This is the first book in the series and ends in a cliffhanger.
I enjoyed this story much more than the original Romeo and Juliet. Loved the characters. Great twists and turns. Plenty of action, danger, and steam. There are a couple of moments that get you right in the feels. Overall, a great read! Looking forward to the next book!

It’s so good that Katie is heading home for her friends wedding I’m so proud of her for standing up to that nasty boss of hers 🤭😉
We hit a tiny glitch , the bride doesn’t want any singles at her wedding so Katie gets hitched with her ex high school boyfriend , Chase, and there’s some unresolved issues …..
Chase had his heart broken by Katie and when he agrees to be her plus one I think there’s more than vengeance in his heart …. His life has also changed drastically, he became an instant daddy to Timmy when his parents were killed in an accident and he’s a real hands on daddy and man he just makes my knees go like jelly and little Timmy is a real sweetheart ❣️
Things between Katie and Chase seem to pick up where they left off but they really do need to clear the air and they’re so perfect for each other and add Timmy to the equation and it’s the perfect little family ❣️

Second chance love story at its purest. When you dream big sometimes you forget to live big and that’s where Katie sees herself. When she ends up back in her home town on a set up date with her ex everything makes sense again. Has it been to long? Has he changed? Will his nephew/son accept her? And what about her new life? Which is the path she will choose? Great book highly recommend.

I love that this story is all about second chances. Second chances with love, family and life.
Katie is easy to connect with and you find yourself wrapped up in her world. This story makes you remember that life isn’t all about work and climbing the corporate ladder. That a job and the money isn’t going to necessarily make you have all the happiness in the world. I loved the back story connection with Katie and Chase. I wish there had been more to that part of the story line.
I did appreciate how Katie suddenly got the courage she was looking for when it came to her job. THere are bosses out there like BFH. Katie just needed to be “home” to realize where she was meant to be.
Chase was dealing with his own hatred but to see him fall back into the comfort of loving Katie. Makes you think maybe a fairy tale type of love exists. Growing up a little fast since he took on the responsibility of Timmy.
I wish there had been more to this story. I felt like some storyline was missing. It doesn’t feel complete and I have a ton of questions after finishing this story.

Sad,she is resolved to go on, but Wes feels she is familiar. The two engage in a journey that takes them down a road that has to be traveled. This is a book that will touch you hard in the emotions. I guarantee you will feel it all. The story is well-written and developed in such a way that a few plot twists thrown in felt normal. These two are very relatable. The only thing I would have hoped for is a snippier line to the new roommate, Charlotte, from Wesley. That chick is messed up and rude. It’s up there as one of the best romance books I’ve read for the year.

She is hoping to spend time with a couple of cousins she’s already met, and meet other family members she doesn’t yet know. What she doesn’t know is the amount of mystery and intrigue she is about to walk into. What she can’t possibly anticipate is the murder and mayhem that she is about to walk into and have to contend with…or the love she will find. Love for her family, and for a new love interest. One way or another, Eliza’s life is about to get more interesting. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mysteries, international intrigue, and maybe even a healthy dose of appreciation for Pride and Prejudice.

Katie who broke up with her high school boyfriend and left for college never looking back, comes home for her friend’s wedding. Long hours on dream job have taken its toll on her and she has forgotten to RSVP and find a plus one for the wedding. Katie called her sister Mary two days before the wedding and upon Mary’s insistence, she came home for the big event. Once she arrived safely and in her sister’s care, Katie called her friend Laurie to let her know that she would be there but without a plus one. Laurie would not have that as she wanted everyone to be paired at her wedding so she told Katie that her plus one would meet her at the wedding. Guess who that is? Her ex-boyfriend, Chase, that she so rudely and coldly broke up with upon leaving for college. Through the pages we read more about the lovers past and get to the deep-seated issues that lie in the way between them. Along the journey, Katie realizes that what she thought was her dream job in reality is not and her boss truly is the Boss From Hell.
Such cute characters were well developed and well written so that we get to hear the inner thoughts of both Katie and Chase as we follow along with them. It was such a sweet romance and of course like most romance novels, the two find a way to be together and to build a life worth living. This book is a great read and a cute escape for an afternoon by the pool or at the beach. You can’t help but to fall in love with the leading man Chase and to cheer for the couple when they finally decide to pair up again but for life this time.

Mixed emotions
What a ride! Rivals is the 7th book in the Mafia Elite series and is the last. I have loved every single book in this series. Each pair of characters has become like family and I am so torn now that it is over. Happy to see that there will be a spin off series and that I can still catch up with the Five families in these books. This book us Nico and Mia’s story. Both characters have appeared in previous books. As always, action abounds, along with drama and some stolen steamy moments. It’s everything I have come to expect from this excellent author. Recommend reading the whole series.

Yes yes all the yes! This story was SO good. I was drawn into it by the description and needed to know more. I finished it so quick because it was just that interesting. Remember to Forget Me by Hazel Storm is book one in the proposed Too Lost to Love series. I’m honestly obsessed with this book, so I’m looking forward to any others! Addie was there when Wesley forgot who she was because of a bully. After becoming a pop sensation, Wesley can do and have anything he wants. But he can’t remember six months of his life. So imagine his surprise when this girl he’s never met seems so familiar to him that he needs to know more. After years, they are in one another’s lives again. Is this a sick joke, or fate. Honestly, the twists in this story really got me. Something I truly wouldn’t have predicted. You have to read this book, it really was that good.
The Secret Cure by J.D. Spero

I LOVE psychological thrillers and this book was no exception. I was glued to the pages from the very beginning and couldn’t put it down until it was finished. I love that the author not only alternated between past and present but also included every main character’s perspective. The story never felt rushed or over saturated with details yet the author managed to pay an incredible amount of detail to each character’s storyline- past and present. I loved that at any given time I could love and appreciate a character and then decide they were despicable and none of them were likable at all. I can not say enough about the shifts in perspective throughout this whole book.
The twists and turns of this story did not disappoint and despite EVERYTHING that happened, I was fixated on one line from the beginning half of the book… “I wonder does he see her as an ice cream or martini kind of woman? That one data point would answer all my questions.” I loved the book from beginning to end and will need a minute to digest how much so!

What is better than a bad boy romance? Nothing but adding in the mafia, makes it even more better. The main characters in this book are amazing. The lead female is a sassy, bright, intelligent, and beautiful. The lead male in this book is your classic tall, dark and handsome with an edge. He gives bad boy vibes and she is there for it. The way the meet is actual funny and involves pepper spray….Yep, that good. However, that fluke of a meeting is the best thing that could have happened to either one of them. They both have secrets and need each other to overcome them. What looks like two people from two different worlds might just not be the case. This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It was either from wanting to know what would happen next, to laughing, to just being that darn good. I’ve read a lot of mafia books before and I have to say that this one is right up there with my favorites. I will certainly be going back and reading the rest of the series. Between, the page turning suspense, the drama between the characters, the steam, and the final outcome, this book has it all. I highly recommend reading it if you have an afternoon free.

While the first installment to this series is a small novella, this installment was a very detailed novel that I just simply couldn’t put down. Full of other worlds, all kinds of characters, humor and more trust me when I say that you need to run and pick this one up today.

I find it strange that for someone like me who is so NOT sporty how much I actually do love a good sports romance! I was drawn into this story from the very start and was held captive till the last word. This is the first book I have read from this author and it definitely will be the first of many for me I am sure. While I read this book in the series and fully enjoyed it I will however be going back to the very start of the series to read all the prior books to further enhance my understanding and enjoyment. I mean its the thing to do when you enjoy something so much right?
Evan and Callie are wonderful characters who held a place in my heart for the entire book. Evans battles with extreme anxiety rang true to me as mental health is dealt with on a daily basis in my own home. It was written with love and hope which is something we all need in our lives right??

It was a very last minute decision and her friend insists she attend with a plus one so she sets Katie up with someone she thinks will make a great plus one…..it just happens to be her ex boyfriend! Chase having returned to town the previous year with his nephew he is now raising is not so keen to hang out with the woman who shattered his heart. The big question is can these two forgive old wounds and learn to see each other as the adults they now are? This great book really is an emotional heartfelt read that at its heart is a second chance story.

Mia goes to the one person she knows that can protect her , Nico and within a few days the family envelope her more than her own flesh and blood , these men might me mafia but they have a moral code of sorts and they love and protect fiercely , Mia is right where she belongs 😍
I loved Nick and Mia and their story kept me on the edge of my seat ! Another brilliant instalment ❣️📕

Fabulous book….riveting story draws the audience in at every turn. My only disappointment, was that the backstory wasn’t as developed as I would have liked. Kinda just throws Aimee in there, leaving the reader with questions. Quick, easy read. Enjoyed the strong female lead and the way that she carried herself throughout the book!
Out of author SE Smith’s normal wheel house of Sci-Fi, however she did phenomenal with this sizzling romance/mystery as well!
Aimee Wheels is a homeless courier who works so hard at everything she does. Despite being homeless, Aimee is extremely educated and fluently speaks multiple languages. When Aimee helps to stop a plan to kill Quadir, an extremely wealthy & powerful sheik, Quadir is completely smitten with Aimee and vows to make her his wife, but Aimee isn’t having it. Fiercely independent & certainly not able to be bought, Aimee makes it clear that she is her own person. After some twists and turns, the find themselves falling for each other. Can their two very different worlds collide and allow them obtain the fairytale, happily ever after they both desperately want?
Excellent read. Relatable characters. Can not wait for book 2 in the series!

This time around is about a girl named Katie who comes home to attend a wedding. While there she gets roped into attending the wedding with another single guest. The only problem is, her date is her ex boyfriend. A boy she loved and never quite got over. A boy whose heart she broke 10 years before. A boy named Chase, who is not a boy any longer and is raising his orphaned nephew. He has grown into a handsome man and Katie can’t help but notice. Katie is not the only one who has not gotten over the relationship of the past, but Chase also carries some bitterness from the past and the way Katie broke his heart. After the wedding the two realize they still have feelings for eachother but how could they possibly make it work? Katie has to get back to work and Chase can’t uproot his nephew to be closer to her.
I really liked this book. It has a great story and you can get lost in the pages. The only reason I took off a star is because there are a couple parts where the story seems to go off track giving information that, while important, doesn’t fit in the moment. Other than those couple parts, the story was fantastic and I would definitely recommend it.

Something About Aimee is the first book from the Girls from the Street series by S.E. Smith. I have read a few of Ms. Smith’s books now, but this is definitely my favourite of the bunch, so far. As soon as I saw the cover and read the blurb, I knew I would like it- but I never expected to love it as much as I did. It was such a treat to read, incorporating much of what I love to find in my stories.
This is a stellar romantic suspense, with plenty of action, danger, agendas, dramatic developments, originality, creativeness, tension, chemistry, intrigue, suspense, mystery, and so much more. The author definitely got the recipe right with this book. I loved every minute between her cover.
Aimee (Wheels) and Qadir are such wonderful characters, I loved them from the outset. They have been meticulously crafted into well-developed individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. Aimee brings such a fresh and somewhat quirky vibe to the whole story- very cleverly done by this talented author. Both her MC’s are ‘different’, in a great way- which added more depth and an extra element of interest to the whole story. I don’t think it would have been the same without these two particular characters. I also loved the little bit of mysteriousness that the author had instilled in them both- especially Wheels with her backstory/upbringing etc. I really wanted to know more about that- I felt that her origins might be something unexpected and really interesting. I have my own suspicions on this, so I am hoping that we may find out more about her in future instalments.
I was immediately captured by these wonderful characters and their exciting tale- finding myself completely invested in them and the outcome of their story. I couldn’t read quick enough; I was that eager to find out what happens. I only meant to read a few chapters before bed to see what the story was like- and before I knew it several hours had passed and I had devoured the entire book in one sitting.
This is definitely one of my favourite, and most memorable reads this year.

The Titans are back! I love these books, and Scandalously Yours doesn’t disappoint! Book 5 in the Titans of Manhattan Series, can be read in succession and/or as a standalone novel. So I’ve gushed about how much I like this series, but it’s not just the series it’s the author too! If you want a well written romance novel look no further, if it be this book and/or any of the others this author has written. Trust me they are written well and keep you intrigued. They do not disappoint.
What goes around comes around, I feel that best describes what Kristopher is going through. After what he did to his best friend and his now wife in high school. He’s now dealing with the karma. That Karma being his soon to be conniving ex-wife, Hayley. She’s making his life miserable, and will go to any means to do so. Including using their kids against him.
Alessia, excited to start the next chapter of her medical career, meets Kristopher at a medical conference, and there’s no turning back from there. Unfortunately for her two things stand in her way. One Kris is her new boss. Two his crazy ex-wife.
Will love conquer all?
Will Hayley succeed in getting what she wants?
All that and so much more can be found within the pages of this book. What you thought I was going to tell you? Now what’s the fun in that! I want you to pick up this book and enjoy it, as much as I have!

This is a book that was hard to put down, you peal each layer of the characters and the secrets, drama and betrayal….there was plentiful! This book is told in multi-POV and can I say again….the secrets!!!
Rosalie is dealing with a chronic medical condition that leaves her in the need of home health care aid and I found it heartbreaking as her husband, Vincent, was cold toward Rosalie’s illness. Vincent hires Cate to help take care of Rosalie as a home health aid and knowingly Cate has so much care and love for Rosalie and taking care of her on a daily basis. When Vincent pulls away more and more from Rosalie, thoughts of another woman surface and doubt settles in…. and Rosalie is determine to seek revenge.
This story definitely pulls of twists and turns that you definitely need to put on your seat-belt because you are in for one roller coaster of a ride!

I totally devoured this book just like the last one. Once again, these characters were amazing. A very amazing, fast paced, page turner, action filled, story that kept me on the edge of my seat that I couldn’t put it down. It was filled with so many twists and turns and kept me guessing what was going to happen it really felt like a rollercoaster ride of events. This book was amazing and highly recommend it.

This is the first book in the series and I enjoyed this gripping crime thriller, which had me hooked from start to finish. Shakedown is full of action and suspense that kept me engaged without missing any details. It is a well-written plot with murder, mayhem, and intrigue. With FBI investigations and cartel boats, you know there will be twists and turns with lives in the balance. I look forward to the next book in the series!

This was a really good read! It was well written, and fast paced so it made go pretty quickly while reading. The characters were lovable and had great chemistry together. It starts off with a bang, so it was definitely exciting and I may even go so far as to say adventurous while being emotional. My only complaint is that while it moved quick, it was hard to determine points in time so I stayed a little confused in parts on the timeline because there was several skipped days. But other than that it was a great read. I can’t wait to read more in the future!

I enjoyed this quick read from an author I hadn’t found before. The female lead is strong and the writing is good! There was suspense, romance, and a realistic element that makes any story easy to read. I did feel like a little something was missing however I am hoping it comes in the next book in the series!
