I’m not sure where to start with The Letter Carrier. This book knocked me off my feet and pulled at every emotion I had. I cried at many different points throughout this story and shouted with joy at others. I will not soon forget this experience.
Michelle Naget and her family hear of Germans getting closer to their hometown and gather their essentials to flee with so many other families. They are unsuccessful in this attempt at escaping the Nazis and are sent back to be under the new reign of terror. They must endure through having the enemy living inside their home, providing food and services for them and being under the most intense scrutiny. Michelle made some friends but learned many unimaginable lessons from a young age as she would “do what must be done.”
This was such a heartbreaking, eye-opening experience into the atrocities that so many people endured during this harrowing point in history. I feel as though everyone should read this and put yourself in the shoes of the family in midst of this terror and gain a sliver of insight into how long and frightening this truly was.

Theresa Sederholt always knocks it out of the park, and this is no different! With the family together again in the fourth book of A Fitz Series, there is drama, romance, suspense, and murder. The flow of the story is amazing, and I continued to enjoy the different points of view throughout.
Andy is no stranger to the prejudices towards gay men, but now he also has Parkinson’s which adds an extra level of difficulty in every area of his life. His daughter, Stella, means the world to him with her strength and resilience. Helping her grow into her own path with her deafness and her deceased mother seems to present its own unique struggles, but he finds a delicate balance with the help from his family. Andy’s ex, Stephen, tries to rekindle their flame but Andy knows there is no way back to the love they once had. All too suddenly, a serial killer intent on murdering gay men changes their lives forever.
I read this in record time because I could not get enough. With so many unpredictable turns in our wonderful characters’ lives, I needed to know what happened as soon as humanly possible. You will not be disappointed in this jaw-dropping book!

Bake Happy is the final book in the Bake Believe Trilogy. I feel these books should be read in order, to get the best experience. This book is just as fun as the first two and the recipes are yummy! Great story for young and adult readers alike. I can’t recommend it enough! Reviewed by @mimimadge

There is no lull in this entire book! It is nonstop action from beginning to end and I breezed right through it. I loved that Ashali is a force to be reckoned with.
Ashali is spending Spring Break with her friend in Florida where she runs into Jase. He seems like a nice guy but sometimes appearances can be deceiving. It turns out he is actually a vigilante, the Blue Horseman, who Ashali was never very fond of. She has some secrets of her own though and it was fun to see each one come to light.
Ashali and the Blue Horseman is a great sci-fi meets romance with a lot of adventure. This is a book I found incredibly easy to visualize which is always fun! I recommend picking this up and absorbing the world created by Jordan Elizabeth.

After reading the first 3 books in the series I knew that this would be so great! I have not read any other books by this author until now and that will change! She has such a great way of writing these vampire romance novels that had me captivated and unable to think about anything else other than finishing them. Each book was just a great continuation of the series. Add this to your reading list as this is the best vampire series I have read in a long time and I cannot wait to reread them over and over.

This is the third book from Sylvia Black, and it is just as good as the other two that I have read! Each one of these books showcase a strong alpha vampire that will stop at nothing to make sure their mate is safe. My Darling Rogue is the first book in the A Wicked Rogues Romance series. We have strong, smart, feisty, stubborn Lady Celia and dark, brooding, dangerous, and handsome Gabriel Rose. These two find themselves continuously thrown and drawn together. They keep fighting it though they both seem taken with each other. Very much an “everyone can see it” situation. Although Gabriel is obsessed with Celia he thinks he has no right to vie for her affections because she is a lady and he is a bastard. Then something happens to change all that and these two can finally be together but Celia isn’t sure she can be what Gabriel needs.
I found Celia and Gabriel’s relationship fun but frustrating. They were both so stubborn, sometimes to the point of foolishness. It was nice to see them get their act together. This book was interesting and there was a bit of adventure. Gabriel is awesome as is Celia and I love the relationships they have with their family and friends. The book contains some triggering elements so be aware. It was a very enjoyable book.

The second book in the series did not disappoint! In the second story it starts off with Delilah who has gone through some horrific things after being captured and taken away from Tuscano. This story perfectly weaves in the continuation from the first story and was one that was just as great. The way that the author weaves the tales of these dark vampire romance novels has me entranced. I cannot wait to continue to read the continuation of the books and see what else happens!

WOW OH WOW!!! This book is so great I read the book in less than 24 hours! Vampire series are a guilty pleasure of mine and this one ticked all of the boxes for me! This romance book was such a cute fun read. I have not read a book by this author, and I was pleasantly surprised with how cute and original the story was! I could not put this book down. The fact that this was about a condom making factory had me rolling in fits of laughter. Reader’s Thoughts: This was my first time reading a novel written by Theresa Sederholt. Although I’m Not Your Difference is the fourth book in the Fitz Series it can be read as a standalone. The characters in the novel sent me on an emotional roller coaster ride. At times I disliked Stephen for what he was doing to Andy. And at times I wanted Andy to realize how remorseful Stephen truly was. The love Andy shared with Stella tugged at my heart strings. And the selflessness displayed by Andy…….WOW! MJ and Fitz as side characters really brought life to the story. I cant wait to get my hands on the remainder of this series.

What a powerful riveting story. This book was based on a true story and follows Michelle Naget’s story and the French amidst the Nazi invasion. It was powerful yet so tasteful and well done. I loved that graphic details were not necessary due to the skill of the author. I am a huge fan of historical fiction, but this book is just on a different scale. It is a story worth every minute, and I wish that everyone, from teen and up, could read it.

An enjoyable and entertaining romantic comedy, which gave me some pure escapism whilst reading it, as I was transported to the tropical Postscript Island and the P.S. Resort. Painter Marissa and the now billionaire condom manufacturer, Weston have a difficult past, but now they have come face to face again on the Island. After Weston fled to the states, Marissa threw herself into her painting and is now studying for an art degree, whilst helping her parents run the resort. She’s also dating again, but although the local cafe owner is sweet he’s also safe. Her life is turned upside down when Weston returns to the Island to help his Mum sell her boutique. Weston, who bought a small condom manufacturing plant, which turned out to be very successful and profitable is now a billionaire, living the perfect life, or so he thought, until he saw Marissa again. The couple need to decide if they can put the past behind them if they are to have a future. I loved Marissa and Weston and their chemistry definitely came across in the narrative, leading to some steamy scenes. I liked the witty banter between the couple and the innuendos added humour to the story. I liked the ‘will they won’t they’ element of the storyline, and the added plot twists, involving a mystery kept me hooked from start to finish. Although it can be read as a standalone story, I look forward to reading the previous books in the series now, so that I can return to the P.S. Resort!

Michelle Naget is a young girl whose life has been one of happiness, family and fun, she lives with her parents and four brothers of which, she is the middle child, in the small village of Braquis, they are close and life is good, but when news starts arriving about the Nazi invasion, Michelle has no idea just how much her life is going to change.
It was a slow change at first, there were rumblings of fighting breaking out, but it wasn’t near to their village, but slowly, more and more people were seen walking through the town with only what they could carry and it was a shock to Michelle and her younger brothers when they joined them. They packed only the essentials and fled their home, this journey was full of danger and reality soon descends on the Naget family as events cause their worst fears to come to pass, a troop of Nazi soldiers find them, but one of the family has split off and they do not know what has happened to them as they are escorted back to their home, but it is not as it was left, their belongings are strewn in the road, as are those of their neighbours. That is not the worst of it, they now find that because they have space in their home, it has been requisitioned by the Nazi’s for their officers and now the Naget family have to serve their oppressors and become almost slaves in their own home.
This becomes their life four the next four years as the Nazi’s invasion continues, they are treated like slaves, food is scarce and school and work are the only things they are allowed to do, apart from attending the local church, this becomes a lifeline for Michelle as she desperately hangs onto her faith. Amid tensions with the other villagers, who question their loyalty and the threat of harm constantly hovering over their heads the Naget family take their family motto to heart “We do what must be done” and keep it there as they pray for the Allies to come and set them free, the only thing which keeps them sane are the letters they receive, for Michelle that is from a young man they met while fleeing from their home, Légère.
As tensions increase and the line between life and death becomes akin to a knife’s edge, can Michelle keep herself and her family safe, or will one of them make the wrong move and end it all? This is an emotionally stirring tale of the effects occupation can have from the perspective of a young person who is coming of age and how war and stress can become a part of life. It will leave you feeling like you have been through the ringer with the characters, as you struggle to put down this engaging rollercoaster of a book.

I love the idea this book is based on, a true blind date in which to get to know the other person. It feels exciting and intriguing. Add in the characters from this book and it was always going to be an amazing story. I was fully pulled into their story and loved watching them navigate their lives and their relationship. They are so different from each other and yet fit together so well. This is a new author to me and I loved the approach she took to this book. It was easy to read and yet pulled you in effortlessly. I connected with the characters with ease and really got behind them. I am looking forward to the next book in this series, especially if it is as good as this one.

I literally ‘binge read’ this box set, of the first three books in ‘The Aloha Series’, and I thoroughly enjoyed all three stories. Each of the historical romance stories are set in the tropical islands of Hawaii in the late 1960’s. The author does a wonderful job of making the beautiful setting of Hawaii come to life through her descriptive narrative, which made me feel like I was actually there, and immersed in the stories. In book one, ‘Try Easy’, we are in 1968, and introduced to heroic surfer, Keoni and tourist, Lou, in a slow burn vacation fling romance. Then in ‘Try Me’, the steamy romance involves a fake relationship, between champion surfer Declan Bishop and Pearl who is determined to become the first famous female surfer. In ‘Try Right’, a friends to lovers romance leads to souls mate finding each other. Claudia was a famous Hollywood actress, but now she can only get a bit part role in a tv series filmed in Hawaii, along with fearless stuntman Henry. Henry agrees to help her find her first true love, a heroic surfer that she met, but as the couple get closer, maybe he’s not Claudia’s soul mate after all. Each of these enjoyable and engaging retro romances are standalone stories, but do have some crossover characters. These heartwarming stories had me hooked from start to finish, and I felt transported not only to the heat and beauty of Hawaii but also to the 1960’s, by the added historical details. The characters are well defined and the chemistry between the couples comes across in the narrative, and I was cheering them on hoping they would all get their HEA. I definitely recommend this box set, which had me happily turning the pages.

Marissa lives on Postscript Island and is about to fulfill her dream and open an art gallery on the island. She’s happy, dating a great guy that owns a coffee house on the island and her parents also run a successful resort there. Weston left the island after high school leaving behind high school sweetheart Marissa. He owns a very successful business and is very happy to live the bachelor lifestyle and not return to the island. His mom reaches out about concerns of a very lucrative offer to sell her business. With some reluctance, he returns to the island on his mega yacht to find other businesses on Main Street receiving well above value offers as well. Weston comes back to the island and back into Marissas life as they work together to find out about the developer trying to buy up a lot of postscript island. This was a well written book. It had a good mystery and love story all in one.

This box set is meant to ‘binge’. It contains the first three books in The Aloha Series. I have to say that this is a bingeable box set. It took me two days to read, which is faster than how I usually read. All three books are based on finding love and happily ever afters. I love all three so much but for very different reasons. The first book was Try Easy. This book takes place in the past. It focuses on the romance of Keoni and Lou. Keoni is a surfer and Lou is a tourist. This book has a will they or won’t they feel. It tells of natural chemistry between two people who are fighting it. I truly enjoyed these characters and this story. The second book is ‘Try Me’ it focuses on the relationship of Declan and Pearl. Both characters are introduced in Try Easy. These two are in a questionable / fake relationship but they have chemistry to burn. The third book is Try Right. Once again, it focuses on characters that were introduced in book one. It focuses on Henry and Claudia. Their relationship is one of those tales of friends who become more than friends. These books are such easy reads. I loved the relationships and how relatable they are. I also love how these books were heavily reliant on natural chemistry. They were written in such a way that you could envision yourself with them or in these positions and root on the characters. Sometimes I wanted to yell because they characters were not seeing the chemistry they had for one another. I know summer is coming to an end, but these books would make the perfect beach reads. They are set in Hawaii and reading them would be the perfect end of summer read, in my opinion.

This book was a phenomenal romantic comedy that I didn’t want to end. And it’s a perfect summer read by the pool or ocean. I wasn’t sure what to expect as this is an author I’ve never read before, but I will certainly be looking into her other books now. If they are anything like this one they will be fabulous. I laughed so hard at the sarcasm throughout this book. I loved that the main business is a condom manufacturer. I’ve never read a book with that type of business, and it just made for even more laughs and witty innuendos. I highly recommend this book if you want to laugh your behind off. You will not be disappointed.

This is a great collection of stories by some great authors. There are some new authors and some of my favorite authors in this book. I enjoyed reading each story. Each one is unique and engaging. The characters are relatable and the author’s use of details brings each story to life. Each story is unique from each other but all are haunting stories that make you want more. There is something in here for everyone. This is such a great collection and for a great cause as well. I highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed reading this suspenseful thriller. This is a new author for me which I look forward to seeing what is next for this author. This is a well written story about a spirit reaching out through a painting. Is it real or is it a voice from the past? I enjoyed how the author brought the story to life using details to make the story realistic. The characters are creative, unique and relatable. They bring the twists and turns to another level. They are sitting on the edge of your seat suspense. This is a fast paced story that is engaging and just hard to put down. This is a haunting story that you don’t want to miss. This is a great afternoon story that I really enjoyed. I highly recommend this story.

This is an eclectic work of modern poetry. Ryan M. Becker takes you on a trippy, edgy yet completely relatable ride through his poems. I really enjoyed reading his poetry and I loved that I could read a poem or two here and there. Some where longer than others, but they weren’t too long. A lot of his poetry was very nostalgic and brought back memories of my childhood and teen years. I loved his word choice and more than once I was running to the dictionary (which I love to do) to see what a word meant or how to pronounce it. I absolutely LOVED the artistic aesthetic of this collection of poems. The art done by Matthew Revert was spot on with each poems and equally as trippy and edgy. Even if you don’t think poetry is your genre, give this a shot…I think you’ll like it!

Bake Happy is the third and final book in the Bake Believe Trilogy. I read this book without reading books 1 and 2 in the trilogy. I wish I had read the other books first, but I still enjoyed this book on its own. I love the characters in this story! Cat and Robyn have an enviable cousin bond. I love that their families get together often and support both main characters. I like that the author included recipes to go with each chapter of the book. The ending wasn’t how I predicted the book would end, but it was a good ending to the story. Reading this book makes me want to go back and read the first two books. I would recommend this book for my junior high students to read, especially if they are interested in baking.

Ashali and the Blue Horseman by Jordan Elizabeth. This was a fun read. Its the story of Ashali who is on spring break with her friends. She meets Jase at a bar and is smitten. The night is going good so she goes back to his place but she is suddenly kidnapped. Jase is a superhero and is called the Blue Horseman and thought he had kept his identity a secret but apparently not. He realizes now that Ashali has been kidnapped he is in danger but his main priority is saving Ashali. Once he finds her he realizes she can take care of herself. Things go haywire fighting the bad guys together and they get into some dangerous situations but realizing they care about each other makes them fight harder. This book is full of danger, aliens, super heroes and fights. Such a fun read.

Lindsay Murray did a great job with the characters in the book. How raw each and every character the main and the supporting characters. Alice is a bit like a wild child, but after being abused like she’s been I would act the same. I would believe my life would always be the same after having a life like hers. Rueben wants what he can’t have, like he put his world on a pedestal and don’t really want to move it. This was a book you couldn’t put down, want to keep reading and reading and get overly emotional and angry along with the characters. Would everything be alright in the end or would everything be different? That is what I thought the whole time I was reading the book. There’s a lot of spice in the book and a lot of topics not for the faint at heart. But I would definitely say this is a book for readers that want a bit of spice and everything.

After another dating disaster Jake is not sure what to do. He definitely would like to find someone who can share his life with but he has a knack for picking the wrong woman. When his friends suggest blind dates through a dating app where the date literally is blind date. A date in the dark to really get to know one another. His four friends will each select a woman of their choice to see if a match is made. What happens though when Jake does find the girl he could see a future with is his friend’s assistant?
I enjoyed the story. I liked the concept of dating in the dark. Jake is charming and I thought the chemistry between Jake and Lauren was wonderful. It was delightful to see that they both are nervous about if their feelings are mutual and where it will lead. Thoroughly entertaining.

I love to read a book that goes into the story of who the author is, who they were, and how they became who they are now. This book was beautiful, inspiring, and enlightening. I was not able to put it down till I reached its completion as I read. I was very moved by the words that came to life as I read!
To explain the depth of all this book possesses, I can only tell you that you need to read it to envision and feel the what this author lived through and endured. From things she witnessed to events she had to go through, it was not all sugar and lollipops. I enjoyed reading her feelings and emotions as she became who she is, The book was more than a memoir to me, it was a truly heart opening and inspiring motivational read. I cried at times, everything felt so real. The beauty of this book was more than just words, you really felt everything. This author put everything out there, and allowed the reader to be a part of their most sincere and private moments. Nothing was more inspirational and beautiful to me! I loved this so much!
I personally thank this author for all that they gave when writing this memoir. A thank you doesn’t justify enough, but know I was touched as I read. This a must read for sure, and a very high recommendation.
