Every ten years, a being is chosen to undergo this chance for a new life however, Quinnlan must find a mate in three days, and it doesn’t help that he has been dropped off in the middle of nowhere. Dumped in an abandoned motel far from anything remotely resembling civilization, how the heck is he to find a mate? Quinnlan only has two days left when he finds a guy bleeding because of a pack of wolf shifters, another paranormal set of beings. Does Quinnlan save him by giving him his blood and choosing him as a mate or does he leave him to die? By giving him the blood also means that Quinnlan has chosen him as a mate, but will he be accepted by this man or rejected? You must read the book to find out! It’s a great short story that was easy to read as the story progressed rapidly and naturally. The characters are relatable and easy to empathize with. Pick it up and go for a spin with the sexy Quinnlan and his mate!

Wow I have loved this series from the beginning. In this book we meet the Mafia Princesses. Each one is very strong and determined young women. Each of them want to live their own lives the way the way they want to.

These girls live in a world of danger and while they want to enjoy their last taste of freedom danger and the Mafia life is always there. I really feel for these girls, forced into a life they don’t want, forced to marry against their will and not being able to be with the one they loved makes for a very turbulent life. However for one of the girls it will turn into murder.

The story is fast paced and gripping. It’s a quick read but the author fills so much into the story.

This is the book is the starting of the Mafia Elite Series and everything I didn’t know I was missing. It is a book that you won’t be able to put down. It shows the longing of wanting what the main females in the series can not have. It shows the softer side of all of them before everything happens. The innocent and not so innocent lives that they lead with hopes of something better than what has always been done.
This books gives, so many aspects that I didn’t know I needed that make the whole series come together. Without giving away important details just know that when you read this book if you haven’t read the whole series yet, this is the best one to start with because you will have so much more knowledge to move forward in the series. If you have already read the series you will love being able to connect even more to the characters in this series. It will give you so much more background and really let you feel what they are feeling.
This book had me hooked from the beginning and left me wanting even more. I feel greedy wanting more but this series is one of the best I have read in a long time. You will not be disappointed and will love the story lines of each female character. It is a squick read and a major page turner. You will definitely fall in love with the characters in this book if you aren’t already in love with them.

Austin fell in love with Mavis after having feelings for Casey, who he couldn’t be with due to his twin brother Josh. Josh and Casey were high school sweethearts before Casey left mysteriously after high school due to a secret she had. Casey knew if she confessed her secret that Josh wouldn’t go to college and she wanted him to go without feeling guilty. Austin runs into Casey years later and is able to bring everyone back together again, knowing that he has a secret as well. Mavis is Casey’s roommate and gets tangled up the the homecoming of everyone. I would highly recommend this book and the trilogy. It kept my attention through the whole book.

Matthew is a divorced dad and savanna is a widow. The book is extremely cute and it’s getting me in the holiday spirit! So what a perfect time to read this book! First book I’ve read by this author and I really enjoyed it. They’ve both have gone through some hard times in life and savanna finally wants to start living! And she has such a good sense of humor! I love it! And Matthew is just as amazing! Great characters, great plot, great writing! Loved reading their journey! I will be checking out more books by Barbara!

Defiant Princess is a Prequel to the Mafia Elite Series. I have had the privilege of reading each of these books in this series, and I love them all. This book is a great short read, if you want to get to know the Mafia Princesses before reading the Mafia Elite Series start here. My biggest take away from this is that I wish we could have gotten to know more about “Marissa” in this book. The other girls each have a book dedicated to them, and while I know Marissa’s story ends differently, I wished we could have gotten into her “head” just a little bit more. Either way that is just a personal opinion, the books are fantastic and for that I will give this book and the entire series all 5 stars each!

.Francie grew up on the bayou and that’s what she knows best, although she is being transitioned into a whole other world within no amount of time. Rose is a small town girl with big town dreams and you will also follow her as she transitions into a woman. Both women end up at the Mansfield.

This is another fun romp in the cupid assistant series. Malayeka is sent to deal with Billie and Leo. They have a heartstring but live in a town with a scenario that’s a cross between Romeo and Juliet & The Hatfield and The McCoys. What a web weave, they think they can be just friends, but…. She has her hands full with this assignment. I love the author’s writing. Fun and contemporary, lots of humor. I almost felt like we would see rednecks coming out of the woods. I loved the people of the story. Billie and Leo were two perfect people to watch as their relationship developed. Following Mala as she put it all together and tied it in, was a treat. I loved the story and am now a huge fan of this series.

This book really can be read before or after reading mafia elite, but I enjoyed reading it after to fill in little gaps you think there are in the mafia elite series. Aiko is one of six cupid assistants. She is sent to help Alejandro find his true love. Will it be Everest or Celestina? This fantasy romance is a fun little romp through paranormal land. The writing is quite entertaining, as are Aiko’s hijinks. She’s just coming off a 50 year time-out. She just wants to do things right. The characters are timeless. Dogs jumping, “cupid sisters” insisting on checking on her, I don’t know how she gets her job done. Al just wants her gone. The plot stays smooth threw out, even with a twist here and there. A fantastic quick read that any romance lover would enjoy. I recommend.

Paranormals who were killed unjustly may very well get another chance at life… if they are chosen by the gods. Once every ten years this happens and this time it’s Quinns turn. Except there us a catch, you must find, choose a mate within 72 hours or you go back to purgatory… if they don’t reciprocate your choice you also go back to purgatory…forever.

Quinn wakes stark naked in the middle of nowhere in an abandoned motel with 3 days worth of clothes (no undies! Thanks gods!) A small pile of cash and 3 days to figure it all out. As a Vampire he doesn’t much tolerate the sun and he’s not allowed to manipulate his chosen.
I don’t want to ruin surprises but this story line is original, creative, fun, full of secrets and unraveling Mysteries and snarky attitude.
I highly reccomend this book a quick read that will keep you entertained to the last page!

First off, this story does have a trigger warning for suicide and PTSD from an attack.
On that note, it’s a sweet, angsty tale of two young people going through the challenges of a relationship. Because of their backgrounds, the family history, they have some issues. I found the writing style was confusing at times with the POV going back and forth between National Parks and countries. I was able to get back on track. The characters were okay. I would have loved to see Phoebe develop into a stronger woman. My favorite part of the story was when she met Kenzo’s family and was hearing about his mom’s family history. Overall, it’s an okay story that if you like relationship drama and second chances, you’ll enjoy this one.

I love reading Christmas/Holiday stories ones it gets closer to the holiday season. When I saw and read the sample for this book, I knew that I had to read it and it was so amazing!! Savannah is a wonderful lady who has undergone some tragic events, with losing her husband and has been learning how to move on after such a horrible loss. When her son moves that is what prompts her to go to the store and leads her to be offered the possibility of being a perfect Mrs. Claus. I loved the whimsical feel of this story and enjoyed it as it helped me get into the wonderful world of Christmas. I cannot wait to read more books by this author!

I am a sucker for a good teacher/student romance book and had to read this when I saw it! This genre of book is a guilty pleasure of mine and this one was so amazing!! This author wrote such an amazing story with these two characters. I found myself not wanting to clock back in from lunch as I just wanted to continue reading!! Juliet is divorced and wants to be in a relationship but does not want to be heartbroken again, I mean who would want that? And then there is James, who is a sweet guy, who kind of keeps to himself who is in a routine and doesn’t know how to get out. When these two meet sparks fly, and their love story/journey is super original and entertaining. I have added this to my reread selection of books for when I can’t find another one. I cannot wait to read more stories by this wonderful author!!

This is the prequel to A Mafia Elite series. Absolutely love this whole series and this addition just makes it better. I loved seeing the starting point for all the women. Immediately on starting this book my heart went out to Carina and stayed fully engaged until the very last word. She suffers so much loss and hardship, including battling Covid herself, in such a short period of time. After coming through all that she is a little lost and unsure of her place in this new world of ours filled with Covid and face masks and she worries constantly about her family. Carina is such a wonderfully written and totally relatable character. I love her friendship with Max, a young man she strikes up a friendship with that she meets in a grief group who has lost his wife to cancer. This book will bring out so many emotions and keep you captivated from start to finish all while reminding you of the very needed joy of the Christmas spirit. It’s an absolutely wonderful holiday read.

The story starts out with a bar mitzvah celebration for Samuel who is turning 13. He then goes to study under a priest at the temple where he witnesses the tearing of the veil. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the story other than I thought it would be a longer read. I was intrigued by the part in the story when the veil is torn and Samuel experiences something supernatural! I would have liked the author to expand more on this part since it was a life changing event for Samuel. This is an enjoyable quick read for a younger audience who enjoys inspirational stories!

She wants nothing more than a big family Christmas but her adult kids seem busy in their own lives and husband is working out of town. She connects with a young man on a online grief support group and he offers her his cabin in the mountains for the holidays to try to cheer her up and get her out of the funk she’s in. Hoping to have a wonderful white Christmas, she packs her journal and goes.
Great read about healing and getting out of your comfort zone.

This was a great 5 star read. This author has quickly become a must read for me. She once again pulled me right in with her writing. I really enjoyed Teddy and Robyn story. There of course are ups and downs and things from the past that cause issues. Teddy lost 5 years of his life for something he didn’t do and Robyn still held him in her heart. Will Teddy and Robyn get what they used to have?
Overall I really enjoyed this read. I look forward to reading more from this series. 1-click and get started today.

What a sweet Christmas romance! I love Savannah’s character but really grew fond of Matthew and Fern too! I enjoyed getting to know the different characters in the story. You get to read a little of everyone’s backstory even though the story focuses on Savannah and Matthew. It has a great surprise ending that I really wasn’t expecting. I really like the easy writing style of the author and will be looking into more of her books. You are sure to enjoy this clean Christmas romance!

Operation Blackbird is the 2nd book in the Brass Compass Series, however, it can be read as a stand alone. There are some overlapping characters but it is a solid story on its own. This book takes place in the 1940s after WW2 and during the Cold War. It is a historical fiction, based around true events, but with some of the authors imagination to fill in the gaps. This book had me so hooked from the get go. Miriam has a couple alias along the way, as a operative for the CIA. She and her team are sent to retrieve and rescue a Soviet and his family. Their mission is to get them out of Berlin and to America. They are dodging and evading agents from KGB, Stasis and even other CIA operatives. Staying alive and keeping their “package” alive proves to be harder than expected. I love the suspense of this book as well as the added relationships of Miriam and her friends. The ending was perfect. I look forward to more and recommend this to anyone who enjoys historical stories.

Lucas the Spy Cat is a really cute imaginative children’s book. I read it to my 7 year old, and he loved it. The illustrations are beautiful and colorful. Lucas is a pet who goes outside at night, and his owners are suspecting what he might do. They have put a camera on his collar, to capture his night time adventures. There are several fun ideas, parties in the woods, taking on cases of escaping pets, and more. Then at the end, the owners review the video and are shocked by what they see!
I wish the owners were drawn a bit younger. We did love the creative rhyming the book is written in. My son loved the activities at the end, looking for Lucas’s friends, and completing the word search. He loved that the last page included a picture of the real Lucas.

This is a perfect sequel, but great as a stand-alone as well. I enjoyed becoming reacquainted with characters I had previously met. It was nice to meet new friends as well. The female protagonist, much like myself, is a notorious klutz who will trip over anything or nothing. I enjoyed reading about characters who are unable to take the traditional expected life route right after high school. Some people actually have to struggle and strive to achieve their goals. It was nice to see the nontraditional student being cheered on by those around her. I’m eagerly awaiting the third installment of this trilogy!

Savannah and Matthew are both missing something but have resigned themselves to where they are in life. An accidental meeting changes the course of each of their lives forever. This will be one I will be reading again when I am in the need of a boost in my holiday spirit.
