Emma and Jeremy do best. However, this book hits close to home with events from the past that affect the whole group. I really enjoy reading this series. “Emma woke suddenly, feeling like she was falling. She reached out for Jeremy, and then everything went black.” This is one of my favorite authors for young adult mysteries. Emma is such a brave and strong young woman. She is not afraid of much and will take risks that most won’t. Her investigative skills are fantastic. Her little black notebook has many secrets that are broken. The characters in are so well-developed. You can feel the interest between Emma and Jeremy. The opening of the book will grab you and not let go until you are finished. I also love how the author writes several subplots within the story (plot twists, if you may), and they end up fitting like they were natural. This is book 4 of the series and it just keeps getting better. An enjoyable, quick read that young sleuths will love.
WOW WOW OH MY GOSH THIS BOOK WAS SO GREAT! I have not read a book by this author and now I find myself looking up all of her work. This novel was expertly written and was one that I did not want to stop reading but had to force myself to do that to go to work. The way that I was able to read and see it from the perspective of both of the main characters, Quinn and Kieran was so instrumental as it helped me understand both characters. Quinn is terrified of the onslaught of unmated male werewolves that come out of the woodwork that want to be with her that she flees into the arms of Kieran, the only one who is not interested in her for her or her kingdom. Kieran was skeptical but decided to accept and when she left and had him hunting for her for over 100 years until she was finally back with him. They go through so many different trials and tribulations, and it was such a great read. I cannot wait to reread this over and over again.

Misfortune of Vision: Druid’s Brooch Series #4 Christy Nicholas 4 out of 5
First and foremost, I absolutely love the cover of this novel. While it’s much like those in the rest of the series the colors to me, are gorgeous. Moving on, I’ve come to expect rich, vivid storytelling from Christy Nicholas. Typically my genre of choice is a thriller of some sort so the Druid’s Brooch series is a testament to how addictive great writing can be. While these books don’t need to be read in order (I actually bounce from book to book) I have been invested in seeing if the next book really does beat the one before it. If you are interested in historical writing and a mix with fantasy I would recommend giving this book a go.

Lady Celia Buchanan is about to meet her match when she meets Gabriel Rose. Their chemistry sizzles and the sparks fly, with danger adding even more intensity to the whole story. What happens makes for a captivating read. Kara Shieldmaiden of Fire is the fourth book in The Forerunner Series by Jay Veloso Batista. This fantastic series has well and truly pulled me into the exciting adventures, and this fourth instalment continues all the action we have been following since Book One. I love how every new addition to the series helps to build a bigger picture, adding even more detail, depth, and development to what has come before. As this action-packed saga is full of historical details, Vikings, battles, violence, danger, Norse mythology, paranormal/supernatural elements, emotion, challenges, mystery, suspense, intrigue, and lots of dramatic developments. As I have mentioned previously, and what makes this story/series so engrossing, is the fact that Jay Veloso Batista has a real gift for telling an epic story- with an attention to detail that sets the scene so fully that the reader becomes part of the story and involved in all the action. Jay Veloso Batista weaves a wonderfully detailed and descriptive story, with lots of clever touches that succeeded in keeping me glued to the pages, reading avidly to discover what would happen next. I am fully invested this saga now, thoroughly enjoying the journey that the author, and characters, are taking us on. This story wouldn’t be the same without these interesting characters, or the fantastic worldbuilding that Jay Veloso Batista has mastered so brilliantly. Can’t wait to see where we go from here! Or can he? What happens when one night his life changes on a dime, up now you are no longer a commoner but a Marquess instead? Lady Celia is tired of being pushed to choose. This is only the second book by Amy McKinley I have read, but I will definitely be reading more of her work. I loved that the female lead was strong on her own, she had a mind of her own and stood her ground. While this book is the 7th in the series, it can easily be read as a stand alone without much confusion. There are definite advantages to reading the series in order though, it provides more information on how the families interact, how things have come to be as they are, as well as gives more depth to many of the characters.
I would recommend reading this story, in fact, the whole series.

This is based on the real life experiences as seen through the eyes of Michelle Naget. Ms. Lewis did a through job in interviewing Michelle for the details in this book. The story started with the attacks by Germany on France during the second World War. The Naget family first has to flee their home. When they return a few days later, nothing will ever be the same. The Germans began controlling not only the small village of Braquis, where the Michelle’s family live, but even invade their home. Michelle’s step-father (Father) works in his tool shop. Mother teaches Michelle various domestic duties as they are made to serve the different German military officers that have dominated their home throughout the war. Eventually Michelle also must take on the duties of the village’s PTT (which is basically like a mail carrier). Through all the horrors of war, Michelle does the best she can as she tries to survive all the tragedies she had to witness every day. This story was both heartbreaking and captivating.

I first came across this book a month ago and was impatiently waiting for it to finally come out. It is the first book I have ever read by Lexi C. Foss, and it did not disappoint me. It has honestly become my new favorite book and I have been gushing about it to my best friend which led to her finally purchasing it. The book begins with a short poem of sorts that gives some highlights on the story. Being told by not one but two POVs: Quinn is an unmated Omega wolf that is now the last remaining member of her royal family. Kieran is an Alpha Prince that was avoiding the war for her hand. Seems simple in the beginning.
Quinn goes to Kieran essentially proposing to him. As the last remaining member of her royal family, she is to be the next Queen of Blood Sector, the heart of the V-Clan sectors. She goes to him out of desperation and for his magical healing ability. Before they are to truly be mated, she disappears sending her betrothed on a century long game of hide and seek. One hundred years of chasing her across the sectors and he finds her in X-Clan territory, she could have run but chose to stay to heal the broken Omega she was trying to save. Intrigued by her choice and showing that she is as a true queen to put others before herself, Kieran heals the omega before taking his betrothed back to Blood Sector. Only the Quinn he remembered that snuck into his territory a century ago was long gone her soul, a combination of her human self and her wolf, was disassociated and broken. After an extended period of healing Quinn, she finally wakes up. A century of keeping her family’s secrets and being on the hunt for their killer had left her isolated within her own mind. Sanctuary, the one secret her family kept from there pack, was Quinn’s deepest secret. Both afraid and relieved to be home she finally begins to let Kieran in, he has proven his self-deserving of some truth. She had run all those years ago tracking a lead in the murder of her parents, a murder driven by the desire to learn the location of Sanctuary. Within the span of only a couple of months Quinn’s entire world is flipped upside down and back again. Everything she thought she knew is discovered to be a lie, everything that is except for Kieran, their bond, their love is true. His only motive in life was to love and worship her in every way that she deserved.
I couldn’t put down Blood Sector, finishing the book in one sitting spanning from eleven p.m. through three thirty a.m. I couldn’t stop and the author, Lexi C. Foss is incredible. The world she creates, the characters, the emotions. Blood Sector took me on a rollercoaster, I laughed, I cried, I felt betrayed, afraid and ultimately overjoyed. If you love a book with love and mystery. A book that not only makes you root for one of the leads but both equally, seeing their story unfold and wanting nothing but happiness for them in every sense of the word, then Blood Sector is a must read. While there is a second book to the V-Clan series set to release in August of 2023, this is a complete story of Quinn and Kieran, as the second book is about other characters from Blood Sector.

I absolutely love the way the characters are introduced and how we are able to connect with Clayton ‘Clay’ on a personal level before really getting to the plot. It brings in a comedic aspect to the suspense filled adventure with some heartache, some doubt, some mystery and just a lot of action as a whole. The writing itself draws the reader in, and I personally felt like I was too intrigued to not continue reading. Humans make mistakes, and we shouldn’t be defined by those mistakes, be it if they were in the past, are in the present, or to happen in the future. I feel this novel touched on that very well.
I think that this author really knows how to build up his stories all around, and to keep the reader guessing by staying one step ahead, but also letting the reader in on the thoughts of the characters to the point where we feel we know where the next step will land, and who really knows if they’ll misstep. I guess you will have to read it and find out! I look forward to reading more of this series, and author. Worth a read!

I absolutely love the way the characters are introduced and how we are able to connect with Clayton ‘Clay’ on a personal level before really getting to the plot. It brings in a comedic aspect to the suspense filled adventure with some heartache, some doubt, some mystery and just a lot of action as a whole. The writing itself draws the reader in, and I personally felt like I was too intrigued to not continue reading. I have read shifter romances before, but this one was…different. It was the first time I’d heard of knotting and…I’m still not sure what it is?? I feel like the world building was a little confusing, but it was interesting and original. One thing I had a big issue with is that Kieran is referred to as “dark,” but…. I REALLY don’t see it. The book description made him seem really dark and demanding and “i take what i want when i want it,” but he was nothing but sweet to her. He was very thoughtful, considerate. Which is fine, and I loved his character, it’s just not what was advertised in the blurb. Also, most of their problems happened from them jumping to conclusions or making assumptions, and it just got old after a while. The spicy scenes were okay, albeit kind of confusing. And the ending was just kind of disappointing. All of the buildup and mystery…for that?? I do think the world the author has created, is interesting and fresh, and I was entertained for a majority of the book, so that’s why I gave it four stars.

Fast paced, quick read….I was so enthralled that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see what happened at the end! My first read from Armand Rosamila, but surely won’t be my last! I can’t wait to delve into the 2nd book of this magnificent new series. Clayton is an ex-cop down on his luck. Based upon some poor life choices, Clayton lost his job & his family, but he is determined to turn his life around and win his family back and pursue another career in law enforcement. Clayton is working as a repo man, when his boss has him repoing a boat that is involved with a drug cartel. Can Clayton help the FBI, save his sister & out run the drug cartel that is after him? Kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish! Can’t wait to read book 2!

This book had everything, it had slow-burn romance, spicy scenes (lots and LOTS of spicy scenes), action, and a morally grey love interest. Gabriel Rose is perfection. He’s confident, he’s sarcastic and witty, he’s so very thoughtful and considerate with Celia, and he’s a dom in bed. My only issue with him is that he calls her his property….I understand calling someone “yours” but I cannot forgive him for repeatedly calling her his “property.” Celia frustrated me a lot because she just kept worrying about what the ton would think, and honestly she kind of made things worse by trying to help. Other than that, I loved her, and she is the perfect sub for Gabriel.

Scandalously Yours (Titans Of Manhattan Book 5) By Anise Storm
I highly recommend this book! This can be read as a stand-alone, this is my first book by this Author, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! I read this in about 24 hours, anytime I had a free minute I had to read it. It had my interest from the beginning, and kept me wanting more til the very last page! I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series!

Delightful story with a handful of quirky characters that will leave the reader captivated. Full of twists & turns, with just the right amount of humor….Highly recommend, even for those (like myself) who have not yet read Pride & Prejudice. The Girl Who Escaped by Mark Nolan was a riveting, action-packed novel that takes off from the very first page!
Angie is a normal college student on Spring Break in South Florida with her three friends. They are enjoying a night out when things go horribly wrong when a man abducts the four of them. Angie is the only one who escapes. Thinking she is safe when she literally crosses paths with a policeman, she finds herself going from being a victim to a suspect. This was only the beginning of a story full of twists and turns. Nothing is what it seems! There are so many layers to uncover within the 318 or so pages.
The book was told from the point of view of different characters, even one of the baddest characters gives the book a voice…which I thought was fantastic. His chapters give insight into what the detectives and FBI agents haven’t discovered yet and what actually motivates him to do the evil things he does.
If the plot didn’t have me hooked, Cody, the IED-sniffing war dog, sure did! He was a great character, along with his owner, Jake. These two characters have their own books, The Jake Wolfe Series. Angie and Brenda were strong female leads as well!
Mark Nolan is a new writer to me, and I am looking forward to reading more books he has written and getting to know Jake and Cody better.

Misfortune of Vision is the fourth book in the Druid’s Brooch Series by Christy Nicholas. This is a historical fantasy- with prophecy, religion (Christianity vs Druidism) adventure, magic, drama, mystery, aging, challenges, folklore, and fantastic world building. I have said it before, and I will keep saying it over and over again- I really love the attention to detail and vividly descriptive storytelling that Ms. Nicholas excels at- it brings her stories to life and makes them very realistic, believable, and entirely immersive. As with the other books in this series that I have read, this is really well written, intriguing, and engaging. The story pulled me in and kept my attention right from the beginning. The character/s are complex, fully realised individuals who were cleverly crafted. The story was given an extra element of interest by making the main character Orlagh quite old. Her “life experience” was immediately recognisable and gave her a realistic and relatable quality, even by today’s standards. Things like struggling with daily tasks, getting tired easily, having to rely on others for help, how her body has changed as she has gotten older, experiencing the loss of family and friends who have passed on before her, and feeling her mortality as she acknowledges that her remaining time is limited- are all things we still deal with I our modern world. I found it difficult to connect with Declan though, and I’m not entirely sure we were meant to? I haven’t read the books in this series in sequence- instead picking books by random- thankfully each book is able to be read as a standalone- but I have read enough of the series now to see a lot of interconnected details, a thread of sorts that runs through the entire series. I can see a link between books in the series, as we travel through time- and am appreciating the ‘bigger picture’ that is being built. Looking forward to continuing the series!
